Gastly's resistance and immunity laden typing, great ability in Levitate, and high Special Attack stat allow it to function as a great Eviolite attacker. Hex, when combined with status, is a powerful attack that hits many Pokemon such as Toedscool and Quaxly. Shadow Ball is an alternative STAB attack not reliant on status. Will-O-Wisp is used to neutralize switch-ins, such as Pawniard and Mudbray, and is able to power-up Hex. Thunderbolt hits Water-types such as Quaxly and Mareanie hard, whilst also being a middle-ground attack for switch-ins such as Pawniard. Tera Electric allows Gastly have no weaknesses due to Levitate as well as powering up Thunderbolt. Icy Wind is an option to hit Toedscool super-effectively that also slows down opposing Pokemon. Due to Gastly's Ghost-typing making it immune to Rapid Spin, Glimmet, Pawniard and Spikes Toedscool makes an excellent partner with this set to keep up hazards. Crabrawler, Mankey, and Nymble are great partners as they all threaten Dark-types, that otherwise threaten Gastly. Gastly also provides a Fighting and Ground-type immunity, allowing it to be an excellent partner to Pawniard, which can resist Psychic, Dark, and Ghost-type attacks that threaten Gastly.

Life Orb Gastly is one of the tier's most powerful wallbreakers due to its great speed tier and absurdly high base 100 Special Attack. Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb are obligatory STAB attacks that hit much of the tier for neutral damage, such as. Psychic hits Poison and Fighting-types, such as Mareanie ans Crabrawler. Tera Blast, in conjunction with Tera Fighting, allows Gastly to break through Pawniard and Magnemite. Substitute allows Gastly to ease the prediction and can capitalize on forced switches, as well as avoiding Pawniard's Sucker Punch. Life Orb Gastly enjoys pivots to bring it in to wallbreak, such as Choice Scarf users Mankey and Magnemite. Defensive Pokemon to take hits for it, such as Toedscool, Pawniard, and Tinkatink.

Choice Scarf Gastly is a powerful cleaner and revenge killer due to its incredible Special Attack and Speed. Shadow Ball and Sludge Bomb are obligatory STAB attacks that hit much of the tier for neutral damage. Thunderbolt allows Gastly to hit Quaxly and Mareanie for super-effective damage. Tera Blast, when combined with Tera Fighting, can defeat Pawniard and Magnemite. Destiny Bond is an option over Tera Blast to remove any single Pokemon at the cost of coverage while sacrificing Gastly. Pokemon that can break down its checks such as Crabrawler, Mankey and Diglett that threaten Steel-types make good partners. Hazards from Glimmet, Pawniard and Tinkatink make it even harder to switch into Gastly.

Gastly's useful resistance and immunity laden (more specific) typing, great ability in Levitate, and high Special Attack stat allow it to function as a great Eviolite attacker. Hex, when combined with status, is a powerful attack that hits many Pokemon quite hard (give some examples of what Pokemon ). Shadow Ball is an alternative STAB attack not reliant on status if a more spammable attack is preferred. Will-O-Wisp is used to neutralize switch-ins, such as Pawniard (add in some more examples here), and is able to power-up Hex. Dark Pulse, when combined with Tera Dark, allows Gastly to win versus other Gastly the Gastly mirror match-up. It also removes its weakness to Dark- and Psychic-Type attacks (make sure to mention which matchups this improves). Icy Wind is an option to hit Toedscool super-effectively that also slows down opposing Pokemon (not a guarantee it'll be useful for gastly vs whatever its facing, but can definitely help other mons in the back). Thunderbolt is an option to hit Pokemon such as Mareanie and Quaxly. (Im not a fan of the thunderbolt sentence because Mareanie and Quaxly don't wall Gastly, but it still is a good idea to hit the two of them. Somebody else will need to let me know on this one.) Due to Gastly's Ghost typing making it immune to Rapid Spin, Glimmet (add other hazard setters here) makes an excellent partners to keep entry hazards up with this set, as they can both pressure Pawniard, and Gastly can block Rapid Spin from Quaxly. Crabrawler, Mankey, and Nymble are is another great partners, as all threaten it can handle Dark-types, that otherwise threaten Gastly. and can help breakdown each others checks. (I think you can also add in a sentence about what benefits Gastly defensively)

I figure its easier to look at each set as a specific post instead of one giant one when it comes to checking

Life Orb Gastly enjoys pivots to bring it in safely to wallbreak, such as Choice Scarf users Mankey and Choice Scarf Magnemite.(add period), as well as d Defensive Pokemon that to take attacks that threaten Gastly hits for it, such as Toedscool,(add comma) Pawniard, and Tinkatink are fantastic partners as well Quaxly. (Quaxly isn't a bad partner, but Pawniard and Tinkatink both take Psychic and Dark type attacks better. Toed is fine cause its got a fantastic Special Defense stat.)

Destiny Bond is an option to remove any single Pokemon at the cost of coverage over Tera Blast as an emergency check to attackers or to take out a key opposing Pokemon (My version has multiple slashes, but the big reason is the lack of coverage) while whilst sacrificing Gastly. It also removes its weakness to Dark and Psychic-Type attacks. (I'm guessing you pulled these sets from the sample sets on-site; Dark Pulse is leftover from giraffe and isn't relevant anymore) elaborate more on Thunderbolt here; it hits Quaxly hard and provides important neutral coverage against common switch-ins like Pawn while getting boosted by Tera Electric, which makes Gastly have no weaknesses. Icy Wind is an option to hit Toedscool super-effectively. Thunderbolt is an option to hit Pokemon such as Mareanie and Quaxly. (See previous note) Tera Blast Fighting OHKOs pawn Glimmet makes an excellent partner with this set, as they can both pressure Pawniard, and Gastly can block Rapid Spin from Quaxly. Crabrawler is another great partner as it can handle Dark-types, and can help breakdown each others checks. (For the entire section on teammates, please implement the suggestions in Shoddy's check.)

Gastly's resistance and immunity-laden typing, great ability in Levitate, and high Special Attack stat allow it to function as a great Eviolite attacker and spinblocker. (This is one of the most important things the mon does, so it should be at the top.) Hex, when combined with status, is a powerful attack that hits many allows Gastly to beat bulky Pokemon such as Toedscool and Quaxly. Shadow Ball is an alternative STAB attack not less reliant on status which reliably OHKOs opposing Gastly. Will-O-Wisp is used to neutralize switch-ins, such as Pawniard and Mudbray, and is able to power-up Hex. Thunderbolt hits Water-types such as Quaxly and Mareanie hard, whilst while also being a middle-ground attack for switch-ins such as Pawniard. Tera Electric allows Gastly have no weaknesses due to Levitate as well as powering up Thunderbolt. Icy Wind is an option to hit Toedscool super-effectively that also slows down opposing Pokemon. (I really disagree with these inclusions, but I recognize that another QCer suggested them. I'll consult Gali and the others, though this mon seems like to be banned soon anyway so it may not matter.) Due to Gastly's Ghost-typing making it immune to Rapid Spin, Glimmet, Pawniard and Spikes Toedscool makes an make for excellent partners with this set to keep up hazards. Crabrawler, Mankey, and Nymble are great partners as they all threaten Dark-types, (RC) that otherwise threaten Gastly. Gastly also provides a Fighting and Ground-type immunity, allowing it to be an excellent partner to Pawniard, which can resist Psychic, Dark, and Ghost-type attacks that threaten Gastly.
