Also, for those of you who are curious and want some fascinating insight to the world of voiceover, this is kind of how people do it in the pandemic-times.

But the idea is to mute as much sound and reverb as possible. My issue is twofold: there's a droning air conditioning unit for the whole building just outside this building, and the walls are very flat and stuff. This means I need to make this closet both soundproof and I need to eliminate reverb as much as possible. Blankets and duvets are great for that and I plan to hang up a sleeping bag on the wall, but I also have fiberglass panels behind those to sort of double layer things. Treating the space is hard, but not so hard if you know how to do it. The best thing too is that you can do it for cheap too, no need to always buy fancy foam when you can pack with clothes. When you're where I am right now in your voice over career, it's important to understand that you shouldn't operate out of debt, you should only pay for as much as you're going to be making. In this case, I COULD have bought a studiobricks thing or whatever, but why do that when I could just buy command strips?
From there there's a cable from my PC which has my audio interface onto the stand which you see on the left, twhich is where the microphone will go. This means I can effectively record all on my PC and not transfer files, which rocks. the one thing I'll need to add though is a way to acess a laptop in there so I can do live sessions with clients as well and it might be a little tricky to do live monitoring in this way. Luckily, that's why I have backup interfaces as well and could just plug one in directly as well if it comes down to it. I maaaaaaaaaaay invest in a wireless monitor or something, but that's something I'll consider with income.
All that's to say I'm almost ready.
