Noble Items
Noble Items is a Pet Mod that aims to give items a more decisive role in the metagame by:
  • boosting already competitively viable items and nonviable items;
  • differentiating items with the same effects;
  • giving competitively useless items new effects;
  • bringing scrapped items from past Generations into the current metagame (to a lesser extent as points above).
  • trying to make base forms with items more appealing than Megas, and Z-Crystals less appealing in general.
tl;dr: It's an item changing Pet Mod.
  • Phase 1: Submissions
Every few days, a few items below will be posted. Then, submitters will be able to boost the items in a format similar to this:

Miracle Seed | Boosts the power of Grass-type moves by 20% when held. -> Boosts the power of Grass-type moves by 30% and restores 1/16 of the Pokémon's maximum HP (rounded down) each turn when held.
Flavor Concept: Its description says it is imbued with life force.
Competitive Concept: Basically a Leftovers that boosts Grass type moves as strongly as Life Orb. Can be used efficiently by bulky/tank Grass types.

Rose Incense | Boosts the power of Grass-type moves by 20% when held. -> If the holder is not fully evolved, boosts the power of Grass-type moves by 50% and raises the holder's Defense and Special Defense by 50%.
Flavor Concept: Incenses are related to baby Pokemon, which are the NFE of NFE. Budew can only be obtained in an egg with this Incense.
Competitive Concept: Lets Tangela hit harder than Tangrowth while having comparable bulk. Another interesting user is Servine, making it much bulkier than Serperior, hitting just as hard, but being naturally slower.
However, a submission will not be accepted if it is like this:
Odd Incense | Boosts the power of Psychic-type moves by 20% when held. -> Boosts the power of Psychic-type and Grass-type moves by 420% when held.
Flavor Concept: odd incense = weed lolololol
Competitive Concept: smoke weed everyday
A template can be found here:
Item Name | Old item effect. -> New item effect.
Flavor Concept:
Competitive Concept:

Remember, one of the main points of this Pet Mod is to differentiate items. Any submissions that are identical to others previously voted will not be considered.
(Note: Please try and submit for all items if possible. Thank you.)
  • Phase 2: Voting
At the end of the submissions period, people will be able to vote for all eligible submissions.
The voting format will be like this:

Item A: UserX, UserY, UserZ
Item B: UserY, UserZ, UserX

The First Choice gets 3 points, second gets 2 and third gets 1. You can.
The user with most votes will have their submission added into the project itself. If two submissions that are identical to one another both have the most votes (Example: if both winning Meadow Plate and Miracle Seed end up boosting Grass-type moves by 50%), users will then choose which one gets reslated.
  • Phase 3: Results
After the voting period, I will put up the results, and the people who win will have their submission put into the project itself.

Heat Rock | Doubles the duration of Sun set by the holder and renders the holder immune to Rock type moves. (by Ghoul King)
Lava Cookie | If the holder is burned, they recover 100% of their health, and their burn is cured. The item is then consumed. (by Jajoken)
Magmarizer | Doubles the chance of burn on the user's attacks with a chance of burn. If the user is Magmar or Magmortor, the chance is tripled instead (by The Pizza Man)
Magma Stone | Heatran gains 1/8th health back each turn. (by Tarontos)

Toxic Orb | If held by a non poison type, at the end of the turn the holder is badly poisoned and increases their special attack by 15%. If the holder is poison type, their attacks have a 25% chance to poison the opponent. (This is additive to any existing poison chance) (by the someone)
Earth Plate | The holder's Ground type moves clear everything Rapid Spin clears on impact with an opponent. (by Ghoul King)

Stone Plate | The holder's Normal type moves become Rock type and have an increased critical hit ratio. (by Ghoul King)

Whipped Dream | When the holder uses Belly Drum, it's Whipped Dream is used instead of HP, but the holder is put to sleep after 4 turns unless it's Slurpuff. (by the someone)
Sachet | At the end of every turn, the Evasion of all Pokemon on the field is lowered by one stage. (by Ghoul King)
Sweet Heart | Holder's contact moves have their BP calculated with Friendship / 2.83 formula, but their secondary effects are removed (Multi-hit moves are not affected by this). (by the someone)
Zap Plate | Normal moves become electric and have power boosted by 1.3 (by Tarontos)
Magnet | ???
Electirizer |
If the holder is struck by an Electric move, their Speed sharply rises. (They still take full damage. If they're immune, the Electirizer won't trigger) (by Ghoul King)
Cell Battery | If the holder is Electric type, restores 50% of the holder's health when below half health, using up the Cell Battery. The move Charge will replace a used Cell Battery like Recycle. (by Ghoul King)
Light Ball| ???
Upgrade |
If the holder is part of the Porygon line, whenever it uses a Status move, it will also use a special move of the same type with x0.5 power. (by the someone)
Dubious Disc | If the holder is Porygon, Porygon2 or Porygon-Z, it adds Ghost typing and Speed is raised by +1 upon switch in. (by Chopin Alkaninoff)
Eject Button | ???

  • Phases 1.5 and 2.5: Recycled Items Submissions and Voting
Since V2 is a new generation, and many of the people who submitted the winning items are no longer active on Smogon, a new mechanic to make this Pet Mod more interactive will be added. Every slate, along with brand new items, people can submit new effects for items that have already been changed. They'll be voted as normal, but the existing effect will count as one of the submissions that people can vote for.

Here's our First Slate:

Meadow Plate
Miracle Seed
Rose Incense

We also have our First Recycling Slate:
Black Belt |
Boosts the power of fighting moves by 30% and raises their critical hit ratio one stage. (by Throbulator36)
Fist Plate |
Boosts punching moves and kicking moves by 50%. (by Phione)
Expert Belt |
The holder's super effective hits are 50% stronger, but ineffective hits are halved in damage. (by Ghoul King)
Muscle Band |
Boosts this pokemon's attack by 50%, but lowers speed by 33%. (by desuko)
We can choose to keep these effects, or replace them with something new.

Good luck and have fun!

Meadow Plate | Holder’s Grass type attacks have 1.2x power. Judgement is Grass Type -> Holders Normal type moves become Grass type. Holders Grass type moves gain 1.1x power.
Flavor Concept: The concept behind the plates is that Arceus can use them to change its types. However, Arceus is banned in OU. This rework tries to keep a similar concept by taking the -ate style of Normal -> Type. The plate has a smaller boost to balance it out a bit.
Competitive Concept: Can be used to give pokemon an extra type for coverage, as well as a small boost to Grass type moves, this would allow extra Grass STAB if needed, or coverage for mon that would love it. (It is my intention make all plates follow these rules to keep them together)

Miracle Seed | Holder’s Grass type attacks have 1.2x power. -> Holders Grass Type attacks heal for 33% of the damage dealt.
Flavor Concept: The many descriptions mostly say the item contains life force, and while getting it through draining the foes HP, Draining moves do heal you
Competitive Concept: The Miracle Seed is now used as a way to gain recovery on moves other that Giga Drain which will be very useful for many Grass types that would love the ability to do so without having to use a spare moveslot for it. Serperior would like being able to use it with Leaf Storm, although it doesn’t have much to fill its extra slot.Tabu Bulu would also love this, as it can negate Wood Hammer’s recoil damage

Fist Plate (Recycled) | Holder’s Fighting type attacks have 1.2x power. Judgement is Fighting Type -> Holders Normal type moves become Fighting type. Holders Fighting type moves gain 1.1x power.
Flavor Concept: See Meadow Plate
Competitive Concept: Again, see Meadow Plate

Rose Insence — Any none-direct damage (everything blocked by Magic Guard) applied to the enemy is doubled while the holder is on the field.
Flavor: Rose have thorns, plus in pokemon they are associated with pokemons that are part poison type (Roselia's line)
Competitive: A really interesting item for some Walls and Stallbreakers, who can now wear down enemies twice as fast with toxic or sandstorm. Plus it can prevent switches if a lot of hazards are on the field.

Black Belt (Recycled) Fonctions like a Focus Sash for fighting types, but it increases the user's Atk by 2 stages if it ever breaks (or gets Knocked Off). If the holder is not a fighting type, it doesn't carry the properties of a focus sash.
Flavor: It's a sash too, so I guess it explains the similar effect.
Competitive: I'm pretty sure Knock Off will be really common in this meta, so this item here is there to prevent spam. (The Knock Off boost is also on non-fighting types).

Rose Incense | Boosts the power of Grass-type moves by 1.2x -> Contact moves against the holder cause the attacker to lose 12% of their HP. The holder lowers the opponent's evasiveness by 1 on switch-in
Flavor Concept: Roses have thorns, which covers the damage to contact part and roses have a Sweet Scent, which is the evasiveness part
Competitive Concept: Sleep Powder users love having a free accuracy boost and Iron Barbs/Rough Skin are pretty good abilities to mimic. A great user of this would be Tangrowth, as it has the bulk to tank multiple contact moves and access to Sleep Powder which gets a boost in accuracy

Miracle Seed | Boosts the power of Grass-type moves by 1.2x -> Holder's Grass-type moves have a 20% chance to apply Leech Seed to the opponent
Flavor Concept: Seed is in the name
Competitive Concept: Leech Seed is a great but rare "status", so this makes it a lot easier to abuse for Grass-types and things with Grass coverage

Subs closing soon.

Meadow Plate | Holder's Grass-type attacks have 1.2x power. -> Holder's Normal-type attacks become Grass-type and holder resists Ground.
Flavor Concept: "Meadow" reminds me of Grassy Terrain. Grassy Terrain weakens some Ground moves. Grass in general resists Ground.
Competitive Concept: Remember Grassium-Z Heatran? This is him now. As for Arceus-Grass, it's now much better at checking Complete Zygarde and Double Dance Pdon.

Miracle Seed | Holder's Grass-type attacks have 1.2x power. -> Holder's Grass-type attacks do 1.3x damage. Each turn, if holder is a Grass-type, restores 1/16 max HP.
Flavor Concept: "A seed imbued with life." Boosts the same amount as Life Orb, heals as much life as Leftovers.
Competitive Concept: Better Leftovers for Grass-types. Things like Ferrothorn and Tapu Bulu appreciate it.

Rose Incense | Holder's Grass-type attacks have 1.2x power. -> Holder's Grass-type moves cures the user of all status conditions.
Flavor Concept: The item is associated with Roselia line who has Natural Cure and learns Aromatherapy. Out of the Incenses, Rose Incense probably smells the best and most Aromatherapy-like.
Competitive Concept: Another great option for bulky Grass-type Pokemon. Could make RestTalk sets on them more viable.

Fist Plate (Recycled) | Holder's Fighting-type attacks have 1.2x power. -> Holder's Normal-type attacks become Fighting-type, and boosts the power of holder's Punch moves by 50%
Flavor Concept: Type change because Arceus. Iron Fist boosts Punch moves so why not Fist Plate too?
Competitive Concept: Using the two effects of this item at once is going to be hard, seeing as Mega Punch, Comet Punch and Dizzy Punch honestly all suck. Still, this is great on something like Zeraora. As for Arceus-Fighting, gets no Punch moves but just Fighting E-Speed sounds annoying, checking its regular Extreme Speed variant.

Expert Belt (recycled)- Holder's Super Effective Attacks do 1.4x Damage
Flavor- Expert fighters exploit their opponent's weaknesses.
Competitive- Similar to the original, but i feel that the risk/reward of the original was too high for it to be used effectively. The power was nerfed a little bit but the downside was removed, allowing it to be used much more freely

don't really have anything else, i can't think of anything for Muscle Band, and the rest of the items have an option already submitted that I like.

Here's our second slate:
Scope Lens
Wide Lens
Zoom Lens

And our second Recycling slate:
Icicle Plate |
Holder's punching and kicking moves become Ice-type and have their base power multiplied by 1.5. (by FlameUser64)
Icy Rock |
Extends the duration of Hail weather set by the holder from 5 turns to 10. The holder is immune to Hail damage. (by FlameUser64)
Snowball |
The holder's Normal type moves become Ice type moves. (No damage bonus) (by Ghoul King)
Never-Melt Ice |
The holder takes 40% less damage from Ice- and Fire-type moves. (by FlameUser64)
Casteliacone |
The holder cannot be Burned. (by Ghoul King)

Submissions will last for a week.

Yo let me throw in my two cents:
Casteliacone | The holder cannot be burned. -> When held by an Ice-type, acts as a Lum Berry and restores 50% of the users health when consumed.
Flavor: The item descriptions says it can repel status conditions, plus ice cream is delicious, which helps with the regenerating health part.
Competitive: Now Ice-types can have a protection from status and a source of recovery! Especially useful on defensive Ice-types like Avalugg so it doesn't have to waste turns clicking Recover, or physically offensive Ice-types like Weavile or Mamoswine in order to not be crippled by a burn.

Icy Rock | Extends the duration of Hail weather set by the holder from 5 turns to 10. The holder is immune to Hail damage. -> Makes hail last 8 turns instead of 5 and if held by an Ice-type, boosts defense by 50% in hail.
Flavor: Inspired by Da Pizza Man's sub in V1 of this thread, Ice-types do not have a meaningful use for their weather. So, I made it a physically defensive clone of Sandstorm, plus hailstorms can help camouflage snowy creatures.
Competitive: Hail is now a much more viable weather in competitive due to Ice-types gaining the bulk they desperately need. Now Alolan Ninetales can actually take a hit to have an easier time setting up Aurora Veil, and Mega Abomasnow can have more chances to set up SD.

Icicle Plate | Holder's punching and kicking moves become Ice-type and have their base power multiplied by 1.5. --> Ice types take 20% damage less from super effective attacks and do 20% with their Ice type moves.
Flavour: Not really sure for the actual flavour behind it, but all I know is that its previous effect was ridiculous and couldn't be abused by any noteworthy Pokémon. Now any Ice type can use the Icicle Plate as their generic power buff.
Competitive: Ice types get a nice defensive buff while also getting a ddcent power buff in return.

Snowball | The holder's Normal type moves become Ice type moves. (No damage bonus) --> If held by an Ice type, every time it knocks out a foe, it gets its highest attacking stat raised by 1 stage.
Flavour: Snowballing is a common effect in Pokémon, with abilities such as Moxie, Beast Boost and Soul-Heart. So naturally, I made the Snowball item have a similar effect.
Competitive: Right now other than Hail sweepers in PU and perhaps Weavile in OU, not much Ice types can be actual sweepers. But for the ones that can, they can abuse the item well.

Subs close tomorrow.

Scope Lens
| Holder's critical hit ratio is raised by 1 stage. -> Holder's critical hit ratio is raised by 1 stage. If the move is super-effective against the opponent, it is raised by 2 stages instead.
Flavor Concept: "It's a lens for scoping out weak points."
Competitive Concept: An item meant for Pokémon with Sniper, Super Luck or those who rely on Stone Edge etc. On specific mons, it's a much better Expert Belt, on most others, it's worse.

Wide Lens | The accuracy of attacks by the holder is 1.1x. -> The accuracy of attacks by the holder is x1.333.
Flavor Concept: Same flavor, increased multiplier.
Competitive Concept: This item is basically holdable +1 stat modifier Accuracy. We have a few items that interact with Accuracy/Evasion already, some that bring even more good effects, but some bring unwanted negatives and some let opponent switch out. This is just Accuracy boost, nothing else attached.

Zoom Lens | The accuracy of attacks by the holder is 1.2x if it moves after its target. -> Increases the power of Beam and Light moves by 50%.
(Affected moves: all moves with "Beam" on their name, all moves with "Light" on their name, Prismatic Laser, Photon Geyser, Dazzling Gleam)
Flavor Concept: This item looks like a gun and could probably be used as a magnifying glass.
Competitive Concept: Your favorite Fairy-type Pokemon doesn't get Dazzling Gleam? The only coverage a Pokemon you want to use gets is Signal Beam? Fear not!

Icicle Plate (Recycled) | Holder's punching and kicking moves become Ice-type and have their base power multiplied by 1.5. -> Holder's Normal-type attacks become Ice-type. Restores 1/8 max HP if Ice-type, loses 1/8 if not.
Flavor Concept: First effect because P A T T E R N S. Second effect because giving Pokemon Ice-type coverage like that seems rather overpowered, so you're meant to use this item on Ice-types, which are weak defensively, so the Black Sludge-like heal is higher.
Competitive Concept: Ice-type Fake Out/Quick Attack Weavile. Kyurems with physical STAB. In lower tiers, unblockable Rapid Spin Sandslash-Alola. Also great on basically any Ice-type that would want to run Leftovers (No need to worry about them being OP - those are all either PU or untiered).

Icy Rock (Recycled) | Extends the duration of Hail weather set by the holder from 5 turns to 10. The holder is immune to Hail damage. -> Extends the duration of Hail weather set by the holder from 5 turns to 10. The holder is immune to Rock-type moves.
Flavor Concept: It's an... ice rock. Also follows the same effect as the winning Heat Rock.
Competitive Concept: Hail setters become able to switch in more easily, due to Stealth Rock immunity.

Increases the holder's critical hit ratio and accuracy one stage.
Flavor Concept: It's a lens, so it should increase accuracy regardless.
Competitive Concept: Good for Super Luck/Sniper moves that need an accuracy boost, as well as moves that need an accuracy boost in general, although the Wide and Zoom Lens will be more viable for those.
Moves with 70% accuracy or more always hit.
Flavor Concept: It's a better lens than the scope lens, so it increases accuracy more.
Competitive Concept: Good for using those moves that never hit.
Moves with 70% accuracy or more always hit and have their power multiplied by 1.2. Only if the target has already moved this turn.
Flavor Concept: It's the best lens, so it gives you knowledge of the opponent's weak spots.
Competitive Concept: Good for slower users of inaccurate moves.
Holder’s Ice type attacks have 1.2x power. Judgement is Ice Type -> Holders Normal type moves become Ice type.
Flavor Concept: Basically the Noble Items Meadow Plate except I feel that 1.2x power is balanced.
Competitive Concept: Basically Refrigerate the item. Can provide a major boost for those mons that need it. Kyurem-Black might be a little too strong.
Original effect - not recycled.
I don't think this item needs to be changed.
If the holder is hit by a Fire-type damaging move, it reduces the damage by 33%, it consumes the Snowball, and its Attack is increased by one stage.
Flavor Concept: Your Pokemon eat a snowball, causing their body temperature to drop. This item makes no sense.
Competitive Concept: Good for Scizor/Ferrothorn schenanigans.
The holder takes 30% less damage from Fire-type moves.
Flavor Concept: You give your Pokemon ice padding to resist heat.
Competitive Concept: Good for Pokemon that know they're going to be hit with Fire-type moves, although not necessarily viable by any means.
The holder cannot be Burned. Consumed when activated.
Flavor Concept: Your Pokemon are already nearly frozen, so they can't be burned at this point.
Competitive Concept: It prevents your Pokemon from getting its Attack cut in half by a burn for one turn, so it's useful.
