Mew @ Sitrus Berry
Ability: Synchronize
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Spikes
- Snarl
- Will-O-Wisp
- Tailwind

Well-known as one of the best utility Pokemon in the metagame, Mew has recently branched out to play a unique niche with Spikes, even becoming the forefront of the corresponding team archetype: hazard stacking. Aside from reducing the foe's offenses, Will-O-Wisp and Snarl put them in a predicament: they are forced to switch out to reset Special Attack drops or avoid being crippled, and doing so makes them susceptible to Spikes the next time they enter the field. Mew's solid Speed tier also lets it threaten foes like Urshifu-R, Heatran, and Genesect even before taking their hit. Tailwind allows teammates such as Landorus and Heatran to keep up with opposing offensive threats that would otherwise overwhelm Mew quickly. Tyranitar is an exceptional partner, as it forms a hazard stacking core with Mew by providing Stealth Rock, summons sand to crank up even more passive damage, and phazes foes with Dragon Tail to force entry hazard damage on them. Teammates like Choice Band Genesect and Calm Mind Tapu Fini can take advantage of the weakened opposition to clean up or sweep late-game easily; the latter also appreciates Mew crippling Rillaboom, one of its best offensive checks, for it to set up unperturbed.
