1. Altocumulos (A slow, Dragon-type special tank with great coverage and reliable recovery that can check a ton of stuff without feeling too overwhelming? I’m all in.)
2. Lunaraknid (SV) (Really in love with all the different things Lunaraknid can do thanks to its movepool, I think it’d make an excellent addition to the roster of offensive Pokémon.)
3. Yueffmicro (SV) (Tons of utility options with a great defensive typing. Should slot in nicely on many balance and stall teams, which are play styles that could really use a boon or two in C:SI at the moment.)
4. Oatu (Cool typing, quality stats, and an evolution of my favorite bird-mon, good stuff. Has great potential as a status-absorber thanks to Expel plus the inability of most sleepers to do much to it.)
5. Tangalow (Has some pretty awesome potential give its seemingly limited movepool. This thing could possibly even threaten non-Sleep Talk Snorlax with Sleep Powder/Reflect/Growth/STAB move.)
6. Girafonaut (An OU Super Fang-user would be rad, and I love the combination of that with moves like Black Hole and Nightmare. Also some pretty solid potential here as an Amnesia-passer for BP teams).
7. Enchantler (EQ + Cosmic STAB sounds like a fun combo. Not a huge fan of slapping signature moves like Megahorn on new mons, feels kind of… un-GSC. But, we’ve already crossed that bridge.)
8. Ledeamer (A mixed attacker with great SpD, pretty neat. Cross Chop plus dual STABs seems like the way to go for offensive variants. Barrier and/or Agility passing should be plenty viable, too.)
9. Astecrashic (A fast, Normal-resistant Sacred Candle-user? Good stuff. Seems like a great way to force Snorlax out, or at least force it to Rest, without truly threatening it. Solid coverage options, too.)
10. Combobot (Would be neat to see an OU Mach Punch-user, but it seems a little tough to get this mon in safely. Also hard-countered by many Psychic-types, though I suppose it could run HP Dark/Ghost.

Work!
1. Ledeamer [y'all know I love Ledian so nothing else compares to the immense sadness I experienced when I could not do one]
2. Girafronaut [super fang is dope and it gets a lot of tools to take advantage of it. will play like nothing else in the tier]
3. Altocumulus [kinda like a 2-for-1 Pokemon so that's neat. adds a new dragon to the tier which surprisingly hasn't happened yet]
4. Pilontler [this abomination shouldn't work as well as it does, but it does and it's cool]
5. Enchantler [Stantler can be a Pokemon now]
6. Gravilime [sick dual typing. just think it would be cool.]
7. Yueffmicro [cool utility mon with a phenomenal typing]
8. Astrolian [it's Ledian so i have to like it]
9. Wyrmhole [dragon borat could be an interesting win condition]
10. Tangalow [I wish it got some stuff to use SD with cause it could be a pretty cool user of that move. Tangela can be a Pokemon now.]
11. Comobot [cool options, nice typing, lots to like here]
12. Constellagon [not sure what this does]
13. Oatu [also not sure what this does]
14. Astecrashic [also not sure what this does]
15. Lunaraknid [might be a little overoptimized as a set up mon]
16. Porygon-A [it's bad porygon-z so it's kinda boring from a creativity end]

I find it bizarre that the gif result for retyped Pokémon and moves feature Ledian yet Ledian didn’t become a Cosmic-type, that’s why I went to create Ledeamer.
  1. Enchantler
  2. Ledeamer (SV)
  3. Altocumulus
  4. Pilonther
  5. Girafonaut
  6. Porygon-A
  7. Luraknid

9. Combobot
10. Astecrashic

We've lost the tier's best Machamp check now that Starmie doesn't resist Cross Chop. Yes Kamebi exists, but it's outsped. Therefore, I'm voting highly on Oatu and Girafonaut (plus I think they're great)

Through your independent research projects, you've discovered three new Cosmic-type Pokémon! Some are evolutions of already existing, and some are rare never before seen Pokémon...
~~~~~~~~~~
Here are your new Cosmic-type Pokémon!
Oatu discovered by Gekokeso
Hype slate, I hope we can all agree to gentleman pact of not submitting the eeveelution (at least until anyone on the discord is able to see it and comment on it)
For now,
:Xatu:
Pokémon Name: Oatu (-Atu but with o, can be interpreted as the o from oracle or reference to the marvel watcher)
Typing: Psychic/Cosmic
Base Stats: 85 HP / 85 Atk / 70 Def / 115 SpA / 120 SpD / 55 Spe
Height: 10'01"
Weight: 300 lbs
Notable Moves:
Fly
Black Hole, Giga Drain, Psychic, Swift, Thief
Expel, Rest, Toxic
Xatu's Moveset + Expel
Competitive: Oatu serves as a slower but strong cosmic type. In theory this mon could have the option of using both black hole and future sight (you only really use black hole) but the real kicker is its typing. Losing your ground and spikes inmunity and gaining a normal dragon / x4 bug weakness is tough, but Oatu ultimately gains way more from its type change. Losing the rock weakness, turning the ice and electric weaknesses into resists, gaining a fire resistance, a way to threaten out ghost types, and replacing its terrible stab for a way better one more than makes up for what it lost in the transition into the cosmic typing. With such monstrous stats and incredible typing you would expect this Mon to be potentially overbearing, but that's why it's only cosmic moves are the pathetically weak swift and the hard to use black hole, which leaves this Mon to rely on its coverage and way stronger stab to deal damage. There is also the fact that it becomes extremely slower on evo, leaving it as prime target for revenge killing. Overall this totem fella should get a role both as an opposing cosmic type counter and black hole user.
Flavor Justification:
Gold: "Upon evolution, Xatu loses the ability to fly and remains still. Wild Oatus are known to not move for the rest of their lives."
Silver: "Evolution grants Oatu to observe eveything, even stuff that occurs in the most remote places of distant space."
Crystal: "Oatus creates powerful psychic fields around them. Anything found in there gets crushed by its extreme gravity."
Oatu is essentially xatu's body with its legs replaced by a giant log. Since Xatu spends most of its time not moving, i decided to make it so that its evo straight up made it not move at all in order to access total spacial awareness
Lunaraknid discovered by Stonecat
:Ariados:
Concept: Ariados Evolution
Pokémon Name: Lunaraknid (lunar + arachnid)
Typing: Bug/Cosmic
Base Stats: 80 HP / 90 Atk / 70 Def / 120 SpA / 80 SpD / 90 Spe (BST 530)
Height: 4’06”
Weight: 92.4 lbs
Notable Moves:
Swarm Attack, Sludge Bomb, +Preying Swipe, Hidden Power
+Swift, Psychic, +Crunch, Pursuit, Giga Drain, Solar Beam, Thief, Hidden Power
+Moonlight, Spider Web, Baton Pass, Agility, Growth, Curse, Screech, Toxic, Sunny Day
Learns the above moves plus: Poison Sting, String Shot, Scary Face, Constrict, Night Shade, Leech Life, Fury Swipes, Disable, Psybeam, Sonic Boom, Snore, Hyper Beam, Protect, Endure, Frustration, Return, Dig, Double Team, Swagger, Sleep Talk, Rest, Attract, Flash.
As a note, the following move combinations are illegal due to being mutually-exclusive egg moves and/or event moves:
Baton Pass + SonicBoom
Disable + Pursuit
Disable + SonicBoom
Psybeam + Pursuit
Psybeam + SonicBoom
Baton Pass + Growth
Disable + Growth
Psybeam + Growth
Pursuit + Growth
SonicBoom + Growth
Competitive:
Lunaraknid seeks to finally grant the Ariados line some competitive viability with its buffed stats, relatively diverse movepool, and good typing. With the Bug/Cosmic typing, it only has four weaknesses including Dragon, Flying, Rock, and Bug. At the moment, Dragon and Flying coverage are pretty rare, so Lunaraknid mostly just has to watch out for Rock and Bug moves unless/until the metagame shifts.
After running calcs and tinkering with its stats, Lunaraknid’s matchups look something like this…
Threatens well- Kipuro, Meganium, Starmie, Alakazam, Kamebi, Exeggutor*, Jynx*, Nidoking* ( * meaning sleep is the main or only threat to Lunaraknid)
Threatens decently- Machamp, Tentacruel, Pyronoir, Gengar*, Kazappelin*, Muk*, Skunking* ( * meaning Lunaraknid is favored, but the foe can choose to trade with Explosion).
Variable matchups-
*Zapdos, Raikou (threatened by Cosmic STAB, but threaten Thunder paralysis in return)
*Rhydon, Golem (2HKO’d by a Lunaraknid HP Water/Grass)
*Exoltol, Quagsire (2HKO’d by HP Grass)
*Scizor, Forretress (2HKO’d by HP Fire)
*Steelix, Skarmory, Horatekku (3HKO’d by HP Fire, also by HP Water for Steelix)
*Umbreon (Swarm Attack 2HKO’s, but Umbreon can use Charm and then heal off the damage if it has enough time)
*Sandslash (3HKO’s Lunaraknid with Rock Slide, but is outsped and 2-3HKO’d by HP Ice/Water/Grass)
Threatened by- Snorlax, Aerodactyl, Terricks, Tyranitar, Aroofaondo, Charizard, Moltres, Heracross, Pierzer, Blissey (with Toxic), Miltank, Suicune, Vaporeon.
To throw a few thoughts out there regarding the above, Lunaraknid having mostly good matchups against both Kipuro and Machamp should only help the metagame. At the moment, Kipuro can be a bear for teams to overcome if they don’t bring specific mons or coverage to deal with it, so Lunaraknid would be another possible weapon in the arsenal of those teams to overcome it, while also offering plenty of utility to check other mons. Additionally, with the conversion of Starmie to Water/Cosmic type, Machamp has become an even larger menace, as vanilla Starmie was by far its biggest check. Thankfully, Lunaraknid is able to check Machamp fairly well, outspeeding and 3HKOing it (42.5-50.1%) with non-STAB Psychic while shrugging off Cross Chop and Earthquake in return. Lunaraknid does have a small chance (0.7%) of being 2HKO’d by Machamp’s Rock Slide (45.4-53.4%) with Leftovers, but it can play around that by running Draining Relic or Sevii Sundae to restore more health if it wants to. Rock Slide also has 90% accuracy, so it’s not unreasonable to fish for a miss in the 1v1 if necessary.
As far as movesets go, Lunaraknid has a myriad of options. Swarm Attack and Swift provide STAB, Psychic is great coverage for Fighting and Poison-types, Crunch can deal big damage to Psychic and Ghost-types plus has a chance to drop SpD, Pursuit and Preying Swipe let it hit its targets on the way out, any of Hidden Power Water, Grass, or Fire let it check certain mons that would otherwise wall it, and even Giga Drain has a niche as a slightly less powerful version of HP Grass with the benefits of restoring health and not losing bulk from reduced DVs. Additionally, Lunaraknid has access to instant HP recovery with Moonlight (though, keep in mind that 8 PP won’t last forever), can trap foes with Spider Web, can setup with any of Agility, Growth, and/or Curse, and can even pass Agility or Curse boosts, or just generally pivot around well with, Baton Pass. Tons of options here, so Lunaraknid can provide whatever kind of specific support your team needs.
Flavor Justification:
Pokédex entry- Lunaraknid traps its prey in huge webs that it makes in open spaces. It does so because it has an affinity for the light of the moon.
Ariados evolves into Lunaraknid by using a Moon Stone, and as such, the source of its newfound cosmic powers is the moon. They are largely nocturnal Pokémon that hunt their prey under the light of the moon. The more full it is, the more vicious they become. During full moons, they become so aggressive and voracious that people in towns with a nearby population of Lunaraknids won’t even leave their houses once night falls. They make large webs in open spaces, such as fields, so that they can bask under the light of the moon, using those webs to both passively trap new prey and to store any prey that they catch while actively hunting.
Weight: 55 kg
Notable Moves:
Draconic Drive, Fire Blast, Thunder, Blizzard…
+Encore, Rest, Sleep Talk, Thunder Wave…
+ = Added move
- = Removed move
Dragonite's Moveset - Dynamic Punch, - Fury Cutter, - Extreme Speed
Cumulos and Altocumulos are a very rare species of Pokémon. They move through the clouds, and are most active at night. It is said that, in the wild, Cumulos only evolve into Altocumulos after going on an treacherous journey to the moon! There are legends that the moon grants special powers to Altocumulos, and afterwards, it is their responsibility to maintain the Earth by purifying polluted air.
Competitively, Altocumulos would explore a different route for a Dragon-type as a slow bulkier build with reliable recovery. Cumulos, on the other hand, would work as a frail fast offensive mon with disrupting capabilities.
What's Next for Crystal: Sevii Islands?
:skuntank::qwilfish::pinsir:
To round off our Cosmic slate, we will be running a short Cosmic-type move slate! This will be to implement reliable STAB for the Cosmic-type. So far we have Swift and Tri Attack as Cosmic-type attacks. With Tri Attack’s damage and secondary effect, it proves to be a pretty spammable move as it’s no longer Normal-type. This slate will be opened soon, but please feel free to share ideas in our Discord in the meantime!
After our move slate, we will be having a tournament! This tour will be a sign up based tour and will be focused on playtesting. In a setting like that, we will really be able to see what kinds of things we need to implement/change to maintain a healthy meta. More details will be announced during the new move slate!
Special Announcement!
With great honor, we’d like to congratulate Gekokeso for joining the Crystal: Sevii Islands Council!
Through all of your focused research on the Cosmic-type, it is now fully recognized by the Poké Research Bureau! It is now your job to analyze the newly discovered Pokémon to research and classify new moves. Many researchers have been conducting research on Eevee to gauge whether or not it interacts with the Cosmic-type. Please study Eevee and post your conclusions for review...
~~~~~~~~~~
:sylveon:Prompt: Your task is to discover new Cosmic-type moves and develop collaborative research surrounding a possible Eeveelution!

- Moves can be submitted in two categories: Flavor and Competitive
If certain move submissions have great overlap, someone from the Council will reach out to the submitters on the potential of a collaborative sub!

- Eeveelution submissions will work like this: You can submit a full Eeveelution, or just submit part of it – Flavor or Competitive
Flavor: Name, Height/Weight, and Evolution Method
Competitive: Stats and Movepool

Voting will be for the categories so we can combine the best ideas together to create one final Eeveelution.

Since new moves will also be in the works this slate, when voting is open, there will be options to decide whether a new move should be distributed to the Eeveelution.

Stats values can only consist of: 60, 65, 65, 95, 110, and 130 (This is how the stats for all Eeveelutions work.)

Cosmic types were getting a lit too comfortable as a way to check electrics that didn't get eviserated by hidden powers. As such, this coverage move shall exist as an option for electric types to use to get the jump on unsuspecting cosmic mons that thought they had an easy switch on them. It also has the side efect of just being a generally good moves for electric types to check each other, especially on amphy who was still waiting for a cosmic stab of its own. Zapdos and Raikou can certainly try to fit this but that just makes them ground food, even if the ability to win 1v1 against opossing version of themselves and cosmic mons is pretty tempting.

The user channels the power of celestial bodies to attack the target with a beam of light.
This works as a general strong Cosmic-type STAB. Much like the Rock-type, I believe strong Cosmic-type attacks should have a drawback like lowered accuracy.

Stelleon would work as a more physically defensive based Cosmic-type. It has high attack and Swords Dance and which potentially allows it to run physical Hidden Powers for coverage.

Flavorly, Stelleon would be star themed. This relates it to Umbreon and Espeon to create a pseudo trifecta. Sun, Moon, and Star. (Yes, the sun is a star, but you know what I mean.)

A day in gen 2 is split into 3 parts, Morning, Day and Night, with Espeon evolving only during Day and Umbreon evolving only during night, I think it would make sense to have an Eeveelution that evolves in the morning.
Competitively, despite having a not so amazing learnset, Aetheon still hits the tier hard with its 110 special attack combining with reliable Cosmic STABs and Hidden Powers. Defensively, it can chunk attacks with 130 defense(the only 130 stat that the eevlutions are missing).

Good recovery if you don’t fancy running rest.
Stellar Stockpile has been vetoed. This is due to the fact that it invalidates one of the few tools to bypass stall/walls - Toxic. This would especially be problematic on the Eeveelutions like Vaporeon for example. This also has overlap with Moonlight/Morning Sun which are newly Cosmic-type moves that are intended to have a higher distribution to Cosmic-types.

Move Name: Magnetic Waves
Typing: Cosmic-type
BP: 80
PP: 24
Accuracy: -
Secondary Effects: Has 10% chance of paralysing the target.
Suggested Distribution: :ampharos: :zapdos: :raichu: Basically every fully evolved cosmic type :raikou: :jolteon: :electabuzz:

Move Name: Celesital Beam
Typing: Cosmic-type
BP: 90
PP: 16
Accuracy: 90%
Secondary Effects: None.
Suggested Distribution: Altocumulus (Replacing Tri Attack), Lunaraknid, Clefable, Ampharos, Stantler, Tangela, Oatu

This works as a general strong Cosmic-type STAB. Much like the Rock-type, I believe strong Cosmic-type attacks should have a drawback like lowered accuracy.

Submission Category: Flavor
Name: Comet Crash
Typing: Cosmix
BP: 100
PP: 12
Accuracy: 80
Secondary Effects: The user may also gain a random stat boost. (Think Ancient Power, but for a single stat! 30% chance?) The user suffers recoil if the move misses.

Suggested Distribution: :Cosmic Eeveelution: :steelix:, :miltank: :starmie: :oatu: :lunarakrid:
Description:

“The user launches themselves in the air before ramming into the target with the force of a comet.”

With elements of Ancient Power and High Jump Kick, This move serves as a hard hitting but risky move that gives a few pokemon listed above a powerful STAB move.
