Inspired by the Mario & Luigi RPG series, this Pet Mod is designed for Doubles OU. Pairs of Pokemon team up here, and they've developed some unique strategies to take on the competition, including special synergies that give them an edge against their opponents. But in order to develop these strategies, they must first be paired. This is where we come in!

It's important to understand how the pair system works before you make your submissions. First thing to note is that, at the start of battle, a Pokemon must be sent out with its paired partner. In battle, when you switch out one Pokemon, the paired Pokemon is not switched out right away with it, but rather switches out at the end of that turn into the new Pokemon's partner. Because both Pokemon are needed to perform a Technique synergy, you cannot use it if one Pokemon is switching out. If both Pokemon switch out into Pokemon from different pairs, the second switch will determine which pair will be on the field at the end of the turn. If one Pokemon in a pair faints, the second Pokemon is no longer affected by its Strategy synergy, and can no longer use Technique synergies. Whenever it switches in, it will have a blank slot alongside it. However, the Pokemon can still be used until it faints.

The rules for submitting are simple:

1 ) Come up with a Pokemon pair! The best part is that this pair can be made up of any Pokemon not banned in Doubles OU (though, in some cases, certain Pokemon that are normally banned will be allowed), so feel free to make strong combos! Try and think of a pair that can synergize well on its own.

2 ) Your pair can be strong on its own, but what can really take the cake are the team synergies they can have. The first type of synergy is the Strategy synergy, which can be best described as an ability that affects both teammates. This does not replace the actual abilities of the Pokemon within the pair. The Strategy synergy can become essentially anything, so long as it retains some level of balance. For example, a pairing of Aggron and Blissey might have a Strategy like so:
"If Aggron would not faint from a physical attack aimed at Blissey, it takes the hit."
Be creative in how you make these, and think of what your pair would want the most from a Strategy synergy.

3 ) The second type of synergy is the Technique synergy. You create these by combining moves from both of the Pokemon's movepools that match at least one of their STABs. The Technique you make must match the type and category (
/
/
) of one of the moves that were combined together, and you cannot exceed the power of the strongest attack used to make the Technique synergy. The move must also match that move's accuracy, though certain moves can nullify this problem. As an example, for Blissey and Aggron, you could combine Soft-Boiled and Substitute to put both mons behind a Substitute and heal them for 25% HP (50% recovery - 25% to make a Sub), or you could combine Stealth Rock with Roar to phase out the opponent team after putting up Stealth Rock. Each synergy move is attributed to one of the Pokemon in the pair, and you use its stats and STAB when performing the move the move (unless the move contains an exception to this, like Beat Up). You must indicate which Pokemon the move is attributed to. Using them in battle works similarly to how the Pledge moves combine, but with the move being performed with the Speed stat of the Pokemon the move is attributed to.

4 ) Once you have your pair and their synergies, it's time to submit the team! The format is as follows:

Team: (Pokemon A) & (Pokemon B)
Strategy: (Describe the effect here)
(Pokemon A)'s Technique Synergy: (Name)
- Type:
- Classification: (
/
/
)
- Power:
- Accuracy:
- Effect:
- Flavor (optional):
(Pokemon B)'s Technique Synergy: (Name)
- Type:
- Classification: (
/
/
)
- Power:
- Accuracy:
- Effect:
- Flavor (optional):
Overview: (This is where you describe and elaborate things about the pair.)

Now you're ready to submit pairs of Pokemon and start your very own Superstar Saga!

Suicune
Lando-T

Team: Suicune & Landorus-Therian
Strategy: Purify - Only one of the pair can have status conditions at a time.
Suicune's Technique Synergy: Scald + Earthquake = Steam Quake
- Type: Water
- Classification: (
)
- Power: 100
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Hits both opponents. 30% chance to burn. 60% if they are using Dig.
Landorus-Therian's Technique Synergy: Tailwind + Bulldoze = Sky Flatten
- Type: Flying
- Classification: (
)
- Power: 60
- Accuracy: 90%
- Effect: Boosts Speed by 1 for every use. Lowers target's Speed by 1.
Overview: These two already work well together, having great defensive synergy. This merely helps more. Purify makes it difficult to put a cap on both at once. Burn Landorus, and you can't poison Suicune. Poison Suicune and you can't Burn Landorus. Also if Suicune uses Rest, it heals up while Landorus become status-proof. Steam Quake is just a harder hitting Scald that hits both opponents. Sky Flatten gives Landorus some Flying STAB and a way to boost speed without a Choice Scarf.

Image result for volcanion sprite

Team: Ferrothorn & Volcanion
Strategy: Fire Trap - All hazards have a 10% chance to burn in addition to the hazard's original effect.
Ferrothorn's Technique Synergy: Giga Drain + Flare Blitz = Power Drain
- Type: Grass
- Classification: (
)
- Power: 120
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: 1/3 of the damage is leeched.
Volcanion's Technique Synergy: Aqua Ring + Leech Seed = Aqua Drain
- Type: Water
- Classification: (
)
- Power: -
- Accuracy: 90%
- Effect: 1/8 of target's health drained to user every turn. 1/16 of user's health per pokemon affected by Aqua Drain is restored.
Overview: These two have great coverage and synergy already. Now it'll be hell to take them out. Fire Trap makes burning very easy. Power Drain gives Ferrothorn some much needed recovery. Aqua Drain offers insane regen.

Clefable

Team: Clefable & Gengar
Strategy: Shadow of a Star - As long Clefable isn't KO'ed, Gengar gets the resistances and immunities of Clefable. As long Gengar isn't KO'ed, Clefable's Special Attack and Speed is multiplied by 1.5.
Clefable's Technique Synergy: Moonlight + Destiny Bond = Soul Boost
- Type: Fairy
- Classification: (
)
- Power: -
- Accuracy:-%
- Effect: Moonlight + Gengar heals the same amount of health next turn
Gengar's Technique Synergy: Shadow Ball + Moonblast = Magic Ectoplasm
- Type: Ghost
- Classification: (
)
- Power: 90
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: 25% chance to lower Special Attack and Special Attack by 1.
Overview: Gengar is theorized to be the shadow of Clefable. I'm merely taking that to it's logical extreme. Shadow of a Star makes Gengar tougher to kill and Clefable a harder hitter. Soul Boost gives the pair more staying power. Magic Ectoplasm is just a mix of Moonblast and Shadow Ball.

Gliscor

Team: Gliscor & Tyranitar
Strategy: Sand Guard - In a sandstorm, Gliscor and Tyranitar have their Defense and Special Defense multiplied by 1.5.
Gliscor's Technique Synergy: Roost + Assurance = Landing Spot
- Type: Flying
- Classification: (
)
- Power: 100
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Heals 50% of health. If attacked while on the same turn, Gliscor attacks.
Tyranitar's Technique Synergy: Throat Chop + Stone Edge = Throat Impaler
- Type: Dark
- Classification: (
)
- Power: 100
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Target loses the ability to use sound based attacks for 5 moves.
Overview: Nigh Invincible in Sand, pretty tough anywhere else. Sand Guard makes it so. Landing Spot discourages people from attacking, while Throat Impaler gives Tyranitar decent Dark STAB.

Landorus-Therian's Technique Synergy: Tailwind + Rock Slide = Wind Charge
- Type: Flying
- Classification: (

- Power: 75
- Accuracy: 90%
- Effect: Boosts Speed by 1 for every use.
Volcanion's Technique Synergy: Bulldoze + Steam Eruption = Steam Crash
- Type: Water
- Classification: (

- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Hits both opponents. 10% chance to burn.
Overview: These two have great coverage and synergy already. Now it'll be hell to take them out. Fire Trap makes burning very easy. Power Drain gives Ferrothorn some much needed recovery. Steam Crash is just Steam Eruption that hits both opponents.
I’m afraid Steam Crash isn’t currently allowed as neither Volcanion or Ferrothorn are ground type.
Wind Charge is the same problem, neither of the pair are rock type.
The other moves are fine though, and I like the look of them.

Yung Dramps

awesome gaming

Team: Drampa & Turtonator
Strategy: Turn Order Turnabout: Any attack that does over 50% damage to a Pokemon in this pair has its user swap speed stats with the attacked member of the pair.
Drampa's Technique Synergy: I Was Napping! (Protect + Shell Trap)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 110
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: The user protects themselves from all damage for this turn. When hit by a contact move, the user unleashes the attack. Higher chance to fail the more its used in succession.
Turtonator's Technique Synergy: Scare Away (Glare + Dragon Tail)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 60
- Accuracy: 90%
- Effect: -6 priority, forces the target to switch out. Switch-in is paralyzed.
Overview: The two one-stage dragon counterparts from Alola have teamed up to be quite the nuisance! The gameplan here is simple: Flip your speed stats, reduce the speed/health of foes who are still faster, and then take out the rest while they're crippled and outsped.

Team: Shaymin & Wailord
Strategy: David and Goliath: If Wailord is KOed first, Shaymin takes his HP stat. If Shaymin is KOed first, Wailord takes its Defense and Special Defense stats.
Shaymin's Technique Synergy: Moss Shower (Seed Flare + Soak)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 90
- Accuracy: 85%
- Effect: Changes foe's typing to Grass.
Wailord's Technique Synergy: Algae Storm (Leech Seed + Whirlpool)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 35
- Accuracy: 85%
- Effect: Effects of Whirlpool + sets Leech Seed on trapped opponent
Overview: Offense not your thing? Here, have some stall! If one goes down, the other becomes much harder to kill, so beware!

here's some garbage

Team: Heatran and Ribombee
Strategy: Focus Guard - Attacks that would hit both instead only hit the one who would take less damage from it.
Heatran's Technique Synergy: Heat Wave + Pollen Puff: Spring Breeze
- Type: Fire
- Classification:

- Power: 95
- Accuracy: 90%
- Effect: Hits both enemies. User and any allies are healed by 50%. 10% chance to burn enemies, 10% chance to cure allied status.
- Flavor (optional): A Pollen Puff is infused into Heat Wave, spreading its curative effects to allies caught in the hot wind.
Ribombee's Technique Synergy: Quiver Dance + Magma Storm: Storm Dance
- Type: Bug
- Classification:

- Power: -
- Accuracy: -%
- Effect: User is trapped for 4-5 turns and boosts Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed by 1 at the end of those turns.
- Flavor (optional): The user is wrapped in dancing embers, causing their power to grow rapidly but preventing them from fleeing.
Overview: Those Idiots that I use together on my Doubles OU team. The Strategy allows Ribombee to take Earthquakes for Heatran, while Heatran takes Heat Waves and Rock Slides. Spring Breeze allows you to continue attacking while also healing both. Storm Dance allows Ribombee to rapidly snowball out of control, at the cost of everyone spending a turn as sitting ducks (and having to run Magma Storm).

Team: Slaking & Tornadus-Incarnate
Strategy: Next Mon Up - If either Pokemon has to spend a turn where it cannot act (recharging, Truant, etc.), their ally uses the first status move in their moveset when their partner would act (This uses their partner's Speed stat, but not abilities, so it's unaffected by Prankster or Stall). This doesn't activate if either Pokemon used a protection move.
Slaking's Technique Synergy: Roundabout Smash (Giga Impact + Air Cutter)
- Type: Normal
- Classification:

- Power: 120
- Accuracy: 95%
- Effect: High critical hit ratio, hits both foes, user recharges after use
Tornadus' Technique Synergy: Gale Force (Tailwind + Work Up)
- Type: Flying
- Classification:

- Power: --
- Accuracy: --
- Effect: Sets Tailwind (doubles team's speed for 4 turns). During Tailwind, the team's Attack and Special Attack are boosted by 1.2x
Overview: This team basically allows Slaking to actually be useful as it's wasted turn basically allows Tornadus to act twice. That turn can allow Tornadus to use something like Bulk Up and Substitute on the same turn, or Taunt and Defog, or Agility and Tailwind (if you need Tailwind on a Truant turn). This team also gives Slaking a powerful option to hit both opponents with essentially no downside due to Truant and Next Mon Up.

Team: Krookodile & Lurantis
Strategy: Stat Share - If one Pokemon has a stat changed, their ally receives the same stat change. The copying of stat boosts is not affected by abilities.
Krookodile's Technique Synergy: Emotion Drain (Stomping Tantrum + Giga Drain)
- Type: Ground
- Classification:

- Power: 75
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Heals the team by 50% of the damage dealt. If the move fails, heals the team by 12.5% of the damage that it would've dealt.
Lurantis' Technique Synergy: Rocket Roses (Razor Leaf + Power Trip)
- Type: Grass
- Classification:

- Power: 15
- Accuracy: 95%
- Effect: Every stat boost each teammate has adds 15 BP. Hits both foes
Overview: Gain stat boosts by using Lurantis' Superpower or Leaf Storm, than spam Power Trip with Krookodile or Rocket Roses with Lurantis. Need I say more?

Team: Landorus-Therian & Mew
Strategy: Seeing Double - When this pair is sent out, if one of the Pokemon in the pair has the move Transform, it transforms into its teammate. Does not activate if one of the members has the ability Imposter or if both members have the move Transform.
Landorus' Technique Synergy: Seismic Wave (Earthquake + Gravity)
- Type: Ground
- Classification:

- Power: 100
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Sets Gravity before damage is dealt, hits all adjacent Pokemon on the field
Mew's Technique Synergy: Calculated Crash (Barrier + Bulldoze)
- Type: Psychic
- Classification:

- Power: 60
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Hits all adjacent Pokemon on the field. 100% chance to lower the opposing team's Defense by 1
Overview: The Technique Synergy moves are honestly pretty cool, but this team is here more to allow you to use two Landoruses. Who doesn't want two Landoruses? The only problem is the shared weaknesses and being forced to have the same moveset, but, at the end of the day, it's two Landoruses.

Team: Pikachu & Togedemaru
Strategy: Reigning Rodents - If one Pokemon in the pair that can be affected by the Light Ball is holding a Light Ball, their ally also gains the effects of a Light Ball. The ally can still hold an item.
Pikachu's Technique Synergy: Radiating Light (Discharge + Zing Zap)
- Type: Electric
- Classification:

- Power: 80
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: 15% chance to flinch the foe, 15% chance to paralyze the foe, hits all Pokemon on the field
Togedemaru's Technique Synergy: Static Illusion (Magnet Rise + Nuzzle)
- Type: Electric
- Classification:

- Power: --
- Accuracy: --
- Effect: The team rises above the Ground and becomes immune to Ground-type moves for 5 turns. During these turns, if the team is targeted by a Ground-type move, then that Pokemon is paralyzed
Overview: In SylveMons, all of the Pikaclones can use the Light Ball. So, what if we had that but said Pikaclone can use another item on top of that? While items like Assault Vest, Life Orb, and Choice Scarf are super appealing for Togedemaru, one of the best ways to use this perk is with Z-Moves. A Gigavolt Havoc or Corkscrew Crash from Togedemaru can cut through some of the bulkiest opposition. The downside, of course, is Pikachu's frailty and both members' meh speed tier, but if you can get an attack off, you'll be doing big damage.

Team: Shaymin-Sky & Nidoking
Strategy: Trading Plans - These Pokemon can use each other's moves if the move in question is affected by their ability
Shaymin's Technique Synergy: Poison Berries (Leech Seed + Sludge Bomb)
- Type: Grass
- Classification:

- Power: 90
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: 30% chance to seed the target
Nidoking's Technique Synergy: Toxic Stimulus (Venom Drench + Tailwind)
- Type: Poison
- Classification:

- Power: --
- Accuracy: --
- Effect: Doubles the team's speed for 4 turns and boosts the user's Attack and Special Attack by 1
Overview: WIP (Seed Flare Nidoking, Fire Blast/Ice Beam Shaymin, Earth Power Shaymin without using a moveslot on Shaymin, you can have it all!)

Team: Oranguru & Stakataka
Strategy: Super Symbiosis - If one or both Pokemon in the pair has the ability Symbiosis and one or both of the Pokemon in the pair is holding an item that was effected by the Gen VI Symbiosis Eject Button glitch, then the team's items activates twice (see list for effects)
Oranguru's Technique Synergy: Mental Toll (Dream Eater + Stealth Rock)
- Type: Psychic
- Classification:

- Power: --
- Accuracy: --
- Effect: Sets Psychic-type Stealth Rock on the opponent's side of the field. Any time the hazard deals damage, the team is healed by 50% of the damage done.
Stakataka's Technique Synergy: Charged-Up Spin (Gyro Ball + Stored Power)
- Type: Steel
- Classification:

- Power: --
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Base Power is calculated by "20 × (Target's Current Speed / User's Current Speed)) + (10 × User's Stat Boosts)" The number calculated by the first part of the formula cannot be more than 150.
Overview: WIP (Double Weakness Policy, Quadruple Lefties, Double Shuca Berry, Double Metal Coat-boosted Gyro Ball, Double Choice Band, Double Scope Lens, Double everything)

If any of these are broken, please let me know.

Due to people already submitting, the first slate has begun. But here is an important announcement going forward. Marshadow and Lucario, due to being this mod's namesake, are going to be in this Pet Mod as a pair. Due to Marshadow being banned from Doubles OU, Lucario will not be allowed to go Mega alongside it. Your maximum number of submissions is six, but you can submit a Strategy synergy and two Technique synergies for Marshadow & Lucario without contributing to that limit. This will be the only slate you can do so, and no other pairs involving banned mons will be considered.

Team: Incineroar & Sylveon
Strategy: Makeup - The lowest raw stat (before boosts) on the team is replaced by the corresponding stat of that Pokémon’s partner.
Incineroar’s Technique Synergy: Solar Flare (Flame Charge + Moonblast)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 95
- Accuracy: 100
- Effect: The team’s Speed and Special Attack are raised one stage.
- Flavor: The Power of the sun bounces off of the moon, and thanks to Sylveon, is redirected to Incineroar and is unleashed as a massive charge that harnesses the strength of a Solar Flare. This raises the team’s Speed and Special Attack.

Sylveon’s Technique Synergy: Wedding Plans (Nasty Plot + Draining Kiss)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: —
- Accuracy: —
- Effect: The team has its Special Attack raised sharply and heals 50% of their HP.
Flavor: Sylveon and Incineroar make wedding plans together. This heals the team’s HP and raises their Special Attack sharply.
Overview: Two cats come together as a lovely couple. Before even getting to the synergies, Intimidate is an extremely good ability in Doubles, and Sylveon’s Pixilate Hyper Voice is super handy too. Sylveon also has access to screens, Z-Celebrate and Wish. Incineroar has Will-O-Wisp and Taunt, as well as the useful Fake Out. The synergies, however, make these two incredible. For one, Sylveon can now patch up its poor physical bulk thanks to its Strategy Synergy. Alternatively, you can surprise your foe by making your Sylveon Physical or your Incineroar Special. Solar Flare provides an easy way for the duo to get increasingly faster and stronger, while Wedding Plans provides much needed recovery and another way to set up. Incineroar also gets Power Trip, making it even harder to handle. Overall, this is one couple not to mess with.

Team: Cobalion & Tapu Lele
Strategy: Noble Guard - If Psychic Terrain is active, opponent's offensive and defensive stat boosts are ignored (this means only Speed modifications are effective).
Cobalion's Technique Synergy:
Clarity Sword (Sacred Sword + Psyshock)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 90
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Calculates damage using opponent's Special Defense stat.
- Flavor (optional): Cobalion fully concentrates to take the maximum advantage from Lele's Psychic powers and then attacks with its blade.
Tapu Lele's Technique Synergy:
Quick Swap (Ally Swap + Quick Guard)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: --
- Accuracy: -- %
- Effect: +3 Priority. Swaps place with its ally and both take 50% damage from attacks until the end of the turn. Accuracy lowers if used repeatedly (same mechanic as Quick Guard and Protect variants).
- Flavor (optional): Tapu Lele teleports itself in front of Cobalion and creates a barrier around both to protect them from damage.
Overview: This pair kinda covers eachother's weaknesses, so a stronger version of Ally Switch can help them to make some unpredictable plays. Also, cobalion is defensively good on the physical side, while tapu lele on the special one, so swapping while a physical move aims at lele can result very useful. A physical version of psyshock doesn't exist, so I guess making it will help, considering also that thanks to Noble Guard Cobalion doesn't need Sacred Sword to ignore stat boosts.

Team: Cherrim & Torkoal
Strategy: Fertility - If Grassy Terrrain is set while Sunny Day is active, then Sunny Day will last until the effect of Grassy Terrain ends; if Sunny Day is used while Grassy Terrain is active, then Grassy Terrain will last until the effect of Sunny Day ends; if both Sunny Day and Grassy Terrain are active when one or both memebers of the team switch out, then this condition will only last for a maximum of 3 more turns.
Cherrim's Technique Synergy:
Vulcanic Hash (Grassy Terrain + Eruption)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 150
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Less power as user's HP decreases; hits all adjacent foes; if not already active, Grassy Terrain is set right after usage.
- Flavor (optional): Cherrim is used to high temperatures because of its habit to absorb sunlight, so it enter's in the hole on Torkoal's back and then Torkoal shoots it with a vulcanic eruption; then, when the smoke deposits, a fertile layer of hash makes Grassy Terrain grow on the field.
Torkoal's Technique Synergy:
Healing Smoke (Clear Smog + Synthesis)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: --
- Accuracy: -- %
- Effect: Heals allies from statuses and stat drops and restores 1/3 of their maximum HP (1/2 under sunlight).
- Flavor (optional): Cherrim mixes its pollen with Torkoal's smoke to create a mixture with healing effects.
Overview: WIP.

How did nobody bothered to do Marshadow & Lucario? Looks like this is the job for Samtendo!

Team: Marshadow & Lucario
Strategy: Partners in Prime - Lucario's moves with 60 BP or lower are powered-up by 50%. Lucario and Marshadow cannot be flinched.

Lucario's Technique Synergy: Close Cannon (Flash Cannon + Close Combat)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 120
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: 30% to lower the target's Defense and Special Defense by 1 stage.
- Flavor (optional): Marshadow hide in Lucario's shadow while Lucario prepares for using Flash Cannon. Marshadow use Close Combat at the same time on the target to ensure powerful hit just before the Flash Cannon hits the target.

Marshadow's Technique Synergy: Spectral Wave (Spectral Thief + Vacuum Wave)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 40
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: +1 Priority. The target's stat stages greater than 0 are stolen from it and applied to the user before dealing damage.
- Flavor (optional): Lucario launches Marshadow with Vacuum Wave as Marshadow steals the stat boosts and plummet the opponent.

Overview: Lucario seems to be a Fighting-type that could fight Fairy-types just fine thanks to its Steel-type, but it isn't fast enough to be really helpful in Doubles by itself. With Marshadow's help, Lucario is able to perform a powerful Steel-type STAB at the cost of making Marshadow frailer, while Marshadow's Spectral Drain helps it to beat Normal-type and Dark-type that will be able to withstand a Shadow Sneak or Spectral Thief while still doing the "Steal the Stat Boosts" role. Although the Technique Synergies forces Lucario to have two required Special moves, Vacuum Wave is boosted by 50% thanks to Partners in Prime, though be sure that Psychic Terrain is not active. Partners in Prime also allows for a custom coverage in the form of 90 BP Hidden Power, making Lucario much more unpredictable, and can make Fake Out and flinching spam useless against Lucario and Marshadow.

Team: Flareon & Wigglytuff
Strategy: Cute Powerhouses - Wigglytuff uses Flareon's Attack and Special Defense for Wigglytuff's own Special Attack and Special Defense, while Flareon's maximum HP and current HP copies Wigglytuff's maximum HP upon switch in. Whenever Wigglytuff's Competitive activates, Flareon's Attack is raised by 2 stages.

Flareon's Technique Synergy: Loud Blitz (Flare Blitz + Hyper Voice)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 120
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Bypasses Substitute. Doesn't make contact. Thaws user. 10% chance of burning.
- Flavor (optional): Flareon prepares its Flare Blitz as Wigglytuff's Hyper Voice launches Flareon's flames into a target, dealing heavy damage while bypassing their substitute.

Wigglytuff's Technique Synergy: Burning Gleam (Dazzling Gleam + Will-o-Wisp)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 80
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: 30% chance of burning the target. Hit all adjacent foes.
- Flavor (optional): Wigglytuff and Flareon combine Dazzling Gleam and Will-o-Wisp to attack and potentially burn the enemies.

Overview: Flareon's HP is too low to work as a bulky attacker, but with the power of Cute Powerhouses, Flareon quickly have a scary Special bulk, which means that outside of Special wallbreakers with super effective moves, Physical attackers in general are a much more preferred choice to take them down (provided that they aren't burned). While Intimidate spamming seems unlikely considering the importance of the Team system. anything that have Intimidate or a Strategy that decrease the attackers' stats on switch-in will be asking for heavy punishment does to Wigglytuff's Competitive and, thanks to Cute Powerhouses, Flareon's Attack will be similarly boosted as well. It helps that Flareon itself cannot be burned. While both still have weak Defenses and Flareon's movepool is limited compared to Incineroar (though Superpower comes in handy against Rock-type), Wigglytuff can provide support with Burning Gleam, Helping Hand or Heal Pulse to support Flareon. Both are slow too, so they can get easily revenge killed if they are not used carefully.

What do you think? Are any of them seems overwhelming or underwhelming?

Strategy: Zen Surge: Opposing pokemons can receive status ailments under Misty Surge. As long as it's up, Darmanitan is in Zen Mode.

Darmanitan's Technique Synergy: Tiki Burst (Brine + Fire Blast)
Type:

Category:

Power: 65
Accuracy: 85%
Effect: Power doubles if the target is statused. 10% chance to burn the target.

Tapu Fini's Technique Synergy: Deep Sea Sleep (Soak + Rest)
Type:

Category:

Power: --
Accuracy: --
Effect: If the target is water-type, puts it to sleep and heals 50% of the user's total health. If it's not water type, changes its type to water.

Overview: A really powerful and bulky wall/breaker team. Immune to status and can spread annoyance among the enemy team thanks to Deep Sea Sleep (which still requires 2 turns against most targets). Scald + Tiki Burst is a really effective combo to get some K.O.s too, especially considering Tiki Burst is boosted by Sheer Force.

Strategy: Granite Cave Trickery - Bounces back other Pokemon's attempts at lowering this Pokemon's stat stages. If said thing were to occur, opponent moves last next turn.
Mawile's Technique Synergy: Fake Diamond Storm (Foul Play + Iron Defense)
- Type:

- Classification: (
)
- Power: 95
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Increases Defense by 2.
- Flavor: The partners whip up a storm of crystals to damage the opposing Pokémon. While they may seem like diamonds, they actually are a bunch of more common stones and ores.
Sableye's Technique Synergy: Blackout Terrain (Misty Terrain + Taunt)
- Type:

- Classification: (
)
- Power: --
- Accuracy: --
- Effect: Sets Misty Terrain for 5 turns. Taunts all Pokémon for 3 turns. Fairy-types are immune to the Taunt.
- Flavor: The partners recreate the darkness in their original habitat, Granite Cave, angering the opponents.
Overview: They're two 380 BST Pokémon so I decided to go a bit crazy on the effects. Sure, they both have good Megas, but you can only run one Mega at a time. You'll probably want to run Mega Mawile & Sableye, as base Sableye gets priority on its Technique Synergy, prevents Mega Mawile from getting burned with it, and also has priority Recover/Pain Split/Will-o-Wisp. Mawile won't have to worry about Intimidate due to their Strategy synergy, and can even outspeed other Pokémon sometimes(!!!). With Mawile's Technique Synergy raising Defense by 2, Mawile's Intimidate and Sableye's Will-o-Wisp (before setting Misty Terrain), it'll make these low BST buddies very hard to kill with physical moves.

Strategy: Eastern Emerald Elysias - Tangrowth is immune to Water-type moves and raises its Special Attack by 1 stage when hit by a Water-type move. The partners' Leech Seed can't be removed by switching out. However, switching into a Grass-type or using Rapid Spin will remove it. If the pair isn't on field or Defog is used, Leech Seed will become removable by switching out as normal.
Gastrodon's Technique Synergy: Thermosynthesis (Scald + Giga Drain)
- Type:

- Classification: (
)
- Power: 80
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: 50% chance to burn. Drains 30% of damage dealt.
- Flavor: The partners use high temperature. While Gastrodon attacks, Tangrowth restores its teammate's HP with chlorophyll reactions from the heat.
Tangrowth's Technique Synergy: Fertile Waters (Surf + Leech Seed)
- Type:

- Classification: (
)
- Power: 90
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Hits everyone on field. If successful, sets Leech Seed on the target.
- Flavor: Stuff happens.

Team:

Strategy: All Star - Foes are always under the effect of Swamp
Simipour's Technique Synergy: Mud Bath (Surf / Worry Seed)
- Type: Water
- Classification:

- Power: 90
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Hits both foes and gives them the Insomnia ability. Double power on pokemon using Dive
Simisage's Technique Synergy: Onion Cutter (Hydro Pump / Giga Drain)
- Type: Grass
- Classification:

- Power: 110
- Accuracy: 80%
- Effect: Heals user by 50% damage dealt
Overview: Cripples foes easly
I saw what you did there.

Team: Kartana & Tyranitar
Strategy: Kaiju's Guard - Kartana and Tyranitar swap one another's lowest stats.
Kartana's Technique Synergy: Origami Storm (Giga Drain + Rock Slide)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 75
- Accuracy: 95
- Effect: User recovers half the damage dealt. Targets opposing team.
- Flavor (optional): Kartana slashes its swords against Tyranitar's spiky back, flinging countless shards at the opposing team. The pieces return back to Kartana's body, recovering its hitpoints.
Tyranitar's Technique Synergy: Savage Slash (Leaf Blade + Payback)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 75
- Accuracy: 100
- Effect: Deals double damage if the user moves after the target. High critical hit ratio.
- Flavor (optional): Tyranitar uses Kartana to cut the target with great ferocity. It only becomes angrier if it moves after the opposing team.
Overview: A team of two very Japanese Pokemon, an origami soldier and a kaiju. Kartana isn't worn down by sandstorm either. Kaiju's Guard will swap Kartana's base 31 SpD with Tyranitar's base 61 Spe stat, patching up Kartana's poor special bulk while allowing Tyranitar to pretty much always go last, ensuring that Savage Slash will do boosted damage.

Team: Stakataka & Blacephalon
Strategy Synergy: Balancing the Scales (After one of Stakataka or Blacephalon gets KO'd, the other gains a x1.5 multiplier to the other's lowest stat so long as they remain active (So Blace will likely get boosted Speed, and Staka boosted Defense))
Blacephalon's Technique Synergy: Volatile Firecrackers (Flamethrower + Stealth Rock)
- Type: Fire
- Classification:

- Power: 95
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Sets fireworks on the opponent's side of the field that deal Fire-type Stealth Rock damage when opponents switch in unless Stealth Rock is already active.
- Flavor (optional): Blacephalon attacks the targets with fireworks, which thanks to Stakataka's help, remain on their side of the field.
Stakataka's Technique Synergy: Gyro Burn (Will-O-Wisp + Gyro Ball)
- Type: Steel
- Classification:

- Power: 25*(Target's Speed / User's Speed) (Max 150)
- Accuracy: 90%
- Effect: Can set burn. (The chances are (Target's Speed/User's Speed)*100%)
- Flavor (optional): Stakataka starts spinning on its base, but before it launches itself towards the target, Blacephalon shrouds it in flaming energy.

Team: Kartana & Tyranitar
Strategy: (Describe the effect here)
Kartana's Technique Synergy: Origami Storm (Giga Drain + Rock Slide)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 75
- Accuracy: 95
- Effect: User recovers half the damage dealt. Targets opposing team.
- Flavor (optional):
Tyranitar's Technique Synergy: Savage Slash (Leaf Blade + Assurance)
- Type:

- Classification:

- Power: 85
- Accuracy: 100
- Effect: Deals double damage if the target has already taken damage in the same turn.
- Flavor (optional):
Overview: (This is where you describe and elaborate things about the pair.)
Keep in mind that both Pokemon use up their turn to perform one Technique synergy. So, Tyranitar's current Technique probably won't end up being used that often.

I'm just gonna say that I really love this idea and that I've always been sucker for the M&L series. Now without further ado, I do have some ideas.

Gallade and Gardevoir
Team: Gallade and Gardevoir
Strategy: Knight in Shining Armor - Gallade's Defense stat is multiplied by 1.5x and its type weaknesses and resistances are inverted as long as Gardevoir isn't KOed. If Gardevoir is knocked out, Gallade becomes heartbroken at his failure of protecting his maiden. All possible Defense and Special Defense boosts are removed, its typing is reverted, and Gallade is placed under a Curse for the rest of the game.
Gallade's Technique Synergy: I Shall Aid You M'Lady! (Close Combat+Heal Pulse)
- Type: Fighting
- Classification:

- Power: 120
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: The user's Defense and Special Defense stat is lowered by one stage but the user is healed by 50% of its max HP.
- Flavor (optional): Gallade fends off the attackers from dare touching his maiden. Gardevoir prays that her knight will protect her. Her prayers are answered and they energize Gallade.
Gardevoir's Technique Synergy: Thou Shall Defend Me O Knight! (Ally Switch+Quick Guard)
- Type: Psychic
- Classification:

- Power: N/A
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Both Pokemon swap places while Gallade sets up Quick Guard.
- Flavor (optional): Gallade, with all of his might, protects the maiden Gardevoir with an exuberant and mighty shield and dashes across the battlefield to prevent the opposition from harming his maiden.
Overview: This duo encourages that Gallade should Mega Evolve between the two. A Defense boost and type inversion actually makes Mega Gallade a strong blanket check against various duos and paired with its 165 base Attack, Gallade is a menace. Gardevoir also provides a fine Ally Switch to prevent itself from being harmed and reliable recovery to Gallade. However, it is of utmost importance that Gardevoir should be kept alive to prevent Gallade from being crippled for the rest of the match. With a strong technique synergy and Mega Gallade being a monster both offensively and defensively as long as Gardevoir is alive, a well played double like this can be the bane of the opponent's existence.

Starmie+Jirachi
Team: Starmie and Jirachi
Strategy: Shooting Star - Starmie’s chances of its secondary effects of its Attacks to activate are doubled. Starmie and Jirachi are unaffected by hazard damage.
Starmie's Technique Synergy: Blue Dwarf Departure (Psychic+Doom Desire)
- Type: Psychic
- Classification: (
)
- Power: 140
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: This move hits all opposing Pokemon on the field two turns after it is used. This has a 30% chance to lower the foe(s) Special Defense by one stage.
- Flavor (optional): Jirachi lends Starmie its power. Starmie can control stars with this overbearing newfound strength. It uses this new ability to cause a star to explode and fling its meteoric fragments at the opposing team.
Jirachi's Technique Synergy: Tsunami of Wishes (Iron Head+Whirlpool)
- Type: Steel
- Classification: (
)
- Power: 40
- Accuracy: 100%
- Effect: Traps the opposing target. This move has a 30% chance to flinch.
- Flavor (optional): Jirachi opens its one eye and unleashes a tidal wave of wish energy collected throughout the eons.
Overview: Let’s make your battle the most annoying one you’ve had yet. Starmie gets a free Serene Grace boost and then unleashes a powerful delayed attack that could potentially lower the Special Defense of the foes who unfortunately were in the way of this attack. Jirachi then also traps Pokemon in while possibly flinching them. However, a myriad of faster Pokémon can outspeed Jirachi and remove it while Starmie’s frailty severely holds it back. Dark-types also prove to be a major issue against a team-up like this.

BSS Circuit Co-host
I have a minor request for this slate: You use the Tag Team Pairs from the card game. This mod is literally screaming for you all to take them!

I'm just gonna dump them with some basic ideas from them, please take some of these!

Gengar and Mimikyu:

Strategy: Cursed Disguise
Mimikyu's disguise can protect gengar as well. When the disguise is hit, the opponent's move will automatically get "cursed bodied"

Gengar's Technique Synergy
Poltergeist (Moves: Gengar [Will-o-wisp] and Mimikyu [Shadow Claw])
Type: Ghost
Classification:

Power: 70
Accuracy: 100%
Effect: The opponent is now burned. High Critical Hit Ratio. Does not make contact. Cannot be blocked (like Hyperspace Fury)

Mimikyu's Technique Synergy
Lets Snuggle Everyone! (Moves: Mimikyu [Play Rough] and Gengar [Hex])
Type:

Classification:

Power: 90
Accuracy: 90%
Effect: Hits both opponents. If the opponent has a major status condition, damage is doubled.

Overview: Two rather fragile mons combine their abilities. Gengar can now burn past protect to stop physical attackers. Having a disguise protect it also helps protect it from mons that would otherwise outright KO it (like earth power lando). One move on your opponents team will get curse bodied, helping protect from scarfers. Mimikyu takes advantage of burned mons to deal incredible damage.

M-Venusaur and Celebi:

Strategy
Floral Growth: Gains a passive leftovers recovery effect every turn.

Venusaurs Technique Synergy
Pollen Hazard (Moves: Venusaur [Poison powder] and Celebi [Seed Bomb])
Type: Poison
Classification:

Accuracy: 100%
Effect: Hits both opponents. The opponent is now poisoned

Celebi's Technique Synergy
Evergreen (Moves: Celebi [Healing Wish] and Venusaur [Synthesis])
Type:

Classification:

Effect: Heals both Pokemon by a weather dependent amount (Sun, 75%, Rain, 25%, other, 50%). All status conditions are cured.

Overview: 100% accuracy poison, team leftover heal effect, in combination with a status healing team synthesis, makes this the ultimate stall core to those who don't have steels/poison mons, or cannot outright kill one of the partners. Can get overpowered (Z-fly lando, celebi defensive weaknesses, etc) but hard walls many teams.

Others to use!
Wailord and Magikarp:
Buzzwole and Pheromosa:
Latios and Latias:
Zekrom and Pikachu:

Just a question that I thought of while creating a sub . How do megas work in here? Do we assign the Mega Pokémon itself or the base Pokémon to the pair, and let the Mega just be an option in battle? If it’s the former, then in battle, if the Pokémon has yet to mega evolve, do both become unable to form a pair? If it’s the latter, what about Mega Charizard X and Y, who may both benefit from the pair synergy?

Megas can simply be utilized. You pair only the bases of the two Pokemon, and any Mega Evolutions can be utilized freely. This includes split Mega Evos for Charizard, or even if both Pokemon in the pair can go Mega. The exception to this rule is the pair Marshadow & Lucario, for which Mega Lucario is banned.

Team: Heatran & Cresselia
Strategy: Day Night Cycle (On odd turns of being out, Heatran is lifted off the ground while Cresselia is considered grounded. On even turns of being out, Heatran is grounded while Cresselia is off the ground. When Heatran is off the ground, its Fire moves are boosted by 1.5x. When Cresselia is off the ground, its healing moves also affect Heatran.)

Heatran's Technique: Solar Eclipse (Eruption/Lunar Dance)
Type: Fire
Classification: Special
Power: 150
Accuracy: 100
Effect: Heatran is fully healed before the attack's damage is calculated. However, Cresselia loses an equal amount of HP to the amount Heatran is healed by.
Flavor: Cresselia sits in front of Heatran, and pours its energy into Heatran, which uses it to unleash a devastating attack.

Cresselia's Technique: Lunar Landing (Rest + Psycho Shift)
Type: Psychic
Classification: Status
Power: -
Accuracy: -
Effect: Cresselia Rests to full HP. It then transfers the sleep status to a random foe, which lasts one turn. If the foe is already under a status condition, Cresselia will simply wake up.
Flavor: Cresselia rests atop Heatran, the soothing warmth lulling it to sleep. This feeling is then transferred to the foe by Cresselia within the dream world, which wakes it up.

Overview: Heatran is a solid Pokemon in the Doubles metagame thanks to STAB Heat Wave and powerful Special Attack, but it can be tough for it to deal with Ground types and EQ due to its 4x weakness. However, when on a team with Cresselia, it starts in the air by default! The two rise and fall, and when they are in the sky, they possess more capabilities. Their technique synergies are solid too. Using Solar Eclipse when Heatran is airborne deals an incredible amount of damage, and Lunar Landing while Cresselia is in the air also allows Heatran to recover to full. Taking advantage of the different times of day is the key to victory with this pair.

Alright, the first slate is over! Due to the lack of submissions for Marshadow & Lucario, Samtendo's submission is official! That leaves the rest of the submissions to vote for. The voting system is as follows: six total votes, with two of those being self votes. However, if you want to make a self vote, you must vote for at least two other submissions per self vote. Voting commences!
