[dex=heracross]Heracross[/dex]

[Overview]

  • Situationally good typing
  • Great Atk stat
  • Good STABs
  • Great abilities
  • Workable bulk
  • Weakness to hurricane
  • Middling speed
  • Many new faster threats

[SET]
set name: Choice
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Megahorn
move 3: Stone Edge
move 4: Night Slash / Pursuit
item: Choice Scarf / Choice Band
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

  • Great revenger or powerhouse
  • CC is the standard STAB move
  • Megahorn gives good coverage with CC and is another STAB
  • Stone Edge hits Flying-types like Tornadus-T and Thudurus-T
  • Night Slash is over Pursuit to guarantee the OHKO against Chandy
  • Pursuit works better with Band so yea
  • Moxie is better with Scarf but Band can use either ability

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

  • Sweeper spread because that's Hera's thing
    Jolly to always beat Chandy
  • Pretty much no other options on this set; don't use EQ
  • Chandy can catch you locked into either STAB so watch out
  • Tornadus in either forme can outspeed and OHKO Band
  • Watch out for Flying-types as they resist both STABs
  • Magnezone makes for a good partner due to typing and his ability to stop
  • Skarm

[SET]
set name: 3 Attacks
move 1: Close Combat
move 2: Megahorn
move 3: Stone Edge / Night Slash
move 4: Substitute / Swords Dance
item: Life Orb / Leftovers
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

  • Great attack and decent bulk allow for a 3 attack set
  • Close Combat and Megahorn make for STABs
  • Stone Edge hits flying types
  • Night Slash hits Psychics and Ghosts
  • Sub stops prediction reliance
  • Guts is a good ability, but it's kinda useless with Sub

[ADDITIONAL COMMENTS]

  • Pursuit to act as a trapper
  • Adamant for more power since you're not beating Scrarf Chandy anyway
  • Less speed, more bulk
  • Magnezone makes a good partner
  • Things that can spin are good too, especially Starmie for outspeeding Thundurus-T and Tornadus-I

[Other Options]

  • Bulk Up set with 3 attacks
  • Bulky spread of 188 HP / 252 Atk / 68 Jolly
  • RestTalk
  • Really not much else

[Checks and Counters]

  • Tornadus
  • Tornadus-T
  • Thundurus
  • Thundurus-T
  • Other Flying-types
  • Faster attackers with SE attacks
  • Genesect
  • Alakazam
  • Scarf Chandy against non-scarfed
  • Jellicent
  • Gliscor
  • Skarmory
  • Forre
