[SET]
Desolate Land (Iron Moth) @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Desolate Land
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Fiery Dance
- Morning Sun
- U-turn / Toxic / Toxic Spikes
- Energy Ball / Dazzling Gleam / Discharge
[SET COMMENTS]
ron Moth functions as an offensive pivot that can also opt to spread status. U-turn allows Iron Moth to gain momentum on switch-ins such as Manaphy, Swampert, and Meloetta, as well as Fire-immune foes such as Well-Baked Body Gholdengo and Corviknight. Toxic and Toxic Spikes allow Iron Moth to chip down defensive Pokemon. Energy Ball is decent coverage against would-be switch-ins like Manaphy, Swampert, and Primordial Sea Barraskewda. Dazzling Gleam hits Dragon-types like Roaring Moon, Walking Wake, and Dragonite. Discharge hits Manaphy and Well-Baked Body Corviknight and can notably paralyze Well-Baked Body Gholdengo. Desolate Land effectively grants Iron Moth a Water immunity, enabling it to switch into Ogerpon-W, Barraskewda, and Primarina for its team. Pokemon with setup moves like Gouging Fire and Ogerpon-W appreciate Iron Moth's ability to bait in RegenVest users like Manaphy and Meloetta and pivot on them. Iron Moth does pitiful damage to RegenVest users like Manaphy, Meloetta, and Hisuian Goodra, so it benefits from special wallbreakers like Deoxys-S, Walking Wake, and Latios that can lure in and help wear down shared checks; they also appreciate Iron Moth chipping said checks, especially with Toxic or Toxic Spikes.
