This thread will server as both a place for current NU Council Information as well as a History for past bans that take place over the course of SS NU.

How Tiering is Run:

At the beginning of the NU beta phase, the NU council will partake in multiple voting slates on Pokemon deemed as potential issues. Once the tier has adjusted to these changes, the banned Pokemon from these voting slates will be discussed within the NU Council, and any Pokemon deemed worthy of being further investigated will be given a public suspect test. From this point onward, all tiering will undergo public suspect tests, where the Pokemon chosen are determined by the tier leaders and council, as well as from community input. The only exception to this rule is when the NU Council votes on Pokemon that have been introduced into the tier via tier-shifts and are deserving of swift observation and action.

02-03-20 Slurpuff has been quickbanned from the NU tier as it is deemed too broken for the beta period.

Slurpuff: Yet again, Slurpuff has been quickbanned from NU for mostly the same reasons as last generation. Once Slurpuff is able to get off a Belly Drum there is nothing in the tier that is able to reliably handle it outside of Garbodor and Silvally-Poison which must be at near full health. The combination of Unburden to double its speed as well coverage in Drain Punch allows it to muscle past conventional Fairy-type answers such as Ferroseed and Perrserker and tear through most teams with ease. Slurpuff is also near impossible to revenge kill after it activates Unburden, as it outspeeds even the fastest of NU's common Choice Scarf users such as Togedemaru. All of this together means Slurpuff is too unhealthy for the tier and will be quickbanned as of now.

Garay oak is no longer on the NU Council due to inactivity, and Davon will take his place.

Davon has been a mainstay in NU since he first started contributing in 2014, and we feel that he will be the perfect addition to the council for the future. He is one of the most knowledgable players of the tier, and has recently won the NU Open as well, showing that he can back up thee metagame knowledge he has with play as well. He's made numerous insightful posts in the NP threads, and overall we think he will work well with the current council, and will hopefully join us in shaping up the new metagame over the next few months.

Eternally and Kiyo have both stepped down from TL/Council, and we thank both of them for all the work they have both put in over the years.

Along with that, poh will be joining the council. Hes been an active presence in the Discord, PS Room, and we all feel he will make a great addition to the council!

Figured I'd make an update here instead of a thread, but lax has decided to step down from his position as NU Tier Leader. While it was a short lived tenure (though not the shortest s/o Disjunction) he still managed to help guide NU in a phase it needed to be with us having so many tests and changes recently. We all wish him the best with whatever he chooses to do, and hope that he still drops by from time to time n_n.

I'll be running solo for a bit, but the moderators (Finchinator Rabia poh) are also there if you guys have any more questions, but always feel free to reach out to me as well.

Following the above, Ren-chon is now a member of the NU Council!

A longtime player and contributor to the tier, dating all the way back to ORAS. Ren-chon has always been a familiar face around the community, and has recently been an excellent contributor in the NP threads and the NU Discord! They can provide a very solid voice and reasoning to council, and hopefully are able to contribute and help run the tier for the coming future!

S1nn0hC0nfirm3d is now a member of the SS NU council!

He is a consistent presence in NU circles, demonstrating experienced perspectives on the metagame coupled with creative insight this entire generation. S1nn0hC0nfirm3d, also known as Ho3nConfirm3d, has been an active poster on discord and the forums for a long period of time now. We are excited to welcome him aboard as our newest member and hope to improve as a group with his addition.

OnArceus and etern are now members of the SS NU council! Sjneider will be stepping away due to inactivity, but we thank him for his efforts this generation.

OnArceus is a newer player who has done an amazing job as a member of the community and tournaments this generation thus far. Etern is a long-time NU presence, previously leading the tier very well. He is active in the metagame once more and we are happy to have him back.

shiloh is stepping away from the NU council due to inactivity. We thank him for his years of contributions to NU, which include leading the tier throughout this generation.

Everyone welcome Pokeslice as the newest member of the SS NU council. We are very excited for this addition as we continue to strive for the most active and engaged council possible.

Additionally, Davon will be stepping away as he is a bit less active currently. Thank you for all of your help over your time on the council!
