Fresh Takes V2! (Submission Phase)

Fresh Takes V2
Ever feel amazed that a pokemon had a certain move or ability but really upset that it couldn't make use of it? For instance, Tail Glow, a very powerful move, has no use on such a weak pokemon such as Volbeat, Doublade gets literally no good moves to take advantage of No Guard with, and Liepard is much too frail to use Prankster successfully. Well no more! We are going to transform various pokes who got the short end of the competitive stick new life and (hopefully) live up to their original expectations to make a splash in OU (or Ubers for some pokes).

How Submissions Work
Every week, I will post a sample submission slate with three random pokes and three random "takes", and your job will be to associate a take to a pokemon and change it up accordingly. You do not need to reserve one take per Pokémon, and you can use any take as much as you want, whether it be for one, two, all three, or even no Pokémon. However, only one sub is allowed per Pokémon. As for custom moves and abilities, they are only allowed if they are a clone of an existing move or ability, for instance Lightning Rod for Ice-type moves, or a Steel-type Close Combat. And when you want to give a pokemon a new move or ability, do not go ridiculously against flavor, such as Flash Fire Kartana or Spectral Thief Charizard. Also, do not give legendary signature moves and abilities to normal pokes unless you have an extremely convincing reason to do so. Also, unless I say otherwise, the maximum limit for BST on any submission is 570. However, if one of the pokemon on the slate has a Mega Evolution, their BST and HP stats must remain exactly the same as the original version NO MATTER WHAT! For instance, any Venusaur subs must remain at 525 BST with 80 HP, any Charizard subs at 534 BST with 78 HP, etc.

How Voting Works
Voting is basically done the same as other Pet Mods. All voters vote for their three preferred submissions, and first vote will be worth 3 points, second vote 2 points, third vote 1 point. Note that voting is based on Pokémon, not takes. Self-votes are allowed, just not in the first slot. Even if you didn't sub, you can still vote for your favorite Pokémon.

"Take" is the number of the Take you choose for the Pokemon. Competitive Niche and Sample Sets are optional.

Submission Slate #1: Specially Defensive...For Now!
These three pokemon all have the highest Special Defense in their respective tiers that haven't been submitted yet. However, they all suffer from crippling flaws that prevent them from being viable in higher tiers. Cryogonal has the worst defensive typing ever and a horrendous Defense stat that undermines its excellent Sp. Def, Diancie is too slow and has its excellent defenses undermined by a horrendous HP stat, and Blissey is just outclassed by Chansey. But not anymore! Now you get to transform these failed special walls and push them up into OU territory!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Take #1: What horrendous typing?
Type Restriction: Cannot change type at ALL
Ability Restriction: 3.5
Stat Restriction: Stats cannot go above 135 or below 60
Move Limit: 2 new moves

Take #2: Rolling around at a speed like sound but way less!
Type Restriction: The pokemon must keep its primary type
Ability Restriction: 3
Stat Restriction: Speed must be at least 110, the average of the poke's attacking stats must be within 10 points of the Speed Limit (between 100-120)
Move Limit: 2 new moves of its new type it currently doesn't have
IMPORTANT: All Diancie subs must be 600 BST due to Mega Diancie (sorry i didn't say this earlier)

Take #3: Offensive Wall?
Type Restriction: The pokemon has to change its typing completely, and the new type cannot be any one of its old ones
Ability Restriction: 3.5
Stat Restriction: One attacking stat must be at least 110, defensive stats have to be within 30 points of each other (ex. if I make Def 90, I have to make the Sp. Def between 60-120), one defensive stat must be at least 125

Move Limit: 4 new moves, two have to have the same type associated with the new typing
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Remember, just because you are required to use a take, doesn't mean you can't have fun with you subs, in fact, I encourage creativity! Just make sure your subs follow the take's restrictions. Also, you can reserve a take for however many pokes you want. For instance, I could have take 1 on Cryogonal and Blissey. Good luck!

Pokemon: Cryogonal
Take: 3
Type: Water/Steel
Ability: Levitate / Analytic
Stats: 70/50/95/115/125/115 = 570 BST
New Moves: Hydro Pump, Surf, Autotomize, Metal Burst
Competitive Niche: Remember when Starmie was OU? An offensive spinner that hard punished switches with Analytic? Yeah, that's what this Cryogonal is. Water/Steel is a great defensive typing that allows Cryogonal to pivot in and out often in order to spin/Defog whilst having Hydro Pump and Flash Cannon to smack around the likes of Heatran, Tapu Lele, Clefable, (Mega) Diancie, and Landorus.
Sample Sets:
Cryogonal @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Flash Cannon
- Defog / Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam / Recover

Pokemon: Blissey
Take: 1
Type: Normal
Ability: Natural Cure / Scrappy / Thick Fat
Stats: 120/70/120/70/120/70 = 570 BST
New Moves: Knock Off, Encore
Competitive Niche: Y'all wanted Normal-type Cresselia, right? Blissey serves as a quite essential mixed wall with too many support options to count, but its lack of resistances and having to pick one defense to specialize in leaves it breakable.
Sample Sets:
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure / Scrappy
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Seismic Toss
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
- Thunder Wave / Heal Bell

Pokemon: Diancie
Take: 1
Type: Rock/Fairy
Ability: Levitate
Stats: 80/100/120/100/120/80 (600 BST, because Diancie-Mega is 700 BST and Megas always have to increase 100 BST)
New Moves: Diamond Storm (now Special), Moonlight
Competitive Niche: Levitate allows Diancie to counter Charizard-Mega-X, Garchomp, most Heatrans, and Landorus-Therian lacking Smack Down or Gravity. However, it is pretty easy to wear down due to its 8PP Moonlight and weakness to the common Water and Steel types.
Sample Set:
Diancie @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast / Heal Bell
- Earth Power / Diamond Storm / Heal Bell
- Stealth Rock
- Moonlight

Pokemon: Cryogonal
Take: 2
Type: Ice/Water
Ability: Icy Aura (Ice-type clone of Fairy Aura)
Stats: 80/85/50/125/115/115 (570 BST)
New Moves: Hydro Pump, Surf
Competitive Niche: Cryogonal is a fast revenge killer thanks to 115 Speed and Icy Aura-boosted Ice Beams coming off of a hefty 125 SpA. However, this is offset by a lack of coverage, physical bulk, or boosting moves.
Sample Set:
Cryogonal @ Choice Scarf / Choice Specs
Ability: Icy Aura
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Hydro Pump
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Rapid Spin / Defog / Knock Off

Pokemon: Blissey
Take: 3
Type: Fairy
Ability: Natural Cure / Shed Skin / Healer
Stats: 120/35/95/110/125/85 (570 BST)
New Moves: Moonblast, Draining Kiss (useless but flavorful), Earth Power
Competitive Niche: Bulky special wall that competes with Clefable due to the latter's better abilities, as well as Chansey due to the latter's much higher special bulk.
Sample Sets:
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
- Toxic / Earth Power

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Soft-Boiled
- Calm Mind

Hey c'mon, let's try to get more subs here folks, I don't want this mod to end up the same way as the original this quick.

Oh, and FYI, if you're interested on being on the council for this mod, VM or PM me and I'll decide whether or not you're good enough.

Pokemon: Diancie
Take: 2
Type: Rock/Fairy
Ability: Clear Body
Stats: 50/120/100/120/100/110 (600)
New Moves: Play Rough
Competitive Niche: its like mega diancie but not mega and no magic bounce
Sample Sets:

Pokemon: Cryogonal
Take: 2
Type: Ice / Electric
Ability: Levitate / Dazzling
Stats: 70 / 95 / 70 / 120 / 100 / 115 (570 BST)
New Moves: Thunderbolt, Volt Switch
Competitive Niche: Ice / Electric is one of the best offensive typings in competitive due to STAB BoltBeam, which lets Cryo hit many potent defensive threats in OU such as Toxapex, Celesteela, Lando-T, and Zapdos hard. Levitate allows it to avoid one weakness to Ground, which runs rampant in OU, however Dazzling is an option to avoid priority due to its seemingly low defense. Despite what may seem, though, Cryogonal has a weakness to many common offensive types in OU, like Fire, Fighting, and Rock (and Ground if it runs Dazzling). It also has no way of breaking past Chansey, as well as other dedicated special walls like AV Magearna. Lastly, a weakness to SR, a speed stat that leaves it outsped by various offensive threats, and generally low physical bulk means it'll be worn down easily.
Sample Set:
Cryogonal @ Choice Specs / Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Ice Beam
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Volt Switch / Defog / Rapid Spin

Pokemon: Diancie
Take: 3
Type: Ground / Psychic
Ability: Clear Body / Magic Guard
Stats: 110 / 90 / 90 / 120 / 130 / 60 (600 BST)
New Moves: Shore Up, Future Sight, Focus Blast, U-turn
Competitive Niche: Diancie may have lost its Fairy STAB, but it gains great new tools for its role as a wall. For instance, it now has access to recovery in Shore Up, something it desperately needed before. Future Sight gives it a role as a stallbreaker by forcing switches and nailing Dark-types that come in with Focus Blast. U-turn also gives it a role as a pivot, whether offensive or defensive. Its typing may be poor for a wall, but here are some pokes it can take down with its new type it couldn't before: Heatran, Toxapex, Excadrill, Jirachi, and Mega Venusaur. Lastly, Magic Guard now allows it to avoid crippling status like Toxic and pivot on SR and Spikes freely
Sample Sets:
Diancie @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earth Power
- Psyshock
- U-turn / Toxic / anything

Diancie @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 Spe
Modest Nature
- Earth Power
- Future Sight / Psyshock
- Focus Blast
- U-turn

Pokemon: Blissey
Take: 1
Type: Normal
Ability: Natural Cure / Unaware
Stats: 120 / 80 / 110 / 80 / 110 / 70 (570 BST)
New Moves: Taunt, U-turn
Competitive Niche: To combat the influx of setup sweepers in this meta, I have made an Unaware wall that can put a stop to them. Thanks to its amazing, Cresselia-level bulk, Blissey takes nothing from any hit that isn't super effective or insanely strong. Taunt gives it the ability to stallbreak by preventing them from recovering their health and inflicting status on it, while U-turn was added to give it a role as a defensive pivot and allows Blissey to not be complete dead weight once Taunted. However, it can easily be overpowered by foes like Mega Zard X, KyuB, Specs Lele, Mega Medi, and Mega Gyara (which ignores Unaware as a bonus). If not running U-turn, it is also complete Taunt bait due to having no worthy offensive presence, and it faces competition as an Unaware wall from Clef, Quag, and Pyukumuku, but Taunt and the ability to pivot, as well as its greater overall bulk, gives it an edge over them, and also gives it a reason to be used over Chansey.
Sample Set:
Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Unaware
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD OR 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Bold OR Calm Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Seismic Toss
- Toxic
- Taunt / U-turn / Heal Bell

Oh, and Anaconja, Serene Grace is a 4 ability, so you're going to have to change that into another one or remove it.

Pokemon: Cryogonal
Take: 3
Type: Steel / Water
Ability: Levitate / Steam Compressor (Soul-Heart Clone)
Stats: 80 / 30 / 95 / 125 / 125 / 115 (570 BST)
New Moves: Surf, Hydro Pump, Mirror Shot
Competitive Niche: Tanky AND fast AND versatile (Ok, maybe not that)? Yes, please! Cryogonal's fantastic defensive typing, defensive stats, and great offensive stats allows it to easily nab KOes common OU staples such as Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Heatran, while being able to take hits from Zapdos and Mega Alakazam. With its new signature ability, Steam Compressor, allowing it to easily snowball out of control thanks to increasing its special attack by one stage every time it nabs a KO. Both of its abilities are quite good, with Levitate allowing it to get rid of a common weakness in Ground, while Steam Compressor can be used for more offensively-based variants if they need to pick up a special attack boost from KOing a foe. While this may make it seem top-tier, Cryogonal's defensive typing also curses it with weaknesses to common coverage moves, such as Mega Alakazam's Focus Blast or Choice Scarf Tapu Lele's Thunderbolt, although none of them can actually break through Cryogonal's high special defense. If running Levitate, it will struggle a lot versus dedicated special walls, that be Chansey, or AV Magearna. Combine this with its only average physical defense stat and a speed tier which leaves it outsped versus Mega Lopunny or many common Choice Scarf users means that Cryogonal will be worn down quicker than you'd think, even with Recover.
Sample Sets:
Cryogonal @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Steam Compressor
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Flash Cannon
- Ice Beam
- Recover / Defog
Equipped with a Choice Scarf, Cryogonal is able to outspeed nearly the entire OU metagame, only being outsped by Choice Scarf Greninja, which can't dent Cryogonal due to its fantastic defensive typing and good bulk. As Choice Scarf Cryogonal's attacking power is somewhat low, it must run Steam Compressor to make breaking more offensively-based teams easier. Hydro Pump and Flash Cannon provide reliable STAB for Cryogonal, with the former allowing it to check Heatran and Lando-T, while the latter allows it to check all of the Tapu Guardians and Mega Alakazam. Ice Beam provides coverage against pokemon such as the Mega Lati twins, Zapdos, and Garchomp, while providing decent neutral coverage. Recover provides

Cryogonal @ Choice Specs
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 4 Def / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Hydro Pump
- Flash Cannon
- Ice Beam
- Hidden Power Fire / Defog
This set works better versus slower-paced teams due to Cryogonal's slightly exploitable 115 speed tier. With Choice Specs equipped, it does not need Steam Compressor, so it can opt to run Levitate to avoid taking damage from Landorus-Therian or Heatran. Hydro Pump is a absurdly strong STAB move that hits steel-resistant pokemon such as Heatran or steel-neutral pokemon such as Landorus-T. It also provides decent neutral coverage and is able to OHKO or 2HKO everything bar Toxapex. Flash Cannon allows it to hit each of the Tapus and Mega Alakazam decently hard, achieving OHKOes on both with ease. Ice Beam gives it coverage against Mega Latias, Zapdos, and Garchomp, achieveing 2HKOes on the former two, while the latter risks getting OHKOed. Hidden Power Fire gives it coverage against pokemon which would otherwise wall it, such as Magearna, Mega Mawile, and even Magnezone. Defog can also be used in the last slot if steel-types aren't causing you problems to remove hazards, although Cryogonal doesn't want to be locked in on Defog.

Pokemon: Blissey
Take: 1
Type: Normal
Ability: Natural Cure / Filter / Cloud Nine (HA)
Stats: 135 / 60 / 85 / 90 / 135 / 65 (570 BST)
New Moves: Encore, Knock Off
Competitive Niche: Looking for a bulky special wall which also functions well on both sides? Blissey has you covered! Its much-improved physical defense stat allows it to sponge up hits from Mega Swampert under rain and Landorus-T, which is something even Chansey wishes it could do. Natural Cure allows it to pretty much be un-chip-able unless you're running Heatran with Magma Storm and Toxic, while Filter makes it even more indestructible due to reducing how much damage fighting-types such as Mega Heracross and Mega Lopunny deal to it, at the cost of making it a bit easier to chip down. Despite this, it must choose which defense to invest in, though it will usually always go for a physically defensive variant, leaving it in a bit of a similar situation to other special walls which have a great defenses on both sides, yet invest in their lower defensive stats, such as Clefable and Chansey, while its typing is somewhat useless defensively due to its lack of resistances, meaning that it can't actually make use of Filter.
Sample Sets:
Blissey @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure / Filter
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Stealth Rock
- Toxic
- Seismic Toss

Pokemon: Diancie
Take: 1
Type: Rock / Fairy
Ability: Carbonizing Pressure (Soul-Heart clone)
Stats: 70 / 75 / 125 / 100 / 125 / 105 (600 BST)
New Moves: Diamond Storm (Special attack), Recover

Okay, and with that submission phase is over! Now cast your votes for your top three choices of each pokemon, such as mine:
Cryogonal: Yoshiblaze, Demon Dragon, SteelixPrismGX
Diancie: Anaconja, Demon Dragon, Pika Xreme
Blissey: Anaconja, Demon Dragon, Yoshiblaze

SteelixPrismGX also your Diancie sub needs 30 more BST, due to Mega Diancie, wherever you put it is up to you
I didn't think that Diancie would get a special rule to have 600 BST. Please be more clear about when we do legendaries for each Fresh Takes slate that a legendary pokemon that has a Mega Evolution will need to have 600 BST due to them having a Mega.

Anyways, time to do me some voting!

Cryogonal: Anaconja, SteelixPrismGX, Demon Dragon
Diancie: Demon Dragon, Anaconja, Pika Xtreme
Blissey: Anaconja, Demon Dragon, Yoshiblaze

Keep up with the voting!

EDIT: Hey, Demon Dragon, do you mind changing my rep on the council member list from Darkrai to Mega Blaziken? That's all I ask of you for now.

Okay, voting is now officially over!
The winners:
Cryogonal: Yoshiblaze

Pokemon: Cryogonal
Take: 3
Type: Water/Steel
Ability: Levitate / Analytic
Stats: 70/50/95/115/125/115 = 570 BST
New Moves: Hydro Pump, Surf, Autotomize, Metal Burst
Competitive Niche: Remember when Starmie was OU? An offensive spinner that hard punished switches with Analytic? Yeah, that's what this Cryogonal is. Water/Steel is a great defensive typing that allows Cryogonal to pivot in and out often in order to spin/Defog whilst having Hydro Pump and Flash Cannon to smack around the likes of Heatran, Tapu Lele, Clefable, (Mega) Diancie, and Landorus.
Sample Sets:
Cryogonal @ Life Orb
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Flash Cannon
- Defog / Rapid Spin
- Ice Beam / Recover
Diancie: Anaconja

Pokemon: Diancie
Take: 1
Type: Rock/Fairy
Ability: Levitate
Stats: 80/100/120/100/120/80 (600 BST, because Diancie-Mega is 700 BST and Megas always have to increase 100 BST)
New Moves: Diamond Storm (now Special), Moonlight
Competitive Niche: Levitate allows Diancie to counter Charizard-Mega-X, Garchomp, most Heatrans, and Landorus-Therian lacking Smack Down or Gravity. However, it is pretty easy to wear down due to its 8PP Moonlight and weakness to the common Water and Steel types.
Sample Set:
Diancie @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast / Heal Bell
- Earth Power / Diamond Storm / Heal Bell
- Stealth Rock
- Moonlight
Blissey: Anaconja

Pokemon: Blissey
Take: 3
Type: Fairy
Ability: Natural Cure / Shed Skin / Healer
Stats: 120/35/95/110/125/85 (570 BST)
New Moves: Moonblast, Draining Kiss (useless but flavorful), Earth Power
Competitive Niche: Bulky special wall that competes with Clefable due to the latter's better abilities, as well as Chansey due to the latter's much higher special bulk.
Sample Sets:
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Stealth Rock
- Soft-Boiled
- Toxic / Earth Power

Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Moonblast
- Earth Power
- Soft-Boiled
- Calm Mind
Will start the next slate tomorrow, in the meantime, discuss what impact these pokes'll have on OU.

I think Blissey would eclipse Clefable for the most part. While Clef ignores hazards and eats up Toxic, Nature Cure allows the later to be a non factor and its massive overall bulk still outshines the immunity to hazards bit.

Diancie is obviously several leagues better than in standard, but I still think it wont be anything more than a niche pick, especially since Blissey increased the # of defensive fairies it has to compete against.

Not much for Cryogonal other than a really solid pick that will be really potent in OU.

Okay, time for the next slate!
Submission Slate #2: ORAS OU Kings
In the days of ORAS, these pokemon dominated OU and were seen on almost every team, but now they are literally never there due to USM making their flaws more apparent so that competitive battlers now stay away from them. Bisharp has a low speed that makes it over-reliant on Sucker Punch, as well as having low defenses, Talonflame has even lower bulk, mediocre offensive power, and is heavily reliant on SR being off the field in order to succeed, and Slowbro's typing and low Special Defense leaves it weak to many common threats, and it fails to hit other bulky Water-types hard. But now, they can get a chance to perform just how they did last gen!
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Take #1: The Bruiser
Type Restriction: Must keep its typing the same
Ability Restriction: 3.5
Stat Restriction: One attacking stat must be at least 135, speed cannot be higher than 70.
Move Restriction: Any two damaging moves

Take #2: Who needs Attack?
Type Restriction: The pokemon's second type must be a type the first type is weak to (e.g. if Slowbro is chosen, its type must be Water/Electric or Water/Grass)
Ability Restriction: 4
Stat Restriction: Both attacking stats must have a value of 70 or lower.
Move Restriction: 2 new moves of the new secondary type it doesn't have

Take #3: Complete Turnaround!
Type Restriction: Must change its type completely, new typing cannot be old ones.
Ability Restriction: 4 only if you don't give it any damaging moves, 3 otherwise
Stat Restriction: One of the poke's original defense stats must switch with an attack stat, sum of attack stats must be between 180-220
Move Restriction: 3 moves of your choice, just remember the ability restriction
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Good luck, and know that you can use a take more than once.
EDIT: Sorry for not making this clear, but all Slowbro subs have to be exactly 490 BST due to Mega Slowbro. I'll edit the OP with that message too. The take's rules for the Slowbro still apply.
EDIT 2: God, what's wrong with me? I forgot to say that all Slowbro subs need to have their HP exactly the same. I know it happened with Diancie, but it just now came to me, and now I realize that megas can't have HP altered.

Pokemon: Talonflame
Take: 1
Type:

Ability: Mountain Bird (Volt Absorb clone for Rock moves, doesn't provide a SR immunity)
Stats: 90/135/90/50/90/70
New Moves: Drill Run, Beak Blast
Competitive Niche: Talonflame is a unique defensive Pokemon thanks to its immunity to EdgeQuake and its unique typing which allows it to wall Pokemon such as non Outrage Garchomp, non Fly Landorus, Heatran and Tapu Bulu. It can Defog on very common hazard setter in Ferrothorn, Landorus, Garchomp, Clefable and Heatran but struggles against a lot of top tiers in Tapu Koko, Ash-Greninja, Toxapex, Zapdos and Tapu Fini.
Sample Sets:
Defensive
Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Mountain Bird
EVs: 248 HP / 154 Def / 108 Spe (lets Talonflame outspeed defensive Heatran)
Jolly Nature
- Roost
- Defog / Flare Blitz
- Beak Blast
- Drill Run / Flare Blitz

Stallbreaker
Talonflame @ Leftovers
Ability: Mountain Bird
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpD / 8 Spe (lets outspeed Mega-Maw)
Careful Nature
- Roost
- Bulk Up
- Taunt
- Beak Blast

Pokemon: Slowbro
Take: 2
Type:

Ability: Regenerator | Poison Heal
Stats: 95/45/130/70/120/30
New Moves: Discharge, Volt Switch
Competitive Niche: Slowbro has two great defensive abilities and a good defensive typing, allowing it to wall the likes of Tornadus, Jirachi, Scizor and Ash Greninja. However unlike Rotom with which it shares the same typing, Slowbro isn't immune to Ground preventing it from walling Landorus, Garchomp and Excadrill, while also having bigger problem dealing with Heatran. However Slowbro distinguishes itself from Rotom thanks to its wider movepool allowing to threaten several Pokemon from Ferrothorn to Landorus through Tapu Fini and Heatran.
Sample Sets:
Assault Vest
Slowbro @ Assault Vest
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 252 SpA / 8 Spe
Modest Nature
- Scald
- Volt-Switch
- Fire Blast
- Ice Beam

Calm Mind
Slowbro @ Toxic Orb
Ability: Poison Heal
EVs: 248 HP / 252 Def / 8 SpA
Bold Nature
- Calm Mind
- Scald
- Discharge / Iron Defense
- Slack Off

Pokemon: Bisharp
Take: 3
Type:

Ability: Rock Head
Stats: 70/120/60/100/125/92
New Moves: Flare Blitz, Head Smash, Accelerock
Competitive Niche: A powerful wallbreaker thanks to 2 very strong STAB moves as well as priority moves in Sucker Punch and Accelerock. It can break through common defensive core with ease but struggles against very common types in OU in Water and Ground, leaving it easily revenge killed by the like of Ash-Greninja, Scarf Landorus, Garchomp and Swampert under Rain, while also making struggle to switch in the like of Toxapex and Pelipper. Thanks to its good Special Defense and resistance to Fire it can easily check Volcarona.
Sample Sets:
Bisharp @ Rockium Z
Ability: Rock Head
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly / Adamant Nature
- Swords Dance
- Head Smash
- Flare Blitz
- Accelerock / Sucker Punch / Rock Polish

Pokemon: Bisharp
Take: 1 (Why not?)
Type: Dark / Steel
Ability: Technician / Defiant / Moxie
Stats: 75 / 145 / 125 / 40 / 100 / 70 (555 BST)
New Moves: Bullet Punch, Close Combat
Competitive Niche: Bisharp finds itself a new home in OU as a hard-hitting physical attacker which takes advantage of its high physical attack and good bulk on both sides to stomach hits from common trends in Landorus-T, Ash-Greninja, and Heatran and hit devastatingly hard in return. Bullet Punch gives it a more reliable priority move, especially when boosted with Technician, while Close Combat gives it coverage against common OU trends such as Ash-Greninja and Heatran, while all of its abilities are fantastic in their own ways, with Technician making Bullet Punch an even more threatening priority move, Defiant allowing it to punish Landorus-T's Intimidate or Tapu Fini's Defog, and Moxie easily allowing it to snowball out of control. Despite all of these positives, a lot of its previous issues bite it back HARD, namely, weaknesses to common offensive types in Fighting, Fire, and Ground and its low speed causing an overreliance on Bullet Punch to bypass faster foes, although said issue isn't as big of a problem given Bullet Punch's consistency over Sucker Punch's.
Sample Sets:
Bisharp @ Black Glasses / Fightinium Z (Allows its STAB Knock Off to hit even harder and gives a one-time nuke which OHKOes most targets at +2, respectively.)
Ability: Moxie (Allows Bisharp to snowball out of control versus defensive teams)
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant / Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Close Combat / Bullet Punch

Bisharp @ Choice Band
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Knock Off
- Iron Head
- Bullet Punch
- Close Combat

Pokemon: Talonflame
Take: 1
Type: Fire / Flying
Ability: Unburden / Energizer (Moxie clone which raises speed by one stage instead of attack)
Stats: 85 / 135 / 120 / 60 / 100 / 70 (570 BST)
New Moves: Drill Run, Close Combat
Competitive Niche: An incredibly powerful wallbreaker which packs two fantastic abilities which shore up its poor speed tier, not to mention good bulk on both sides as well. Its sheer attacking power allows it to break common defensive cores, while its good bulk allows it to survive quite a bit of hits from common offensive staples and offensive cores in general. However, its defensive typing is quite poor, cursing it with a quad weakness to Stealth Rock and leaving it easily revenge killed despite its good bulk by common OU trends such as Ash-Greninja, Mega Swampert under rain, Scarfed Landorus-T, and Rockium Z variants of Garchomp, while its attacking power is a bit disappointing without boosts, leaving it helpless against common defensive staples such as Toxapex and Zapdos.
Sample Sets:
Talonflame @ Figy Berry (Gives Talonflame much needed recovery)
Ability: Unburden (Takes advantage of Figy Berry's "one-time use" nature)
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature (Used over Adamant to take advantage of Unburden)
- Substitute
- Swords Dance
- Flare Blitz
- Acrobatics (Once again, takes advantage of Figy Berry's "one-time use" nature)

Talonflame @ Choice Band
Ability: Energizer
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat
- Drill Run / Flame Charge

Pokemon: Slowbro
Take: 3
Type: Poison / Dark
Ability: Filter / Aftermath / Poisonous Glare (Dazzling clone)
Stats: 95 / 70 / 100 / 110 / 95 / 20 (490 BST)
New Moves: Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave, Dark Pulse, Toxic Spikes
Competitive Niche: One of the best defensive typings in Dark / Poison? Check! Good bulk on both sides? Check! Good offensive prowess? Check! Slowbro packs a good defensive typing, allowing it to wall the likes of Mega Alakazam, Jirachi, Magearna, and Zapdos. It separates itself from other defensive staples such as Toxapex, Zapdos, and Mega Latias with its great defensive typing paired with Filter, pretty much making it all that harder to KO than the other three. Despite this, though, Slowbro's defenses are really not much to write home about, leaving it overwhelmed by stronger attackers such as Ash-Greninja, Heatran, Landorus-T, and Shift Gear variants of Magearna.
Sample Sets:
Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Filter
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Bold Nature
- Toxic
- Slack Off
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb

Slowbro @ Leftovers
Ability: Filter
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Toxic
- Slack Off
- Dark Pulse
- Sludge Bomb

awesome gaming

Pokemon: Bisharp
Take: 3
Type:
/

Ability: Moxie, Tough Claws
Stats: 149 / 149 / 79 / 70 / 60 / 63 (570)
New Moves: Bulk Up, Curse, Memento
Competitive Niche: Much like its vanilla counterpart, Bisharp is designed to set up and kill, which'll be fairly easy with that Attack stat and two great offensive abilities.

Pokemon: Talonflame
Take: 2
Type:
/

Ability: Fluffy, Intimidate
Stats: 150 / 22 / 87 / 62 / 118 / 131 (570)
New Moves: Power Gem, Stealth Rock
Competitive Niche: Really, really wonky support for Stall teams. It's an expert at stopping sweeps, soaking hits and pivoting around.

Pokemon: Slowbro
Take: 3
Type:
/

Ability: Storm Drain, Regenerator
Stats: 100 / 60 / 100 / 110 / 90 / 30 (490)
New Moves: Heal Bell, Roar, Will-O-Wisp
Competitive Niche: Slowbro can better take advantage of its Fire coverage with its unique set of resistances and STAB. Tri Attack on a defensive Pokemon's also very cool.
