(Just imagine Grass/Fire Chien-Pao)
Pokemon Name: Zabir
Typing:

Abilities: Hyper Cutter / Sharpness | Drought (HA)
Stats: 100 / 122 / 99 / 44 / 88 / 77 [BST: 530]
Notable Moves: Bitter Blade, Blaze Kick, Close Combat, Flame Charge, Flare Blitz, Leaf Blade, Night Slash, Psycho Cut, Razor Shell, Sacred Sword, Solar Blade, Swords Dance, Synthesis, Trailblaze, Will-O-Wisp
Flavor Moves: Absorb, Aerial Ace, Air Cutter, Air Slash, Blast Burn, Burn Up, Cut, Double Kick, Ember, Energy Ball, Fire Blast, Fire Pledge, Fire Spin, Flame Burst, Flamethrower, Frenzy Plant, Giga Drain, Grass Knot, Grass Pledge, Grassy Glide, Grassy Terrain, Heat Wave, Incinerate, Inferno, Lava Plume, Leafage, Leaf Storm, Leaf Tornado, Leech Seed, Low Kick, Magical Leaf, Mega Drain, Mega Kick, Overheat, Razor Leaf, Razor Wind, Sharpen, Slash, Solar Beam, Sunny Day, Triple Kick, X-Scissor
Weight: 49.2 kg
Description: A straightforward setup sweeper. It will be walled by Skeldrake if it doesn't run Night Slash. Being slower than Cramorant and Revavroom might be a problem for it as well if it doesn't run Flame Charge or Trailblaze, but you can only choose to counter one or else you can also choose to lose one of your hard hitting STAB.

Stats: 95/120/85/100/90/75 (BST: 565)
Movepool Changes:

Totally new submission that hasn't been in this thread before :psysly:

Pokemon: Leavanny

Abilities: Chlorophyll / Tinted Lens / Swarm
Stats: 85/113/75/50/75/102 | 500 BST [+10/+10/-5/-20/-5/+10]
Movepool Changes:
  • + Close Combat, Drain Punch, U-Turn, Victory Dance
  • - Electroweb, Sticky Web, Heal Bell, Reflect/Light Screen, Safeguard
Description: Decently fast set-up sweeper with its more support oriented options removed. VD or SD as set-up options, Drain Punch to maintain offensive momentum and Fell Stinger can be a potent win-condition combined with set-up.

Pokemon: Rayquaza
Type:

Ability: Air Lock
Stats: 125 / 170 / 110 / 70 / 110 / 95
+
-Aqua Tail, Dragon Dance, Draco Meteor, Earthquake, Extreme Speed, Fly, V-Create, Waterfall

Dragon Ascent |
|
Status
| BP: -- | Acc: -- | PP: 8 | Summons Strong Winds for 4 turns.

Description: clinically insane. Rayquaza boasts massive stats, an amazing typing, and even utility in Defog, U-turn, and Toxic. Its massive bulk is held back by a lack of recovery, however, so it prefers to play a more offensive role with utility slotted here and there. Nothing else is weird about this Pokemon.

Pokémon: Mummisilk
Type: Ghost / Fighting
Abilities: Sticky Hold / Unnerve / Mummy (HA)
Stats: 105 / 151 / 75 / 59 / 105 / 20 | 515
Movepool:
Physical: Phantom Force, Shadow Claw, Shadow Sneak, Superpower, Drain Punch, Brick Break, Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Thunder Punch, Knock Off, Sucker Punch, Earthquake, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Rock Tomb
Special: NA
Status: Curse, Bulk Up, Will-O-Wisp, Stealth Rock, Sticky Web
Description: With a massive attack stat, fantastic offensive typing, and solid movepool, Mummisilk serves as a threatening physical wallbreaker. Its bottom of the barrel speed can also let it be a Trick Room sweeper. It also has various utility like multiple hazards. However, it is painfully slow, making it very reliant on Trick Room. Its average physical bulk also means physical attackers can easily take it out outside of Trick Room. While good offensively, Ghost/Fighting is not that good defensively, having common weaknesses like Flying and Ghost. Lastly, it lacks a good Fighting type STAB move, either relying on the weak Drain Punch or attack-lowering Superpower.

Pokemon: Elewig
Type: Bug / Electric
Abilities: Magnet Pull / Static / Electric Surge (HA)
Stats: 64 / 50 / 70 / 128 / 78 / 95 | 485
Movepool:
Physical: U-Turn, Knock Off
Special: Bug Buzz, Thunder, Thunderbolt, Discharge, Rising Voltage, Volt Switch, Energy Ball, Giga Drain, Flash Cannon, Dazzling Gleam, Dark Pulse, Shadow Ball, Psychic, Psyshock, Weather Ball
Status: Sticky Web, Thunder Wave, Electric Terrain, Toxic
Description: With a high SpA stat, good coverage, and solid abilities, Elewig serves as a solid wallbreaker and offensive pivot. Magnet Pull lets it trap and take down bulky Steels, while Electric Surge provides team support and devastatingly strong Rising Voltages. With access to Sticky Web, Elewig can make up for its only decent speed and provide support. However, its poor bulk and weakness to Stealth Rock means it can easily be taken down, especially since its speed isn’t the greatest.

Pokemon: Volcobra
Stats: 80 / 110 / 80 / 70 / 100 / 80 [520 BST]
Type: Fire/Poison
Abilities: Adaptability / Shed Skin / Armor Tail [HA]
Movepool:
Notable Moves: Flare Blitz, Poison Jab, Gunk Shot, Dragon Dance, Night Slash, Crunch, U-turn, Swords Dance, Iron Head, Psychic Fangs
Flavor: Fire Fang, Ember, Flamethrower, Fire Blast, Sludge, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Leech Life, Taunt, Toxic, Recover, Substitute, Will-o-Wisp, Leech Life, Quick Attack, Pounce, Protect, Flame Charge, Fell Stinger, Psycho Cut, Shadow Claw, Mud Shot, Mud-Slap, Rest, Incinerate, Inferno, Aerial Ace, Giga Drain, Air Cutter, Round, Fire Spin, Wrap, Constrict, Lash Out, Cross Poison, Poison Fang, Low Sweep
Description: Set up with Dragon Dance and let your Adaptability-boosted Flare Blitzes and Gunk Shots/Poison Jabs go wild on the opponent. Has decent special bulk to ensure a sweep, and a decent speed tier for the current meta as well. It has some coverage in Night Slash/Crunch and Iron Head/Psychic Fangs, with the former for Skeldrake and the latter for Glimmora [it cannot run both on one set, as you only have one slot after factoring in DD, Flare Blitz and Poison Jab/Gunk Shot]. However, it has poor physical bulk and its speed tier falls just short against mons like Revavroom and Cramorant. In addition, it has rather poor longevity due to Flare Blitz recoil and a defensive typing riddled with weaknesses, especially to Stealth Rock.

Movepool Changes:
+ Boomburst, Explosion
Description: Access to pivoting moves, Roost, plenty of utility, and a passable Speed tier make it an effective offensive pivot. The combination of Nasty Plot, Aerilate, and Boomburst let it wallbreak despite its lousy Special Attack.

Type: Ghost / Ice
Abilities: Cursed Body / Tangling Hair / Infiltrator

+ Icicle Crash, Ice Shard, Blizzard, Ice Beam, Aurora Beam, Icy Wind, Mystical Fire
- Flamethrower
Description: p interesting sigmove that can punish mons using draco and stuff, plus can take advantage of mystical fire or webs or tangling hair or other stuff.

Pokemon: Darmanitan-Zen
Stats: 110 / 85 / 85 / 85 / 85 / 80 | 530
Type: Fire / Psychic
Abilities: Rising Sun (This Pokemon's physical attacks raise its Spa by 1, and vice versa.)
Movepool Changes:
+ Photon Geyser, Psyshock, Aura Sphere
- Focus Blast, Bulk Up, Belly Drum
Description: pulling a solomod ability. forces mixed sets and lacks v good speed, recovery, or good coverage against cram/skeldrake, but a very fun ability regardless

so first i think opportunist mirror herb spicy extract is fire, knock off cuz it's a powerful stab and p whip for the same reason p shot against some u-turn, then tangling hair with the new bitter malice look like fire too (130 bp is the power of a dm) and some ice type moves too yup really good

lastly darmatitan-zen ability look really good and if it look op first, but u need mixed atk to have the boosts u want

to much bitter blade, ravor shell is only for water type mons however the fact that Arthropuffin can run more than one set is cool, zabir look good with a good coverage and defensive type will having drought for solar blade and fire type moves surely goin' to be a better chien pao

nothing much to say balanced by a bunch of things being slow might be a problem if the adv run some rock type moves and u need one turn to be usuable, so great but really specific

i don't like legendaries so... but d ascent summoning strong winds is a cooler than close combat but flying type losing some coverage but gaining a better typing yeah... not sure it's a great idea

drain punch is good, trick room abuser surely but have some utility for hazards or K-off or S-punch, awesome special e surge or traping guy that's awesome but clodsire resist it's stabs so yeah balanced

Pokemon: Volcobra
Stats: 80 / 110 / 80 / 70 / 100 / 80 [520 BST]

:sv/miraidon:
Pokemon: Miraidon
Typing: Electric / Dragon
Abilities: Hadron Engine
Stats: 100 / 75 / 85 / 90 / 85 / 115 (BST: 550)
Movepool Changes:
- U-Turn, Volt Switch, Dazzling Gleam, Overheat
Electro Drift: 70 BP, 16 PP, Electric-type, Special, Contact. The user switches out after use. Deals 1.3x damage if SE against the target
Description: Fast offensive pivot that can set terrains with Hadron Engine to improve its subpar Special Attack. It has some decent bulk too and a great typing for our current mons, most notably Cramorant and Skeldrake. Has zero coverage in its special moves however unless you wanna run Power Gem or Flash Cannon.

:ss/metagross:
Pokemon: Metagross
Typing: Steel / Psychic
Abilities: Clear Body / Iron Fist (Steadfast)
Stats: 70 / 120 / 100 / 90 / 100 / 70 (BST: 545)
Movepool Changes: +Psycho Cut, Fire Punch
-Toxic
Description: For a Pokemon that's always associated with Meteor Mash, it always seemed weird to me that Metagross, the Pokemon with literal iron fists, doesn't get Iron Fist. So now it does! A lowered statline is compensated for by high-powered, 108 BP Meteor Mashes, boosted Thunder and Ice punches, and even a buffed Bullet Punch. Weaknesses come in slowness, lack of recovery, and minimal good ways of setting up its Attack (being limited to Power-Up Punch and Hone Claws).

other one may come soon

:sv/scream-tail:
Name: Scream Tail
Typing:

Abilities: Protosynthesis / Sheer Force [HA]
Stats: 111 / 81 / 83 / 81 / 99 / 115 [570 BST]
Movepool Changes: None
Description: Scream Tail’s offensive movepool actually goes pretty well when paired with Sheer Force. So, I buffed Scream Tail’s offenses while lowering its defenses in turn. Special movepool packs overall better power, however lacks SF boost on fairy STAB, meanwhile Physical packs weaker BP moves all around, but grants SF boost on fairy STAB with Play Rough.

Move Change: Fishious Rend: Water Type 80BP move, Physical, 50% to lower Defense, Makes Contact
Description: Dracovish is now no longer a super strong Pokémon with a broken move and Ability. However, its stats have been improved so that it has better mixed bulk and speed.

It's been a while, huh? Almost three months without ANY thread activity? Well, Mad Chemists is back! We've only completed a bit of the move cost spreadsheet, but for the time being it can be found here. Any moves that have their cost blank will cost 3 points for the time being until we polish it up (this unfortunately includes some flavor moves, but that may not matter much in the midst of competitively adding moves.) Nonetheless, since new Pet Mods and old ones have been taking off recently, we've decided to return! You'll be able to sign up to be a scientist in the thread for 48 hours from now by posting "in" in the thread since our winning submissions have been randomly chosen. Good luck!
