Tatsugiri is a decent Nasty Plot user that is able to threaten slower foes with its powerful STAB moves and it provides further utility by functioning as a spinner for teams that appreciate more hazard control. Magic Guard affords Tatsugiri some additional safety from entry hazards and chip damage from the likes of Salt Cure and Toxic. Instead of Hydro Pump, Surf can be used for more reliability. Tatsugiri is able to come in on and threaten spinblockers such as Skeledirge and Brambleghast, allowing it to use Nasty Plot or Rapid Spin on prediction. If left unchecked, Tatsugiri may be able to rack up enough boosts from Nasty Plot + Rapid Spin to serve as a frail sweeper. Due to its mediocre physical bulk, Tatsugiri appreciates physical walls such as Corviknight, which can also serve as a slow pivot to bring Tatsugiri safely into a favorable matchup. Tatsugiri also pairs well with physical attackers, such as Cinderace, that can threaten special walls such as Florges and Blissey, which Tatsugiri struggles against. Tatsugiri also appreciates entry hazards or other chip damage to secure KOs that it would typically miss, so Garganacl, with its ability to use Salt Cure and Stealth Rock, is a helpful teammate. Due to its low Speed, Tatsugiri appreciates faster teammates that can act as speed control, such as Chien-Pao or priority users such as Hatterene.

Magic Guard affords Tatsugiri some additional safety from entry hazards and chip damage from the likes of Salt Cure and Toxic. With Hydro Pump and Draco Meteor, backed by an above average Special Attack stat and Life Orb, Tatsugiri can launch surprisingly hard hits against opponents that do not resist its STAB combination.Don't need to explain that standard moves do damage. Would however mention that Surf > Hydro Pump can be used to sacrifice power for reliability. Tatsugiri is able to come in on and threaten spinblockers such as Skeledirge and Brambleghast, allowing it to use Nasty Plot or Rapid Spin on prediction. If left unchecked, Tatsugiri may be able to rack up enough boosts from Nasty Plot + Rapid Spin to using Nasty Plot and Rapid Spin and serve as a frail sweeper. Due to its mediocre physical bulk, Tatsugiri can hardly take a physical attack and thus appreciates physical walls such as Corviknight, whowhich can also serve as a slow pivot to bring Tatsugiri safely into a favorable match(space)up. Tatsugiri also pairs well with physical attackersappreciates physical threats, such as Cinderace, thatwho can threaten special walls such as Florges and Blissey, which Tatsugiri struggles against. Tatsugiri also appreciates entry hazards or other chip damage which allows it to secure KOs that it would typically miss, thus so Garganacl, with its ability to use Salt Cure and Stealth Rock, is a helpful team(space)mate. Would mention that fast teammates are good bc tatsu is so slow initially.
