Gen 3 My most successful team ever! too bad i missed smogon tour 3 signups...

I'm really proud of the way this team has performed. Unfortunately, I missed signups for tour 3, so this team isn’t going to get another big chance to shine. Oh well, out with the old, in with DP, and time for a team retirement. Tell me what you think.

Salamence (M) @ Choice Band ** Dekker
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Rock Slide

This guy is amazing. it's always been a favorite lead of mine. Counters celebi, and puts a dent into a lot of things. beats heracross too.

Swampert (F) @ Leftovers ** River Bike
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SAtk
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Protect

Counters TTar, Flygon, Salamence, etc. With it's special attack ev's, it KO's cb salamence.

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers ** The Stig
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Def / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Crunch
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Ice Beam

Probably my favorite pokemon on the team. A great special attacker that seriously surprises a lot of things. HP grass really wrecks swampert switch-ins.

Zapdos @ Leftovers ** Buttery Gold
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Spd / 60 SAtk / 170 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Thunderbolt

Takes status, and helps out against bulky waters.

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers ** The Dentist
Trait: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Spikes
- Toxic
- Whirlwind

The paradigm of defensive walls for the advance generation. fast enough to get two levels of spikes down if a mag switches in. whirlwind for bp teams.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers ** Eggsy
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Protect
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Wish

Provides awesome wish support, which is a huge plus. wish/protect makes it stall like hell. ha, it beats slaking too, i guess. Toxic is great on stall teams.

This team is great at stalling, attacking, and it has a few surprises too. it's been a great generation..

Great Sage

Banned deucer.
Salamence (M) @ Choice Band ** Dekker
Trait: Intimidate
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Rock Slide

Flamethrower over Fire Blast, as Thrower will still 2HKO Skarmory and OHKO Forretress. Please tell me you're using the 30/30/30/31/30/30 HP Flying.

Swampert (F) @ Leftovers ** River Bike
Trait: Torrent
EVs: 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 SAtk
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Curse
- Earthquake
- Ice Beam
- Protect

I'm not such a huge fan of Curse without Rest. IMO Surf/Hydro Pump would do better over Curse.

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers ** The Stig
Trait: Sand Stream
EVs: 252 HP / 6 Def / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Crunch
- Flamethrower
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Ice Beam

I don't get why you're using so much HP, as I would rather put some in Speed, but then again I don't know too much about full-special Tyranitar.

Zapdos @ Leftovers ** Buttery Gold
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 252 HP / 28 Spd / 60 SAtk / 170 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Hidden Power [Grass]
- Rest
- Sleep Talk
- Thunderbolt

My favorite STalk Dos spread is 252 HP/32 Speed/224 SDef with Modest. You get a few more overall points of stat with it.

Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers ** The Dentist
Trait: Keen Eye
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Hidden Power [Flying]
- Spikes
- Toxic
- Whirlwind

If you really want to mess up Baton Pass teams, use Taunt/Spikes/Drill Peck/Roar because Mr. Mime has gone out of fashion and if Smeargle gets Ingrain down, you can't phaze at all.

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers ** Eggsy
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 6 Spd
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Protect
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Wish

I much prefer Ice Beam, but it's your choice, I suppose.
You have a huge huge huge problem with McIceGar, as the only Pokemon on your team that isn't 2HKOed is Swampert, who lacks self recovery. Use Ice Beam over Toxic on Blissey to help with this problem.

I don't mean to come off as a jerk, but i've had a lot of success with this team in the past. It seems like most of the comments you're making are just based on your own preference, like my swampert moveset. Cursepert without rest works excellently with wish support, which my blissey provides. HP on ttar is there so that it survives CB/DDed Salamence/Tyranitar EQ, or unboosted Brick Break. Taunt is something i've tried out on skarmory, but i really like the hp loss for stalling. McIceGar can't do shit to swampert, which is why swampert is his counter. I guess you can always say if pokemon X beats pokemon Y, you've got issues, but with the wish support from blissey, i've been able to keep swampert alive and well through my matches.

I guess i posted this team to get some feedback on ev's, so I really appreciate the zapdos comment.

I would always count Swampert with Protect as self-recovery. Let's not forget that Protect is like doubling up your Leftovers once in a while, and of course that handy Wish support, which also helps the problem of Heracross Focus Punching in your face.

This is one of these teams you would call "solid" in Advance because about everything is addressed as far as possible - changing something would ruin the synergy. However, the problem with these kind of teams are Dugtrio and Magneton taking a dump on your main walls as well as Tyranitar, your main offense.
