UU Crobat

[OVERVIEW]
Crobat acts as a fast offensive pivot thanks to its incredible natural Speed, allowing it to outspeed fast offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Zygarde-10%, Keldeo, and Noivern. Crobat can make use of its high Speed and offensive pivoting with STAB Brave Bird and U-turn to outlast checks such as Nihilego and Rotom-W, making it threatening to many common team styles. Taunt prevents would-be checks like Salamence, Skarmory, Hippowdon, and Chansey from recovering while also preventing the latter two and Amoonguss from using status moves. While Crobat's Poison / Flying typing allows it to switch in on Grass- and Fighting-type attacks from Pokemon like Zarude, Amoonguss, and Conkeldurr, it must beware switching directly into a status move like Stun Spore or Spore from Amoonguss, or strong attacks like Darkest Lariat from Zarude and Knock Off and Facade from Conkeldurr. Furthermore, Crobat's average bulk makes it struggle to switch in on strong attacks from offensive Pokemon like Hydreigon, Azelf, and Zygarde-10%. Crobat's lack of relevant resistances also makes it fear moves from Pokemon it would otherwise check, such as Facade from Conkeldurr and Hydro Pump from Keldeo. Lastly, Crobat is dependent on Heavy-Duty Boots to be effective, forcing it to play carefully against Knock Off users like Diggersby and Scizor. This flaw also forces Crobat to think twice about switching into Knock Off users it would otherwise counter like Tangrowth.

[SET COMMENTS]

Brave Bird allows Crobat to maintain offensive presence with a strong STAB attack, threatening heavy damage on fast, frail offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Zygarde-10%, and Keldeo. U-turn lets Crobat escape Pokemon it cannot meaningfully damage, like Jirachi and Celesteela. U-turn also wears down switch-ins and offensive checks like Rotom-W, Thundurus-T, Raikou, and Nihilego, allowing Crobat to beat them long-term. Roost keeps Crobat healthy, allowing it to last in long games, beat bulky threats like defensive Salamence and Chansey one-on-one, and utilize its typing to switch into Zarude. Roost can also be used to remove Crobat's Flying typing for a turn, reducing its damage from moves like Volt Switch from Rotom-W and Rotom-H and Stone Edge from Cobalion. Roost also helps compensate for the recoil damage Crobat takes from using Brave Bird. Taunt lets Crobat shut down status moves from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Chansey, as well as healing attempts from Pokemon like Salamence and Skarmory. Even if Crobat itself does not fear Toxic from Pokemon like Chansey and Hippowdon, its teammates may appreciate Taunt shutting down the threat of Toxic after they switch in. Taunt can also prevent Defog attempts from Pokemon like Salamence and Mandibuzz. Inner Focus is the preferred ability, as it prevents Salamence from lowering Crobat's Attack with Intimidate upon switch-in, and it additionally makes Crobat immune to flinches from attacks like Choice Scarf Hydreigon's Dark Pulse and +1 Speed Jolly Gyarados's Waterfall. Maximum Speed investment and Jolly are necessary to keep Adamant Dragon Dance Gyarados and Adamant Choice Scarf Diggersby in check.

Crobat pairs well with other pivots like Zarude, Thundurus-T, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W to keep momentum up. These can also bring Crobat in safely against targets like Amoonguss, reducing Crobat's need to use Roost often. Rotom-H and Rotom-W make particularly good partners, as Crobat appreciates them checking Mamoswine and Steel-types like Scizor and Celesteela. Ground-type teammates like Hippowdon and Excadrill absorb Electric- and Rock-type moves aimed at Crobat from Pokemon like Rotom-H and Nihilego, respectively. Knock Off absorbers like Amoonguss and Tangrowth prevent Crobat from losing its Heavy-Duty Boots. Amoonguss and Tangrowth can also check Electric-types like Thundurus-T and Raikou for Crobat. Wallbreakers like Choice Specs Hydreigon and Keldeo pair well with Crobat, as Crobat can bring them in against Pokemon like Rotom-W and Celesteela with U-turn.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============
Inflitrator can be used instead of Inner Focus to allow Crobat to bypass Substitute, preventing Pokemon like SubCM Keldeo and Primarina from getting a safe hit on Crobat from behind a Substitute. Defog can be used over Taunt to make Crobat an entry hazard remover. However, foregoing Taunt limits Crobat's offensive potency and stops it from keeping Stealth Rock off the field against some common setters, like Cobalion, Hippowdon, and Nihilego. Hypnosis can be used in the final moveslot to cripple switch-ins, although it suffers from low accuracy and opportunity cost in not using the more reliable Taunt. A set of Nasty Plot, Sludge Bomb, Heat Wave, and Roost can be used to break through Crobat's usual Steel-type checks, and it provides excellent Fire / Poison coverage against most of the UU tier. This set is particularly effective against bulkier teams due to the aforementioned coverage, Crobat's reliable recovery, and its Toxic immunity. However, this set can be hard to justify over Crobat's usual utility. In addition, Crobat's base Special Attack is low, so this set usually requires multiple Nasty Plot uses to break through its targets. Finally, Super Fang could be used over U-turn and alongside Taunt to weaken sturdy Crobat checks like Celesteela for its teammates. This turns Crobat into a dangerous stallbreaker.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-types**: Steel-types like Celesteela, Skarmory, and Jirachi take very little damage from Brave Bird and can hinder Crobat. Skarmory can lose one-on-one against Crobat due to Taunt preventing it from healing with Roost, but it would still damage Crobat significantly in the process, especially if Skarmory is holding a Rocky Helmet. Cobalion does not resist Brave Bird, but it's never 2HKOed thanks to its great physical bulk, and it can threaten Crobat with Stone Edge or Volt Switch and chip it with Rocky Helmet as well. Scizor also does not resist Brave Bird and does not like switching into it, but it can revenge kill a weakened Crobat with Bullet Punch.

**Knock Off**: Crobat's reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots makes Knock Off a giant threat to its longevity, making it dangerous to switch into Pokemon like Tangrowth and Krookodile, which would otherwise be less threatening.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types like Raikou, Thundurus-T, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H resist Crobat's Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage or OHKOs on it. They can be worn down over time with repeated hits, however, and are not safe switch-ins at low HP.

**Rock-types**: Rock-types like Nihilego, Lycanroc-D, and Rhyperior resist Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage on Crobat. Rhyperior in particular stonewalls Crobat. While Lycanroc-D and especially Nihilego take more damage from Brave Bird and must be more careful about switching into Crobat, they can survive a hit from it and revenge kill in return. Lycanroc-D also has priority Accelerock to prevent Crobat from hitting it first.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Hippowdon and Swampert can take repeated hits from Crobat without fearing a KO. Swampert can use Flip Turn to pivot into a Pokemon that can threaten Crobat, while Hippowdon mandates Taunt use with Slack Off and forces sand chip damage. Both can also hit Crobat with a super effective Earthquake if it is forced to use Roost, and Hippowdon can potentially punish Brave Bird and U-turn with Rocky Helmet. Hippowdon will usually fail to beat Taunt Crobat one-on-one, but Rocky Helmet and sand can significantly chip Crobat in the process. Slowking can also comfortably take a Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage with Psychic.

Paragraph 1
  • Brave Bird allows Crobat to maintain offensive presence with a strong STAB attack, threatening heavy damage on fast, frail offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Zygarde-10%, and Keldeo
  • U-Turn maintains momentum against Pokemon Crobat cannot meaningfully damage like Skarmory and Celesteela, and against Pokemon that threaten Crobat like Lycanroc-Dusk and Nihilego
  • Roost keeps Crobat healthy and can potentially be used to remove its Flying typing for a turn, allowing Crobat to take less damage from moves like Volt Switch from Rotom formes -W and Rotom-H and Stone Edge from Cobalion
  • Taunt prevents Defog attempts from hazard removers like Mandibuzz and Salamence
  • Taunt also stops attempts to cripple Crobat with status conditions, such as Spore from Amoonguss and Thunder Wave from Chansey and Slowking
  • Taunt additionally prevents healing attempts from passive Pokemon like Chansey and Mandibuzz, allowing Crobat to beat them 1v1
  • Taunt lets Crobat prevent status moves from Amoonguss and Chansey while also shutting down healing attempts from Mandibuzz and Slowking. It can also be used to prevent Defog attempts from Salamence some rewording to help the moves flow better
  • Defog can be used over Taunt to allow Crobat to act as a hazard remover

  • The given bulk investment allows Crobat to survive two Darkest Lariats from Zarude
  • The given Speed investment outspeeds base 115 Speed Pokemon in Azelf, Zygarde-10%, and Raikou
  • The spread lets it take two Darkest Lariats from Zarude and outspeed base 115 Speed Pokemon like Starmie and Raikou same reasoning as above
Paragraph 2
  • Crobat pairs well with other VoltTurn teammates like Zarude, Thundurus-Therian, and Rotom to keep momentum up. Crobat appreciates Rotom checking Mamoswine as well potentially running Defog to let Crobat run Taunt.
  • Ground-type teammates are appreciated to absorb Electric- and Rock-type moves aimed at Crobat bring up an example like Excadrill which can also remove hazards
  • Knock Off absorbers like Amoonguss and Tangrowth are appreciated to prevent Crobat from losing its Heavy-Duty Boots
  • A Defog user like Rotom can take hazard removal pressure off Crobat, allowing it to run a move other than Defog in its last slot already brought up twice above with my comments
  • Crobat checks Fighting-types like Conkeldurr and Keldeo well, so Pokemon that appreciate the removal of these, like Mamoswine and Choice Specs Hydreigon, make good partners bring up how they also can get free entry from u-turn

=============
  • A set of Nasty Plot, Air Slash/Hurricane Sludge Bomb sb is typically better because of accuracy + poison, Heat Wave, and Roost can be used to allow Crobat to break through its usual Steel-type checks, but it can be hard to justify over Crobat's usual utility
  • Hypnosis can be used in the final slot to cripple switch-ins. This should only be used when hazard control exists elsewhere on the team.
  • Super Fang could be used to weaken sturdy checks for Crobat's teammates.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Steel-Types**: Steel-types like Celesteela, Skarmory, and Jirachi without a secondary type that makes them neutral to Flying take very little damage from Brave Bird and can set up on Crobat. coba should be brought up here since even though it doesn't resist Flying, it can handle brave bird and remove it with SD Stone Edge or pivot out

**Choice Scarf Users**: Choice Scarf users like Diggersby, Darmanitan Rotom-W, and Hydreigon outspeed Crobat and threaten heavy damage or OHKOs on it with their STAB moves.

**Status**: Paralysis and Sleep utterly ruin Crobat's utility as a fast offensive pivot. Pokemon that Crobat would otherwise beat like Amoonguss and Tangrowth can still cripple it with status if Crobat has not Taunted used Taunt on them. gp tip: don't use moves as verbs Scald burns from Pokemon like Tentacruel and Primarina, while not as debilitating, also reduce Crobat's effectiveness as a pivot by limiting its damage output and forcing it to use Roost to keep healthy.

**Knock Off**: Crobat relies on Heavy-Duty Boots to perform its pivoting duties, since it will take 25% damage every time it switches into Stealth Rocks without them. we know this Knock Off therefore is a giant threat to Crobat's longevity, and makes it dangerous for Crobat to switch into Pokemon like Tangrowth and Tentacruel that would otherwise be less threatening.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types like Raikou, Thundurus-Therian, and Rotom-H resist Crobat's Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage or OHKOs on it with their Electric STAB. They can be worn down or OHKO'd over time with repeated hits, however, and are not safe switch-ins at low HP.

**Rock-types**: Rock-types like Nihilego, Lycanroc-Dusk, and Rhyperior also resist Brave Bird and threaten heavy OHKOs on Crobat with their Rock STAB. Rhyperior in particular totally stonewalls Crobat, taking very little damage from Brave Bird. Nihilego and Lycanroc-Dusk take more damage and must be more careful about switching into Crobat, but can survive a hit from it and revenge KO in return. Lycanroc-Dusk also has priority Accelerock to prevent Crobat from hitting it first.

**Physically bulky tanks/walls Defensive Pokemon**: Pokemon with good physical bulk like Hippowdon and Swampert can take repeated hits from Crobat without fearing a KO. Swampert can threaten Crobat with Scald burns or Ice Beam, while Hippowdon can outlast Crobat thanks to Slack Off and sandstorm chip damage. mention that Hippowdon can deal massive damage with earthquake on a roost and rocky helmet since that is the prefered item on hippo rn

**Rocky Helmet users**: While most Rocky Helmet users don't resist Crobat's Brave Bird, they punish it for its pivot attempts with U-Turn and its Brave Bird attacks. Skarmory deserves special mention for resisting Brave Bird and being able to Roost any damage away. this was already brought up when reworking the other sections

Paragraph 2
  • Crobat pairs well with other pivots VoltTurn teammates like Zarude, Thundurus-T, and Rotom-W to keep momentum up. Rotom-W makes a particularly good partner, as Crobat appreciates Rotom-W checking Mamoswine and potentially running Defog, allowing Crobat to run Taunt in its last moveslot more freely. specify which rotom you are talking about with correct formatting. also expand more on this point, what else can these Pokemon cover? Zarude blanks Hippo and Slowking while thundurus pressures celesteela, mention this
  • Ground-type teammates like Hippowdon and Excadrill are appreciated to absorb Electric- and Rock-type moves aimed at Crobat. Excadrill can also take hazard removal pressure off of Crobat by running Rapid Spin.
  • Knock Off absorbers like Amoonguss and Tangrowth are appreciated to prevent Crobat from losing its Heavy-Duty Boots. add how they check electric-types like Raikou and Thundurus-T for Crobat

Checks and Counters
===================

**Bulky Steel-Types**: Steel-types like Celesteela, Skarmory, and Jirachi without a secondary type that makes them neutral to Flying take very little damage from Brave Bird and can hinder set up on Crobat. acknowledge that skarm loses in a 1v1 because of taunt but discourages the use of brave bird and can chip it into using roost more if it has its helmet. Cobalion does not resist Brave Bird, but is never 2HKO'd by it thanks to its great physical bulk, and can threaten Crobat with Stone Edge or Volt Switch. Scizor also does not resist Brave Bird, and does not like switching into it, but Scizor can revenge kill a weakened Crobat with invalidate Crobat's Speed advantage by using Bullet Punch.

**Choice Scarf Users**: Choice Scarf users like Diggersby, Rotom-W, and Hydreigon outspeed Crobat and threaten heavy damage or OHKOs on it with their STAB moves.

just feels unnecessary here

**Status**: Paralysis and Sleep utterly ruin Crobat's utility as a fast offensive pivot. Pokemon that Crobat would otherwise beat like Amoonguss and Tangrowth can still cripple it with status if Crobat has not used Taunt on them. Scald burns from Pokemon like Tentacruel and Primarina, while not as debilitating, also reduce Crobat's effectiveness as a pivot by limiting its damage output and forcing it to use Roost to keep healthy.

most stuff don't really reliably status crobat, stuff with scald you aren't trying to 1v1/switch into. Twave isn't that common and usually you taunt amoonguss or go on a 100% not spore. It's not like Hippo where stuff it actually checks lures it with Toxic, just extra info to remove

**Knock Off**: Crobat relies on Heavy-Duty Boots to perform its pivoting duties. Knock Off therefore is a giant threat to Crobat's longevity, and makes it dangerous for Crobat to switch into Pokemon like Tangrowth and Krookodile Tentacruel that would otherwise be less threatening.

**Electric-types**: Electric-types like Raikou, Thundurus-T, Rotom-W, and Rotom-H resist Crobat's Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage or OHKOs on it with their Electric STAB. They can be worn down over time with repeated hits, however, and are not safe switch-ins at low HP.

**Rock-types**: Rock-types like Nihilego, Lycanroc-D, and Rhyperior also resist Brave Bird and threaten heavy OHKOs on Crobat with their Rock STAB. Rhyperior in particular totally stonewalls Crobat, and while taking very little damage from Brave Bird. Nihilego and Lycanroc-D take more damage and must be more careful about switching into Crobat, they but can survive a hit from it and revenge KO in return. Lycanroc-D also has priority Accelerock to prevent Crobat from hitting it first.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Hippowdon and Swampert can take repeated hits from Crobat without fearing a KO. Swampert can threaten Crobat with Scald burns or Ice Beam, on the analysis scald nor ice beam is on the main set so they should not be mentioned. Instead say how it can grab momentum with flip turn into an offensive threat. while Hippowdon can outlast Crobat thanks to Slack Off and sandstorm chip damage. Both can also hit Crobat with a super effective Earthquake if it is forced to Roost, and Hippowdon can potentially punish Brave Bird and U-Turn from Crobat if Hippowdown is holding a Rocky Helmet. bring up slowking here, it can eat a hit and deal heavy damage with Psychic

amateur check, defer to qc, bat INNNNNN, what a great piece of writing despite mylong comments, it's more of me taking a long time to say something short. What i like most about this analysis is all the partner and usage sections, they are so spot on imo.

substantively the main thing is double checking the ev spread I think and I really don't know about including skarm and hippo as counters since technically crobat can counter them with taunt which is standard

[OVERVIEW]
  • Crobat acts as a fast offensive pivot and speed control thanks to its incredible natural Speed, allowing it to outspeed fast offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Zygarde-10%, and Raikou.
  • Crobat can provide utility in Taunt or Defog to support its team, preventing entry hazards from being set up or removing ones already on the field.
  • Taunt also allows Crobat to check Pokemon reliant on status to threaten it, such as Amoonguss and Chansey, and stops bulky threats like Hippowdon and Skarmory from healing, making it great for stallbreaking. I suggest asking QC if you want to keep Chansey as an example because standard analysis Chansey doesn't run Twave and obviously it can't toxic you anyways. Personally, would reword the sentence to make it so the focus of taunt is stopping recovery and then put status second, when you make this in sentence form.
  • Crobat's sky-high natural Speed allows it to invest heavily in bulk and Attack, letting it act as a switch-in to certain offensive Pokemon it threatens, like Zarude and Conkeldurr.
  • Crobat lacks many relevant resistances, which can make it hard for Crobat to switch into many attacks. Do you want to add examples here? You could do this in three ways I see 1) examples of neutral/se moves you can't switch into (keldeo, hydreigon), 2) examples of types you resist (only resisting fighting and...), 3) examples of types that hit you neutrall/super effective (being hit hard by common water, dark...). I get why you didn't add examples initially, it's harder to have examples of the negative, can ask QC for input on this
  • Crobat is dependent on Heavy-Duty Boots to be effective, forcing it to play carefully against run from Knock Off users, including ones it would otherwise check counter like Tangrowth and Mandibuzz. Two things here - 1) I don't think crobat really runs away from tangrowth, it still often stays in vs it and loses boots, it's not like people switch in tangrowth as crobat roosts/taunts and then crobat is scared (most of the time). so I just reworded it to "play carefully against" which seems more accurate. Secondly, Crobat wouldn't really counter mandibuzz since mandi does 40 on average to your set with foul play, forcing crobat to roost too much and not be able to taunt mandibuzz enough. I put in "check" over counter, but honestly, you don't even beat mandibuzz 1v1 so you don't check it either - can ask QC to drop mandibuzz mention or find an even softer phrase than check (softly check?)

I suggest shifting 4 evs to atk here.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
  • Brave Bird allows Crobat to maintain offensive presence with a strong STAB attack, threatening heavy damage on fast, frail offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Zygarde-10%, and Keldeo.
  • U-Turn maintains momentum against Pokemon Crobat cannot meaningfully damage like Skarmory Jirachi and Celesteela, and against Pokemon that threaten Crobat like Lycanroc-D Thundurus and Nihilego. - I changed your examples here because Skarmory usually uses helmet and you often don't want to u-turn on it anyways (but it is more relevant than jirachi and you can often knock it off, so can make an argument to keep skarm), thundurus is more relevant than rock doge, which also accelrocks you so you often don't wanna uturn anyways). Consider adding a bullet point or another sentence in this bullet to say that U-Turn can be used against predicted switches? That leads into the mons you can't meaningfully damage, but if you read this sentence at face value, what it says is you use uturn on mons you have bad MU with, in practice, you know you often use it versus mons you have good MU on like zarude and tang to generate momentum.
  • Roost keeps Crobat healthy and can potentially be used to remove its Flying typing for a turn, allowing Crobat to take less damage from moves like Volt Switch from Rotom-W and Rotom-H and Stone Edge from Cobalion.
  • Taunt lets Crobat prevent the use of status moves from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Chansey while also shutting down healing attempts from Pokemon like Mandibuzz and Skarmory. It can also be used to prevent Defog attempts from Pokemon like Salamence and Mandibuzz. Again, double check with QC to include chansey bc standard chansey doesn't use twave. you could also explain (and use hippo as an example) that prevent them from toxicing can be useful even though crobat can't be toxiced because it allows crobat to bring in another mon without fear of status.
  • Defog can be used over Taunt to allow Crobat to act as a hazard remover. However, foregoing Taunt limits Crobat's offensive potency, and Crobat is unable to keep Stealth Rocks off the field against some common setters, like Cobalion and Nihilego.
  • Inner Focus is the preferred ability, as it prevents Salamence from lowering Crobat's Attack with Intimidate upon switch-in, and has the additional benefit of making Crobat immune to flinch attempts from Pokemon like Choice Scarf Jirachi and Autotomize Celesteela.
  • The EV spread lets Crobat take two Darkest Lariats from Zarude and outspeed base 115 Speed Pokemon like Azelf, Starmie, Raikou, and Zygarde-10%.
  • Crobat can also opt for a spread of 20 HP / 140 Atk / 148 Def / 200 Spe to outspeed Noivern for teams that are otherwise weak to it. Ask QC if you should include these speed benchmarks as well: 212 Speed beats Ada scarf diggersby (higher than noivern on VR but not all diggers are scarf ada), 244 beats ada +1 gyara (same as noivern on VR but again not all gyara are 252 ada), 252 (just max to tie crobat) - I think 212 speed is the one to go for btw (taking the extra 12 from attack). I also think it's worth not caring about zarude and dumping the def into attack and hp, you still can always uturn on zarude even if it 2hkos you, which is a roll anyways after dumping into hp. remember to keep the 4 sr switch in hp evs.
Paragraph 2
  • Crobat pairs well with other pivots like Zarude, Thundurus-T, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W to keep momentum up. Rotom-H and Rotom-W make particularly good partners, as Crobat appreciates their checking Mamoswine and most Steel-types and potentially running Defog, allowing Crobat to run Taunt in its last moveslot more freely. think it's worth saying they MU well vs most steels which annoy crobat even if crobat can taunt skarm. if you want an example of steel you can stay celesteela and skarm but I don;t think it's necessary, this sentence already has quite a few pokemon names
Tangrowth and Amoonguss can also check Electric-types like Thundurus-T and Raikou for Crobat.
  • Crobat checks Fighting-types like Conkeldurr and Keldeo, so Pokemon that appreciate the removal of these, like Mamoswine and Hydreigon, make good partners. Crobat can also bring these Pokemon in against predicted switches with U-Turn. In return, these Pokemon can break through bulky Pokemon like Skarmory and Slowking for Crobat.

=============
  • Inflitrator can be used instead of Inner Focus to allow Crobat to bypass Substitutes, preventing Pokemon like Substitute + Calm Mind Keldeo and Substitute + Calm Mind Primarina from getting a safe hit on Crobat from behind a Substitute.
  • A set of Nasty Plot, Sludge Bomb, Heat Wave, and Roost can be used to allow Crobat to break through its usual Steel-type checks, but it can be hard to justify over Crobat's usual utility. In addition, Crobat's base Special Attack is low, so this set usually requires multiple Nasty Plots to break through its targets.
  • Hypnosis can be used in the final slot to cripple switch-ins. This should only be used when hazard control exists elsewhere on the team. Can you find a way to elegantly mention it's low accuracy and bigger picture: you've been saying taunt is the main move if hazard control can be fit in paragraph 2, so i think you should also mention here when you use it over taunt (idk honestly?)
  • Super Fang could be used to weaken sturdy checks like Celesteela for Crobat's teammates.
Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-Types**: Steel-types like Celesteela, Skarmory, and Jirachi take very little damage from Brave Bird and can hinder Crobat. Skarmory can lose one-on-one against Crobat due to Taunt preventing it from healing with Roost, but Crobat can still be chipped significantly by Skarmory in the process of beating it, especially if Skarmory is holding a Rocky Helmet. Cobalion does not resist Brave Bird, but is never 2HKO'd by it thanks to its great physical bulk, and can threaten Crobat with Stone Edge or Volt Switch and chip it with its own Rocky Helmet. Scizor also does not resist Brave Bird, and does not like switching into it, but Scizor can revenge kill a weakened Crobat with Bullet Punch. You mentioned helmet hippo below which is less common than helmet coba, so i put helmet here

**Knock Off**: Crobat relies on Heavy-Duty Boots to perform its pivoting duties. Knock Off therefore is a giant threat to Crobat's longevity, and makes it dangerous for Crobat to switch into Pokemon like Tangrowth and Krookodile that would otherwise be less threatening.

**Rock-types**: Rock-types like Nihilego, Lycanroc-D and Rhyperior also resist Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage on Crobat. Rhyperior in particular stonewalls Crobat, and while Nihilego and Lycanroc-D take more damage and must be more careful about switching into Crobat, they can survive a hit from it and revenge KO in return. Lycanroc-D also has priority Accelerock to prevent Crobat from hitting it first.

**Physically Defensive Pokemon**: Hippowdon and Swampert can take repeated hits from Crobat without fearing a KO. Swampert can use Flip Turn to switch into a Pokemon that can threaten Crobat, while Hippowdon can outlast Crobat thanks to Slack Off and sandstorm chip damage. Both can also hit Crobat with a super effective Earthquake if it is forced to Roost, and Hippowdon can potentially punish Brave Bird and U-Turn from Crobat if Hippowdown it is holding a Rocky Helmet. Hippowdon can lose to Taunt though. Slowking can also comfortably take a Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage with Psychic. Probably worth mentioning since you did it for Skarm too. Not reallly sure you want to include hippo at all since it just loses to standard taunt. i understand you chip it a lot, but crobat always wins the 1v1 so it might be misleading to include it (and skarm) here - ask qc?

Celebiii sorry didn't tag you, I have been quoting people which automatically tags but have been told to use hide tags instead for easier use so I forgot.

[OVERVIEW]
  • Crobat acts as a fast offensive pivot and speed control thanks to its incredible natural Speed, allowing it to outspeed fast offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Zygarde-10%, Noivern, and Raikou. add a line about its ability to use a hit and run tactic to outlast checks like Rotom-W and Nihilego thanks to its high Speed alongside potent offensive potential as an offensive flying-type + U-turn, which makes it threatening to many common teams.
  • Crobat can provide utility in Taunt or Defog to support its team, preventing entry hazards from being set up or removing ones already on the field. extra line, can just add the taunt part stopping entry hazards from being set up after the below changes
  • Taunt also allows Crobat to check Pokemon reliant on status to threaten it or its teammates, such as Amoonguss and Chansey, and stops bulky threats like Hippowdon and Skarmory from healing, making it great for stallbreaking. I suggest asking QC if you want to keep Chansey as an example because standard analysis Chansey doesn't run Twave and obviously it can't toxic you anyways. Personally, would reword the sentence to make it so the focus of taunt is stopping recovery and then put status second, when you make this in sentence form. for here I agree with taunt's first use being to shut down the recovery of bulky threats like Salamence and Skarmory, letting Crobat overcome them, and then talk about it stopping Pokemon that threaten it or its teammates with status like amoonguss, chansey, and hippowdon.
  • Crobat's sky-high natural Speed allows it to invest heavily in bulk and Attack, letting it act as a switch-in to certain offensive Pokemon it threatens, like Zarude and Conkeldurr. since spread is being adjusted to max speed, just talk about its typing letting it be a decent switch-in to Grass- and Fighting-types like Zarude, Amoonguss, and Conkeldurr
  • Crobat lacks many relevant resistances, which can make it hard for Crobat to switch into many attacks. Do you want to add examples here? You could do this in three ways I see 1) examples of neutral/se moves you can't switch into (keldeo, hydreigon), 2) examples of types you resist (only resisting fighting and...), 3) examples of types that hit you neutral/super effective (being hit hard by common water, dark...). I get why you didn't add examples initially, it's harder to have examples of the negative, can ask QC for input on this my view is that you should list common attackers you fail to switch into, can be like "Crobat lacks many relevant resistances, which can make it hard for Crobat to face powerful attackers like Hydreigon, Gyarados, and even fear moves like Facade from Pokemon it would check like Conkeldurr."
I put in "check" over counter, but honestly, you don't even beat mandibuzz 1v1 so you don't check it either - can ask QC to drop mandibuzz mention or find an even softer phrase than check (softly check?) fine with the play carefully against addition but just remove Mandibuzz and reword where it can be "play carefully against Knock Off users like Diggersby and Scizor, including ones it would otherwise counter like Tangrowth."

move 4: Taunt
item: Heavy-Duty Boots

I suggest shifting 4 evs to atk here.

replace with EVs: 108 HP / 148 Atk / 252 Spe, important calc is avoid 2HKO from defensive mence's dual wingbeat and threaten Keldeo with an OHKO most of the time. say max speed is necessary to keep adamant DD gyarados and adamant choice scarf diggersby in check

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
  • Brave Bird allows Crobat to maintain offensive presence with a strong STAB attack, threatening heavy damage on fast, frail offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Zygarde-10%, and Keldeo.
  • U-Turn maintains momentum against Pokemon Crobat cannot meaningfully damage like Skarmory Jirachi and Celesteela, and against Pokemon that threaten Crobat like Lycanroc-D Thundurus-T and Nihilego. That leads into the mons you can't meaningfully damage, but if you read this sentence at face value, what it says is you use uturn on mons you have bad MU with, in practice, you know you often use it versus mons you have good MU on like zarude and tang to generate momentum. just talk about how U-turn lets Crobat escape Pokemon it fails to threaten like Jirachi and Celesteela as well as help wear down switch-ins and offensive checks like Rotom-W, Thundurus-T, and Nihilego, allowing Crobat to overcome them
  • Roost keeps Crobat healthy, allowing it to last in long games and 1v1 bulky threats like defensive Salamence and Chansey as well as use the benefits of its typing to switch into Zarude, and can potentially be used to remove its Flying typing for a turn, allowing Crobat to take less damage from moves like Volt Switch from Rotom-W and Rotom-H and Stone Edge from Cobalion. note somewhere that brave bird recoil forces it into roost more which can be exploited
  • Taunt lets Crobat prevent the use of status moves from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Chansey while also shutting down healing attempts from Pokemon like Salamence Mandibuzz and Skarmory. It can also be used to prevent Defog attempts from Pokemon like Salamence and Mandibuzz. Again, double check with QC to include chansey bc standard chansey doesn't use twave. you could also explain (and use hippo as an example) that prevent them from toxicing can be useful even though crobat can't be toxiced because it allows crobat to bring in another mon without fear of status. fine with this here about clarifying that preventing status moves from these Pokemon can be useful for Crobat's teammates
  • Defog can be used over Taunt to allow Crobat to act as a hazard remover. However, foregoing Taunt limits Crobat's offensive potency, and Crobat is unable to keep Stealth Rocks off the field against some common setters, like Cobalion and Nihilego. move this to OO defog bat is awful, say how it can be used for emergency defog but it loses to common setters and its offensive potency is very limited
  • Inner Focus is the preferred ability, as it prevents Salamence from lowering Crobat's Attack with Intimidate upon switch-in, and has the additional benefit of making Crobat immune to flinch attempts from Pokemon like Choice Scarf Jirachi and Autotomize Celesteela. replace the latter two with dark pulse from scarf hydra and waterfall from +1 Jolly DD gyara
I also think it's worth not caring about zarude and dumping the def into attack and hp, you still can always uturn on zarude even if it 2hkos you, which is a roll anyways after dumping into hp. remember to keep the 4 sr switch in hp evs. just removing all of this and replace with important info about spread I say earlier
Paragraph 2
  • Crobat pairs well with other pivots like Zarude, Thundurus-T, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W to keep momentum up. Rotom-H and Rotom-W make particularly good partners, as Crobat appreciates their checking Mamoswine and most Steel-types and potentially running Defog, allowing Crobat to run Taunt in its last moveslot more freely. think it's worth saying they MU well vs most steels which annoy crobat even if crobat can taunt skarm. if you want an example of steel you can stay celesteela and skarm but I don;t think it's necessary, this sentence already has quite a few pokemon names nah its good be specific in which steel types the rotoms handle the best, also clarify at the potentially running defog point that it only really applies to washer
[OVERVIEW]
Crobat acts as a fast offensive pivot and speed control thanks to its incredible natural Speed, allowing it to outspeed fast offensive Pokemon like Azelf, Zygarde-10%, Raikou, probably not worth mentioning here, it does get free u-turn chip on it before swithcing into something thats volted but its nor rly particularly big example compared to the others, either remove and keep to just the other 3 examples or you could put in keldeo if you like and Noivern. Crobat can make use of its high Speed and offensive pivoting with STAB Brave Bird and U-Turn to outlast checks such as Nihilego and Rotom-W, making it threatening to many common team styles. Taunt allows Crobat to check Pokemon reliant on status to threaten its teammates or Crobat itself, such as Amoonguss, Hippowdon, and Chansey. hippo and chansey kinda both fall into the next section where you stop them healing / setting rocks / teleporting tbh, may want to just reword this section a little but the content is good It also stops bulky threats like Salamence and Skarmory from healing, making it great for stallbreaking. also relevant for just stopping them checking u in first place as well since they cant roost off the damage (or id in skarms case) Crobat's Poison/Fying typing allows it to switch in on Grass- and Fighting-types it threatens, such as Zarude, Amoonguss, and Conkeldurr. don't like this line much, amoonguss just stun spores / spores u and conk KOs u with facade and rly rly hurts and cripples with knock However, Crobat lacks many relevant resistances, which can make it hard for Crobat to switch in on strong attacks from offensive Pokemon like Hydreigon, Azelf, and Zygarde-10%. kinda leaning in with last line but i disagree that it doesn't have many relevant resistances, grass fighting ground poison is a very relevant list but the issue is its vulnerability to stuff like paralysis, knock off, and coverage, (you mention this later but think its kinda important to come out asap) can kinda talk about how this leads it to not necessarily always wanting to switch in directly to a lot of stuff it might wanna check like amoong / conk, and can talk about how its average bulk means it wants to get those free switches on those sorta mons you mentioned Crobat's lack of relevant resistances also causes it to fear moves from Pokemon it would otherwise check, such as Facade from Conkeldurr and Hydro Pump from Keldeo. Lastly, Crobat is dependent on Heavy-Duty Boots to be effective, forcing it to play carefully against Knock Off users like Diggersby and Scizor. This also forces Crobat to think twice about switching into Knock Off users it would otherwise counter like Tangrowth.

U-Turn also wears down switch-ins and offensive checks like Rotom-W, Thundurus-T, and Nihilego, allowing Crobat to beat them long-term. Can mention that you can use it to get free chip damage on stuff like Raikou that you don't really have the means to hurt. Roost keeps Crobat healthy, allowing it to last in long games and 1v1 bulky threats like defensive Salamence and Chansey as well as use the benefits of its typing to switch into Zarude. Roost can also potentially be used to remove Crobat's Flying typing for a turn, allowing Crobat to take less damage from moves like Volt Switch from Rotom-W and Rotom-H and Stone Edge from Cobalion. Roost also helps compensate for the recoil damage Crobat takes from using Brave Bird. Taunt lets Crobat prevent the use of status moves from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Chansey while also shutting down healing attempts from Pokemon like Salamence and Skarmory. Even if Crobat itself does not fear Toxic from Pokemon like Chansey and Hippowdon, Crobat's teammates may appreciate Taunt shutting down the threat of Toxic after switching in. Taunt can also be used to prevent Defog attempts from Pokemon like Salamence and Mandibuzz. Inner Focus is the preferred ability, as it prevents Salamence from lowering Crobat's Attack with Intimidate upon switch-in, and has the additional benefit of making Crobat immune to flinch attempts from Pokemon like Choice Scarf Hydreigon's Dark Pulse and +1 Speed Jolly Gyarados's Waterfall. Maximum Speed investment is necessary to keep Adamant Dragon Dance Gyarados and Adamant Choice Scarf Diggersby in check. mention what the hp/atk being non 4/252/252 standard does.

Crobat pairs well with other pivots like Zarude, Thundurus-T, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W to keep momentum up. can mention how it likes getting free entry too since its not super bulky so it doesn't need to heal itself as often Rotom-H and Rotom-W make particularly good partners, as Crobat appreciates their checking Mamoswine and Steel-types like Scizor and Celesteela. Rotom-W can also potentially run Defog, allowing Crobat to run Taunt in its last moveslot more freely. delete this bit since its the only move mentioned on crobat anyway, fog is trash, can just talk about how it can mitigate some of the issue of bat being knocked by tang etc if u want instead Ground-type teammates like Hippowdon and Excadrill are appreciated to absorb Electric- and Rock-type moves aimed at Crobat. preferably keep it more specific eg mention that they can check like rotom-h and nihi respectively etc Excadrill can also take hazard removal pressure off of Crobat by running Rapid Spin. ditto about before with washtom Knock Off absorbers like Amoonguss and Tangrowth are appreciated to prevent Crobat from losing its Heavy-Duty Boots. Tangrowth and Amoonguss can also check Electric-types like Thundurus-T and Raikou for Crobat. Crobat checks Fighting-types like Conkeldurr and Keldeo, so Pokemon that appreciate the removal of these, like Mamoswine and Hydreigon, make good partners. don't like this arguement considering you dont really switch into them very well at all and they just have no reason to stay in either, would prefer you just keep it to just talking about how crobat can support wallbreakers instead with the second point if anything Crobat can also bring these Pokemon in against predicted switches with U-Turn. In return, these Pokemon can break through bulky Pokemon like Skarmory and Slowking for Crobat. an example of something mamoswine pressures here would be nice if we reform the structure of this section.

Inflitrator can be used instead of Inner Focus to allow Crobat to bypass Substitutes, preventing Pokemon like Substitute + Calm Mind Keldeo and Substitute + Calm Mind Primarina from getting a safe hit on Crobat from behind a Substitute. Defog can be used over Taunt to allow Crobat to act as a hazard remover. However, foregoing Taunt limits Crobat's offensive potency, and Crobat is unable to keep Stealth Rocks off the field against some common setters, like Cobalion and Nihilego hippo too without taunt lol. A set of Nasty Plot, Sludge Bomb, Heat Wave, and Roost can be used to allow Crobat to break through its usual Steel-type checks, but it can be hard to justify over Crobat's usual utility. can mention how this coverage is very strong into the tier and hits basically everything except nihilego neutrally at least In addition, Crobat's base Special Attack is low, so this set usually requires multiple Nasty Plots to break through its targets. but can mention how it can be pretty strong into bulkier teams sometimes because of the neutral coverage, reliable recovery and toxic immunity. Hypnosis can be used in the final slot to cripple switch-ins. shift this before the NP set because this genuinely reads like yuo suggesting it on the NP set rn. This should only be used when hazard control exists elsewhere on the team. doesn't make sense anymore since i'm assuming this is a remnant from when you had fog on the analysis, just lean into the next point about the low accuracy and opportunity cost of no taunt Hypnosis also suffers from low accuracy and opportunity cost in not using the more reliable Taunt. Finally, Super Fang could be used to weaken sturdy checks like Celesteela for Crobat's teammates. mention how this is ran alongside taunt while dropping u-turn to let it be quite a dangerous stallbreaker.

Checks and Counters

**Steel-Types**: Steel-types like Celesteela, Skarmory, and Jirachi take very little damage from Brave Bird and can hinder Crobat. Skarmory can lose one-on-one against Crobat due to Taunt preventing it from healing with Roost, but Crobat can still be chipped significantly by Skarmory in the process of beating it, especially if Skarmory is holding a Rocky Helmet. Cobalion does not resist Brave Bird, but is never 2HKO'd by it thanks to its great physical bulk, and can threaten Crobat with Stone Edge or Volt Switch and chip it with Rocky Helmet as well. Scizor also does not resist Brave Bird, and does not like switching into it, but Scizor can revenge kill a weakened Crobat with Bullet Punch.

Lycanroc-D also has priority Accelerock to prevent Crobat from hitting it first. really emphasise that nihi honestly does not switch into it well at all and is more just an offensive check: 40-45% from brave bird is ridiculous to the point that only a small amount of chip gets it 2hkoed, and u-turn still hurts it a bit too.

Both can also hit Crobat with a super effective Earthquake if it is forced to Roost, and Hippowdon can potentially punish Brave Bird and U-Turn from Crobat if Hippowdown is holding a Rocky Helmet. Hippowdon will usually lose to Crobat 1v1 after being Taunted, but Crobat can be significantly chipped in the process by Rocky Helmet and sand. Slowking can also comfortably take a Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage with Psychic.

Taunt allows Crobat to check Pokemon reliant on status to threaten its teammates or Crobat itself, such as Amoonguss, Hippowdon, and Chansey. It also prevents would-be checks like Salamence and Skarmory from recovering, allowing Crobat to beat them and making it great for stallbreaking. Taunt prevents would-be checks like Salamence and Skarmory from recovering against Skarmory, while preventing Pokemon such as Hippowdon and Chansey from recovering or using utility moves against it, and denying status moves from Amoonguss. While Crobat's Poison/Fying typing allows it to switch in on Grass- and Fighting-type attacks from Pokemon like Zarude, Amoonguss, and Conkeldurr, it must be wary of switching directly into a status move like Stun Spore or Spore from Amoonguss, or strong attacks like Darkest Lariat from Zarude and Knock Off and Facade from Conkeldurr. Furthermore, Crobat lacks many relevant resistances, which can Crobat's average Bulk versus neutral attacks make it hard for Crobat to switch in on strong attacks from offensive Pokemon like Hydreigon, Azelf, and Zygarde-10%. Crobat's lack of relevant resistances also causes it to fear moves from Pokemon it would otherwise check, such as Facade from Conkeldurr and Hydro Pump from Keldeo. Lastly, Crobat is dependent on Heavy-Duty Boots to be effective, forcing it to play carefully against Knock Off users like Diggersby and Scizor. This also forces Crobat to think twice about switching into Knock Off users it would otherwise counter like Tangrowth.

Crobat pairs well with other pivots like Zarude, Thundurus-T, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W to keep momentum up. These can also help bring Crobat in safely against targets like Amoonguss, reducing Crobat's need to Roost often. Rotom-H and Rotom-W make particularly good partners, as Crobat appreciates their checking Mamoswine and Steel-types like Scizor and Celesteela. Ground-type teammates like Hippowdon and Excadrill are appreciated to absorb Electric- and Rock-type moves aimed at Crobat from Pokemon like Rotom-H and Nihilego, respectively. Knock Off absorbers like Amoonguss and Tangrowth are appreciated to prevent Crobat from losing its Heavy-Duty Boots. Tangrowth and Amoonguss can also check Electric-types like Thundurus-T and Raikou for Crobat. Wallbreakers like Choice Specs Hydreigon and Keldeo pair well with Crobat, as Crobat can bring them in against Pokeomn like Rotom-W and Celesteela with U-turn predicted switches with U-Turn. In return, these Pokemon can pressure Pokemon like Rotom-W and Celesteela for Crobat.

However, foregoing Taunt limits Crobat's offensive potency, and Crobat will be unable to keep Stealth Rocks off the field against some common setters, like Cobalion, Hippowdon, and Nihilego. Hypnosis can be used in the final moveslot to cripple switch-ins, although it suffers from low accuracy and opportunity cost in not using the more reliable Taunt. A set of Nasty Plot, Sludge Bomb, Heat Wave, and Roost can be used to allow Crobat to break through its usual Steel-type checks, and provides excellent Fire/Poison coverage into most of UU's Pokemon. This set is particularly effective against bulkier teams due to the aforementioned coverage, Crobat's reliable recovery, and its Toxic immunity. However, this set can be hard to justify over Crobat's usual utility. In addition, Crobat's base Special Attack is low, so this set usually requires multiple Nasty Plots to break through its targets. Finally, Super Fang could be used over U-Turn and alongside Taunt to weaken sturdy checks like Celesteela for Crobat's teammates. This turns Crobat into a dangerous stallbreaker.

Checks and Counters
===================

Lycanroc-D also has priority Accelerock to prevent Crobat from hitting it first. still think its worth highlithing the fact that nihi shouldnt switch in at all really but ye

U-Turn U-turn also wears down switch-ins and offensive checks like Rotom-W, Thundurus-T, Raikou, and Nihilego, allowing Crobat to beat them long-term. Roost can also be used to remove Crobat's Flying typing for a turn, allowing Crobat to take less reducing its damage from moves like Volt Switch from Rotom-W and Rotom-H and Stone Edge from Cobalion. Roost also helps compensate for the recoil damage Crobat takes from using Brave Bird. Taunt lets Crobat prevent the use of shut down status moves from Pokemon like Amoonguss and Chansey while also shutting down Chansey, as well as healing attempts from Pokemon like Salamence and Skarmory. Even if Crobat itself does not fear Toxic from Pokemon like Chansey and Hippowdon, Crobat's its teammates may appreciate Taunt shutting down the threat of Toxic after switching they switch in. Taunt can also be used to prevent Defog attempts from Pokemon like Salamence and Mandibuzz. Inner Focus is the preferred ability, as it prevents Salamence from lowering Crobat's Attack with Intimidate upon switch-in, and has the additional benefit of making it additionally makes Crobat immune to flinch attempts from Pokemon flinches from attacks like Choice Scarf Hydreigon's Dark Pulse and +1 Speed Jolly Gyarados's Waterfall. Maximum Speed investment is and Jolly are (I assume?) necessary to keep Adamant Dragon Dance Gyarados and Adamant Choice Scarf Diggersby in check.

Crobat pairs well with other pivots like Zarude, Thundurus-T, Rotom-H, and Rotom-W to keep momentum up. These can also help bring Crobat in safely against targets like Amoonguss, (removed space before comma) reducing Crobat's need to use Roost often. Tangrowth and Amoonguss and Tangrowth can also check Electric-types like Thundurus-T and Raikou for Crobat. Wallbreakers like Choice Specs Hydreigon and Keldeo pair well with Crobat, as Crobat can bring them in against Pokemon like Rotom-W and Celesteela with U-Turn. U-turn.

Other Options
=============
Inflitrator can be used instead of Inner Focus to allow Crobat to bypass Substitutes, Substitute, preventing Pokemon like Substitute + Calm Mind Keldeo and Substitute + Calm Mind SubCM Keldeo and Primarina from getting a safe hit on Crobat from behind a Substitute. Defog can be used over Taunt to allow Crobat to act as a make Crobat an entry hazard remover. However, foregoing Taunt limits Crobat's offensive potency, and Crobat will be unable to keep Stealth Rocks potency and stops it from keeping Stealth Rock (I imagine this makes sense?) off the field against some common setters, like Cobalion, Hippowdon, and Nihilego. Hypnosis can be used in the final moveslot to cripple switch-ins, although it suffers from low accuracy and opportunity cost in not using the more reliable Taunt. A set of Nasty Plot, Sludge Bomb, Heat Wave, and Roost can be used to allow Crobat to break through its break through Crobat's usual Steel-type checks, and it provides excellent Fire / Poison (added spaces around slash) coverage against most of the UU tier. Finally, Super Fang could be used over U-Turn U-turn and alongside Taunt to weaken sturdy Crobat checks like Celesteela for Crobat's its teammates. This turns Crobat into a dangerous stallbreaker.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Steel-Types**: **Steel-types**: Steel-types like Celesteela, Skarmory, and Jirachi take very little damage from Brave Bird and can hinder Crobat. Skarmory can lose one-on-one against Crobat due to Taunt preventing it from healing with Roost, but Crobat can still be chipped significantly by Skarmory in the process of beating it, it would still damage Crobat significantly in the process, especially if Skarmory is holding a Rocky Helmet. Cobalion does not resist Brave Bird, but it's never 2HKO'd by it 2HKOed thanks to its great physical bulk, and it can threaten Crobat with Stone Edge or Volt Switch and chip it with Rocky Helmet as well. Scizor also does not resist Brave Bird (RC) and does not like switching into it, but it can revenge kill a weakened Crobat with Bullet Punch.

**Knock Off**: Crobat's reliance on Heavy-Duty Boots makes Knock Off a giant threat to its longevity, and makes it dangerous for Crobat making it dangerous to switch into Pokemon like Tangrowth and Krookodile that Krookodile, which would otherwise be less threatening.

**Rock-types**: Rock-types like Nihilego, Lycanroc-D, (AC) and Rhyperior also resist Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage on Crobat.

Swampert can use Flip Turn to switch pivot into a Pokemon that can threaten Crobat, while Hippowdon can outlast Crobat thanks to Slack Off and sandstorm mandates Taunt use with Slack Off and forces sand (I imagine this makes sense?) chip damage. Both can also hit Crobat with a super effective Earthquake if it is forced to use Roost, and Hippowdon can potentially punish Brave Bird and U-Turn U-turn with Rocky Helmet. Hippowdon will usually fail to 1v1 beat Taunt Crobat one-on-one, but Crobat can be significantly chipped in the process by Rocky Helmet and sand can significantly chip Crobat in the process. Slowking can also comfortably take a Brave Bird and threaten heavy damage with Psychic.
