A specially defensive set trades in the Choice Band set's wallbreaking prowess for a solid check to threats such as Indeedee-F and Rotom-C. Knock Off allows Guzzlord to make great progress in games, even debilitating switch-ins such as Sylveon and Diancie that it can't phaze. Dragon Tail prevents it from being used as setup fodder from the likes of Toxicroak and Snorlax, even after Rest thanks to Sleep Talk. Due to Guzzlord's susceptibility to Fairy-types like Sylveon, answers such as Copperajah, Salazzle, and Talonflame make for potent partners, taking advantage of Guzzlord luring them in. Sylveon's also a solid partner itself, providing Wish to sustain Guzzlord and make it less reliant on RestTalk, while also checking Fighting-types like Passimian and Gallade that force Guzzlord out.
