Döppelgangers
Have you always lost to a certain Pokemon no matter what you try to counter it with? Does your team need help with a Pokemon with a variety of sets? Well, in Döppelgangers, a shiny version of a Pokemon isnt's just a shiny. It's a counter! A non-shiny Rillaboom would still be the same Grassy-Gliding terror, but a shiny Rillaboom would be more like a Corviknight: a normal Rillaboom wouldn't stand a chance against it!

Rules:
1. All Döppelgangers must have the same BST as their original forms
2. Type changes are allowed
3. Calculations are required in a submission, or will be vetoed
4. Shiny-locking will be ignored (Shiny Victini is illegal but would still have a Döppelganger, Pikachu can not be shiny to know Sing but its Döppelganger would still be able to learn Sing if not removed)
5. Only post Döppelgangers for Pokemon that we are doing the slate for

Submitting:
Unlike the old Döppelgangers, we will only be allowing one submission per Pokemon. We also have an ability ranking chart. You can spend "points" for each ability your Döppelganger has. Okay so I'm gonna make a little post to explain the new ability rules cause they might be confusing for people not experienced with ability ratings.

1 - What are ability ratings?

In showdown's code, every ability is given a ranking from -2 to 5 which indicates how effective it is. This number is called the ability rating. To see the ratings of every ability, check right here.

2 - What is the ability rule exactly?

The rule for submissions in Döppelganger is that:

I - You may not exceed the total ability rating of the base pokemon.
II - You may not give a döppleganger an ability that is rated higher than the highest of the base pokemon.

Okay, but what does this means? Let's take clefable for instance.

:clefable:
Clefable gets access to three abilities: Magic Guard (rated 4.5), Unaware (rated 3) and Cute Charm (rated 1). This gives clefable a total ability ranking of 8.5. When making your anti-clefable, that means the ratings of the abilities you chose for your submission must not exceed 8.5. You could have an ability at 4, one at 2.5 and one at 2, since that's 8.5 in total. You could also do three abilities rated at 2.5, since that makes for a total of 7.5. What you could not do for instance is pick three abilities at 3, since that would make a total of 9 which would surpass clefable's total rating.

Something else you couldn't do it pick two abilities at 1.5 and then one rated 5. Yes, this makes for a total of 8 which is under 8.5, but it also gives your anti-clefable an ability rated higher than clef's highest rated ability. In this case, you're giving your anti-clefable a 5 rated ability while clefable's highest rated ability is Magic Guard at 4.5.

Using ability rated -1 and -2 do not give you additional points. They count like 0-rated abilities. Although, if the mon you're making a doppleganger for has a negative total rating, then you must match this negative rating.

Finally, you must either match the number of abilities the base mon has or have less.

3. Why are we implementing such a convoluted rule?

While checking the current winners archive, we found out that a lot of pokemon had heavy ability creep, often outclassing the tools their counterparts have access too. This rule is also to stay in line with the BST and movepool rules. Hopefully, with this we'll be able to have a much more interesting submission experience and a more balanced metagame once it becomes playable.

4. What does this mean for current winners?

Nothing! They've won under the old rules and we'll keep them that way for the moment.

––––––––––––––––––––––––

We hope this isn't too complicated. If you have additional questions about those or any other rules, feel free to either ask on this thread, in the discord server or in DMs.

Welcome back everyone! Time to

(Not) Let it Snow!
:swsh/arctozolt: :swsh/ninetales-alola: :swsh/kyurem:
Hail has become a HUGE problem in OU recently after the discovery of Arctozolt being busted (wow, who woulda thought a mon with STAB BoltBeam and an ability that doubles its speed in hail could be a problem? ESPECIALLY with a STAB 140 BP move, right?) Our solution: We (don't) let it snow!

Anti Ninetales Alola can take literally anything base AlolaTales can throw at it, and can OHKO with Flash Cannon.

Pokemon: Anti-Kyurem
New Stats: 130 | 95 | 90 | 90 | 125 | 130 (660 BST)

Anti Kyurem is a fat mon with a funny typing and hilarious stat spread designed to give Kyurem a hard time. Kyurem can technically run Flash Cannon to nail it, but that forces Kyurem to drop its precious coverage options or it's Draco Meteor, making it a worse breaker in general.

Two different ways to approach the same problem. Air Lock stops the effects of weather, preventing Ninetales-A from getting Veil up. Alternatively you can run Wonder Skin which is a catch-all means of dealing with Ninetales-A's support options like Disable, Encore, and Hypnosis, and manually remove Veil with Psychic Fangs. Running the latter lets you get up your own Veil too if you'd want.

Ice-typing so you don't get frozen and stop being a counter. Did you know Ninetales-Alola gets Triple Axel? That's why I added Hone Claws and complementary Iron Tail. You're pretty well walled by Steel and Fire so pair with helpful Ground and Water teammates to deal with them.

Pokemon: Kyurem
New Stats: 125/115/100/110/100/110
New Abilities: Dancer
Typing: Bug/Steel
New Moves: Gear Grind, Leech Life, First Impression, Bug Buzz
Removed Moves: All Dragon and Ice moves, Focus Blast
Spread used: 164 ATK, 96 SPD, 248 SPE (318 > 317 Max Speed Kyurem)

252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyurem Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 96+ SpD Kyurem: 165-195 (42.1 - 49.8%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
200 SpA Kyurem Earth Power vs. 0 HP / 96+ SpD Kyurem: 73-86 (18.6 - 21.9%) -- possible 5HKO
164 Atk Kyurem Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kyurem: 328-388 (83.8 - 99.2%) -- approx. 2HKO
164 Atk Kyurem Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kyurem: 260-308 (66.4 - 78.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

I realize you don't ever actually OHKO it with this spread but keep in mind this is a Bug/Steel type with reliable recovery, a variety of useful moves, and 125/80/110 bulk alongside 110 Speed. You could lower Speed further to always outpace Modest Kyurem and give yourself better Attack. An alterative spread of 252 Atk/120 SpD/136 Spe does this and gives the following damage calcs:

252 Atk Kyurem Gear Grind (2 hits) vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kyurem: 348-412 (89 - 105.3%) -- approx. 25% chance to OHKO
252 Atk Kyurem Iron Head vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Kyurem: 278-330 (71 - 84.3%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

The extra dump stats into SpD also let you maintain 3HKO status versus Specs Focus Blast

252+ SpA Choice Specs Kyurem Focus Blast vs. 0 HP / 96+ SpD Kyurem: 165-195 (42.1 - 49.8%)

Switch directly into Kyurem. Neutral Nature 248 Speed always outpaces non-Scarf Kyurem (which isn't nearly as threatening to you as other sets could be), letting you apply immediate pressure with your Steel STAB. You can Roost on incoming Specs Focus Blasts and wait for misses to start making moves. Gear Grind is very helpful for fighting Substitute variants: you could also run Bug Buzz to deal damage directly. I guess First Impression can be used on slower, fatter sets to still get good damage off, and provides some extra utility. There are not many good Bug moves.

Dancer is an extremely weird pick but there's not much else that can be run following the point system, and this differentiates it from other subs. Sometimes you come across Physical DD Kyurem looking to capitalize on incoming Special Walls. Anti-Kyurem solves this by copying DD itself (once again, switch this in directly), letting it outspeed Kyurem and threaten KOs with Steel STAB. Also means you can be a moron vs. Volcarona.

Unlike Anti-Ninetales-Alola if you get frozen by Kyurem you're just bad and need to learn to play into completely random status effects better.

Lauren can technically run Flash Cannon to nail it

surprised nobody did Slush Rush on arctozolt. Well now that I think about it, doing it directly would be boring. so...

Anti-Arctozolt
New Stats: 55/105/145/55/50/95
Typing:

New Abilities: Wandering Spirit, Trace (HA)
New Moves: Earthquake, Body Press, Iron Head, Poltergeist, Phantom Force, Spirit Shackle, Strength Sap, Pain Split, Shadow Ball, Toxic, Curse

Calcs:
0 Atk Arctozolt Earthquake vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Arctozolt: 164-194 (51 - 60.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO
252+ Def Arctozolt Body Press vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Arctozolt: 226-268 (70.4 - 83.4%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

So.. I wanted to make a really weird counter to arctozolt, and I did so with this. If arctozolt makes contact with its anti variant, their abilities can be swapped and the base gets outsped. Now, luckily, it has the bulk to survive one Bolt Beak with 252 in HP and defense, which then it can strength sap and gain a ton of health back.. It could also be a cool counter to Fighting types like Zapdos or Urshifu-R, and it can deal some good damage to pokemon like the Slowtwins. It also outspeeds Heatran and could easily switch into its magma storm with Trace. So yeah, I thought it was interesting.

So I wanted to make an offensive counter to A9. This mainly began with giving it an important base 110 speed tier, allowing it to outspeed A9 (and I boosted Kartana) with impunity, while being able to take momentum from hail due to either Air Lock allowing it to make Arctozolt slow or Slush Rush letting it outspeed everything. While the Fire/Steel type is very nice defensively, as Heatran has shown us for the past 15 years, the big glaring weaknesses to moves like Aqua Jet and Earthquake means that it has to play a very scary game with Urshifu-R, opposing AA9 and Heatran.

On a more serious note, if this comes in, it can likely get a lot of CMs due to its great bulk and speed. Thunder Wave can mess with anything fast that tries to set up or come in for free to try and break through the behemoth.

It’s held back by having a bad defensive typing, and being forced to run boots while not having Roost anymore. Strong attacks, like cb tar’s SE, or the many CCs flying around can force a rest or a switch, which is quite bad for the player. Plus, it has a deathly fear of Knock Off due to its rock weakness.

Congratulations to the winners of this slate! The next slate will be coming shortly. Meanwhile, feel free to discuss the new additions.

EDIT:
AHH I'm so sorry everyone especially Moretto (thank you so much for catching this)
Due to my stupidity an error counting the votes it turns out that Moretto's Anti-Alolan-Ninetales won this slate! Congrats!!!! (and sorry again)

ok i'll do it.

Anti-Ninetales-Alola
From what i've seen of this mon, it is quite amazing.
It has 115 on its Special Defense stats, paired with an amazing ability, Regenerator and good newfound moves, like Flip Turn, Sludge Bomb and Toxic Spikes, all moves that can be a problem to the opponent.
Its major flaw is having a low speed, so it can't outspeed physical Pokémon that hit Anti-Atales super-effectively, like Garchomp and Landorus-Therian.

Anti-Ninetales-Alola does well with the two Garchomps. Antichomp does counter regular Garchomp, making them an amazing pair. Garchomp can be paired with Anti-Ninetales-Alola too, because Anti-Atales resists fairy and has good Sp.Def to tank Focus Blast quite well, making Anti-Garchomp not as much of a problem as before.

My Personal Favorite and Recommended Set:

Anti-Ninetales-Alola @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 8 SpA / 252 SpD
Sassy Nature
- Sludge Bomb
- Flip Turn
- Toxic
- Ice Beam

I use this with Anti-Garchomp, so investing Atales with a specially defensive set is totally worth the try because it tanks special fairies well. Flip Turn is definitely the best move on this mon, and Ice Beam can take out Landorus-Therian and Garchomp switches. Sludge Bomb poisons, so it's nice to have, but if you want something more straightforward you can use Toxic.

Anti-Kyurem

This Pokémon is absolutely amazing. By far my favorite sub and addition to the mod as the mod is right now. Dancer is very cool and does a good job on countering sub DD Kyurem sets. This steals the DD and Gear Grinds Kyurem. It's dead! Seriously tho, i love this mon. My first impressions of this mon were not that great but when i did a testgame with regic boat this got my attention and its now my favorite mon here. Its versatility is so good because it can both run a physical set, a mixed set with lure Earth Power and a special set. Dancer isn't actually trash here because it can steal Volcarona's QD / SD or DD of another mon and start sweeping the floor. Even a Physical set would like the QD speed boost because Stone Edge blows Volcarona up.

Some nice pairings are Anti-Toxapex and Ground mons like Lando-T and Garchomp, since they get rid of fire types like Heatran, but even Heatran can't take 2 Earth Powers from a Special-Focused Anti-Kyurem, even with HP invest and max SpD. Overall, i like this mon a lot, and i will share some sets i think are going to be very good.

My Favorite and Recommended Sets:

Anti-Kyurem @ Life Orb
Ability: Dancer
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Gear Grind
- First Impression / Leech Life
- Stone Edge
- Roost

Physical Wallbreaker set with LO that has reliable recovery. Pretty nice to use honestly.

Anti-Kyurem @ Choice Specs / Life Orb
Ability: Dancer
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Earth Power
- Bug Buzz
- Flash Cannon
- Psychic / Roost

Special Anti-Kyurem. This can run both Life Orb and Choice Specs. Psychic is more of a coverage slot, what you really want here is dual STABs and Earth Power.

Anti-Kyurem @ Leftovers
Ability: Dancer
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Impish Nature
- Roost
- Gear Grind
- Toxic
- Leech Life / Protect / Substitute

Defensive Anti-Kyurem. It's a fun set, this mon has a fantastic 125 / 100 / 100 bulk that backs off the 4x fire weakness.

Anti-Arctozolt

This mon's defensive capacities are very good. Thick fat is so good on this mon, i wouldn't expect a mon benefiting so well of this ability. It takes a 2HKO against a +6 Anti-Landot with 252 SpA and Modest Nature using Ice Beam. But, depending on your spread, you might have to be careful when switching into mons like heatran, because you take around half of your HP if you switch into it.

Anti-Arctozolt might be a good pick for Sand Teams. Healing boost on sand with Shore Up, takes fire moves that Excadrill can't take, and makes sand have a better matchup against Hail. I don't know Anti-Arcto's complete defensive capacities against Arctozolt, because we don't have a calc showing Low Kick's damage against Antizolt. I expect to see it taking a 2HKO or 3HKO with the spread i'm gonna show here. Either way your game isn't lost when they switch Arctozolt if you have this. This Pokémon has a cool toolset too, having Ice Beam, Earth Power, Shore Up, Flash Cannon and Taunt as its main moves.

My Personal Favorite Set
I'll start this part mentioning that the Set i'm gonna show here isn't my creation, it is regic boat's. still, it's my favorite.

Anti-Arctozolt @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 252 HP / 212 Def / 44 SpA
Bold Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Ice Beam
- Earth Power
- Shore Up
- Flash Cannon

I skimmed the votes and it looks like there is a tie between Regic Boat and abismal for Anti Arctozolt, both being a fair bit ahead of PalpitoadChamp, but maybe i am not familiar with how the points work
