tera type: Normal

[SET COMMENTS]
  • Dragonite carves its niche thanks to having one of the strongest priority moves in the game in its Terastallization-boosted Extreme Speed, making it a threatening sweeper on offensive teams.
  • Roost is good against bulkier teams for longevity and regaining Multiscale, but against Pokemon as strong as the likes of Miraidon and Koraidon, Dragonite will rarely be able to safely heal up.
  • Ice Spinner is useful to complement Dragonite's mandatory setup and coverage moves, hitting Great Tusk, Koraidon, and Ting-Lu hard while also being a solid option against Corviknight trying to PP stall.
  • Dragon Claw OHKOes Koraidon after a boost but is easily baited by Terastallization, given that its main targets in Koraidon and Miraidon commonly use Terastallization to avoid being weak to Dragon-type moves in particular.
  • Tera Normal is crucial for Dragonite's gameplan, removing all of its weaknesses to common types like Ice, Fairy, and Dragon while boosting Extreme Speed to levels strong enough for the metagame.
  • A Jolly nature allows Dragonite to outspeed Miraidon, Koraidon, Chien-Pao, Iron Bundle, and Flutter Mane after a boost, while an Adamant nature helps with overall damage, improving Extreme Speed rolls against Pokemon like Chien-Pao and Chi-Yu.
  • Hyper offense leads like Grimmsnarl, Glimmora, and Masquerain are required for Dragonite, as it otherwise finds it hard to set up on or break through defensive teams.
  • Shed Tail from Cyclizar gives Dragonite a Substitute while retaining Multiscale, allowing for much easier setup.
  • Other strong wallbreakers and sweepers like Swords Dance Koraidon and Chien-Pao and Calm Mind Miraidon and Flutter Mane help soften up defensive walls, enabling Dragonite to sweep.
  • Flutter Mane is extremely threatening to Dragonite, being immune to Extreme Speed and faster than Adamant Dragonite at +1 Speed and faster than +2 Speed Dragonite in sun. Dragonite is also frequently paired with other Dragon-types, necessitating teammates that can deal with Flutter Mane such as Kingambit and Sucker Punch Chien-Pao.

Mention that Dragonite makes you super weak to Flutter Mane since you're including it next to at least one of the big two and then potentially adding a non-resist in one of the "hyper offense enablers". I also think Roost is much more useful than Ice Spinner so I'd put it first in the slashes. Maybe bring up how vital Tera Normal is for it to beat Dragon/Ice/Fairy locked foes?

1/2 this mon is actually kinda poopy.

given that the main targets in Koraidon and Miraidon commonly use Tera Fairy
This feels like you're saying Korai often uses Tera Fairy. Just rephrase it.

That's all I saw needed that correction, 2/2.

  • Dragonite carves its niche thanks to having some one of the strongest priority moves in the game with in its Terastallization-boosted (hyphen) Extreme Speed, making it a threatening sweeper on offensive teams.
  • Roost is good against bulkier teams for longevity and regaining Multiscale, but against Pokemon as strong as the likes of Miraidon and Koraidon, (add comma) Dragonite will rarely be able to safely heal up.
  • Ice Spinner is useful to complement its Dragonite's mandatory setup (remove space) and coverage moves, (add comma) as it hits hitting Great Tusk, Koraidon, and Ting-Lu hard while also being a solid option against Corviknight trying to PP stall.
  • Dragon Claw OHKO's OHKOes Koraidon after a boost but is easily baited by Terastallization, given that the its main targets in Koraidon and Miraidon commonly use Terastallization to avoid being weak to Dragon-type moves in particular.
  • Tera Normal is crucial for Dragonite's gameplan, removing all of its weaknesses to common types like Ice, Fairy, and Dragon, (remove comma) while boosting Extreme Speed to levels strong enough for the metagame.
  • A Jolly nature allows Dragonite to outspeed Miraidon, Koraidon, Chien-Pao, Iron Bundle, and Flutter Mane after a boost, meanwhile while an Adamant nature helps with overall damage, improving Extreme Speed rolls against Pokemon like Chien-Pao and Chi-Yu.
  • Hyper offense enablers Hyper offense leads like Grimmsnarl, Glimmora, and Masquerain are required for Dragonite, as it otherwise finds it hard to set up on or break through defensive teams. This makes leads like Grimmsnarl, Glimmora, or Masquerain very valuable.
  • Shed Tail from Cyclizar gives Dragonite a Substitute while retaining Multiscale, allowing for much easier setup.
  • Other strong wallbreakers and sweepers like Swords Dance Koraidon and Chien-Pao, or and Calm Mind Miraidon and Flutter Mane help soften up defensive walls, (add comma) to enable enabling Dragonite to sweep.
  • Flutter Mane is extremely threatening to Dragonite, being immune to Extreme Speed and faster than Adamant Dragonite at +1 Speed and faster than +2 Speed Dragonite in Sun sun. Especially when Dragonite is also frequently paired with other Dragon-types, (add comma) this necessitates some way of dealing necessitating teammates that can deal with Flutter Mane, (remove comma) such as Kingambit or and Sucker Punch Chien-Pao.
