[OVERVIEW]
Servine is one of NFE's most defining Pokemon thanks to its great bulk and solid speed tier, allowing it to outpace common threats such as Monferno, Gabite, and Staravia. Its large supportive movepool allows it to compress many roles, while simultaneously functioning as a sweeper. It is the fastest hazard removal user and has good speed control in the form of Glare. It’s blessed with the combination of Leaf Storm and Contrary, which makes Servine an excellent Pokemon for offensive pressure, and gives it less of a need for team support or coverage in order to be effective. This notably lets it reliably check bulky setup sweepers, like Clefairy and Duosion, essentially functioning as a wallbreaker. With its very meager list of defensive checks, Servine often sees little issue with getting onto the field, and use Knock Off to cripple its few common switch-ins before switching out. However, Servine is very prone to being PP stalled, due to the low amount of PP of Leaf Storm. Its low Special Attack, along with poor coverage, means that it initially doesn’t hit most Pokemon particularly hard, relying heavily on Contrary boosts. Also, Pokemon such as Roselia, Grimer-Alola, and Sliggoo see little issue threatening it out before it becomes too problematic of a threat.

Moves
========
Leaf Storm lets Servine hit most opposing targets for solid damage, netting 2HKOes on common threats such as Electabuzz, Kadabra, and Gabite. It is able to do increasing amounts of damage each time it’s used, thanks to Contrary boosting its Special Attack. Synthesis is Servine's main method of staying healthy, so it can continue to threaten teams after being weakened by faster threats such as Electabuzz and Misdreavus. Glare allows Servine to cripple faster threats such as Frogadier, Haunter, and Kadabra and lets it to finish off weakened threats after they are paralyzed. Knock Off is a great tool to remove the opposing target’s item, usually Eviolite. This lets it or its teammates deal with common Servine checks like Roselia, Grimer-Alola, and Monferno easier. Since Servine has favourable matchup against common Stealth Rock users such as Clefairy, Marshtomp, and Gabite, Defog can be used over Knock Off or Glare, letting Servine compress the role of hazard removal onto teams at the cost of giving up some momentum.
Set Details
========
Contrary is Servine's largest selling point, letting it boost itself with Leaf Storm. This also lets it punish opposing Defogs by gaining evasion, and gain a boost in Speed against Sticky Web teams. Eviolite allows Servine to boost its defensive stats, giving it an easier time staying healthy. 184 EVs in HP and 252 EVs in SpD combined with a Calm Nature lets Servine avoid the 2HKO from Choice Scarf Frogadier’s Ice Beam. 72 Speed EVs allows Servine to outspeed Adamant Pawniard and non Choice Scarf Rufflet.
Usage Tips
========
Glare and Knock Off should be used often to help cripple down the opponent's defensive measures for handling Servine and its teammates. Knock Off in particular should be used early-game, when anticipating common switch-ins as it helps to wear them down for Servine’s teammates. Keeping Servine healthy is a very high priority, and opportune chances to heal should absolutely be used when possible as this will let it comfortably switch into special attackers such as Kadabra, Electabuzz, Frogadier, and Clefairy throughout a game. Whilst it can switch into Ground- and Water-types, such as Krokorok , Mareanie, Gabite, and Marshtomp with relative ease, it dislikes losing its Eviolite with the former two and does not appreciate switching into Toxic from the latter two.
Team Options
========
Flying resists such as Metang, Pawniard, and Electabuzz give Servine a hand when handling Vullaby, Togetic, and Rufflet. Bulky Fire resists, like Mareanie, Marshtomp, and Gabite, are essential teammates to ensure Fire-types don't make easy work of it. The latter two, along with Krokorok, are very solid Ground-type Pokemon capable of switching into Grimer-Alola and hitting back with a super effective Earthquake. Physical wallbreakers such as Machoke, Monferno, and Pawniard benefit greatly from Servine’s Glare and Knock Off support, since it allows them to break through walls more easily and not worry about getting revenge killed by a faster check. They also help Servine by breaking past special walls such as Roselia, Grimer-Alola, and Sliggoo. Physical walls such as Mareanie and Staravia appreciate Servine’s ability to deal with special attackers, such as Kadabra, Electabuzz, and Frogadier.

Moves
========
Leaf Storm is Servine's main method of attacking, and allows it to hit an incredibly large portion of the meta, in tandem with Contrary, making each hit progressively stronger, allowing for excellent wallbreaking ability. Synthesis gives Servine much-needed longevity, letting it have an easier time switching in. Hidden Power Fire gives Servine solid coverage, allowing it an easier time taking down threats such as Roselia, Klang, and Ferroseed, which would otherwise wall it. Knock Off allows Servine to wear down its checks. Glare is an alternative option to cripple faster Pokemon, such as Haunter, Magmar, and Misdreavus.
Set Details
========
Max Speed investment along with a Jolly nature lets Servine outspeed non-Choice Scarf Monferno, Staravia, and Gabite, which makes Servine harder to revenge kill since +2 Leaf Storm has a chance to KO after Stealth Rock. 252 EVs in Special Attack investment guarantees a 2HKO on common Pokemon such as Machoke, Monferno, Mareanie, Pawniard, Staravia, and physically defensive Clefairy.
Usage Tips
========
Servine is an excellent wallbreaker and sweeper with Leaf Storm, and while it is a very spammable attack, it only has 8 PP, and should be used conservatively for maximum effect. Pokemon such as Roselia, Grimer-Alola, and Monferno should be handled explicitly by teammates, unless they are severely weakened and in range of being knocked out by Servine in one turn. Servine should use Knock Off to remove Eviolite held by the aforementioned switch-ins to aid its teammates in breaking special walls for it. Servine comes in best against threats that it can resist hits of, such as Electabuzz, Mudbray, and Marshtomp, although it must be wary of Toxic or Yawn from the latter. Servine should be played aggressively late-game, as it becomes much harder to switch into its Leaf Storm at +2 and onwards.
Team Options
========
Slow VoltTurn cores such as Eelektrik and Vullaby are great for getting Servine onto the field. Kadabra and Haunter are able to wear down many of Servine's checks, with the latter also being able to burn and weaken Grimer-Alola, which is the best Pokemon at dealing with the core. Pokemon with Ground-type coverage such as Marshtomp, Gabite, and Machoke can all easily switch into Grimer-Alola and OHKO it with Earthquake, although none of them appreciate switching into Knock Off. Pokemon like Metang and Staravia,(RC) are much appreciated for their ability to check Roselia. Fire-types, such as Monferno and Magmar, also make for solid partners since they are able to draw in Water-types like Marshtomp and Mareanie, which let Servine switch in freely, except when they carry Toxic. Fairy-types such as Togetic and Clefairy can check Sliggoo for Servine, whilst also providing Heal Bell and Wish support.
[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Choice Scarf gives Servine a boost to its Speed, but locks Servine out of abusing its movepool, and is very rarely as beneficial over its normal sets. Giga Drain can be used as another move on Servine for recovery, however, it’s not as useful as its primary options, and offers no coverage. If Giga Drain is used, it should be used in conjunction with Leaf Storm and replace another primary option.
Checks and Counters (add in the ":")
===================
**Roselia**: Roselia is Servine's most prominent counter, and completely shuts Servine down when kept healthy. Natural Cure lets it stave off the effects of Glare, and its incredible Special Defense lets it wall Servine even without Eviolite. Hidden Power Fire can break a weakened Roselia at +4, but otherwise, Roselia can set Spikes on Servine, then proceed to knock it out with Sludge Bomb. However, it does not appreciate having its Eviolite removed when switching in.
**Frogadier** Unlike other Water-types, Frogadier is faster than Servine and has access to the coveted Protean, allowing it to change its typing to Ice for revenge killing, or Poison, to resist its mighty Leaf Storm.
**Sliggoo** With access to Sap Sipper and amazing special bulk, Sliggoo is able to switch into Servine with ease and use Servine as setup bait.
**Fire-Types** Fire-type Pokemon such as Monferno, Magmar, and Torracat can switch into Leaf Storm, and pressure the team with their STAB moves. However, none of these enjoy having their items removed or switching into Glare.
**Flying-Types** Flying-type Pokemon like Togetic and Vullaby can wall Servine with their typing while using Roost to keep healthy when forcing it out. However, they do not appreciate having their Eviolite removed or being crippled by paralysis.
**Poison-Types** Poison-type Pokemon such as Grimer-Alola and Haunter have the ability to switch in freely and do great damage with their STAB moves. Poisonium Z Haunter outspeeds Servine and is able to OHKO both common spreads.
**Fast Choice Scarf users** Speedy Choice Scarf users such as Frogadier, Monferno, and Staravia can revenge kill Servine effectively, but must be wary of its bulk, as if it lives the hit, they can be paralyzed by Servine's Glare.
