I'm late but Psychium Z Kingambit wins this slate, with Will-O-Wisp Cinderace winning the tie breaker of the previous one! Onto the next round...

Slate 6: Mega Diancie
:sv/diancie-mega:

Submissions end this Friday! Make Mega Diancie the Next Best Thing!

:ss/diancie-mega:
Diancie @ Diancite
Ability: Clear Body
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock / Spikes
- Diamond Storm
- Play Rough
- Explosion

:diancie-mega: Diancie-Mega often uses a mixed or full special attacking moveset, despite having equal base stat in attack as well. The basis of this set is to set up hazards, block hazards with magic bounce, and keep them up against Defoggers/Rapid Spin to preserve momentum. Diancie already threatens Pokémon who may carry Defog such as :tornadus-therian: Tornadus-Therian, :zapdos: Zapdos, :moltres: Moltres, and :corviknight: Corviknight (by threatening mystical fire, and corviknight doesn’t do much back anyways), but Pokemon like :great tusk: Great Tusk (Play Rough doesn't do as much as Moonblast), :Landorus-Therian: Landorus-Therian, :rotom-wash: Rotom-Wash, and :gliscor: Gliscor still threaten Diancie which gives them the chance to use Defog/Rapid Spin as Diancie switches out.

With Explosion, you can preserve momentum by blocking Defog/Rapid Spin (Both if there is no target, and there will be no target after using Explosion), and do a significant amount of damage in the process.

252 Atk:diancie-mega:Diancie-Mega Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def:landorus-therian:Landorus-Therian: 245-289 (64.1 - 75.6%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk:diancie-mega:Diancie-Mega Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def:rotom-wash:Rotom-Wash: 218-257 (71.7 - 84.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Leftovers recovery

252 Atk:diancie-mega:Diancie-Mega Explosion vs. 248 HP / 252+ Def:gliscor:Gliscor: 196-231 (55.5 - 65.4%) -- 97.7% chance to 2HKO after Poison Heal

252 Atk:diancie-mega:Diancie-Mega Explosion vs. 0 HP / 4 Def:great tusk:Great Tusk: 251-296 (67.6 - 79.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

252 Atk:diancie-mega:Diancie-Mega Explosion vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def:great tusk:Great Tusk: 189-223 (43.5 - 51.3%) -- guaranteed 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Not all these calcs are realistic, as some of these Pokémon do not carry max defense all the time.

:SV/Diancie-Mega:
Diancie-Mega @ Diancite :Diancite:
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Naive / Hasty Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Mystical Fire / Earth Power
- Rock Polish

Mega Diancie's biggest struggle as a wallbreaker is being revenge killed due to it's poor defensive typing, allowing for revenge-killers with a superior speed tier like Choice Band Zamazenta and Ghostium Z Dragapult to eliminate Mega Diancie. Mega Diancie's already explosive wallbreaking power and superb coverage, allows for it to effectively use Rock Polish, boosting it's speed beyond that of the aforementioned revenge-killers, making it a lot harder to shutdown. Rock Polish is especially useful since there are very limited methods of defensively checking it.

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Mystical Fire / Earth Power
- Magnet Rise

Allows Mega Diancie to combat Ground-types like Landorus-T and Great Tusk easier.

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 5 HP
- Moonblast
- Stealth Rock / Spikes
- Substitute
- Endeavor

Along with 5 HP IVs, it's capable of luring Blissey and Corviknight, however, the latter aren't used as much.

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Moonblast
- Diamond Storm
- Mystical Fire
- Heal Bell / Toxic / Encore

General utility which can be used if teammates already have entry hazards.

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Draining Kiss
- Stored Power
- Calm Mind
- Iron Defense

Allows Diancie to beat Toxapex and Clodsire, just generally hard to shutdown.

Timid Nature

- Meteor Beam

Mega Diancie is fantastic as a wallbreaker, but its also got the potential to completely shatter some of its checks by boosting with Meteor Beam and overpowering with Moonblast and Earth Power coverage.

:SV/Iron Moth: :Choice Scarf:
Iron Moth @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Quark Drive
Tera Type: Grass / Electric
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower / Fiery Dance
- Sludge Wave
- Energy Ball / Discharge
- U-turn

This isn't too far from the Choice Specs set but it's an arguably superior abuser of Quark Drive.

Ability: Quark Drive

EVs: 124 Def / 132 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fiery Dance
- Tera Blast
- Dazzling Gleam
- Psychic
Fun mon to use on HO setups with all the coverage it gets. Can be really hard to switch into especially with the general lack of experience against it on ladder, with quark drive it reaches an amazing speed tier, outspeeding most scarfers in the metagame and packing 349 spa to boot, alongside basically instantly ending games if fiery dance gives a spa boost. tblast is mainly for tran and the odd, and if you've got issues with fairies you can easily swap out dgleam or psychic for sludge wave. It's evd for maximum speed, with enough spa evs to be one point under speed, with the rest in defense so it has slightly more staying power, chosen over hp because shed tail subs don't care about moth's hp stat

(NVM RIP HO)

We will be rushing this slate due to me being busy in real life and forgetting to close this, so submissions end this Friday! See if you can make Urshifu-R the Next Best Thing!

Urshifu-Rapid-Strike @ Electrium Z
Ability: Unseen Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat / Surging Strikes
- Whirlpool
- Thunder Punch
- Taunt
Urshifu basically traps Toxapex using Whirlpool, prevents it from using Toxic/Recover with Taunt, and then fires off a fat Gigavolt Havoc to wear it down immensely. This also works on Pelipper, Slowbro, Dondozo, Tapu Fini, and any other bulky Water-type that believes they are safe against the Kung Fu Bear.
