Mega Mirrors (Slate 16.5 - Discussion)

Sableye: Failure999, MegaFlareon, God of Llamas
Scizor: MegaFlareon, God of Llamas, Failure999
Sharpedo: MegaFlareon, God of Llamas, Yoshiblaze

Also had issues with time, but wanted to get my vote in.

not very on time results

Sableye

Scizor
Failure999 - 3 + 2 + 2 + 1 = 8
MegaFlareon - 2 + 1 + 1 + 3 = 7
God of Llamas - 1 + 3 + 3 + 2 = 9

Sharpedo

God of Llamas - 3 + 2 + 2 + 2 = 9

Name of Pokemon: Sableye-Mega Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Sablenite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Tough Claws
New Mega's Stats: 50 / 135 / 75 / 45 / 65 / 100 (+60 Atk, -20 SpA, +10 SpD, +50 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Meteor Mash, U-turn
Flavor (Optional): Sableye get by with their favourite diet of stones and crystals, and as a result, many of the stones undigested by this Pokemon become part of its body, surfacing and staying on its skin. Through the power given off by the mega stone, the minerals inside its body and hardens around its skin, especially around its hands, causing them to become extremely sharp around its claws. It last gets a massive boost in its body strength and sight, allowing it to hunt for days without rest and even see in the dark, making for great thieves if they end up inside a city, though there they fight against any Weavile they encounter, typically slaying and eating their corpses without a worry thanks to its power. In the wild, they attack freely and without mercy, hunting down and killing Carbink without mercy. (Sun Pokedex entry)
Competitive Description: Bisharp with a better speed, no Swords Dance and Defiant in exchange for Elemental Punches and Tough Claws. Its status movepool is still the annoyance it will always be, with Hone Claws, Will-o-Wisp, Taunt, and so on. That, and U-turn, also allow it to be unique from other Tough Claw Megas, with it able to pull of a support role with pivoting abilities.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Scizor Y
Name of New Mega Stone: Scizorite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Flash Fire
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 160 (+30) / 100 / 55 / 110 (+30) / 105 (+40) (BST: 600)
New Moves (if any): Bulk Up, Flare Blitz

Name of Pokemon: Sharpedo
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Sharpedonite Y
New Mega's Type: Water/Dragon
New Mega's Ability: Turboblaze
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 120 / 40 / 145 / 75 / 110 (+50 SpA, +35 SpD, +15Spe)
New Moves (if any): Dragon Pulse
Flavor (Optional): Sharpedo gets a lot more turbo.
Competitive Description: Dragon-typing may catch opponents off-guard upon Mega-Evolution. Turboblaze lets it ignore abilities such as Thick Fat, Multiscale, and Magic Bounce (w/Taunt).

Discussion Phase, hopefully I'll remember to make this one a particularly short one to make up for a long voting phase

Attempting to at least try this time around
Name of Pokemon: Sableye-Mega Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Sablenite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Tough Claws
New Mega's Stats: 50 / 135 / 75 / 45 / 65 / 100 (+60 Atk, -20 SpA, +10 SpD, +50 Spe) (BST=600)
New Moves (if any): Meteor Mash, U-turn
As I mentioned in my analysis, its supposed to be a fast physical attacker that makes up for no Life Orb with Tough Claws. It may face competition from Bisharp, which doesn't take up a mega slot, has Swords Dance for more power in one turn, and Defiant. However, Sableye's ability to pivot with U-turn, cause inconvenience to even Landorus-Thedian with Will-o-Wisp and Knock Off, and having a much more powerful Steel STAB in Meteor Punch should give this guy a chance.

Sample Set:
Sableye @ Sablenite Y
Ability: Prankster
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Meteor Mash
- Knock Off / Pursuit
- U-turn / Taunt
- Will-o-Wisp / Recover / Hone Claws

Name of Pokemon: Mega Scizor Y
Name of New Mega Stone: Scizorite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Flash Fire
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 160 (+30) / 100 / 55 / 110 (+30) / 105 (+40) ( +30 Atk, +30 SpD, +40 Spe) (BST: 600)
New Moves (if any): Bulk Up, Flare Blitz
One of the many 'You suck, Mega Charizard Y!' Pokemon that exists, this Pokemon excels at forcing mind games 'Do I Fire Blast this Pokemon and risk a Flash Fire Boost, or use a Water / Flying move and accidentally let him set up +2 Technician Mega Scizor?" Yea, that Flash Fire boost + 165 base attack + Swords Dance + 105 spent round off makes every pokemon even Landorus afraid to switch in for risk of a Flare Blitz. Pivoting ability in U-turn also makes for an unpredictable Pokemon, hence, letting it soar above the clouds in viability and be really only held back by Stealth Rocks.

Sample Set:
Scizor @ Scizorite Y
Ability: Light Metal (You really don't need Technician anyways)
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- U-turn / Bug Bite
- Superpower / Knock Off
- Swords Dance / Defog / Roost

Name of Pokemon: Sharpedo
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Sharpedonite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Turboblaze
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 120 / 40 / 145 / 75 / 110 (+50 SpA, +35 SpD, +15 Spe) (BST=560)
New Moves (if any): Dragon Pulse

I'll quip in with my obligatory discussion post later, but in the meantime

Slate 13 - Hoenn Confirmed:

Mega Blaziken Y: Ability Limit of 4.5
Mega Sceptile X: Ability Limit of 4
Mega Swampert Y: Ability Limit of 4

Blaziken has to be made for Ubers as normal Blaziken is Ubers, so keep that in mind

Deadline is May 2nd

Name of Pokemon: Sceptile
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]:Sceptilite X
New Mega's Type: Grass/Fighting
New Mega's Ability: Super Luck
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 145 / 95 / 105 / 95 / 120 (+60 Atk, +30 Def, +10 SpD)
New Moves (if any): Cross Chop, Focus Energy
Flavor (Optional): Upon Mega-Evolution, Sceptile gains more muscle and luck.
Competitive Description: With the help of Super Luck, Leaf Blade gets a 50% critical hit ratio, allowing it to plow through bulky set-up sweepers. Cross Chop, a powerful Fighting STAB with high critical hit ratio, is a good option if you can stomach its accuracy. Its added bulk allows it to set up a Swords Dance more comfortably.

Name of Pokemon: Blaziken
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Blazikenite Y
New Mega's Type: Fire/Flying
New Mega's Ability: Reckless
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 160 / 90 / 120 / 90 / 90 (+40 Atk, +20 Def, +10 SpA, +20 SpD, +10 Spe
New Moves (if any): Wild Charge
Flavor (Optional): Blaziken can finally fly!
Competitive Description: It may seem outclassed by Ho-Oh but its power and coverage greatly exceed it. Its Brave Bird and Flare Blitz are ridiculously powerful while High Jump Kick and Wild Charge cover Rock- and Water-types such as Arceus-Rock and Primal Kyogre.

Name of Pokemon: Swampert
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Swampertite Y
New Mega's Type: Water/Poison
New Mega's Ability: Unaware
New Mega's Stats: 100 / 120 / 120 / 115 / 120 / 60 (+10 Atk, +30 Def, +30 SpA, +30 SpD)
New Moves (if any): Sludge Bomb
Flavor (Optional): Swampertite Y has a lot of pollutants that give Swampert body toxins. Mega Swampert Y remains oblivious about it, however.
Competitive Description: A defensive mega that give Mega Venusaur a run for its money. Upon Mega Evolution, Swampert notably loses its Grass weakness while also gaining a huge amount of bulk. Unaware allows it to wall set-up sweepers.

Anyone who gets the references get a cookie.

"YES SIR! Crossfire Hurricane!"
Name of Pokemon: Blaziken-Mega-Y [UBERS]
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Blazikenite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Contrary
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 130 / 70 / 170 / 70 / 110 (+10 Atk, +60 SpA, +30 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Hammer Arm
Flavor (Optional): Blazikens are proud creatures, pokemon that define themselves by their courage and determination. Their two mega stone amplify one side of Blaziken each, with Blazikenite X boosting its courage, allowing to face down any for without fear of its opponent, while Blazikenite Y unleashes its determination, causing it to go all out no matter the situation. One would expect it to tirelessly all the faster, but thanks to the mega stone, the knowledge that it went all out gives it joy and encouragement, and as a result boosting it instead. The two mega forms act as role models and leaders for their kind, showing them that it is possible to rise above all.
Competitive Description: Yes, I'm allowing the monster straight out of BH into here. This thing abuses Superpower, Hammer Arm and Overheat without fear, becoming harder and harder to stop with every move. Its coverage is lackluster, but its STABs are strong enough to overlook that. Honestly, there isn't much to say other than fear Earth Power Groudon-Primal and Salamence-Mega

"Lies and Betrayals! Trouble on the water!"
Name of Pokemon: Swampert-Mega-Y
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Swampertite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Multiscale
New Mega's Stats: 100 / 120 / 140 / 85 / 130 / 60 (+10 Atk, +50 Def, +40 SpD)
New Moves (if any): Shore Up, Heavy Slam
Flavor (Optional): Through the power of the Mega stone, Swampert’s body hardens significantly, becoming harder than titanium and tougher than diamonds. It also becomes more stronger in order to move around its admired body with ease. It is, sadly enough, no longer able to swim around as fast as it used to, and now typically bunkers down, only moving around should it be necessary. Oddly enough, it is very passive, even to strangers, and is willing to offer other sea creatures refuge in its home assuming they’re sensible enough to be grateful. Mess with him though, and you’re in for a bad time.
Competitive Description: This boy takes its grass weakness and throws it out of the window, utilising its great typing to wall monsters like Protean Greninja packing Low Kick, Tornadus lacking Fighting coverage, and others. While it will face and offer competition to the likes of Mega Aggron and Celesteela, its access to recovery and unique typing should be enough to distinguish it from others quite easily.

"Take this! Sunlight Yellow Overdrive!”
Name of Pokemon: Sceptile-Mega-X
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Sceptilite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Skill Link
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 140 / 85 / 115 / 85 / 135 (+55 Atk, +20 Def, +10 SpA, +15 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Icicle Spear, Arm Thrust
Flavor (Optional): WIP
Competitive Description: Get it? It’s a Christmas Tree! Utilising its sky high speed, Skill Link STABs in Bullet Seed and Icicle Spear, coverage in Earthquake, and boosting in Swords Dance. it punches holes in even some of the toughest faces of OU with its power and speed. It’ll face competition from Mega Abomasnow and other Ice types like Weavile and Mamoswine, not to mention that horrid typing defensively, but its upsides should give it a chance in OU.

New Mega's Ability: No Guard
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 145 / 95 / 105 / 85 / 130 (+60 Atk, +30 Def, +10 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Power Whip, High Jump Kick
Flavor (Optional): Mega Sceptile X uses its razor sharp leaves as weapons, and trains as a Samurai esq warrior.
Competitive Description: Mega Sceptile X is a fearsome physical wallbreaker with access to high powered BP attacks. It can also boost away with Swords Dance to make its attacks even more powerful.

Name of Pokemon: Blaziken
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Blazikenite Y
New Mega's Type: Fire/Electric
New Mega's Ability: Sheer Force
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 140 / 70 / 150 / 80 / 110 (+20 Atk, +40 SpA, +10 SpD, +30 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Thunderbolt, Earth Power
Flavor (Optional): Mega Blaziken Y is teeming with pent up energy, which it releases by firing electric jolts in its kicks.
Competitive Description: Yes. It has a hard as hell time against the beast known as PDon. But we have Sheer Force Earth Power to at least dent it on the switch. Otherwise, Mega Blaziken Y is a powerful sweeper, hitting most of the walls in the tier hard.

Name of Pokemon: Sceptile
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Sceptilite X

New Mega's Ability: No Guard
New Mega's Stats: 70 / 145 / 95 / 105 / 85 / 130 (+60 Atk, +30 Def, +10 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Power Whip, High Jump Kick
I really like this sub, though No Guard would give something with 130 Speed access to a No Guard Grass Whistle. I recommend changing the ability to Compound Eyes (or a clone of it with a more flavorful name), as it give Power Whip and HJK over 100% accuracy, makes Grass Whistle only 71.% accuracy, and means that Fire Blasts and Blizzards can miss you.

Name of Pokemon: Sceptile
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Sceptilite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Super Luck
New Mega's Stats:

SPD 85 (+ 15) => 100
SPE 120 (+ 0) => 120
BST 530 (+ 100) => 630
New Moves (if any): Knock Off, Shadow Claw
Flavor (Optional): Gonna draw it.
Competitive Description: Spam crits everywhere. Super Luck + High crit ratio move (Leaf Blade, Night Slash) = crit. Sceptile can finally make full use of its (nearly) exclusive move. Example set:

Sceptile @ Sceptilite X
Ability: Overgrow -> Super Luck
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Leaf Blade
- Night Slash
- Earthquake / coverage

New Moves (if any): Knock Off, Sucker Punch
Flavor (Optional): Mega Sceptile X is much sneakier than its base form. When in advantageous terrain like the branches of trees, it becomes scarily fast and strong.
Competitive Description: Fast physical attacker. With Bulu as its teammate, becomes one of the fastest mons in OU, and helps Bulu deal with certain threats like Ash-Gren, in a similar way to Kartana, hitting less hard but being much faster. STAB priority in Sucker Punch also helps.

Mmm I'm afraid that Triage + Strength Sap would be too much. Either replace Strength Sap or change the Ability.

Now begins another discussion phase, but as a special surprise...

MEGA MIRRORS HAS A DISCORD

Quite a bit overdue, but we have one now. On the Discord, you can find opponents to battle, share ideas, write PokeDex entries, and just chat! Link in the HIDE box below!

No time like the present for the FINAL NORMAL SLATE OF MEGA MIRRORS (unless Game Freak does some crazy stuff in Sw/Sh). These are the last 3 normal Mega Evolutions that need counterparts. After this, Slate 15 will be a special legendary slate with special rules (Groudon, Kyogre, Rayquaza, Necrozma). Then there will be the buffing slates for pre-existing RU and below Megas, then tournaments and balancing!

Slate 14:

Mega Slowbro X: Ability Limit of 4
Mega Steelix Y: Ability Limit of 4
Mega Venusaur Y: Ability Limit of 3.5

It's been a pretty smooth ride for the last ~7 months. Activity hasn't always been the highest for those 7 months, but I greatly appreciate those who have stuck with this mod for nearly the whole time (particularly Failure999, MegaFlareon, and God of Llamas)

Let's make this last normal slate a good one!

It's been a pretty smooth ride for the last ~7 months. Activity hasn't always been the highest for those 7 months, but I greatly appreciate those who have stuck with this mod for nearly the whole time (particularly Failure999, MegaFlareon, and God of Llamas)
Let it be said that I joined barely halfway in, as compared to the others that were here at the beginning, but I still also want to echo a huge Thank You to everyone that has submitted to this pet mod, especially to those that stuck around for a long time. With that said, let’s get to it.

Name of Pokemon: Slowbro
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Slowbronite X
New Mega's Type: Water/Fighting
New Mega's Ability: Compound Eyes
New Mega's Stats: 95 / 75 / 110 / 130 / 80 / 100 (+30 SpA, +70 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Muddy Water
Flavor (Optional): Upon Mega Evolution, Slowbro becomes a Fastbro. Mega Slowbro X enjoys its increased mobility.
Competitive Description: Mega Slowbro X surprises middling speed wallbreakers by hitting them first thanks to its huge speed boost. Examples include Mega Scizor and Tapu Bulu. Coumpound Eyes lets it use its high-powered moves comfortably, such as Blizzard, Fire Blast, and most importantly, Focus Blast (STAB). I chose to add Muddy Water over Hydro Pump just for something different, and the accuracy loss can annoy some opponents.

Name of Pokemon: Steelix
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Steelixite Y
New Mega's Type: Rock/Ground
New Mega's Ability: Rock Head
New Mega's Stats: 75 / 155 / 170 / 55 / 75 / 80 (+70 Atk, -30 Def, +10 SpD, +50 Spe)
New Moves (if any): Head Smash, Flare Blitz
Flavor (Optional): Steelix loses its Metal Coat upon Mega Evolution, reminiscing its younger days as an Onix.
Competitive Description: This is what Onix should have been. A bulky powerhouse also capable of hitting hard. Like Onix, Mega Steelix Y is also quite fast, enabling it to outspeed wallbreakers.

Name of Pokemon: Venusaur
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Venusaurite Y
New Mega's Type: Grass/Fire
New Mega's Ability: Flash Fire
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 122 / 83 / 120 / 140 / 80 (+40 Atk, +20 SpA, + 40 SpD)
New Moves (if any): Fire Fang, Flame Wheel
Flavor (Optional): Too much Chlorophyll has set Venusaur's flower on fire.
Competitive Description: Stealth Rock weakness aside, Grass/Fire is a good defensive typing especially when aided by Flash Fire. This, along with a high Special Defense stat, allows it to wall Pokemon like Heatran, Volcanion, and Mega Charizard Y. I chose not to give it powerful Fire-type moves as it might make classic Venusaur overpowered if it could plow through its counters such as Ferrothorn. Its Fire-typing is used for defensive purposes, anyway.

Name of Pokemon: Steelix
Name of New Mega Stone [X or Y]: Steelixite Y
New Mega's Type: Steel/Fire
New Mega's Ability: Heavy Metal
New Mega's Stats: 75 / 105 (+20) / 210 (+10) / 55 / 95 (+30) / 70 (+40)
Weight: 670 kg (+270 kg)
New Moves (if any): Heat Crash, Slack Off
Flavor (Optional): Molten Metal
Competitive Description: Bulky and strong attacker that can abuse Heavy Metal along with STAB Heavy Slam and Heat Crash. Can also set Rocks and stay healthy with Slack Off. Competes with Heatran as a rocker in OU, trading speed for more defensive capabilities. It also takes up your mega slot so Heatran definitely isn't outclassed here.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Slowbro X
Name of New Mega Stone: Slowbronite X
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Moxie
New Mega's Stats: 95 / 115 (+40) / 130 (+20) / 110 (+10) / 110 (+30) / 30 (BST: 590)
New Moves (if any):
Dark Pulse, Knock Off

Flavor (Optional): The toxins in the Shellder continue to course through Mega Slowbro X, corrupting both its mind and body. At this point, the Slowbro is not in control, and the Shellder only uses its body as a vessel to increase its power.

Justification: Mega Slowbro X shares the same fantastic bulk that makes its base forme a strong Pokémon, but also combines it with a great offensive presence. Its mixed offensive stats allows it to harass the opposing team with moves such as Scald and Knock Off, alongside coverage in Ice Beam and Psychic. It can also be a great win condition thanks to Slack Off, Calm Mind, and Curse, the latter being aided by Moxie.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Steelix Y
Name of New Mega Stone: Steelixite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Levitate
New Mega's Stats: 75 / 145 (+60) / 113 (-87) / 55 / 126 (+61) / 96 (+66) (BST: 610)
New Moves (if any):
Swords Dance

Flavor (Optional): Shedding most of its armor, Mega Steelix Y digs through the sky instead of the ground. Despite its odd appearance, it is an excellent flyer, and uses both the air and the ground to its advantage.

Justification: Steelix was plagued by its low Speed, poor Attack, and numerous weaknesses, all of which are addressed in Mega Steelix Y. 96 Base Speed beats Tapu Lele, Gliscor, and Landorus-T, all Pokémon that Mega Steelix Y can use to set up with Swords Dance and wallbreak. Levitate turns most Ground-types from strong checks into liabilities, as Mega Steelix Y can often walk them, although it is vulnerable to chip damage.

Name of Pokemon: Mega Venusaur Y
Name of New Mega Stone: Venusaurite Y
New Mega's Type:

New Mega's Ability: Chlorophyll
New Mega's Stats: 80 / 87 (+5) / 88 (+5) / 143 (+43) / 138 (+38) / 89 (+9) (BST: 625)
New Moves (if any):
Earth Power

Flavor (Optional): While its other forme can be found in the jungle, Mega Venusaur Y has adapted to life in the desert, becoming hardier and more powerful in the process. It uses the unending sun to its advantage, giving it energy to aid in both its speed and attacks in the hot sands.

Justification: Designed with sun teams in mind, Mega Venusaur Y is a devastating weather abuser. Its typing naturally synergies with sun teams: most sun abusers cover its weaknesses to Bug-, Ice-, and Fire- types while it protects against common Ground- and Rock- type attacks that plague sun teams. Chlorophyll and base 89 Speed allow it to outspend any weather abuser and nearly every Pokémon at +2, while having access to Growth and strong moves in Earth Power and Solar Beam. It can also perform a role similar to Ash-Greninja and set up Spikes during forced switches, complementing its offense.
