Gen 9 Realgam Tower Data Thread
Realgam Tower
Realgam Tower is a role-playing challenge that tests the challenger’s team-making skills as well as their battle prowess. It is suitable for players of all skill levels and can be used both to progress Pokemon of all levels and to capture unpurchasable Pokemon.
Player Details
There aren’t any major rules for the player. Just don’t pass DQ and don’t insult the ref.
Battle Details
The rewards for each simulation and the conditions on which the rewards are achieved are listed with the simulation data. Common rewards are EXP, access to the Advanced Technique Z-Moves, Event Vouchers, Academy Credit, and Pokemon that cannot be purchased. Unless otherwise specified, EXP and Z-Move access are rewarded to all participating Pokemon, not split among them. Common conditions for receiving the rewards are KOing particular Pokemon, KOing a specific number of Pokemon, and winning the battle. Awards are cumulative, so you will receive all awards you meet the conditions for.
Referee Expectations
Realgam Tower refs are expected to, in every match, play to end the challenge. All moves are fair game - from Perish Song to hax spam. Refs are expected to spend time on their calcs, abuse orders that opponents make, and be as ruthless as possible.
If there is a dispute over who gets to ref a challenge, refs with more ongoing Realgam Tower challenges should cede reffing opportunities to refs with fewer.
Refs must include in their reffings an indicator of which mons are KOd.

Battle Details
- The ref always sends out first.
- At the start of the battle, the ref may choose Hidden Power Types for each of their Pokemon that knows the move. If the ref does not give their Pokemon a Hidden Power Type at the start of the battle, it defaults to Normal-Type.
- If one of the ref's Pokemon is capable of Mega Evolving, it will Mega Evolve at the first opportunity to unless specified otherwise.
- If an effect would inflict Fainting on the ref's Pokemon, it inflicts 30 damage instead. Any effects that would block the infliction of Fainting will still block the infliction of this 30 damage.
- The ref is allowed to use Medicines from their Backpack on their Pokemon. Medicines can be subbed against in the same way moves can.
- While the challenger is limited by the Technique Control given in the battle rules, the ref is not.
- All ties are treated as a loss for the challenger.
- The challenge consists of one battle against an opponent whose team will be randomly selected from a small number of options.
- Typically, this takes the form of several numbered Slots, each with several Pokemon listed for that Slot. At the start of the challenge, the ref uniformly randomly selects one Pokemon from each Slot.
- Some items in the ref's Backpack may be listed by Slot as well. For instance, if a line in the Backpack says "Slot 1: Miracle Seed/Charcoal/Mystic Water", then the Backpack will contain a Miracle Seed if the first Pokemon for Slot 1 is rolled, a Charcoal if the second is, and a Mystic Water if the third is.
- All simulations have an associated maximum level. Challenger Pokemon above the maximum level for a simulation will be de-leveled to that level. Ref Pokemon are assumed to be at that level unless specified otherwise.
- A trainer who challenges Realgam Tower will choose a simulation to challenge and submit an appropriate number of Pokemon they own, keeping in mind the maximum level of the simulation. A trainer may not enter this challenge twice simultaneously. Challenging Realgam Tower may be done concurrently with any and all other BBP activities.
- Pokemon that cost a Technique Control may be brought to simulations with a Technique Control count of 0, but must be de-leveled to one level below the maximum level for that challenge.
- Inactivity for 2 days will result in a DQ Warning. If you would receive a third DQ Warning during the same challenge, you will instead be DQed. This counts as a loss and your challenge will end immediately, with you receiving nothing. Ref DQ will result in a subref taking over.
- A player will post in the thread choosing which simulation to fight and providing a team.
- A ref will take your challenge if procedures are followed correctly.
- Claim your rewards in the Prize Claiming Thread as if it were a battle. If your Pokemon are eligible to gain EXP or unlock advanced mechanics, or if you have been rewarded with a new Pokemon, it should be claimed in the same post you claim your counters in.
- You may re-challenge Realgam Tower as soon as you like.
