RegenVest (Swampert) @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
IVs: 0 Spe
- Flip Turn
- Knock Off
- Earthquake
- Stone Edge / Mirror Coat

[SET COMMENTS]
With an excellent defensive typing, solid bulk, Flip Turn, and good utility with Knock Off, Swampert is a premier RegenVest pivot that checks notable special attackers such as Gholdengo, Zapdos, and Iron Moth while also getting in offensive teammates with its slow pivoting. Stone Edge hits Zapdos, Volcarona, and Dragonite, while Mirror Coat can be used against setup attackers like Enamorus-T and strong special attackers such as Walking Wake and Latios. Flying-types like Corviknight and Mandibuzz appreciate Swampert's Electricimmunity, letting them reliably check physical attackers and remove entry hazards. Frail offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Chien-Pao, and Barraskewda benefit from Swampert, as its slow pivoting lets them come in more safely, and they can also take advantage of its Knock Off removing items from their common checks such as Deoxys-D and Corviknight. Swampert maintains much of its special bulk through its Assault Vest, so it's vital to have Knock Off absorbers such as Corviknight and Great Tusk for Swampert to more reliably check special attackers. Grass-resistant Pokemon like Heatran and Well-Baked Body Gholdengo are also good teammates for Swampert, as special attackers such as Iron Moth and Deoxys-S frequently run Grass-type coverage predominantly for it.

With an excellent defensive typing, solid bulk, and good utility with Knock Off, Swampert is a premier RegenVest user that is able to check notable special attackers such as Gholdengo, Zapdos, and Iron Moth while also being an excellent momentum option that offers slower pivots than minimum speed Corviknight, allowing for offensive teammates to come in safely. Regenerator provides Swampert longevity, making it able to more consistently take on special attacks throughout the match and wear down the opponents. Is it needed to explicity mention the upside of Regen when there are no competing abilities? Stone Edge can be used to hit Zapdos, Volcarona, and Dragonite, while Mirror Coat can also be used against set up attackers like Enamorus-T and strong special attackers such as Walking Wake. Flying-types like Corviknight and Mandibuzz appreciate Swampert's Electric-immunity, making them be able to more reliably check physical attackers and remove entry hazards. Frail offensive pokemon like Azelf, Chien-Pao, and Barraskewda benefit from Swampert, as its slow pivoting makes them able to come in more safely and can also take advantage of Swampert's Knock Off on common checks such as Hisuian Goodra and Corviknight. Swampert maintains much of its special bulk through its Assault Vest, so it's vital to have Knock Off absorbers such as Corviknight or Great Tusk, allowing for Swampert to more reliably check special attackers. Might be worth mentioning that secondary partners that help to check Fire-types could help as many bring Grass coverage and even potentially for Psychic-types (especially Deo-S as that often brings EBall)/Walking Wake as they are extremely strong and can bust through anyway (though Wake already does this for most, so maybe not needed to mention).
