God this Pokémon feels like Gamefreak realized defensive Rock types are bad and tried to change it, but it worked a bit too well. Same happened with Ice types. All the Ice types are weirdly viable this gen. In fact, one of them (soon to be two) are in Ubers.

Okay show of hands. Who else in spoiler season saw a defensive rock type who's signature move was 40 damage Wrap that didn't trap and wrote this off as garbage.

I was wrong. This salt brick is so fucking good. Friendship with Tyranitar is over, Minecraft salt mob is my new best friend.

This thing has a surprising amount of role compression. The ability is a huge buff to any mon, especially a bulky defensive mon like Garganacl.
