Orbital Launch |
| Special | 140 | 100 | +5 power for every hazard on the field. Clears all hazards.
Flavor: la creatura
Description: ice wallbreaker cuz this meta lacks that. basically mini kyurem but no degen sub roost pressure strats ew yucky!! ice scales gives it extra bulk when switching in, sheer force gives it extra power while wearing boots, and hyper cutter so it cant get intim'd by capsaken if you chose to run physical (you're not, but rock slide is cool tech right???). orbital launch is cool to remove hazards, but this is also a pretty good hazard setter, so its a trade off. meteor beam is also there

The "fix" has been sent out to DH so battles should work when it updates again. Don't think these three will be there when that happens. Otherwise, you're once again free to sub!

Notable Moves:

Boomburst, Hyper Voice, Giga Drain, Thunder, Thunderbolt
Leech Seed, Protect, Rest, Sleep Talk, Synthesis, Swords Dance, Taunt
Flavor Moves: Every move in Rillaboom's usually useless moves category + Spark, Thunder Shock, Charge and Charge Beam.
Move Name: Danger Stunt
Category: Physical
Type: Electric
Base Power: 150
Accuracy: 100
Effect(s): Has 1/2 Recoil
Attributes: Recoil
Explanation: Electric Head Smash that serves to activates emergency exit and deal damage.
Explanation: Grass Type that is able to provide speed control with drum beating and tangled hair if desired. However its main draw is also Reckless STAB spam in order to get into emergency exit range and provide a free switch to your team. (Note that DH is currently bugged so eexit doesn't work as supposed to but i got evidence that recoil + eexit works). Changed stuff according to Mossy and Ready to lose's criticism.

Blizzard, Flash Cannon, Ice Beam, Sludge Bomb, Sludge Wave
Acid Armor, Curse, Haze, Protect, Recover, Roar, Rock Polish, Substitute, Stealth Rocks, Toxic,
Flavor Moves: Every move in Avalugg's usually useless moves category + Sludge, Spite, Memento, Acid Spray
Move Name: Time Freeze
Category: Status
Type: Ice
Accuracy: 100
Effect(s): Blocks the user and target from switching out, Prevents both of them from moving for 5 turns. +1 Priority
Attributes: Priority, other status stuff.
Explanation: Weird move that can allow you to get leftovers recovery and/or stack poison damage.
Explanation: Essentially Avalugg but with actual abilities and more special bulk at the cost of less physical bulk. Spins, sets rocks and is overall very tanky with the posibility of making physical attackers lose their abilites, which can ruin some mons like tusquoka, shinamako and turbulusk. Otherwise held back by shit defensive typing and an extremely situational fifth move. Edit: Decided to change Sticky hold to ice body to make it less over-optimised, did give the fifth move priority to not make it useless. Edit 2: Ready to lose gave me good feedback.

Head Smash, Wood Hammer, Body Press, Earthquake, High Horsepower, Thunder Punch, Double-Edge, Darkest Lariat, Heavy Slam, Focus Punch, Protect, Ingrain, Toxic, Stone Edge, Rock Slide, Bulldoze, Vine Whip, Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Grassy Terrain, Sandstorm, Smack Down, Rock Tomb, Rock Wrecker, Ancient Power, Earth Power, Mud Shot, Mud-Slap, Scorching Sands, Steel Roller, Body Slam, Block, Giga Impact, Nature Power, Brick Break, Leaf Storm, Tackle, Stockpile, Harden, Mega Punch, Sunny Day, Rock Polish, Solar Beam, Weather Ball, Rain Dance, Iron Head, Skull Bash, Take Down, Dynamic Punch, Headbutt, Brick Break, Surf, Counter, Seismic Toss, Brutal Swing, Meteor Beam, Rock Smash, universal moves
Weight: 2745 kg
Explanation: Immensely powerful and bulky, this would be an excellent physical tank. Recoil-less Head Smash and Wood Hammer are extremely strong, and it has a healthy amount of coverage to hurt the Steel-types that resist its STAB. This mon is also extremely slow, even slower than most defensive mons and it has very few resistances and some exploitable weaknesses to good offensive types, so in the long term it gets worn down by hazards, stray U-turns, and switching into hits. Still, the resistances it does have are useful against Tuskuoka and Eneryth and it can almost always take a hit and strike back hard.
Move Name: Old-Growth Strike
Category: Physical
Type:

Base Power: 90
Accuracy: 100
Attributes: Contact
Effect(s): Sets up Grassy Terrain for 5 turns (8 turns if holding Terrain Extender).
Explanation: This move lets Gladiarbor passively gain recovery and even more bulk, along with greater power on Grass moves and weakening opposing Earthquakes, letting it handle mons that may use that as coverage, although it should be noted that there aren’t really any mons that would use Earthquake as their main STAB yet. It’s also a bit weaker than your main STAB, so use it wisely.

Name: Nightmite
Typing:

Abilities: Emergency Exit / Natural Cure / Triage
Stats: 77 / 94 / 79 / 104 / 122 / 94 (570)
Notable Moves:
Leech Life, Play Rough
Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Bug Buzz, Spirit Break, Psychic, Energy Ball, Hurricane, Air Slash
Rest, Quiver Dance, Stun Spore, Defog, Toxic
Leech Life, Play Rough, Moonblast, Draining Kiss, Bug Buzz, Spirit Break, Psychic, Energy Ball, Hurricane, Air Slash, Rest, Quiver Dance, Stun Spore, Defog, Toxic, Bug Bite, Ice Punch, Thunder Punch, Gastro Acid, Fairy Wind, Gust, Dual Wingbeat, Solar Beam, Bite, Struggle Bug, Sweet Scent, Aerial Ace, Tailwind, Night Shade, Reflect, Light Screen, Infestation, Dazzling Gleam, Aromatic Mist, Dream Eater, Charm, Misty Terrain, Misty Explosion, Sweet Kiss, Mega Drain, Absorb, Air Cutter, Tackle, After You, Bestow, Swift, Comet Punch, Mega Punch, Psych Up, Nature Power, Last Resort, Razor Wind, Zen Headbutt, Headbutt, First Impression, Double-Edge, Calm Mind, Work Up, Heal Pulse, Speed Swap, Imprison, universal moves
Weight: 7 kg
Explanation: Looks weird, huh? The stats and moves suggest a powerful Quiver Dance sweeper, and Triage a revenge killer, but Emergency Exit throws a wrench in all of that. This mon actually plays more as a pivot, with utility and revenge killing potential added on. The way it works is that after taking a hit and pivoting out with Emergency Exit, you come back later and recover with priority Rest, and the next time you are forced out by Emergency Exit, you heal it off with Natural Cure. The result is a weird pivot that doesn’t really work much like anything in standard play. Unlike a conventional Regenerator pivot, you are limited by PP and are relatively helpless after recovering before you get pivoted out, but the full recovery and simply needing to be attacked to pivot out is useful. While not asleep, you can Defog, chip faster foes with Draining Kiss or Leech Life, or use Quiver Dance to potentially get a mini-sweep going. While not expressly powerful, the sheer uniqueness of this mon gives it a cool niche.
Move Name: Dream Dust
Category: Special
Type:

Base Power: 140
Accuracy: 100
Attributes:
Effect(s): Can only be selected if the user is asleep. Fails if the user is not asleep.
Explanation: A one-time use move that prevents this mon from being a sitting duck while asleep, at least once. This is a useful move to not be as much of a setup fodder, and it’s pretty powerful too, but you might struggle to pull it off if you get forced out before you can execute the move, Still, it’s a useful tool to have in your back pocket.

Name: Shoctopode
Typing:

Abilities: Liquid Ooze / Galvanize / Static
Stats: 85 / 85 / 78 / 114 / 119 / 74 (555)
Notable Moves:
Rapid Spin, Body Slam
Sludge Bomb, Tri Attack, Wring Out, Discharge, Volt Switch, Sludge Wave, Surf, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt
Recover, Toxic Spikes, Thunder Wave, Toxic, Haze
Rapid Spin, Body Slam, Sludge Bomb, Tri Attack, Wring Out, Discharge, Volt Switch, Sludge Wave, Surf, Hydro Pump, Thunderbolt, Recover, Toxic Spikes, Thunder Wave, Toxic, Haze, Rising Voltage, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse, Hex, Gunk Shot, Venoshock, Acid Armor, Thunder, Charge, Shock Wave, Spark, Thunder Shock, Tackle, Charge Beam, Hyper Beam, Acid Spray, Giga Impact, Screech, Swift, Liquidation, Waterfall, Whirlpool, Smokescreen, Wrap, Octazooka, Bind, Water Pulse, Water Gun, Rain Dance, Psybeam, Signal Beam, Confuse Ray, Skitter Smack, Supersonic, Thief, Hail, Gastro Acid, Purify, universal moves
Weight: 11 kg
Explanation: A very useful special tank, this mon can spread around status and remove hazards with Rapid Spin while remaining healthy thanks to reliable recovery. Electric / Poison is a very nice typing with good resistances and status absorbing potential. Offensively, this mon has some potential too, with good power thanks to Galvanize and Wring Out being potentially very powerful, but is pretty lacking in coverage besides Water moves, and while they help, they don't really do enough to Dustrake (which spinblocks it!), Rapteroid or Avasterror. It also can't really fit a water move on a defensive set. Being a Toxic Spikes setter with reliable recovery is another great niche, but it also seems to invite in Toxic Spikes absorbers like Amvip and itself easily. Overall, this mon's role would be as a check to most special attackers like Eneryth, Baloon, Lilyqueen, and potentially Rapteroid, as well as any Skyrider lacking EQ. Offensively it is handled by Dustrake, Avasterror, potentially Rapteroid, and itself, and while it is powerful, its STABs are prediction reliant and it isn't super fast either.
Move Name: Seizing Poison
Category: Special
Type:

Base Power: 100
Accuracy: 100
Attributes:
Effect(s): Doubles in power if the target is poisoned or paralyzed.
Explanation: Although fairly average, being not much stronger than Sludge Bomb, it grows much stronger if the foe is inflicted with the status it commonly spreads. Still a tricky move to use, but potentially great in beating down a bulky foe. Overall, I'd say this is a niche move though.

Explanation: Rock / Fairy is a bad typing, but offensively, it's quite good, you've got STAB on Moonblast and Meteor Beam, can only be walled by certain combination of steel type. With Weak Armor and Stamina you basically have free speed boost with no drawback everytime you got hit by an attack, paired with Meteor Beam and you shall get a decent late game sweeper.

Description: funny mimicry mon. switches in with both boosted stab and boosted steel roller, and gains steelworker boosted stab after terrain ends. also comes with fighting + electric coverage. however, its attack isn't all that good and isn't really incentivized for running band. pure psychic for a phys wallbreaker is also lol.

i'd vetopost about now but it's been too long with me not doing this and my brain is fried right now so i don't trust me

Sub review:

Showmandril: I love the concept of this mon, this is one of the simplest and best ways to try and turn Emergency Exit into an upside. It also makes going for your expansion move while choiced a lot less risky! It just doesn’t have enough for me to vote for it currently though. Although it's strong, its other stats are pretty mediocre and it could easily be walled by a potential physdef Grass or Dragon, and its slowness / average bulk means it could falter against offense. I think you could afford to pad out its movepool a bit, maybe with a stronger coverage move and a potential priority move? U-turn / Volt Switch could pad out choiced sets and make them a lot less risky, but they might clash with the concept of the mon in your opinion.

Hikerkorpse: Weird mon. Ice / Poison is definitely a better type than pure Ice, but it makes you weak to Ground which is horrible. Mummy is potentially very powerful, and can let you beat Shinamako, but what could also happen is it just sets up to +6 Bulk Ups and kills you. The expansion move is pretty much a a guaranteed kill if it hits a Toxic'd mon, but is pretty useless otherwise, and this mon looks like it would really struggle to fit Toxic or Poison Jab thanks to serious 4MSS (wants Ice stab, Body Press, recovery, Poison inflicting move, hazards / removal, phazing / hazing?). It does beat Tusquoka though so there's that. The fact that it is hit super-effectively by nearly every mon currently makes me think this mon could really struggle to keep up.

Kuninyx: I don't hate this mon, but Smoke Bomb is really weird. If a Pokemon switches in through a pivoting move (like U-turn, Baton Pass, etc.), it still gets boosted damage from Stakeout, and can still be Pursuit trapped, and this mon is so slow that it's not really going to prevent anything from pivoting. They will just U-turn out into your counter before you can get the move off. It feels like the only use of the move is countering Teleport.

Sedimoth: This thing is very powerful between edgequake and sand force, and the fact that it has Flying coverage makes it hard for Shinamako and Lilyqueen to fight it. Desert Dance is basically beefed up Rock Polish on physical sets, and we don't really have the priority to revenge it currently, and if Jolly it even outspeeds Eneryth at +2. Special sets are perfectly viable too thanks to Meteor Beam and the +1 SpA from Desert Dance, although not as good currently this could lure and destroy a lopsided physical wall. Overall this is a risky pick to me, but we're pretty early in the mod's development so it likely wouldn't end up being a long-term problem.

Animeleon: anime Pretty decent rain sweeper that can't be revenged by Eneryth and has some decent coverage, besides that it's not super interesting. I don't know if there's enough in the mod to currently support a rain sweeper like this. Damp Rock + Flip Turn Lilyqueen is the best you'll get, and that kinda only works once. If it's pretty usable outside of rain too though (and it looks like it could be, CM + Recover + Toxic immune is strong) that's. not too much of a problem. The expansion move is currently unfinished though, so I'll refrain from any final judgments.

Freezolt: Potentially super strong? CB + Download boost + Frost Charge is basically a free kill almost always, but such a set would be so hampered by hazards and recoil that it would require a ton of support. Current counterplay to this mon would be trying to dance around it while it gets worn down, or going to Capsaken or Avastyourass once. Faster than Skyrider + Ice Shard means it's no slacker against offense. This is kinda like Sedimoth where I think it would be a risky pick now, but it's still pretty early so further down the line as we get more physical walls it could be fine.

Dimonium: I like this thing a lot actually. Good stab options and some very usable coverage. It can still be revenged by Eneryth at +2 but is otherwise tough to stop. The fact that it requires to take a contact move hit in order to get the speed boost is a pretty big drawback though, and a savvy player can play around that, and honestly it doesn't bring a lot to the table if it's not speed-boosted. In terms of coverage I think it's fine, but imo you could pad it out a little bit more, maybe by adding some alternate boosting options so it's not as reliant on Meteor Beam and Weak Armor? Or how about some potential physical moves to make use of its decent attack stat? These sorts of things will help it in the long run.

Equivalor: Uhhhh weird. Trying to come up with sets for this hurts my brain. I'm not even sure what item this mon would prefer to run usually. Removing terrain gives you STAB on Steel but also prevents you from using Steel Roller so it's not really a power increase. Psychic + Fighting is nice coverage actually, so it might prefer to keep terrain up sometimes. Also it's a nice offensive Defogger, but that also removes your terrain. I have no idea how good this mon would be (but it would probably be cool)

Bewitchard: This mon is a fine concept but I feel like it’s a little bit too similar to some other mons. Lilyqueen in particular is a similar Grass-type pivot, and its expansion move seems pretty non-impactful, especially since just going for Parting Shot seems better in a lot of situations. Amvip has the same effect on its move, with an attack tacked on too. Maybe you could rework the expansion move to something like an attack that becomes stronger the more stat drops they have? This would be a great combo with its moves and Acid Spray which you should totally give it. Just an idea though, this is all very subjective, take it with a grain of salt

Next slate will open tomorrow or something
