Project Monotype Teambuilding Workshop V2

Hello! I was wondering if I could get a Mono Water Hyper Offence Mega-Sharpedo team.

194078

Sharpedo @ Sharpedonite
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Protect
- Crunch
- Psychic Fangs
- Ice Fang

Sharpedo has always been one I have overlooked for mega's that I am more comfortable with like Charizard X and Swampert. However, recently I decided to test him out and had a lot of fun with him. Please feel free to mess around with the spread to make it easier as I am not the best with making teams or sets. Also, if a mono water does not fit a mega-sharpedo, feel free to change it to mono-dark. I just know that usually mono waters use mega-swampert so I thought it might be fun to mix it up.

Thank yall in advance!!

I managed to do some of the requests. Read the descriptions for any potential other options that I listed below. I made these at an awkward moment seeing as generation 7, along with Monotype's tournaments are ending soon, but I hope you guys enjoy these anyways!

Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk

Ability: Beast Boost
EVs: 252 HP / 104 Def / 152 SpD

Gliscor @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 244 HP / 8 Def / 80 SpD / 176 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Earthquake
- Taunt
- Defog
- Roost

Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Multiscale
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Outrage
- Extreme Speed
- Superpower
- Fire Punch

Landorus-Therian (M) @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Knock Off
- U-turn
- Earthquake
- Stealth Rock

Charizard-Mega-Y @ Charizardite Y
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Solar Beam
- Focus Blast
- Roost

This is super late but I finally ended up doing it, sorry for the wait. I tried to make this team using a bulky offense type of approach, with Celesteela and Gliscor backing up our offensive Pokemon with their defensive support. Celesteela is more specially defensive oriented to do better against HP Electric Greninja that has been running around lately, but you can try out different spreads. Toxic is good for wearing things such as other walls down, and Flamethrower isn't needed considering Mega Charizard Y basically burns down the two types that it targets anyways. Gliscor is our team's Defog user, Flying teams typically prefer two but I couldn't really fit in that many. Gliscor is a pretty reliable Defog user because of its bulk, typing, Poison Heal, and access to Taunt, so hazards shouldn't be too much of a problem, though Defog is very important on this team to keep Dragonite's Multiscale and Mega Charizard Y in particular from getting beaned by Stealth Rock which can really suck. The speed EVs outspeed Nidoking, while 8 Defense EVs allow it to live Life Orb Bisharp's boosted Sucker Punch after Stealth Rock, but you can also take away the Defense if you want to be better against Nihilego. Dragonite's standard Choice Band set is good here, just being able to break through the opposition is nice. Landorus-T's set is kind of awkward, we have Knock Off and U-Turn for Psychic and pivoting respectively, as well as Stealth Rock because of the role compression it provides. It can outspeed and revenge kill threats like Tapu Koko and Greninja for this team, which is especially important. Mega Charizard Y's set is standard, and can pressure types like Flying, Dark, Steel, and Grass to name a few.

RahelGamer03

Tapu Koko @ Magnet
Ability: Electric Surge
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ice]
- U-turn
- Taunt

Clefable @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 240 HP / 252 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Moonblast
- Soft-Boiled

Klefki @ Leftovers
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunder Wave
- Toxic
- Spikes
- Flash Cannon

Tapu Bulu @ Rockium Z
Ability: Grassy Surge
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Stone Edge
- Substitute
- Horn Leech

Diancie-Mega @ Diancite
Ability: Magic Bounce
EVs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Hasty Nature
- Moonblast
- Psychic
- Diamond Storm
- Earth Power

Mimikyu @ Life Orb
Ability: Disguise
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Shadow Claw
- Shadow Sneak
- Play Rough

A standard-ish Fairy team with the Tapu Koko set you requested. Clefable is our Stealth Rock setter, and Knock Off is to cripple Alolan Muk by removing its pinch berry, while Rocky Helmet is cool for gaining more chip on defensive Celesteela when its forced to click Heavy Slam. 16 Speed EVs outspeeds defensive Celesteela, though you obviously get outsped by offensive variants. Klefki's set is to get sort of an edge against opposing Fairy teams which is why we have Flash Cannon, while it can also set Spikes and spread status for the teammates. If the set isn't working out that well, you could also try the traditional screens Klefki to support your other Pokemon. Rockium Z Tapu Bulu can hit Flying types such as Mandibuzz, Celesteela, Zapdos and Staraptor while boosted, while Substitute and Swords Dance lets you find more setup opportunities on things. Jolly outspeeds slower variants of Zapdos. Mega Diancie's coverage is a tossup, since we're running Stealth Rock on Clefable on this team. Earth Power hits Pokemon such as Magnezone and Mega Steelix, while Psychic gives you an edge against Poison by hitting Mega Venusaur. And to finish it off, we have Mimikyu, which just checks a shit ton of things using Disguise and can power through multiple types, namely Psychic, using Swords Dance along with Life Orb and an Adamant nature to improve damage output. Spikes and Stealth Rock support it. The thing with Fairy is that, while it doesn't have a lot of Pokemon it uses, there's a lot of different sets you can run on them, with many Pokemon on the type having multiple viable sets, Tapu Koko and Tapu Bulu in particular. I'd recommend trying other options with the team if this one doesn't work out, such as Defog Tapu Koko, Light Screen and Reflect Klefki, as well as different Tapu Bulu sets. I'm sure maroon can help you out if you ask him.

This isn't quite a hyper offensive Dark team, though its still a variant of offense that relies on U-Turn Mandibuzz for momentum and offensive Pokemon like Greninja, Hydreigon, and Mega Sharpedo to break. I tried to use Mega Sharpedo as the main form of speed control on this team, though not immediate. Ice Fang is good over Waterfall for stuff like Garchomp and Dragonite as well as Hydreigon, making it better against Dragon, though if you really wanted Water STAB then you'd try Liquidation over Waterfall. I used a defensive Stealth Rock set on Tyranitar because using it over Choice Band meant I could fit Mandibuzz, which is good on any variant of Dark due to the excellent defensive utility it provides. Hydreigon is the Choice Specs set that was requested to build around, though Taunt Hydreigon is amazing for breaking down teams so its definitely an option here, and Greninja's Toxic Spikes means that you can actually smack Normal with it. I find that Earth Power is generally more useful than Flash Cannon on it because it can't outspeed Mega Diancie either way and Earth Power hits Alolan Muk harder, which can be cool. Greninja is fucking insane in Monotype so its naturally a good pick on any Dark team, and this set has Grass Knot and Hidden Power Electric which can pressure Water, as well as Ground and Flying when paired with Ice Beam, and Z-Grass Knot nails Rotom-W. Toxic Spikes Greninja is crazy against Fairy teams that typically only carry Defog Tapu Koko as their removal sometimes, as well as other types like Electric, Psychic, and Normal seeing as you threaten the Defog users with your coverage. Alolan Muk and Mandibuzz is fairly standard, with Alolan Muk being the Curse set to sweep types like Fairy, Normal, Electric, Dragon to name a few, and Mandibuzz is standard defensive with U-Turn to grab momentum for this offensive team. 16 Speed EVs outspeeds Adamant Azumarill, while Jolly is getting a lot rarer nowadays so its not really worth creeping in my opinion. Krookodile can be used over Mandibuzz to run the original Choice Band Tyranitar set you requested, though it means dropping Defog and forcing you to play more carefully around things like Mega Lopunny and Mega Scizor.

As you wanted HO team around Mega Sharpedo, I quickly thought of it on a rain team, so added Pelipper which is the face of rain water teams, since Mega Sharpedo was the given Pokemon, i cannot use Mega Swampert so decided on using Seismitoad which fills up the role of a Stealth Rock setter and swift swim user in the rain. I originally had Life orb on it as I completed building the team but wanted the team to have a Z move user so went Ground Z on seismitoad instead of Life orb as without life orb recoil it can hang around longer and do some surprise damage vs Pokemon like Mega Venusaur, taking it out once it is weakened enough. Greninja is sporting a Expert belt set with bolt beam coverage and grass knot which helps the team vs opposing water teams, Spikes support is appreciated by Mega Sharpedo and the team in general. Scarf Keldeo is used because I wanted the team to have some proper speed control outside of rain. Lastly, Tentacruel provides the team with essential utility support with Toxic Spikes, Rapid Spin and the able to switch into threats like Mega Venusaur and punish Tapu bulu due to its ability liquid ooze or take it out with Sludge bomb. I hope you enjoy this team and if you have questions, then feel free to pm me.

Hello! Requesting a Fighting mono team built around Infernape!

Infernape @ Electrium Z
Ability: Iron Fist
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Close Combat
- Thunder Punch

Infernape is a Pokémon I enjoy using once it goes for Swords Dance, doing massive damage. It's also a great Water Lure with Electrium Z, nuking Toxapex. However, infernape is frail and might not like switching in. If I should change anything, let me know.

Thanks!!!

Let me preface this by saying that Fighting is often viewed as a low tier type in Monotype because it has trouble beating relevant types like Electric, Fairy, Psychic, and Flying to name a few consistently which hampers its success, while its also prone to Toxic Spikes. Not having Kommo-o's Z-Move is also not the best thing, so this team's iffier than standard Fighting teams where you could just click its Z-Move and claim a few kills. Anyway, Infernape was the Pokemon that was requested to be built around, and I kept it as it is. Cobalion's moveset is fairly standard, though I decided to go a different route and try out Mental Herb instead of Leftovers on it. Mental Herb lets you break through Tornadus-T, Aerodactyl, Deoxys-S, and Kommo-o's Taunt, setting Stealth Rock on the former three and paralyzing all four, effectively guaranteeing Stealth Rock against Flying teams. Mega Gallade is a really nice wallbreaker and setup sweeper which can threaten a multitude of types, namely Water, Poison, and Psychic for this team, while it and Cobalion can also take Psychic-type attacks like Latios's Psychic. Choice Specs Keldeo is fairly standard, and appreciates Cobalion paralyzing Tornadus-T for it to take down. Choice Scarf Terrakion is on this team for speed control, and the last move is a tossup between Iron Head and Poison Jab. I opted for Hawlucha in the last slot for setup and cleans when the other teammates are weakened, and also serves as a Ground immunity. Other options you could try are Calm Mind + Taunt Keldeo to have an easier time against Toxapex, as well as Shadow Sneak Mega Gallade for priority. Infernape itself is kinda hard to use on Fighting because it's not especially strong so most of the time it's used as a lead. I hope you have fun with the team either way!

Hello! I´ve recently started playing pokemon showdown and i´ve found monotypes to be the mode I enjoy the most. I´m pretty much a newbie and I do not know how to make an actual team myself. I´ve heard that normal monotypes are good for beginners and also my favourite pokemon is a normal type (Staraptor). I would like to request a defensive style of team (if possible) that includes Staraptor as its core:

staraptor.gif

Staraptor @ Leftovers
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 252 HP / 200 Def / 56 Spe
Impish Nature
- Brave Bird
- Roost
- Defog
- U-turn

Thanks in Advance!

Hi, I used to have a bug mono that performed very well, and after taking a break from showdown for a few months, I'd like to have another one. I was destroyed by shuckle a bunch of times *ik embarrassing* but I am requesting a team that is built around Shuckle and my Favourite bug mono poke, mega pinsir. I always sucked at building mono teams, so could someone make this one please? Oh and by the ways, can it be a gen 7 team?

Shuckle @ Mental Herb
Ability: Sturdy
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpD
Impish Nature
- Sticky Web
- Stealth Rock
- Encore
- Toxic

Pinsir @ Pinsirite
Ability: Hyper Cutter
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Return
- Quick Attack
- Close Combat

Thank you!

Hey, I was wondering if I could get a flying monotype team built. The only Pokemon that are available are gens 1-4, but the moves available are up to gen 7. However, there is nothing like Mega Pokemon. The rules will be below. I would prefer for the team to be based around Zapdos, whose stats I will post below as well. I also have a Moltres that can be included if wanted but I have heard that it isn't really viable. Along with everything previously mentioned. I am very new to Pokemon pvp in general. I know type advantages but nothing like advanced strategies and setups. If needed, I could probably learn whatever team is thrown at me, but I am certainly not opposed to a beginner friendly team. Thanks in advance!

Rules - This rules will follow the Smogon BW format, the only banned pokemon are the pokemon that have the tag Uber from this list, https://www.smogon.com/dex/bw/formats/uber/ - Evasion moves and OHKO moves are banned.

Zapdos @ No Item
Ability: Pressure
EVs: Not Yet EV Trained
IVs: HP: 28, Atk: 24, Def: 17, SpA: 21. SpD: 23, Spe: 14
Sassy Nature
- Pluck
- Peck
- Zap Cannon
- Discharge
(Moves came with the Zapdos)
I don't require TM's or anything for moves, so don't worry about that

Thanks!
