Returning to the tier with the latest tier shift, Perrserker quickly established itself as the tiers most fearsome Choice Band wallbreaker. With an amazing ability in Tough Claws boosting its already strong attacks, like STAB Iron Head, Close Combat, and U-turn, Perrserker has very limited counterplay and forces to use Qwilfish or niche Pokemon like Cramorant, Rotom-S, or Poliwrath in every team. The council has decided that it is best for the currently on-going UMPL to quickban Perrserker with and immediate retest, to help stabalize the metagame within the tour.
Furthermore, Perrserker can support itself very easily, with good physical bulk and an amazing typing with pure Steel to beat common walls, like Articuno, Altaria, and Clefairy and with the power of 2HKOing common physically bulky foes like Palossand and Gurdurr. Tough Claws Close Combat acts as a pseudo-secondary STAB move able to demolish common Steel-resists such as Stunfisk formes, Pyukumuku, and Rapidash, OHKOing the latter. It also got access to U-turn that lets it retain momentum and makes it excellent on VoltTurn teams due to pairing very well with special wallbreakers like Thievul, Rotom, and Silvally-Water, that can easily take advantage of its few checks. The last move is flexible and can be chosen for the teams liking. The common options include Lash Out, a move able to OHKO Rotom lacking a Colbur Berry, Offensive Qwilfish, and Shedinja; Double-Edge to threaten niche checks like Cramorant and Rotom-C and Facade which turns down the opponents hopes when they get a status off on Perrserker.
However, the council thinks Perrserker still deserves a chance in the tier because of some downsides. It suffers from being very slow, even being slower than Articuno, Miltank, and Altaria, three pokemon which it is supposed to abuse. Its below average special bulk also makes it tough to position itself multiple times throughout a game. Additionally, it can be prediction reliant and locking into the wrong move allows for the opponent to fish for contact punishment, like Flame Body, Rocky Helmet or Static from Rapidash, Qwilfish, and Stunfisk respectively.

- You must signup with a newly registered account on Pokemon Showdown! that begins with the appropriate prefix for the suspect test. For this suspect test, the prefix will be ZUKE. For example, I might signup with the ladder account ZUKE Corthius.
- Laddering with an account that impersonates, mocks, or insults another Smogon user or breaks Pokemon Showdown! rules may be disqualified from voting and infracted. Moderator discretion will be applied here. If there is any doubt or hesitance when making the alt, just pick another name. There are infinite possibilities and we have had trouble for this repeatedly. If you wish to participate in the suspect, you should be able to exhibit decent enough judgement here. We will not be lenient.
- The aspect being tested, Perrserker, will be allowed on the ladder but NOT in any ZU tournament play.
- Any form of voting manipulation will result in swift and severe punishment. You are more than welcome to state your argument to as many people as you so please, but do not use any kind of underhanded tactics to get a result you desire. Bribery, blackmail, or any other type of tactic used to sway votes will be handled and sanctioned.
- Do not attempt to cheat the ladder. We will know if you did not actually achieve voting requisites, so don't do it. Harsh sanctions will be applied.
- Unlike previous tests, we will be posting the voting identification thread immediately after this thread. Please avoid getting more games before getting confirmed.
- The suspect test will go on for about 2 weeks, lasting until November 23rd at 8 PM GMT +1, and then we will put up the voting thread in the Blind Voting subforum.
This thread will be open to allow all users to share their thoughts on this suspect test and discuss with one another their thoughts. Should you have any questions about the suspect test, feel free to message me or anyone else on the ZU council. Keep in mind that our suspect tests are decided by the community; anyone who achieves voting requisites is allowed to vote. The outcome is up to you. Happy posting and laddering!
Avoid posting one-liners or posts that do not contribute to any discussion. They will be deleted.
Edit: Perrserker will be allowed for the currently on-going rounds of Majors, SSNL and UMPL, but will be banned from the next two weeks!
