[SET COMMENTS]
Swords Dance Mega Mawile is an extremely dangerous wallbreaker and sweeper. It's Huge Power-boosted Attack stat combined with Swords Dance and good coverage allows it to annihilate common defensive Pokemon, such as Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Clefable. Additionally, Sucker Punch puts pressure on faster offensive threats, such as Heatran, Garchomp, Victini, Magnezone and Kartana especially when boosted. Mega Mawile's decent natural bulk, great defensive typing, and Intimidate before it Mega Evolves give it set up opportunities against physical attackers like Rillaboom, Weavile,(comma) and Tyranitar. Knock Off gives Mega Mawile neutral coverage against Fairy-resistant foes such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Melmetal. Thunder Punch, on the other hand, gives up the coverage provided by Knock Off to hit Pokemon such as Toxapex, Tapu Fini, Corviknight, and Skarmory super effectively. The given Speed allows Mega Mawile to outrun Skarmory, with the rest dumped into HP to maximize bulk.

Mega Mawile is a good fit on balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its wallbreaking capabilities and sweeping potential. Mega Mawile enjoys pivoting support that can get it in safely while also potentially wearing down its checks, such as Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, Gliscor, Rotom-W, and Slowbro. Additionally, the latter three check Heatran, which Mega Mawile can struggle against. Mega Mawile appreciates entry hazard support from users like Garchomp, Ferrothorn, and Greninja to weaken its checks like Heatran and Landorus-T. These entry hazards can also wear down fast Pokemon that aren't OHKOed by +2 Sucker Punch, such as Ash-Greninja, Choice Specs Tapu Koko, and Mega Lopunny. Alternatively, defensive partners such as Landorus-T and Gastrodon can help Mega Mawile cover opposing threats such as Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, and Heatran. Many teams also enjoy Mega Mawile acting as a decent interim check to Weavile; this can give teams relying on physically defensive Pokemon that are weak to Weavile, such as Landorus-T and Zapdos, some breathing room.

[SET COMMENTS]
All-out attacker Mega Mawile sacrifices some of its anti-offense tools for better coverage against traditional defensive cores. Ice Punch allows Mega Mawile to hit Landorus-T, Gliscor, and Garchomp, and Thunder Punch puts pressure on Toxapex, Slowbro, and Corviknight. Fire Fang destroys Steel-types like Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Kartana with the notable exception of Heatran. Brick Break is an alternative to Fire Fang that also hits Heatran, Magnezone, and Melmetal, but leaves Mega Mawile unable to break through Mega Scizor. Focus Punch is a more prediction reliant but rewarding option that hits most neutral targets for extreme damage while also allowing Mega Mawile to beat Mega Scizor and Iron Defense Skarmory. Intimidate is the preferred ability to weaken attacks from the likes of Weavile, Mega Scizor, and Rillaboom. 204 Speed EVs are enough to outspeed Mega Scizor, but an alternative EV spread of 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe is preferred on sets without Fire Fang or Focus Punch.

All-out attacker Mega Mawile fits best on teams that appreciate its ability to break down common balance cores for faster teammates. Late-game cleaners, such as Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Weavile, appreciate Mega Mawile pressuring common defensive core staples such as Landorus-T, Tapu Fini, and Ferrothorn; these Pokemon also shore up Mega Mawile's subpar offense matchup. Spikes support from Ferrothorn and Ash-Greninja is also helpful to wear down some of Mega Mawile's checks like Heatran, Toxapex, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor. Pivoting support from the likes of Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, Slowbro, and Rotom-W can give Mega Mawile safe switch ins. Notably, Landorus-T and Rotom-W can force out Heatran for Mega Mawile, and Rotom-W and Slowbro can pressure irritating Ground-types like Landorus-T and Gliscor, therefore reducing the need for Mega Mawile to predict these Pokemon switching in. Paralysis support from the likes of Ferrothorn, Serperior, and Clefable can also help out Mega Mawile against faster teams.

176 Speed EVs can be used on the Swords Dance set to outrun Shedinja with a neutral Speed nature and dispose of it before it can burn Mega Mawile with Will-O-Wisp, but this is a very specific, uncommon scenario. 204 Speed EVs can also be considered on the aforementioned set to outspeed Mega Scizor and catch it before it uses Roost. Sucker Punch might look like a decent option on the all-out attacker set to slightly shore up the offense matchup, but offensive Pokemon that can take an unboosted Sucker Punch are plentiful in the metagame and losing out on the coverage is definitely not worth it. Knock Off is an option as well for Dark-type coverage that hits Slowbro, Galarian Slowking, and Reuniclus harder while also potentially removing items from the likes of Melmetal and Landorus-T, but the coverage is overall inferior to the aforementioned moves due to the lack of power otherwise.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Many faster offensive Pokemon like Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Mega Lopunny can check Mega Mawile offensively, although the vast majority of them cannot switch in safely and fear a boosted Sucker Punch. Tapu Lele blocks Sucker Punch with Psychic Terrain, although it can't revenge kill Mega Mawile on its own without sufficient chip damage. Additionally, faster defensive Pokemon such as Zapdos, Landorus-T, and Moltres can outrun Mega Mawile and hit it super effectively; they can also punish Mega Mawile with adverse contact effects.

**Steel-types**: Rocky Helmet Skarmory reliably checks non-Focus Punch Mega Mawile with chip damage and Iron Defense boosts. Heatran outruns Mega Mawile, resists Play Rough, and forces it out with the threat of an OHKO. However, Heatran must be cautious of Fighting coverage or Knock Off if attempting to switch in, and +2 Sucker Punch can take it down after some chip. Substitute + Z-Move Magnezone can also trap Mega Mawile fairly easily, but it must be careful not to switch into super effective coverage or a boosted Sucker Punch. Melmetal is a decent check as well, but it is outsped by Mega Mawile and can't safely switch into super effective coverage options or boosted attacks.

**Ground-types**: Ground-types such as Landorus-T, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Excadrill are capable of checking Mega Mawile offensively, and some, such as Landorus-T, Gliscor, and the rarer Hippowdon, are capable of switching into certain Mega Mawile sets. They must be careful of being chipped into range of a boosted Sucker Punch, however, and many of them fear Ice Punch.

**Residual Damage**: Mega Mawile only uses attacks that make contact, so it is vulnerable to getting chipped down by Rocky Helmet and Iron Barbs. This is especially effective when the targets pivot around Mega Mawile to chip it down. This can limit its longevity in certain matchups against users like Ferrothorn, Rocky Helmet Corviknight, or Rocky Helmet Landorus-T, where it would otherwise be a massive threat.

**Fire-types**: Mega Mawile struggles against Fire-types like Mega Charizard X and Y, Volcarona, and Moltres, with the latter two threatening to burn it with Flame Body. Defensive Volcarona is also extremely annoying for Mega Mawile that lack Knock Off.

Knock Off offers good neutral coverage in conjunction with Play Rough, allowing Mega Mawile to pressure Play Rough resists such as Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Melmetal, Galarian Slowking, and Jirachi. Thunder Punch, on the other hand, hits Pokemon such as Toxapex, Tapu Fini, Corviknight, and Skarmory super effectively, although it loses coverage options onto Ferrothorn and can't pressure certain checks, such as Melmetal and Jirachi, as well. Intimidate is the preferred pre-Mega ability in order to weaken physical attackers such as Weavile, Rillaboom, and Tyranitar, therefore giving Mega Mawile more space to mega evolve. The given speed allows Mega Mawile to outrun 0 Speed Skarmory and Corviknight.

Mega Mawile can fit on balanced and bulky offensive teams that appreciate its wallbreaking capabilities while also having tools to pressure and even potentially sweep offensive teams. Mega Mawile enjoys pivoting support that can get it in safely while also potentially wearing down its checks. Options such as Landorus-T, Corviknight, Tapu Koko, Gliscor, Rotom-W, and Slowbro can safely get Mega Mawile on the field. Notably, these Pokemon do not have especially good matchups against bulkier teams, which Mega Mawile thrives against. Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Tapu Koko can also help out Mega Mawile against offensive builds. Additionally, the latter three can help out against Heatran, which Mega Mawile can struggle against. move this sentence before the sentence before it, because (i assume) ur referring to the glisc tom bro here, and not lndo koko and bro, so its a bit confusing with this here Mega Mawile highly appreciates Stealth Rock and Spikes support, as many of its already softer checks will find themselves under extreme pressure with hazards in the equation. Stealth Rock from a partner such as Clefable, Landorus-T, Garchomp, or Kommo-o or Spikes from Ferrothorn, Mew, or Ash-Greninja can chip down soft answers such as defensive Landorus-T, Ferrothorn, Corviknight Heatran, and Toxapex. This can force teams relying on these softer answers to sack a Pokemon. Notably, Clefable can set up Stealth Rock against Mega Sableye stall teams, making Mega Mawile even more difficult for them to deal with. idt this is that important, corb or glisc come in and fog them out instantly anws, cm rocks is not rlly that popping of a set these days too nor do i think u wld use that w maw These hazards can also wear down the many faster Pokemon that can take a +2 Sucker Punch from full and potentially allow Mega Mawile to sweep offensive teams. Ash-Greninja, Choice Specs Tapu Koko, Mega Lopunny, and Heatran all fall into this category. ngl I'm kinda unsure of tran here, since like lando (as previously mentioned) is also a faster mon that eats boosted sucker, and is also a defensive mon like tran, maybe for this section put it more so as mons that cant switch in + eat boosted sucker too, and move tran up there Alternatively, defensive partners such as Landorus-T, Ferrothorn, Gliscor and Gastrodon can help Mega Mawile cover opposing threats such as Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, Mega Lopunny, Gliscor and Heatran. All Out Attacker Mega Mawile sacrifices some of its ability to deal with offensive teams in order to become extremely difficult for traditional defensive cores to wall and play around by virtue of its excellent coverage. Ice Punch allows Mega Mawile to hit Landorus-T, Gliscor, and Garchomp while also hitting Grass-types like Amoonguss, Tangrowth, and Rillaboom. not relevant + pr hits them nearly as hard (bar amoong which is even less relevant) Thunder Punch allows Mega Mawile to pressure Toxapex, Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Corviknight. Fire Fang allows Mega Mawile to slam Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Kartana as well as most Steels with the notable exception of Heatran. Brick Break, on the other hand, hits Heatran, Magnezone, and Melmetal while also allowing Mega Mawile to still hit Ferrothorn and Kartana for significant damage on this sentence i wld focus more on how brick break trades the mzor matchup for the heatran matchup, that's a big give for bb sets. Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Mega Lopunny Landorus-T, and Gliscor fall into this category, although they must be wary of being chipped into range of a boosted Sucker Punch. **Steel-types**: Certain Steel-types can greatly annoy Mega Mawile. Iron Defense Skarmory is one of the best ways to deal with Mega Mawile, as with speed investment it can outrun it and boost its Defense as Mega Mawile attempts to set up, therefore making it very hard to break without Focus Punch while also chipping it with Rocky Helmet. Heatran outruns Mega Mawile, resists Play Rough, and forces it out with the threat of an OHKO. Melmetal is a decent check as well, but it can't safely switch into Fire Fang or Fighting coverage as Mega Mawile is faster, and it must avoid taking too much chip if it is attempting to deal with the Swords Dance set.

add a section for fire types, volc pretty much walls (esp bulky z which has seen notable use), chars both force it out, tini soft checks 4a but hates sd sucker, etc etc

This can limit its longevity in certain matchups where it would otherwise be superbly threatening, such as against teams running Ferrothorn, Rocky Helmet Corviknight, or Rocky Helmet Landorus-T.

add a section for fire types, volc pretty much walls (esp bulky z which has seen notable use), chars both force it out, tini soft checks 4a but hates sd sucker, etc etc

Swords Dance Mega Mawile is an extremely dangerous wallbreaker and sweeper in the National Dex metagame. It's Huge Power-(hyphen)boosted Attack stat combined with Swords Dance and good coverage allows it to throttle severely weaken (subjective, but this seems more descriptive) many common defensive Pokemon, such as Slowbro, Tapu Fini, and Clefable. Additionally, Sucker Punch puts pressure on faster offensive threats (unless stuff on offense isn't always faster) gives it a decent offense matchup, allowing it to pressure faster Pokemon such as Heatran, Garchomp, Victini, Magnezone and Kartana,(comma) especially when boosted. Mega Mawile's decent natural bulk, great defensive typing,(comma) with excellent resistances, (good resistances is already covered by good def typing) and access to Intimidate before it Mega Evolves also gives give it set up opportunities against the likes of physical attackers like Rillaboom, Weavile,(comma) and Tyranitar. Knock Off gives Mega Mawile neutral coverage against offers good neutral coverage in conjunction with Play Rough, allowing Mega Mawile to pressure Play Rough resists such as Heatran, Ferrothorn, Toxapex, and Melmetal. Thunder Punch, on the other hand, gives up the coverage provided by Knock Off to hits Pokemon such as Toxapex, Tapu Fini, Corviknight, and Skarmory super effectively.(period), although it loses coverage options onto the aforementioned Knock Off targets, besides Toxapex. Intimidate is the preferred pre-Mega ability in order to weaken physical attackers such as Weavile, Rillaboom, and Tyranitar, therefore giving Mega Mawile more space to mega evolve. (Since you already defended why Intimidate is used, I would just delete this)The given sS(capitalize)peed allows Mega Mawile to outrun Skarmory, with the rest dumped into HP to maximize bulk.

Mega Mawile can fit is a good fit on balanced and bulky offensive balance and bulky offense teams that appreciate its wallbreaking capabilities and sweeping potential. while also having tools to pressure and even potentially sweep offensive teams. Mega Mawile enjoys pivoting support that can get it in safely while also potentially wearing down its checks,(comma). Options such as Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, Gliscor, Rotom-W, and Slowbro.(period) can safely get Mega Mawile on the field. Additionally, the latter three can help out against check Heatran, which Mega Mawile can struggle against. The aforementioned Pokemon do not have especially good matchups against bulkier teams, which Mega Mawile thrives against. (Seems redundant since topic sentence says it's being used for wallbreaking/sweeping potential already) Choice Scarf Landorus-T and Tapu Koko can also help out Mega Mawile against offensive builds. (This sentence seems like a weird fit since the first paragraph talks about mmawile's good mu vs fast offense mons, so maybe that can be elaborated on w/ 2-3 specific examples, just so it doesn't seem inconsistent) Mega Mawile appreciates entry hazard support from users like Clefable, Landorus-T, Garchomp, Ferrothorn, and Greninja to weaken its checks like Heatran and Landorus-T. (I kept the original Pokemon since I'm not a QCer, but consider shortening the list) highly appreciates Stealth Rock and Spikes support, such as Clefable, Landorus-T, Garchomp for the former, Ferrothorn and Greninja for the latter, as many of its already softer checks, like Heatran and Landorus-T, will find themselves under extreme pressure with hazards in the equation. These entry hazards can also wear down fast Pokemon that aren't OHKOed by +2 Sucker Punch, such as the many faster Pokemon that can take a +2 Sucker Punch from full and potentially allow Mega Mawile to sweep offensive teams like Ash-Greninja, Choice Specs Tapu Koko, and Mega Lopunny. Besides boosted Sucker Punch, other Pokemon like Heatran and Landorus-T can take other hits decently well besides revenge killing, but are subject to being worn down easily. (You already listed them as checks susceptible to being worn down) Alternatively, defensive partners such as Landorus-T, Ferrothorn, Gliscor and Gastrodon can help Mega Mawile cover opposing threats such as Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, Mega Lopunny, Gliscor and Heatran. Many teams also enjoy Mega Mawile acting as a decent interim check to Weavile; this can give teams relying on physically defensive Pokemon that are weak to Weavile, such as Landorus-T and Zapdos, some breathing room. (This is mostly subjective, but in cases where you're listing 4+ mons and repeating the same ones like this, l'd consider just listing 1-2. The point is still made when you precede with "such as" or "like" anyway, bc you're telling the reader that similar options are just as relevant) <- didn't touch the last two sentences because it's not my place to tell you what the most notable examples are, but just something to keep in mind

[SET COMMENTS]
All-(hyphen)Out Attacker Mega Mawile sacrifices some of its anti-offense tools for better coverage against traditional defensive cores. ability to deal with offensive teams in order to become extremely difficult for traditional defensive cores to wall and play around by virtue of its excellent coverage. Ice Punch allows Mega Mawile to hit Landorus-T, Gliscor, and Garchomp,(comma).(period) and Thunder Punch allows Mega Mawile to puts pressure on Toxapex, Slowbro, and Corviknight. Fire Fang allows deals significant damage to Steel-types like Mega Mawile to slam Mega Scizor, Ferrothorn, and Kartana as well as most Steels with the notable exception of Heatran. Brick Break is an alternative to Fire Fang that also, on the other hand, hits Heatran, Magnezone, and Melmetal,(comma) while also allowing Mega Mawile to still hit Ferrothorn and Kartana for significant damage, but leaves it Mega Mawile unable to break through Mega Scizor. Focus Punch is a more prediction reliant but rewarding option that hits most neutral targets for extreme damage while also allowing Mega Mawile to beat Mega Scizor without Fire Fang as well as and (based on your set, if it has focus punch it naturally won't have fire fang) Iron Defense Skarmory.(period) with good prediction. (Can move this to OO if you don't intend to leave it in the main set) Intimidate is the preferred pre-mega ability to weaken attacks from the likes of Weavile, Mega Scizor, and Rillaboom. 204 Speed EVs allows Mega Mawile to outrun Mega Scizor; one can instead opt for 164 for Skarmory if not running Fire Fang or Focus Punch. 204 Speed EVs are enough to outspeed Mega Scizor, but an alternative EV spread of 92 HP / 252 Atk / 164 Spe is preferred on sets without Fire Fang or Focus Punch. (assumed the rest goes into HP, but you know better than me // just didn't want to leave out the remaining 40 EVs)

All-(hyphen)Out Attacker Mega Mawile fits best on teams that appreciate its ability to break down common balance cores for and allow faster teammates.(period) to take over once these walls have been taken care of. Late-(hyphen)game cleaners, such as Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Weavile,(comma) appreciate Mega Mawile ability to pressure pressuring common components of defensive cores staples such as Landorus-T, Tapu Fini, and Ferrothorn; these Pokemon also shore up Mega Mawile's subpar offense matchup. Spikes support from Ferrothorn and Ash-Greninja are also helpful to wear down some of Mega Mawile's checks like Heatran, Toxapex, opposing Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor. Pivoting support from the likes of Landorus-T, Tapu Koko, Slowbro, and Rotom-W can give Mega Mawile safe switch-ins. is very useful for Mega Mawile, as these teammates can help it get on the field safely.

Other Options
=============
176 Speed EVs can be used on the Swords Dance set to outrun Lonely Shedinja with a neutral speed nature and dispose of it before it can burn Mega Mawile with Will-O-Wisp, but this is a very specific,(comma) and not altogether ucommon scenario. 204 Speed EVs can also be considered on the aforementioned set to outspeed Mega Scizor and catch it before it uses Roost. Sucker Punch might look like a decent option on the All Out-(hyphen)Attacker set to slightly shore up the offense matchup,(comma) slightly, but offensive Pokemon that can take an unboosted Sucker Punch are plentiful in the metagame, and losing out on the coverage is definitely not worth it. (Is it necessary to mention sucker/knock here? Your AoA already starts off by saying you trade them for coverage, so it seems contradictory to then say you can drop the coverage anyway)

Checks and Counters
===================

**Faster Pokemon**: Many faster offensive Pokemon like Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Mega Lopunny can check Mega Mawile offensively, although the vast majority of them cannot switch in safely and fear a boosted Sucker Punch. Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Mega Lopunny fall into this category, although they must be wary of being chipped into range of a boosted Sucker Punch. Tapu Lele can also use its Psychic-terrain to block Sucker Punch entirely, although it can't revenge kill Mega Mawile on its own without some sufficient chip damage. Additionally, faster defensive Pokemon, such as Zapdos, Landorus-T, and Moltres,(comma) can outrun Mega Mawile and hit it super effectively; they can also punish Mega Mawile with adverse contact effects. the aforementioned three also have ways of punishing Mega Mawile for making contact with them.

**Steel-types**: Certain Steel-types can greatly annoy Mega Mawile. Rocky Helmet Iron Defense Skarmory reliably checks non-Focus Punch Mega Mawile with chip damage and Iron Defense boosts. is one of the best ways to deal with Mega Mawile, as with speed investment it can outrun it and boost its Defense as Mega Mawile attempts to set up, therefore making it very hard to break without Focus Punch while also chipping it with Rocky Helmet. Heatran outruns Mega Mawile, resists Play Rough, and forces it out with the threat of an OHKO. This is especially problematic considering how dangerous Heatran is; giving such a threatening foe an opportunity is generally not ideal. However, Heatran must be cautious of Fighting-type coverage or Knock Off if attempting to switch in, and +2 Sucker Punch can take it down after some chip. Substitute+Z-Move Substitute + Z-Move Magnezone can also trap Mega Mawile fairly easily,(comma) as opposed to its Choice sets which have to fear a boosted Sucker Punch after minimal chip, but it must be careful not to switch into super effective coverage or a boosted Sucker Punch. of switching directly into Fire Fang or Fighting coverage as well. Melmetal is a decent check as well, but it is outsped by Mega Mawile and can't safely switch into super effective coverage options or boosted attacks, especially if it isn't healthy. Fire Fang or Fighting-type coverage as Mega Mawile is faster, and it must avoid taking too much chip if it is attempting to deal with the Swords Dance set.

This can limit its longevity in certain matchups against users like Ferrothorn, Rocky Helmet Corviknight, or Rocky Helmet Landorus-T, where it would otherwise be a massive threat. superbly threatening, such as against teams running Ferrothorn, Rocky Helmet Corviknight, or Rocky Helmet Landorus-T.

**Fire-types**: Another point of weakness, Mega Mawile is susceptible to struggles against Fire-types like, including both Mega Charizard X and Y, Volcarona, and Moltres, with the latter two threatening to burn it with Flame Body. making it extra difficult for Mega Mawile to attack due to Flame Body. Defensive Volcarona is also extremely annoying (maybe change to "particularly difficult for non-Knock Off Mega Mawile to break through"?) for Mega Mawile that lacks Knock Off.
