Implemented Ladder Tour Accounts as Alternatives for Suspect Reqs

In the past few weeks, there have been a lot of Ladder Tours started in lower current gen tiers (specifically UULT, RULT, NULT, ULT). This has caused a discussion within the Tiering Council about how suspects should be done during these times, because otherwise there's essentially a month period where no tiering action can occur. As a result, we would like to allow Tier Leaders the option to use Ladder Tour alts as an alternative to the suspect tag when qualifying for suspect requisites.

We would like to standardize this option by saying that ladder alts need the same GXE and game requisites to qualify for a suspect. There is a slight concern about cheating being easier because people often ladder past the point where they would've achieved reqs, so we advise that Tier Leaders either check whether the alt's numbers are fraudulent soon after the post is made, or for the player that achieved reqs to show the leaderboard in the Ladder Tour room that shows the same GXE and ELO as their screenshot so it can be verified.

We'll be leaving this thread open for a few days to gather feedback, but the plan is to implement this if there isn't major criticism after this period.

Reviving this as RU is now in a situation in which we'd like to implement something like this. RULT is on its last qualifying week, and we are planning on holding a suspect test soon on one of the more problematic mons in the past couple of weeks.

We'd like for those who laddered and qualified (we are doing a top 6 qualifiers per week) the entire past month to be able to qualify for the suspect test, as this RULT has been by far the most popular in terms of signups and active players, which has made it a gruesome ladder experience to top it off with a suspect in which they'll have to ladder more.

This isn't exactly what this thread is about, but it's an expansion of the idea. We could very well reward these players in an upcoming survey, but we feel their effort deserves more. With the difficulties to get people in suspect voting this gen, it feels counterproductive to force people that obviously are involved in the tier, and deserving of a voice in the matter, to do more laddering.

I’d like to extend the OP to include an expansion to general tours going on like seasonals/open or the equivalent. It’s pretty clear since gen 8 that suspect laddering is an outdated mode of informing whether users are qualified enough to vote on the inclusion or exclusion of a particular Pokemon in especially non OU tiers. Lots of suspect tests also end up having like 10 voters because people can’t be asked to get requirements. Including certain users like those who get far in tournaments would be a good idea to get more qualified voters and have a more unbiased view as in the current scenario a small number of users, some of which may be new, would ladder against teams not really representative of the tier and can significantly swing the vote in a particular direction. If the whole point of tiering is to get informed users to comment and vote on the state of the metagame and the direction it should take, including qualified users in my opinion offers no downside and can bring significant upside. It’s also implemented in older gens so translating it to newer ones shouldn’t be so hard
