Blastoise @ Blastoisinite
Ability: Torrent
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Rapid Spin
- Scald
- Ice Beam
- Dark Pulse
Mega Blastoise is RU's premier spinner due to both its power and its bulk. Mega Blastoise has amazing coverage because it is able to fire off Mega Launcher-boosted Dark Pulses, and it can even opt to run Aura Sphere, depending on whatever the team needs most. Dark Pulse prevents Ghost-types like Jellicent from spinblocking Mega Blastoise, and Ice Beam is incredibly useful to hit Grass-types like Roserade. Mega Blastoise can also run Hydro Pump for an even stronger STAB attack. Mega Blastoise's biggest downside is its lack of recovery. This, along with the fact that it is affected by every hazard and status, leads to it getting worn down quite quickly. Mega Blastoise is completely walled by Milotic, and no matter what it runs, its moves will always suffer competition from other coverage options. Mega Blastoise fits well on both balance and offense teams and is a great teammate for any Pokemon that doesn't appreciate hazard damage, such as Yanmega and Moltres.
