Kommo-o + Druddigon
Tag : CCS2Dr4
Hall of Fame Rankings:

Platinum: 1600+
Gold: 1475+
Silver: 1350+
Bronze: 1250+
Kommo-o - One of the most relevant newer Pokemon that Dragon got this generation, Kommo-o is a force to be reckoned with. Thanks to its Z-move that it earned in USM, Kommo-o has become a huge threat to many teams, and on a type that already offensively tears apart many teams, it was a welcome addition. While it may be extremely weak to fairy thanks to its fighting typing, it also allows it to deal with a tough matchup for dragon, Steel. This STAB combination allows Kommo-o to beat most teams once its checks have been eliminated. It also has options as to what it can run with its Z-move, it can choose to be a stallbreaker with Taunt, increase its threatening sweep potential with Dragon dance, or further increase its coverage with moves like Earthquake and Flamethrower. Overall, Kommo-o has a lot going for it, and can find itself fitting very well on most dragon teams.
Druddigon - Despite being an unranked pokemon, it still has a niche that can be quite handy for certain teams. Thanks to its ability Mold Breaker, Druddigon is able to always get Stealth Rocks down in front of Pokemon like Mega-Sableye and Mega-Diancie. Along with this, its access to Glare also helps it slow down threatening Pokemon like the previously mentioned Mega-Diancie and other fast threats. Druddigon also has access to Taunt and Dragon Tail, which allow it to stop slower walls from setting up hazards or using status moves. This also allows Druddigion to not become setup bait. While I may have talked it up quite a bit, its flaws are still very apparent as its very slow, relies on a focus sash to maximize its potential, and is relatively frail compared to Garchomp. Its unique niche does give it a relatively small amount of usability though.

Mega Tyranitar + Cacturne
Tag: CCS2Da4
Hall of Fame Rankings:

Platinum: 1600+
Gold: 1475+
Silver: 1350+
Bronze: 1250+
Mega Tyranitar - Mega Tyranitar is a very good sweeper for dark teams despite its defensively troubling typing. Due to its stellar stats and access to Dragon Dance, Mega Tyranitar is able to become a very potent and dangerous sweeper to many teams. Its coverage options with Fire Punch, Ice Punch and Earthquake allows it to hit many threats and dish out lots of damage to incoming walls. Overall, this pokemon is extraordinary offensively, but due to its exploitable typing it is held back from being as good as Mega-Sableye on Dark teams.
Cacturne - Cacturne returns from its prior appearance on CLC with a different Mega evolution! This pokemon helps immensely against water teams and completely walls Toxapex unless it has Toxic. With Sucker Punch, Thunder Punch, Seed Bomb, and Swords Dance it is able to threaten most opposing water teams and Ground teams, while still threatening other teams thanks to its priority and ability in Water Absorb. While it may not be the best Pokemon to use on dark teams, its niche is definitely one that can't be ignored.

Note: This project is now lead by Namranan and cohosted by Perish Song. So now all questions and suggestions regarding to CLC should be directed towards us now and not Illama, the former leader.

To register to participate in a core challenge, you must reply to this forum with the proper information to be eligible! See the example post below for details. This also applies for submitting peaks (with that said please keep all of your information onto 1 post)! Otherwise, refer to the Index Thread for the official rules and info on this project. Please make sure to post replays of your Hall of Fame Rankings, failure to do so will result in your post being ignored.

In order to win this challenge, one player must obtain the highest ladder peak with the given core. In order to be eligible for winning the challenge you have to either post a replay of your peak (Highest elo reached) or take a screenshot of your accounts highest rank on ladder. The person with the highest rank at the end of the week is the winner of the challenge and will get posted in a new hall of fame in the Index thread along with the team they were using. If you win, please PM the team to Perishing Song or Namranan along with a brief description of the team and how you got the elo you got to. (Replays are much appreciated)

Remember to keep track of your Win/Loss ratio because the person with the best ratio out of 30 games can get a shoutout after the challenge has ended. To submit your Win/Loss ratio just take a screenshot of your record and post it in your registration. The team with the best record will be added to its own Hall of Fame. That being said, if you win the challenge you must PM Namranan or Perishing Song your team with a brief description of how it works. If you do this even without winning you will still have your team posted in an honorable mentions section. You get 1 extra point this cycle if you submit your team.

Have Fun!

Druddigon was much better than I was expecting. Mold Breaker Stealth Rock is really good, especially against teams that rely on Magic Bounce to keep away hazards like Rock and Fairy HO. I ran a bulky set with a Roseli Berry that had enough Speed to outrun Paralysed Mega Diancie. It nearly always managed to get Rocks up and/or paralyse something. Kommo-o is just fantastic, it sweeps Steel teams easily once Skarmory's dead.

Also congrats to Trichotomy for being the only one to achieve a platinum rank for the Dark core!

As a reminder, Trichotomy and ChrystalFalchion must PM me or Perish their teams so that we can add them to the hall of fame!
