[SET COMMENTS]
This set allows Hippowdon to be an effective general wall, checking common threats such as Excadrill, Aegislash, and Tyranitar. Hippowdon should look to switch into these Pokemon throughout a match in order to find as many opportunities as possible to set Stealth Rock or keep itself healthy with Slack Off. If Hippowdon is forced to check Pokemon such as Excadrill and Galarian Darmanitan whilst not at full health, it can utilize Dynamax itself to take additional attacks and deal large amounts of damage in return, notably putting Galarian Darmanitan into Stealth Rock range after a Max Quake and one turn of sand damage. When checking Excadrill, Hippowdon can also make use of Max Guard in order to stall out sand or Dynamax turns, allowing its team more opportunities to revenge kill it. Whirlwind allows Hippowdon to prevent sweepers such as Corviknight, Hawlucha, Kommo-o, and Reuniclus from boosting in front of it. Despite this, Hippowdon must be wary of these Pokemon Dynamaxing, as then they can no longer be phazed and can often break through it. Whirlwind also enables Hippowdon to rack up chip damage via entry hazards and sand.

The given EVs and nature allow Hippowdon to take a Swords Dance-boosted Max Quake from Excadrill and OHKO it in return. The heavy investment into Special Defense allows Hippowdon to comfortably survive Choice Specs-boosted Boomburst from Toxtricity whilst also allowing it to pivot into specially offensive threats such as Dragapult, Gengar, Aegislash, and Hatterene more comfortably. Despite this, Hippowdon should only be used to take hits from these Pokemon in a pinch and should not be used as the dedicated check on any team, as any prior damage allows it to be beaten.

Hippowdon fits well into defensive cores with Pokemon such as Mandibuzz, Toxapex, and Corviknight, as they all appreciate its ability to check Electric-types such as Dracozolt and Toxtricity. However, it should not be the sole Electric check on a team, as it is unable to check both Rotom-W and Rotom-H. Additionally, Hippowdon's ability Sand Stream makes it an excellent partner for Excadrill. As Hippowdown is susceptible to being exploited by strong Water-types such as Barraskweda, Dracovish, and Rotom-W, it is often best to pair it with strong Water checks such as Jellicent and Ferrothorn.

This set allows Hippowdon to be an effective general wall within the meta, checking common threats such as Excadrill, Aegislash, and Tyranitar., and Dracozolt by threatening them out with Earthquake, Dracozolt's not particularly relevant compared to the rest, and pointing out that it can threaten them with Earthquake is a bit unnecessary really. giving Hippowdon ample opportunities to set Stealth Rock or recover its health with Slack Off. Make sure to turn this into a coherent stand-alone sentence. Whirlwind allows Hippowdon to phase out threats, preventing sweepers such as Corviknight, Hawlucha, Kommo-o, and Reuniclus from boosting in front of it whilst also enabling it to rack up chip damage via entry hazards and sand. Make sure to note that you should be wary of Dynamax in general with these Pokemon. The given EVs and nature allow Hippowdon to take 2 unboosted Max Quakes from Excadrill, Taking a boosted Max Quake is more relevant so just say that instead. as well as being able to OHKO it Excadrill in return after its Dynamax has ended. The heavy investment into special defense allows Hippowdon to comfortably live Choice Specs Boomburst from Toxtricity, whilst also allowing it to act as a better pivot into threats such as Aegislash, Dragapult, and Gengar.

Hippowdon fits well into defensive cores with Pokemon such as Mandibuzz, Toxapex, and Corviknight as they all appreciate Hippowdons Electric immunity. You should mention that Hippowdon's unable to check Rotom-H and Rotom-W, though, so you don't really want to run Hippowdon as a dedicated check to the Electric typing. Either that, or specify Toxtricity and Dracozolt instead of Electric immunity. Additionally, Hippowdowns ability Sand Stream makes it an excellent partner for Excadrill. As Hippowdown is susceptible to being exploited by strong water types such as Barraskweda, Dracovish, and Rotom-Wash, it is often best to pair it with strong Water checks such as Jellicent or Ferrothorn.

Not really anything resembling usage tips around here, I'd add a part about the importance of defensively dynamanxing, especially once weakened, to surprise offensive threats like SD Excadrill and Darmanitan that think they'll be able to KO you and either do hefty damage back or OHKO them with Max Quake depending on how healthy they are. Probably some other misc usage tips stuff would be appreciated too

Nice Stuff 2/2
