[OVERVIEW]

Mandibuzz's typing, excellent mixed bulk, reliable recovery, and good utility options make it a great defensive Pokemon in UU, checking many offensive threats such as Excadrill, Aegislash, Gyarados, and Zarude. It is also a decent Defogger with solid matchups against entry hazard setters such as Excadrill and Jirachi. Mandibuzz's relatively high Speed for a defensive Pokemon lets it get the jump on slower wallbreakers such as Swords Dance Aegislash. However, its reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots leaves it with a crippling weakness to Knock Off from Pokemon that Mandibuzz tries to pivot into such as Krookodile and Tangrowth. If it loses its item, Mandibuzz easily gets overwhelmed, as it often has to deal with numerous threats and is forced to use Roost often. Mandibuzz's typing also leaves it weak to common threats such as Nihilego, Thundurus-T, Azumarill, and Primarina.

[SET COMMENTS]

Foul Play allows Mandibuzz to hit Excadrill and Gyarados for big damage and discourage them from using their setup moves in front of it. Brave Bird lets it hit Conkeldurr, Tapu Bulu, and Keldeo super effectively. Knock Off punishes switch-ins like Primarina and Thundurus-T by removing their items. Defog can also be used due to its good matchup against certain entry hazard setters such as Excadrill and Jirachi, but Mandibuzz can't beat other setters like Nihilego or Diancie, so it should only be run if absolutely necessary. U-turn lets Mandibuzz pivot out of unfavorable matchups such as Nihilego and Nidoking and bring in a teammate that can threaten them. Overcoat lets Mandibuzz pivot in on Spore and Stun Spore from Amoonguss and Roserade, though it must be wary of Sludge Bomb poisons. Amoonguss also has more opportunities to fish for them since it has the bulk to take Brave Bird well, unlike Roserade. 96 Speed EVs let Mandibuzz outspeed Modest Primarina and Adamant Aegislash, with the remaining EVs invested in physical bulk to maximize its ability to take on wallbreakers like Zygarde-10% and Dragon Dance Salamence.

Mandibuzz is found on bulky offense and balance teams as a solid glue, combining the roles of pivot, mixed wall, and Ghost resist into one teammate. Amoonguss is a great partner that absorbs Knock Off and covers Mandibuzz's matchups against Azumarill and Primarina, while Mandibuzz checks threats such as Salamence and Necrozma; Mandibuzz does have to worry about Meteor Beam from the latter, though. Excadrill can provide Rapid Spin support to free Mandibuzz from running Defog while checking Hatterene and being a secondary check to Aegislash. Colbur Berry Slowking and Swampert check threats such as Conkeldurr, Nihilego, and Nidoking, and they appreciate Mandibuzz's ability to check Aegislash and Zarude. In addition, Mandibuzz forms a pivot core with Slowking. Diancie and Nihilego appreciate Mandibuzz checking Excadrill and Zarude. Their good special bulk lets them pivot into Thundurus-T, Hydreigon, and Galarian Moltres, with Diancie providing additional support with Heal Bell. Frail wallbreakers such as Lycanroc-D and Nidoking struggle to switch in, so they appreciate the slow U-turn Mandibuzz provides.

Other Options
=============

Toxic punishes switch-ins like Thundurus-T and Diancie. Taunt can shut down defensive Pokemon such as Chansey and Celesteela that rely on passive damage to break through Mandibuzz.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Primarina can force Mandibuzz out, as it can nail it with Moonblast or set up a Substitute for free. Azumarill can force it out with Choice Band-boosted Play Rough.

**Rock-types**: Nihilego is able to freely switch into Mandibuzz and hit it with either Power Gem or Meteor Beam. Diancie resists Mandibuzz's STAB moves, but it does not like its Leftovers being removed by Knock Off. Lycanroc-D can deal huge damage to Mandibuzz but does have to worry about taking big damage itself from Foul Play.

**Fighting-types**: Without Brave Bird, Mandibuzz doesn't have a way to deal with Conkeldurr and Keldeo, since they can force it out with their strong STAB moves. Cobalion, in particular, takes advantage of sets that only run Dark-type moves because of Justified.

**Knock Off**: Mandibuzz's reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots means that taking a Knock Off leaves it vulnerable to Stealth Rock. This means that it is deterred from switching into Pokemon that it would normally check such as Azelf and Tangrowth.

**Status**: Toxic from Pokemon that Mandibuzz normally checks such as Excadrill and Aegislash hampers its usually good longevity, forcing it to use Roost more often and leading it to be overwhelmed over time. Burn prevents Mandibuzz from checking setup sweepers such as Gyarados and Salamence reliably.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Thundurus-T, Tapu Bulu, and Nidoking all can muscle through Mandibuzz with their powerful attacks, and Mandibuzz cannot do much to stop them.

- Mandibuzz's typing, mixed bulk, reliable recovery, and good utility options make it a great defensive Pokemon in UU, checking many threats such as Excadrill, Aegislash, Krookodile, (knock= death sentence, cut it) Gyarados, Zarude, and Salamence.
-expand on a few utility options here (foul play, knock, defog)
- Its relatively high Speed for a defensive Pokemon lets it get jump on slower wallbreakers such as Swords Dance Aegislash.
- Even with these nice qualities, Mandibuzz can still be very passive against offensive threats, since many foes carry pivoting moves and Toxic to put in an unfavorable situations.
-add how it is reliant on heavy duty boots, making a knock off fatal. also add how it can be passive at times and will get overwhelmed checking all the threats it is tasked to
- Its typing, though good, leaves it weak to common threats such as Nihilego, Thundurus-T, Azumarill, and Primarina.

- Foul Play punishes Swords Dance and Dragon Dance attempts from Excadrill and Gyarados for big damage.
- Brave Bird lets it hit Mienshao, Keldeo, Tapu Bulu, Zarude, and Conkeldurr.
- Knock Off can punish switch-ins like from Primarina and Thundurus-T by removing their items. Leftovers and Heavy-Duty Boots.
- On stall teams, Defog can be used over either Brave Bird or Knock Off, but it makes very passive and often isn't. isn't what??? It's moreover the fact it doesn't really beat any entry hazard setters since they either KO it or toxic it, say how it should only be run if absolutely needed
- U-turn lets pivot out of unfavorable matchups such as Nihilego and Mamoswine, bringing in a teammate that can threaten them.
- Overcoat lets it pivot in on Spore and Stun Spore Sleep Powder rose doesn't run sleep powder really from Amoonguss and Roserade.
- 96 Speed EVs lets it outspeed Primarina and Aegislash, with the remaining EVs invested in physical bulk to maximize Mandibuzz's ability to take on wallbreakers like Zygarde-10% and Dragon Dance Salamence.

- Mandibuzz is found on bulky offense, balance, and stall as a solid glue. expand on why it is a good glue mon. combines pivot, ghost-type resist, and mixed wall into one
- Amoonguss is a great partner, as it covers its matchups against Mienshao, Azumarill, and Primarina, while Mandibuzz checks. checks what? complete this
- Excadrill can provide Rapid Spin support to free up a move slot for Mandibuzz. add how it checks electric- and fairy-types like rotom-w and hatterene as well as act as a secondary check to aegislash
- If running Knock Off, Roserade makes a great partner, due to Mandibuzz removing Leftovers from Celesteela, and Roserade checking Primarina and Keldeo. too repetitive of the amoonguss point, would never pair rose with mandi over amoong

- Colbur Berry Slowking is able to switch into Knock Off from Fighting-types like Mienshao and Conkeldurr and fire back with Psychic. add how they make a pivot core and slowking also checks nihilego and keldeo
- Starmie can deal with many threats to Mandibuzz such as non-Choice Scarf Mienshao, Lycanroc-D, Nihilego, Nidoking, while appreciating Mandibuzz bringing it on a slow U-turn.
-try to expand on this area more in general, feels pretty bare

- Toxic can be used to punish switch-ins like Thundurus-T.
- Taunt synergizing well with Defog, preventing hazards from going up. It also blocks status from defensive Pokemon such as Chansey.
- Whirlwind can force out set-up sweepers such as Galarian Moltres, Celesteela, and Hydreigon that it cannot threaten with Foul Play.

Checks and Counters

**Fairy-types**: Primarina can force Mandibuzz out, as it can nail it with Moonblast can cripple it with a Scald burn or and set up a Substitute for free. Azumarill can force it out with Choice Band-boosted attack or set up a Belly Drum, though it does not want to take a +6 Foul Play.

add a point on rock types, mention nihilego lycanroc and diancie here

**Fighting-types**: Without Brave Bird, Mandibuzz doesn't have a way to deal with Fighting-types, as they can force it out or deal big damage. what fighting-types? specify please

**Knock Off**: Mandibuzz's reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots means that taking a Knock Off leaves it vulnerable to Stealth Rock, hindering its ability to check its targets consistently. mention how Pokemon it would normally check like azelf and tangrowth can hinder it with knock off

**Status**: Toxic from Pokemon that Mandibuzz can check such as Excadrill and Aegislash hampers its usually good longevity, forcing it to switch out or take damage. Burn hurts Mandibuzz since it relies on Foul Play as its main damage output while leaving it without a way to consistently deal with Fighting-types with Brave Bird.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Nasty Plot Thundurus-T, Mamoswine, and Nidoking all can muscle through Mandibuzz with their powerful attacks since Mandibuzz cannot do much to stop them. Galarian Moltres, Lycanroc-D, and Meteor Beam Nihilego can force out Mandibuzz since it can't deal much damage to them.

[OVERVIEW]

- Mandibuzz's typing, mixed bulk, reliable recovery, and good utility options make it a great defensive Pokemon in UU, checking many threats such as Excadrill, Aegislash, Gyarados, and Zarude, and Salamence.
- Foul Play prevents set-up sweepers such as Dragon Dance Gyarados from running over defensive teams, Knock Off can punish switch-ins by removing their items, and Defog can lets it clear hazards. This very much feels like it belongs in set comments. I would solely focus on how it can be a decent Defog user and which hazard setters it beats
- Its relatively high Speed for a defensive Pokemon lets it get the jump on slower wallbreakers such as Swords Dance Aegislash.
- Even with these nice qualities, Mandibuzz can still be very passive against offensive threats, since many foes carry pivoting moves and Toxic to put it in unfavorable situations. This doesn't make sense. How does a mon having Toxic or a pivot move result in Mandibuzz being passive? U-turn is there to alleviate how passive it would be. You are trying to link two things that don't have a connection. Either reword or remove.
- Its reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots leaves it with a crippling weakness to Knock Off, making it more passive since it has to deal with so many threats in a game. Again 'passive' is not the correct choice of word here. It doesn't become passive when it loses its boots, it becomes overwhelmed trying to check X and Y if Stealth Rock goes up and is forced to Roost more. I would also note some common Knock users it may want to pivot into like Krookodile and Tangrowth.
- Mandibuzz's typing, though good, leaves it weak to common threats such as Nihilego, Thundurus-T, Azumarill, and Primarina.

[SET COMMENTS]

- Foul Play punishes Swords Dance and Dragon Dance attempts from Excadrill and Gyarados for big damage. I would reword this to say how it hits them hard and discourages them from using their setup moves in front of it.
- Brave Bird lets it hit Pokemon like Mienshao, Keldeo, Tapu Bulu, Zarude, and Conkeldurr that resist Foul Play. Too many examples, cut it down to 3.
- Knock Off can punish switch-ins like Primarina and Thundurus-T by removing their items.
- On stall teams, Defog can be used over either Brave Bird or Knock Off. This is implied However, it makes Mandibuzz very passive and often isn't worth it since it can't beat entry hazard setters, which can OHKO it or use Toxic on it, so it should only be used if absolutely necessary. Defog is not exclusive to stall, Mandi isn't even that common on that playstyle. BO and balance can run it if they really need the removal. Also, you're reasoning is too vague and unclear. Which hazard setters beat it? You haven't mentioned this elsewhere. I would also restate some of the hazard setters it beats at the start of this point.
- U-turn lets pivot out of unfavorable matchups such as Nihilego and Mamoswine, bringing in a teammate that can threaten them. The chances of mamo wanting to hard into Mandi is pretty low given FP does over 50.
- Overcoat lets it pivot in on Spore and Stun Spore from Amoonguss and Roserade. I would note that they can still heavily punish Manidbuzz with a Sludge Bomb poison, particularly Amoonguss who can stomach multiple BB.
- 96 Speed EVs lets it outspeed Primarina and Aegislash, with the remaining EVs invested in physical bulk to maximize Mandibuzz's ability to take on wallbreakers like Zygarde-10% and Dragon Dance Salamence.

- Mandibuzz is found on bulky offense and balance, and stall as a solid glue, combining being a pivot, Ghost resist, and mixed wall into one.
- Amoonguss is a great partner, as it covers its matchups against Mienshao, Azumarill, and Primarina, while Mandibuzz checks threats such as Nasty Plot Azelf, Galarian Slowbro, and Salamence. You do not beat Galarian Slowbro, it is the other way around. Saying it checks NP Azelf is a bit sketchy given you drop to +2 Dazzling. I would also state how Amoong is a good Knock absorber, especially from Krook and Tang.
- Excadrill can provide Rapid Spin support to free up Defog on Mandibuzz while checking Rotom-W and Hatterene while being a secondary check to Aegislash. I'm a bit sceptical of the Washtom mention given it's not like you can hard into it.
- Colbur Berry Slowking is able to switch into Knock Off from Fighting-types like Mienshao and Conkeldurr and fire back with Psychic. It also checks Nihilego and Keldeo while forming a pivot core with it.
- Starmie can deal with many threats to Mandibuzz such as Lycanroc-D, Nihilego, and Nidoking, while appreciating Mandibuzz bringing it on a slow U-turn. Why is Starmie and Slowking even a separated point? They both check Fighting-types. Most of these examples cross over with Slowking too. Just compress.
- Diancie appreciates Mandibuzz checking Excadrill, Aegislash, and Zarude while clearing entry hazards for it to remain on the field more often. In return, Diancie checks Thundurus-T and provides Heal Bell support. This point could easily slot in Nihilego. I would focus on how they have good special bulk letting them pivot into Thundy, Hydra, Galar Moltres. Then note how Diancie also has Heal Bell support for it.

Give a mention to some wallbreakers that struggle to switchin that Mandi can bring in with a slow pivot.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

- Toxic can be used to punish switch-ins like Thundurus-T. Give another example at least
- Taunt synergizing well with Defog, preventing hazards from going up. It also blocks status from defensive Pokemon such as Chansey. I would not run Taunt with Defog. I would simply use it over Defog. So mention some defensive Pokemon it can shut down from using X and Y
- Whirlwind can force out set-up sweepers such as Galarian Moltres, Celesteela, and Hydreigon that it cannot threaten with Foul Play.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Primarina can force Mandibuzz out, as it can nail it with Moonblast or set up a Substitute for free. Azumarill can force it out with Choice Band-boosted attacks or set up a Belly Drum, though it does not want to take a +6 Foul Play. In this context, you really don't try and set up a BD in front of Mandi. It is rather obvious what teams a BD Azu fit on. You will simply lose the exchange.

**Rock-types**: Nihilego, Lycanroc-D, and Diancie are able to threaten Mandibuzz and force it out. This is too vague. Give a bit more depth like you did above. Only Nihi and Diancie can hard in vs it. Lycan takes too much from FP for example. Add this type of info.

**Fighting-types**: Without Brave Bird, Mandibuzz doesn't have a way to deal with Mienshao, Conkeldurr, and Keldeo, since they can force it out or deal big damage. I would rather see a mention of Coba > Keldeo and how it values the Justified boost.

**Knock Off**: Mandibuzz's reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots means that taking a Knock Off leaves it vulnerable to Stealth Rock, hindering its ability to check Pokemon like Azelf and Tangrowth that it would normally check consistently. Maybe you need to reword this a bit. Are you implying these are Pokemon it would pivot into but because they carry Knock it is deterred from doing so?

**Status**: Toxic from Pokemon that Mandibuzz can check such as Excadrill and Aegislash hampers its usually good longevity, forcing it to switch out or take damage. It forces it to use Roost more and lets them overwhelm it over time. Burn hurts Mandibuzz since it relies on Foul Play as its main damage output while leaving it without a way to consistently deal with Fighting-types with Brave Bird. Just say burn prevents it from checking setup sweepers like Gyara and Mence reliably.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Nasty Plot Thundurus-T, Mamoswine, and Nidoking all can muscle through Mandibuzz with their powerful attacks since Mandibuzz cannot do much to stop them. Well, Mamo takes 50 from Foul Play so I would say that is something. I would focus on examples that either resists Foul Play or have low base Attack.

Mandibuzz's typing, mixed bulk, reliable recovery, and good utility options make it a great defensive Pokemon in UU, checking many threats, (AC) such as Excadrill, Aegislash, Gyarados, and Zarude. It is also a decent Defogger with a solid matchup against entry hazard setters such as Excadrill and Jirachi. Mandibuzz's relatively high Speed for a defensive Pokemon lets it get the jump on slower wallbreakers such as Swords Dance Aegislash. However, its reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots leaves it with a crippling weakness to Knock Off from users that Mandibuzz tries to pivot in into such as Krookodile and Tangrowth. This leaves it very overwhelmed if Stealth Rock goes up since it has to deal with so many threats in a game and forced to use Roost often. If it loses its item, Mandibuzz easily gets overwhelmed, as it has to deal with many threats and must use Roost often. Mandibuzz's typing also leaves it weak to common threats, (AC) such as Nihilego, Thundurus-T, Azumarill, and Primarina.

Foul Play hits Excadrill and Gyarados for big damage and discourages them from using their set-up moves in front of it (or Foul Play allows Mandibuzz to hit Excadrill and Gyarados for big damage and discourage them from using their set-up moves in front of it). Brave Bird lets it Mandibuzz hit Conkeldurr, Tapu Bulu, and Keldeo. Knock Off can punish switch-ins like Primarina and Thundurus-T by removing their items. Defog can be used due to its Mandibuzz's good match up matchup against certain entry hazard setters, (AC) such as Excadrill and Jirachi, but it can't beat other setters such as Nihilego or Diancie, so it should only be used if absolutely necessary. U-turn lets Mandibuzz pivot out of unfavorable matchups such as Nihilego and Nidoking, (RC) bringing and bring in a teammate that can threaten them. 96 Speed EVs let Mandibuzz outspeed Primarina and Aegislash, with the remaining EVs invested in physical bulk to maximize its ability to take on wallbreakers like Zygarde-10% and Dragon Dance Salamence.

Mandibuzz is found on bulky offense and balance teams as a solid glue, combining being roles as a pivot, (RC) Ghost resist, (RC) and mixed wall into one, (AC) while also resisting Ghost-type attacks from (mons) (i think this is a better/more informative way to organize this sentence + gets rid of "ghost resist"). Amoonguss is a great partner that absorbs Knock Off and covers Mandibuzz's matchups against Azumarill and Primarina, while enjoying Mandibuzz's ability to checks threats such as Salamence and Necrozma. Mandibuzz does have to worry about Meteor Beam from the latter, though. Excadrill can provide Rapid Spin support to free up reduce the need to run Defog on Mandibuzz while checking Hatterene and being a secondary check to Aegislash. Colbur Berry Slowking and Starmie check threats such as Mienshao, Conkeldurr, Nihilego, and Nidoking, and they appreciate with Mandibuzz's ability to checking Aegislash and Zarude. (AP) In addition, Mandibuzz can form while forming a pivot core with Slowking. Diancie and Nihilego appreciate Mandibuzz checking Excadrill and Zarude. Their good special bulk lets them pivot into Thundurus-T, Hydreigon, and Galarian Moltres, with Diancie providing additional support with Heal Bell. Frailer wallbreakers such as Lycanroc-D and Nidoking struggle to switch in, (AC) so they appreciate the slow U-turn Mandibuzz provides.

Toxic can be used to punish switch-ins like Thundurus-T and Diancie. Taunt can shut down defensive Pokemon such as Chansey and Celesteela that rely on status to break through Mandibuzz.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: Primarina can force Mandibuzz out, as it can nail it with Moonblast or set up a Substitute for free. Azumarill can force it out with Choice Band-boosted attacks.

**Rock-types**: Nihilego is able to freely switch into Mandibuzz and hit it with either Power Gem or Meteor Beam. Diancie resists Mandibuzz's STAB moves due to its typing, but it does not like its Leftovers being removed. Lycanroc-D can deal huge damage but does have to worry about taking big damage in return from Foul Play.

**Fighting-types**: Without Brave Bird, Mandibuzz doesn't have a way to deal with Conkeldurr and Keldeo, since they can force it out or deal big damage. Cobalion in particular takes advantage of sets that only run Dark-(AH)type moves with Justified boosts.

**Knock Off**: Mandibuzz's reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots means that taking a Knock Off leaves it vulnerable to Stealth Rock. This means that it is deterred from switching into Pokemon that it would normally check such as Azelf and Tangrowth.

**Status**: Toxic from Pokemon that Mandibuzz can check such as Excadrill and Aegislash hampers its usually good longevity, forcing it to use Roost more often and overwhelm overwhelming it over time. Burn prevents it Mandibuzz from checking setup sweepers such as Gyarados and Salamence reliably.

**Strong Wallbreakers**: Thundurus-T, Tapu Bulu, and Nidoking all can muscle through Mandibuzz with their powerful attacks since Mandibuzz cannot do much to stop them.
