Name of Pokemon: Chatot
Take: 3
Type: Dark / Flying
Abilities: Punk Rock/Technician
Stats:99/69/80/99/80/99 (526 BST)
Movepool Additions: Snarl, Overdrive
Movepool Removals: Night Shade, Boomburst
Description: An interesting idea for a mon, punk chatot over here is more akin to a traditional RPG Bard than anything else. While yes it is a special sweeper relying on Punk Rock to give it a boost to its STABs and coverage, it does still have access to nasty plot to beef its special attack stat even more. However it can also apply debuffs as well through snarl and chatter which would make it a lot better in doubles tbh.

new slate should be out soonish

i have returned, 1 month later

sorry for unwarranted tags
Finally at 1000 posts :psyglad:

It has been over 7 (wtf) years since I first joined smogon, where I started my account with a horrible Gen 6 AG RMT, featuring esteemed top tier mons like Bibarel and Primeape (Bibarel i understand was bad, Primeape legit carried me through low-mid ladder at the time thanks to being a fighting type with sleep immunity during a time where Smeargle and Darkrai sleepspam ran rampant). After that, I mostly lurked in the OM forum.

At the end of generation 6, I decided to look at a subform called "Pet Mods", and before I knew it, I made my first submission to FEOU (for reference, it was Serperior + Darmanitan, and its ability was 1.5x Sheer Force but it only affected Grass moves. Obviously, it didn't win). After that, I spent my time in Generation 7 submitting and voting in various Pet Mods, mainly FE, Clean Slate, Eternal Pokemon & Smash Mods.

It wouldn't be until Generation 8 until i led my first mod, the incredibly inactive (but still managed to be finished!) Z-Revival, and later created a solomod (Random Pool 0). The 0 implies this would be a prototype for a future solomod, but that never came (yet?). Finally, we have this mod, which was an underrated favorite of mine from Gen 7. I really need to get down the consistency of making slates in a timely fashion:psygrump:

I recently participated in the first ever PMPL, where the WORKERS UNION OF GENSOKOYO and myself became the INAUGURAL CHAMPIONS. Even though I went 0-1 playing a meta I had literally never played before my game (Alternatium), I still had a great time with the team.

Favorite Mods (not in order)
  1. Fusion Evolutions (a simple concept, and what got me into pet mods in the first place)
  2. Clean Slates (very fun to sub and play, even though I have fallen behind on CSM2 subs)
  3. Eternal Pokemon (was very pleased to see this return in Gen 8, it is a great mod)
  4. Smash Mods (i like to keep the mod counts for smash mods up to date, and i really like seeing pokemon from all different mods come together)
  5. Micrometa Mafia (i love mafia/sus games and seeing that combined with a pet mod was really cool. even if it did get a bit toxic, and most of my time was either faking or actually being bm'd as mafia, i still managed to have a massive impact on the game. I am really excited for the generation 9 edition of mmm.)

hopefully i can become more involved as we transition to gen 9. I already have some ideas planned out :psysly:

Slate 3: 1000

Take 1: Restless Utility (custom ability allowed)
  • Type: No Restriction!
  • Ability: Must have at least 1 ability that makes it immune to/benefits from being put to Sleep. This can be a custom ability.
  • Stats: HP, Defense, and Special Defense must all be under 100.
  • Movepool: Must learn a pivoting move, one of [Stealth Rock/Spikes/Defog/Rapid Spin] and have reliable recovery. You can add 2 additional moves in addition to any additions needed to fulfill the first requirement
Take 2: Tempo Shift (custom move allowed)
  • Type: If it is dual typed, it must change its primary type.
  • Ability: Cannot have any abilities that increase the damage it deals with attacks.
  • Stats: HP must be higher than Defense & Special Defense (individually), and Speed must be higher than Attack & Special Attack (individually).
  • Movepool: Can learn up to 5 new moves. If the user's type has changed, can learn 1 custom move of the new type added.
Take 3: Criminal Activity (extra rule! you only have to either one of the Ability or Movepool rules, you can still do both if you want to)
  • Type: At least 1 type must match the type of the move you chose for the move rule. You only have to match the type for 1 of the moves in the move rule, if you decide to have multiple.
  • Ability: Must have at least one of the following abilities- Comatose, Contrary, Fluffy, Fur Coat, Gorilla Tactics, Huge Power, Ice Scales, Illusion, Innards Out, Intrepid Sword, Libero, Magnet Pull, Neutralizing Gas, Parental Bond, Poison Heal, Protean, Pure Power, Simple, Stakeout, Speed Boost, Water Bubble.
  • Stats: No restriction, just be careful with the stats due to the other rules.
  • Movepool: Must learn at least one of the following moves & utilize it- Acupressure, Astral Barrage, Belly Drum, Bolt Beak, Clangorous Soul, Double Iron Bash, Electrify, Extreme Speed, Final Gambit, Fishious Rend, Geomancy, Glacial Lance, Oblivion Wing, Precipice Blades, Shell Smash, Shift Gear, Thousand Arrows, Thunderous Kick, V-Create, Wicked Blow.

slate ends whenever enough subs get posted, or in a week, whatever comes first.
good luck!
hopefully making subs at midnight was a good idea
