Hey gamers! Gen 9 is here! There are lots of new mons, however balanced they may be, to explore as the new generation has hit. As an opportunity for a meta to develop, we will be having a Gen 9 Kickoff Tournament!
This tournament is an opportunity for us all to see the new Pokemon and the meta that they can fit in to. Will Flutter Mane dominate the tournament? Will terastallize manage to balance everything out? Or will Cinderace and Zamazenta prove to be balanced with the ability nerfs?
Note that this tournament DOES NOT count towards the National Dex 2022 Circuit, nor the 2023 Circuit.

Tournament-Specific Rules
- General tournament rules and regulations.
- Best of three, single elimination.
- If metagame changes occur during the middle of a round, they will take effect in the subsequent round.
- Battles must take place on Pokemon Showdown! or the SmogTours server
- Replays are mandatory to prevent disputes.
- This tournament will not count towards the ongoing 2022 National Dex Circuit or the yet-to-start 2023 Circuit.
- Species Clause: A player cannot have two Pokemon with the same PokeDex number on his team.
- OHKO Clause: The moves Horn Drill, Guillotine, Sheer Cold, and Fissure are banned.
- Endless Battle Clause: Anything capable of intentionally creating an endless battle is banned.
- Evasion Items Clause: Evasion items are banned
- Evasion Moves Clause: Evasion moves are banned
- Sleep Clause
