Garchomp @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Rough Skin
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpA / 252 Spe
Naughty Nature
- Outrage
- Earthquake
- Fire Blast
- Dual Chop / Stone Edge

Garchomp is one of the premier Pokemon in BDSP OU, throwing out powerful Earthquakes and Outrages, which together are almost unresisted barring the uncommon Togekiss and the niche Skarmory, to clean weakened teams. Choice Scarf alleviates one of Garchomp's main issues in its Speed, as now it is unable to be revenge killed by faster offensive threats such as Latios and Starmie. Fire Blast lets Garchomp nail Skarmory on the switch and instantly remove Scizor, dissuading them from pivoting into it Dual Chop lets Garchomp break through Alakazam's Focus Sash and chunk Dragonite by breaking Multiscale while giving Garchomp a Dragon-type STAB move that opponents can't take advantage of as easily. Stone Edge lets it thrash Togekiss on the switch, which can be useful, as it is completely immune to both of Garchomp's STAB moves. Choice Scarf Garchomp is unfortunately easily walled, as many teams can dance around its STAB moves, and, oftentimes, it is unable to easily sweep on its own, making fellow Dragon-types Latios, Dragonite, and Salamence exceptional teammates, as they easily overwhelm their shared checks.

Garchomp remains as one of the premier Pokemon in BDSP OU, throwing out powerful Earthquakes and Outrages which are near unresisted barring the uncommon Togekiss and the niche Skarmory to clean weakened teams, and alongside a Choice Scarf, it alleviates one of its main issues: its Speed; as now it is unable to be revenge killed by the myriad of faster offensive threats such as Latios and Starmie. Fire Blast lets Garchomp nail Skarmory on the switch in, as well as instantly remove Scizor, dissuading them from pivoting into its STAB-moves. Dual Chop lets Garchomp break through Alakazam's Focus Sash, chunk Dragonite as it breaks its Multiscale, and gives Garchomp a Dragon-type STAB that opponents can't take advantage of. making Garchomp harder to take advantage of as it wont be locked into a move. (i just reworded it for more clarity) Stone Edge lets it thrash Togekiss on the switch, which can be useful as it is completely immune to both of Garchomp's STAB-moves. Choice Scarf Garchomp unfortunately is easily walled with good play (i know what you're trying to say but reword it, its not immediate to understand what "good play" means), and oftentimes is unable to easily sweep on its own, making fellow Dragon-types Latios, Dragonite, and Salamence exceptional teammates as they easily overwhelm their shared checks.
