Durant@Choice Scarf

Jolly natured

-Entrainment

Chandelure@Lum Berry
Trait: Shadow Tag
EVs: 252 Spa/ 252 HP/ 6 Def
Modest nature

-Protect

-Coverage Move of your choice

Turn 1- Durant uses entrainment.
Turn2- Switch in Chandelure. Opponent is loafing around.
Turn 3 - Chadelure protects.
Turn 4- Chandelure boost up with flame charge. Opponent is loafing around.
Turn 5 Chandelure protects
Turn 6- Flame charge, loafing around.
etc.

Just boost up until you get +6 speed, special attack, and special defense and sweep.

No.

Firstly, Chandelure's Attack sucks. Secondly, to set all that +6/+6/+6 up would be wasting a tonne of Protects. Thirdly, VoltTurn puts a stop to this rather easily, unless my memory of U-turn and Volt Switch is flawed in its going over Shadow Tag.

actually, the only way to stop this is continually switching out of Durant until it runs out of PP or decides to attack, using a Flash Fire user, or using Volt Switch / U-turn. However, considering that at +6 Chandelure will be faster than every Pokemon, it can get annoying if used correctly. Most players wouldn't fall for this, though. I think it may belong in the effective combination thread.

Also, the opponent can switch as soon as you hit them with Entertainment (which can also be achieved by not killing Durant, which is very much possible since no one uses Durant unless they're using Truant). Not saying that it can't work, it's just far from unstoppable.

This is just one of those gimmicks that seem cool but don't work in practice. In fact, this is the MummyKing of Dream World.

Flame Charge is to boost Speed; it has nothing to do with whether or not it deals damage. Volturn wouldn't stop this either since Chandelure uses Protect on the VS / UT, hence leaving them in.

However, what coverage move are you going to use? +6 anything still only 2HKOes some Pokemon, giving them a chance to KO. Most notable is Tyranitar, which survives basically everything except Hp Fighting, but do you really want Chandelure with only HP Fighting?

IMO that's the major problem with this set: insufficient mono-attacking capability.
