[OVERVIEW]

An expansive offensive and setup movepool and solid mixed offensive stats make Kommo-o a versatile offensive threat that can wallbreak or clean late-game. This is complemented by its solid bulk, great typing, and ability, which let it naturally check and take advantage of Pokemon like Aegislash, Rotom-H, and Tangrowth. Clangorous Soul Kommo-o is a dangerous wallbreaker and late-game wincon that can easily set up and clean once checks like Primarina, Azumarill, and Galarian Slowbro have been weakened, while mixed Kommo-o is a solid offensive Stealth Rock setter and wallbreaker that can pressure the metagame with its fantastic coverage. Despite all its positive traits, Kommo-o faces heavy competition from Salamence, which offers similar defensive utility against Pokemon like Zarude but is more more consistent due to Intimidate and Roost. It also faces competition from Keldeo as a Fighting-type wallbreaker due to it having a much better Speed tier to outspeed Pokemon like Nihilego and Krookodile. Kommo-o's middling Speed tier also makes it easily revenge killed by a reasonable portion of the tier, including Pokemon like Salamence and Moltres; the latter is particularly troublesome, as it can easily switch into Kommo-o consistently. Kommo-o also lacks recovery and is easily worn down through chip damage and entry hazards; common Pokemon like Lycanroc-D also often run coverage such as Psychic Fangs, meaning Kommo-o can struggle to reliably check these Pokemon before their sets are revealed.

[SET]
name: Clangorous Soul
move 1: Clangorous Soul
move 2: Clanging Scales
move 3: Boomburst
move 4: Flamethrower
item: Throat Spray
ability: Bulletproof
nature: Timid
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Clangorous Soul turns Kommo-o into a powerful wallbreaker and cleaner. The Defense and Speed boosts help to severely limit its offensive counterplay, letting it comfortably take priority moves like Mamoswine's Ice Shard. Boomburst gives Kommo-o a solid option to hit Fairy-types like Primarina and Azumarill and also activates Throat Spray in matchups where Kommo-o is unlikely to be able to set up. Flamethrower hits Steel-types like Jirachi and Celesteela. Close Combat + Poison Jab with Life Orb is an alternative that allows Kommo-o to break through Primarina more easily after a boost, beat Chansey and weakened Diancie, and exert more early-game pressure without wasting its item. However, Close Combat drops Kommo-o's Defense, similarly to Clanging Scales, which is not ideal against Pokemon like Choice Scarf Krookodile. Throat Spray gives Kommo-o +2 Special Attack when using Clangorous Soul; however, it can prevent Kommo-o from using Clanging Scales and Boomburst before setting up if it needs the boost later in the game. Bulletproof lets Kommo-o set up on Tangrowth and other Pokemon like Chandelure. Overcoat is an option to let Kommo-o set up against Amoonguss and Rocky Helmet Tangrowth. If running a mixed set, Kommo-o should run a Naive nature so as to not weaken its physical attacks while taking priority moves from Pokemon like Mamoswine as best as possible.

Clangorous Soul Kommo-o is a solid fit on bulky offense and hyper offense teams that appreciate a deadly wallbreaker and wincon and can offer it the support it needs in breaking through checks like Primarina and Azumarill. Jirachi is a good Stealth Rock setter that can provide it with valuable Healing Wish support, letting it more comfortably run mixed sets with Life Orb and wallbreak early-game. It can also give Kommo-o setup opportunities against Pokemon like Amoonguss and Aegislash with U-turn. Kommo-o appreciates teammates that can break through or sufficiently weaken special walls like Chansey and Diancie. Nasty Plot Thundurus is a great option, providing dangerous early-game wallbreaking that can pave the way for Kommo-o to clean late-game. Belly Drum Azumarill provides another wallbreaker and late-game sweeper for hyper offense teams that can give Kommo-o setup opportunities against its checks like Amoonguss and Tangrowth.

[SET]
name: Mixed Offensive
move 1: Clanging Scales
move 2: Close Combat
move 3: Poison Jab / Flamethrower
move 4: Stealth Rock
item: Eject Pack / Life Orb
ability: Bulletproof
nature: Naive
evs: 4 Atk / 252 SpA / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Clanging Scales is a great spammable move for Kommo-o, preventing offensive checks like Salamence from switching in and being its best option against targets like Nidoqueen and Chandelure. Close Combat offers mixed coverage, letting it pressure some special walls like Chansey and Celesteela. Poison Jab gives it near-perfect coverage, hitting Fairy-types like Primarina and Tapu Bulu. Flamethrower is an option on teams that appreciate Kommo-o being able to hit Aegislash and pressure Amoonguss and Tangrowth better. Eject Pack is a fantastic item that lets it pivot after using either of its STAB moves, keeping up momentum against targets like Galarian Slowbro on offensive teams. Life Orb is an option to do significantly more damage against Pokemon like Celesteela and Primarina, giving a solid chance to 2HKO Rest + Sleep Talk Primarina. Bulletproof lets Kommo-o serve a a switch-in to Pokemon like Chandelure, Tangrowth, and if running Flamethrower, Aegislash. A Naive nature lets Kommo-o better check Zarude without weakening its attacks.

Mixed Kommo-o fits on a range of bulky offense and balance teams that appreciate a powerful wallbreaker, an offensive Stealth Rock setter, and an offensive check to Pokemon like Zarude and Aegislash that maintains momentum. Pivots such as Rotom-W and Jirachi can bring Kommo-o in on Pokemon like Tangrowth and Amoonguss for wallbreaking opportunities. Wallbreakers like Aegislash and Choice Band Krookodile appreciate Kommo-o bringing them in on Pokemon like Galarian Slowbro with Eject Pack. Pokemon capable of switching into Kommo-o's revenge killers like Aegislash and Primarina are essential. Zarude can check Aegislash, which is especially useful if Kommo-o is running Poison Jab, and offensively pressure Primarina. Amoonguss and Assault Vest Tangrowth can check Primarina for Kommo-o and offer Knock Off or sleep support against Kommo-o's checks, like Moltres and Salamence. Nihilego can switch into and offensively pressure Moltres and Salamence, and it appreciates Kommo-o running Stealth Rock so it can run Toxic Spikes.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

Kommo-o can run defensive sets to better check Pokemon like Aegislash and Zarude: running maximum Speed investment and Draco Meteor / Flamethrower / Stealth Rock / Toxic lets Kommo-o outspeed and pressure Pokemon like Rotom-W and Rotom-H and hit Salamence on the switch, while running maximum Defense investment with Body Press instead of Draco Meteor checks Pokemon like Lycanroc-D. These sets, however, are fairly passive against teams running Pokemon like Primarina and, if running Body Press, Salamence. A Dragon Dance set with Close Combat, Outrage, and Poison Jab is a dangerous cleaner for hyper offense teams that can also immediately wallbreak with Life Orb-boosted attacks. This set faces competition from the Clangorous Soul set, which can set up more easily and is much harder to revenge kill, and other Dragon Dance users like Salamence. Soundproof is a niche choice on mixed sets to check opposing Clangorous Soul Kommo-o for teams that would otherwise struggle with it. It also helps against the rare Toxtricity and Sylveon. Roar on defensive sets can rack up entry hazard damage on teams with Spikes and force out Pokemon like Nasty Plot + RestTalk Galarian Moltres and Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro. Toxic tends to be more valuable to cripple switch-ins like Salamence, however, and Kommo-o cannot phaze other setup sweepers like Calm Mind Reuniclus and Belly Drum Azumarill. Iron Defense can also be run on defensive sets to turn Kommo-o into a potential wincon with Body Press, but it still leaves Kommo-o easily revenge killed by options like Salamence and takes up a precious moveslot over options like Toxic and Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: While they must be wary of directly switching into Poison Jab from mixed variants, Primarina and Azumarill can easily force out mixed Kommo-o and beat Clangorous Soul Kommo-o if they are at a reasonable amount of HP. The rarer Diancie can easily check Clangorous Soul variants if they are fully special and force out mixed variants. Galarian Weezing walls mixed and defensive sets and can easily remove Stealth Rock with Defog.

**Bulky Psychic-types**: Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro can easily set up on mixed Kommo-o, while Assault Vest variants can check and beat both mixed and Clangorous Soul sets. While rarer, Assault Vest Reuniclus can similarly do this.

**Dragon-types**: Salamence and Noivern are capable of easily revenge killing Kommo-o if it has not boosted its Speed, although they are usually unable to switch in safely.

**Faster Pokemon**: Kommo-o's average Speed leaves it revenge killed by a large number of offensive threats in the tier, such as Moltres, Starmie, Psychic Fangs Lycanroc-D, and Choice Band Krookodile. The latter two cannot directly switch into it, though, and Krookodile needs a decent amount of chip damage first.

[OVERVIEW]

  • Expansive movepool of offensive and set-up moves, and solid mixed offensive stats lets Kommo-o be an incredibly versatile offensive threat that can wallbreak or clean late-game.
  • Complemented by solid bulk, and great typing that let it naturally check and take advantage of Pokemon like Rotom-W and Rotom-H, and Tapu Bulu.
  • Mixed sets can provide incredible offensive Stealth Rock setters that can heavily pressure the entire metagame; Dragon Dance and Clangerous Soul sets provide deadly wallbreakers and late game win conditions that can fairly easily set up through strong defense utility and clean easily once checks like Slowking, Skarmory, Azumarill, and Primarina have been weakened.
  • Can also run defensive sets that can also provide Stealth Rock and check threats like physical Victini, non-Play Rough Zeraora, Scizor, and Lycanroc-Dusk, while retaining a degree of offensive pressure through its coverage and powerful Body Press.
  • Great selection of abilities also let it pick and choose some further defensive utility, Overcoat makes it a great switch-in to Amoonguss and Tangrowth and absorb their Sleep moves, while Bulletproof can let Kommo-o help with teams that struggle to switch in to Chandelure, even providing a one time safe switch-in to Hex sets due to needing to be statused first, and lets it better check Pokemon like Amoonguss and Tangrowth after something has absorbed their Sleep.
  • Soundproof more niche but also provides a nice check to opposing special or mixed Kommo-o for teams especially weak to it, and can be nice versus the rare Toxtricity and Sylveon. I'd just keep this in oo
  • Despite all its positives, Kommo-o faces some heavy competition from Latias and Salamence, who are not usually seen on the same team as Kommo-o due to stacking weaknesses to Pokemon like Mamoswine, opposing Latias, and Azumarill. You could just compress this saying it faces competition from other Dragon-types. Latias's increased speed tier, letting it check Pokemon like Terrakion and Keldeo can be incredibly valuable, while Salamence offers similar defensive utility versus Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Scizor but can do this much more consistently through Intimidate and Roost, and offers utility options like Defog that Kommo-o does not possess. This point is fine but I'd reference it competing with Fighting-types too because as a standalone breaker Terrakion is a lot more appealing. With this addition, I'd cut down how much detail you go into these mentions.
  • Kommo-o's middling Speed tier also makes Kommo-o easily revenge killed by a reasonable portion of the tier, with Pokemon like Salamence, Kyurem, and Special Victini easily revenge killing it.
  • This lack of recovery can also make Kommo-o quite hard to rely on to solely deal with a lot of threats in the tier as it is easily worn down through chip damage and entry hazards; common Pokemon like Zeraora and Victini also often adapt to it by running Play Rough or Psychic on teams that struggle versus it, making Kommo-o an unreliable check to these Pokemon unless it knows their sets.

There should be an indicator that a 4 atks set is usable like so with slashing flame twice. Make Taunt a mention that can be run in either slot 3 or 4

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1

  • Clanging Scales is a great spammable move for Kommo-o, preventing offensive checks like Latias and Salamence from switching in and being its best option versus targets like Nidoqueen and Victini.
  • Close Combat offers mixed coverage, letting it pressure some special walls like Chansey and Celesteela.
  • Poison Jab gives it near perfect coverage, only missing out on Doublade, It isn't really worth mentioning Doublade when it is 3HKO'd by Clanging letting Kommo-o hit Fairy-types like Azumarill, Primarina, and Tapu Bulu, preventing the former two from checking it and making it a great offensive check to the latter.
  • Flamethrower is an option instead on teams that appreciate Kommo-o being able to pressure Amoonguss and Tangrowth better and check Scizor, as its bulk lets it eat a +2 Life Orb Bullet Punch from offensive sets. This also noteably still retains coverage for Tapu Bulu, albeit needing chip damage to kill offensive variants unlike Poison Jab.
  • On teams with another Stealth Rock user, Taunt can be used to prevent Pokemon like Slowking from clicking Teleport or Slack Off versus it, can also prevent Bulletproof versions from being Spored by Amoonguss.
  • Overcoat is Kommo-o's preferred option, letting it freely switch into Amoonguss and Tangrowth and threaten them out.
  • Bulletproof is a solid option however on teams weaker to Chandelure or teams with a strong status absorber, letting it avoid being crippled by Sludge Bomb from the above Grass-types.
  • Soundproof can be used on teams that specifically struggle with opposing Mixed or Clangerous Soul Kommo-o.
  • Naive Nature is used to let Kommo-o better check Scizor without weakening its attacks.
Reword the points about Flamethrower and Taunt to indicate what they are used over. Make sure to throw in a line that Flame can be used over rocks too.

Paragraph 2

  • Mixed Kommo-o fits on a range of Bulky Offense and Balance don't capitalize the archetype names teams that appreciate a powerful wallbreaker and offensive Stealth Rock setter that can check Pokemon like Scizor and Tapu Bulu.
  • Offensive Pivots such as Zeraora and Scizor can bring Kommo-o in on Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Amoonguss for wallbreaking opportunities. Zeraora in return can pressure offensive checks like Latias and Terrakion for Kommo-o, while Scizor can also bring it in versus Pokemon like Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Skarmory. Scizor can also offer a powerful late-game win condition instead with Swords Dance sets that appreciate Kommo-o pressuring checks like Rotom-H.
  • Skarmory and Mew can provide Kommo-o with Spikes support and form hazard stacking cores, helping it apply further pressure to checks like Primarina and opposing Mew. Skarmory in return provides a check to Pokemon like Azumarill and Mamoswine for Kommo-o; Mew can help check Salamence.
  • Pivots into revenge killers like Latias and Salamence are essential. Slowking can check these and Sspecial Victini while providing Teleport and Future Sight support, Jirachi can also switch in and provide Kommo-o with either Wish or Healing Wish support, letting it wallbreak more easily.
  • Tapu Bulu can switch into Play Rough Zeraora for Kommo-o, provide it with Grassy Terrain support to offset Life Orb recoil, and pressure Azumarill and Primarina for Kommo-o. Other Grass-types like Tangrowth and Amoonguss can also check Zeraora and provide Sleep support versus Pokemon like Latias and Salamence for Kommo-o.
You should tie into the Zera + Scizor point that they both pressure Slowking given that is the most consistent pivot into Kommo-o

move 1: Body Press
move 2: Flamethrower / Earthquake / Draco Meteor
move 3: Toxic

item: Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
ability: Bulletproof / Overcoat
nature: Bold / Impish You have EQ slashed so this is needed
evs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 Spe Being slower than Bisharp is bad imo. This also creeps Timid prima + zone. I'd swap the mentions below and say the slower one can help with Scizor more if needed + improves damage output of Body Press (maybe a notable calc?).

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
  • Body Press takes advantage of Kommo-o's fantastic defense to provide a solid attacking option, letting it pressure targets like Lycanroc-Dusk and Krookodile, and preventing Celesteela from freely switching into it.
  • Flamethrower lets Kommo-o check Scizor, which can otherwise boost past it with Swords Dance if it has Roost, and put a level of pressure on Amoonguss and Tangrowth.
  • Earthquake is an option to better pressure Chandelure, Nihilego, and Victini for teams that appreciate it, but leaves Kommo-o unable to beat Swords Dance + Roost Scizor.
  • Draco Meteor is an option for teams that don't need either of these properties and would rather prevent Latias and Salamence from switching in easily, OHKO'ing offensive versions of the latter and crippling the former.
  • Toxic lets Kommo-o pressure its switch-ins like Latias, Salamence, and Slowking.
  • Leftovers lets Kommo-o more reliably check targets like Physical Victini stop capitalizing stuff like special and physical '-' and negate Stealth Rock damage, but Rocky Helmet can be used to better chip Pokemon it checks like Tapu Bulu and Victini. Perhaps a diff example than tini to change it up
  • Bulletproof should be used if intending to use Kommo-o to check Chandelure. Still worth noting it helps with Sludge Bomb from the Grass-types.
  • Overcoat is an option otherwise but Kommo-o cannot 1v1 Amoonguss and does not like taking Sludge Bomb Poisons from Amoonguss or Tangrowth. At least specify it is to absorb Spore/Sleep Powder.
  • 96 Speed EVs let Kommo-o outspeed offensive Swords Dance Scizor. If not running Flamethrower, Kommo-o can opt to run 16 Speed EVs to outspeed Adamant Azumarill and Crawdaunt while increasing its bulk.
  • 140 Speed EVs is also an option to outspeed Bisharp if Kommo-o's team struggles with it, as Kommo-o can be OHKO'd by +2 Iron Head after some small chip damage otherwise.

Paragraph 2

  • Defensive Kommo-o fits well on Bulky Offense and Balance teams that need a Stealth Rocker and comfortable check to Pokemon like Scizor and Physical Victini.
  • Kommo-o should be paired with good switch-ins to Latias and Salamence, such as Jirachi and Slowking. Jirachi can provide Kommo-o with Wish support to help mitigate its lack of recovery, while Slowking can help check Special Victini variants for Kommo-o, and check other special attackers like Nidoqueen and Primarina.
  • Amoonguss, Tangrowth, and Tapu Bulu can provide checks to Play Rough variants of Zeraora, while Kommo-o checks Blaze Kick variants. Tapu Bulu can also provide Grassy Terrain support to help provide Kommo-o with more recovery, while these three can also help check Primarina, Azumarill, and Keldeo for Kommo-o. I'd mention this is nice for sets running Rocky Helmet
  • Offensive teammates like Victini and Scizor appreciate Kommo-o checking Pokemon like Lycanroc-Dusk, Chandelure, and Rotom-H for them, and having their checks like Salamence crippled by Toxic.
  • Pokemon like Zeraora and Choice Scarf Krookodile can pressure Kommo-o's checks like Latias and Alakazam. Kommo-o in return can check Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Rotom-W for them.
  • Set-up sweepers like Calm Mind Suicune, Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro, and Substitute + Calm Mind Keldeo appreciate Kommo-o checking revenge killers like Zeraora and Krookodile, crippling their checks like Calm Mind Latias and Slowking with Toxic, letting them more easily clean through teams. I can't see many scenarios where you can afford to use Keldeo + Kommo-o in this meta personally.
These points are fine but they don't all apply in every scenario. For example, even though it may be a Chandelure and Victini answer if it isn't running Earthquake it can't do much back. In some cases, it is worth specifying if it's running X move it can check Y or list some partners that help with these matchups if it forgoes the coverage option instead.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1

  • Clangorous Soul turns Kommo-o into a deadly wallbreaker and cleaner by taking advantage of Pokemon it forces out like Choice-locked Krookodile and Victini, Rotom-H, and Amoonguss to freely set up. The defense and speed boosts help to severely limit its offensive counterplay, letting it easily take priority moves like Mamoswine's Ice Shard.
  • Boomburst gives Kommo-o a solid option to hit Fairy-types like Primarina and Azumarill, and noteably also activates Throat Spray alongside Clanging Scales in matchups where Kommo-o is unlikely to be able to set up.
  • Flamethrower lets Kommo-o hit Steel-types like Jirachi and Celesteela.
  • Close Combat + Poison Jab is an alternative that gives Kommo-o the ability to break through Primarina and Azumarill more easily after a boost, as well as beat Chansey and a weakened Diancie and exert more early game pressure without wasting Throat Spray if running it. Close Combat however can interfere with the defense boosts offered by Clangorous Soul, which can be less than ideal. You could mention Drain Punch as an alternative to avoid this
  • Throat Spray is ideal a lot of the time, giving Kommo-o +2 Special Attack when using Clangorous Soul at 0 cost. Life Orb can be instead used however, and is especially nice on Mixed variants to power up Close Combat, letting Kommo-o click its moves more freely early game without wasting its item. Kommo-o should be extremely wary about doing this without a Healing Wish user however, as it will be unable to really set up otherwise due to the large chip damage from both Life Orb and Clangorous Soul.
  • Overcoat is the preferred ability in order to let Kommo-o set up against Amoonguss and Tangrowth.
  • Timid Nature should be run if running a fully special set, otherwise a Naive nature ensures that Kommo-o better takes priority moves like Mamoswine's Ice Shard.

Paragraph 2

  • Clangorous Soul Kommo-o is a fantastic fit on bulky offense and hyper offense teams that appreciate a deadly wallbreaker and win condition, and can offer it the support it needs in breaking through its checks like Primarina and Slowking.
  • Fits especially nicely on Dual Screens teams, helping it set up more easily in spite of the 33% HP lost from Clangorous Soul. Grimmsnarl and Alolan Ninetales can provide this. Grimmsnarl can help prevent hazards being set up with Taunt to help Kommo-o set up more easily, Alolan Ninetales can provide set up opportunities through Hypnosis and Encore.
  • Also fits well on hazard stacking teams, Lead Mew can provide Spikes + Stealth Rock to wear down Pokemon like Primarina.
  • Jirachi is also a good Stealth Rock setter option especially on offense that can provide it with valuable Healing Wish support, letting it more comfortably run Life Orb and wallbreak early game. Also provides a switch-in to Latias and can give it set up opportunities versus stuff like Amoonguss with U-turn.
  • Kommo-o appreciates teammates that can break through or heavily weaken special walls like Chansey, Diancie, and Slowking. Latias and Double Dance Galarian Moltres are great options for this, providing dangerous early-game wallbreakers that can pave the way for Kommo-o to clean late game.
  • Belly Drum Azumarill can provide another wallbreaker and sweeper for hyper offensive teams that Kommo-o particularly appreciates, as it can set up against a lot of its checks like Tapu Bulu and Amoonguss.
  • Other wallbreakers like Swords Dance Terrakion and Scizor can provide Kommo-o set up opportunities against their checks like Scizor and Rotom-H. Scizor can likewise also set up against Kommo-o's revenge killers like Mamoswine and Focus Sash Alakazam in order to sweep.

move 4: Substitute
item: Salac Berry

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1

  • Substitute lets Kommo-o safely set up when forcing out Pokemon like Tangrowth or Amoonguss, and ensures that Belly Drum puts it straight into Salac Berry range.
  • Drain Punch lets Kommo-o regain its lost health and punishes the opponent for switching to a Pokemon to sacrifice it as Kommo-o uses substitute, making it harder to revenge kill with options like Scizor.
  • Thunder Punch is the preferred option for Kommo-o's last move, giving it coverage for Pokemon like Slowking, Primarina, and Azumarill, and OHKO'ing Skarmory, preventing it Whirlwinding it out if its Sturdy has been broken. A big one is Tentacruel because you can't recover any health against it thanks to Liquid Ooze and can OHKO before hit by Haze.
  • Poison Jab is an option that does greater damage versus Latias and Hatterene while retaining coverage for Primarina and Azumarill, but leaves Kommo-o unable to OHKO Slowking or Skarmory, while Latias still takes upwards of 75% damage from a +6 drain Punch.
  • Overcoat lets Kommo-o hard switch into Tangrowth or Amoonguss to more easily set up, but Bulletproof prevents these Pokemon breaking its Substitute with Sludge Bomb, which could otherwise prevent a safe set up if this set is predicted.
Comment on Salac Berry

Paragraph 2

  • Belly Drum Kommo-o fits on Hyper offensive teams that appreciate a dangerous win condition and can maximise the chance of ensuring secure set up opportunities.
  • Dual Screens setters like Grimmsnarl and Alolan Ninetales can help Kommo-o more easily set up with Belly Drum, reducing the reliance on Substitute to do this.
  • Calm Mind Latias is a potent teammate that can weaken checks like Hatterene and invite Mamoswine to trade itself for Latias, while giving Kommo-o set up opportunities versus Pokemon like Chansey and Choice-locked Krookodile that it can force out.
  • Entry hazard setters like Krookodile and Terrakion can help Kommo-o by putting Pokemon like Latias and Skarmory into range of its attacks after Stealth Rock, preventing the latter in particularly from using Whirlwind to force Clanger out. Krookodile can also provide Kommo-o with set up opportunities against Amoonguss and Tangrowth, while Terrakion can help weaken checks like Nidoqueen and pressure and get set up opportunities with Swords Dance against Kommo-o checks like Mamoswine and defensive Salamence.
  • Pokemon like Autotomize Celesteela and Swords Dance Scizor can provide secondary win conditions and set up against Pokemon that revenge kill Kommo-o like Scizor, Mamoswine, and Choice Scarf Jirachi. Scizor can also wallbreak earlier and soften up Kommo-o's checks like Salamence and Skarmory while providing it set up opportunities versus Rotom-W and Rotom-H.
  • Bulk up Zeraora appreciates Kommo-o supporting it against physically defensive Tangrowth and can remove Krookodile for Kommo-o.

move 4: Poison Jab

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1

  • Dragon Dance turns Kommo-o into a threatening late-game sweeper or early-game wallbreaker, and gives it the power to break through typical checks like Azumarill and Primarina, while preventing revenge killing from normal Kommo-o checks like Latias and Salamence.
  • Outrage is an option to let Kommo-o break through Pokemon like Nidoqueen and a chipped Slowking at +1 Attack, but can lead Kommo-o to being easily revenge killed by Pokemon like Primarina.
  • Scale Shot is an inconsistent option over Outrage due to variable power, although an average 3-hit will still OHKO Latias and Salamence after a Dragon Dance boost, but prevents it from being as easily revenge killed, and can let Kommo-o boost its speed a second time to avoid being revenge killed by Choice-Scarf users like Keldeo and Jirachi.
  • Overcoat is ideal on Kommo-o to safely set up on Amoonguss and Tangrowth. Bulletproof is an option to more easily set up on them if something is already asleep and your team struggles with Chandelure.
  • Life Orb ensures that Kommo-o can safely OHKO Azumarill after a Dragon Dance Boost.

Paragraph 2

  • Dragon Dance Kommo-o fits well on Hyper Offensive teams as a dangerous win condition, but can also fit nicely on Bulky Offense teams that appreciate a switch-in to Amoonguss and Tangrowth that can also double up as a wallbreaker and late-game sweeper.
  • Dual Screens support from Grimmsnarl or Alolan Ninetales is valuable on Hyper Offensive teams, letting Kommo-o stay out of range of revenge killers like Mamoswine and Scizor and set up more easily.
  • Scizor and Zeraora can bring Kommo-o in for set up opportunities against targets like Rotom-W, Rotom-H, and Amoonguss. Scizor can also serve as a potent set up sweeper on Hyper Offense teams that can break through Kommo-o's checks like Slowking and Mamoswine, and weaken Skarmory for it.
  • Zeraora can help to weaken Nidoqueen so that Kommo-o does not need to lock into Outrage to kill it, while providing it with set up opportunities against Pokemon like Amoonguss with Volt Switch, and similarly removing Rocky Helmets from the preeviously mentioned targets. Bulk Up sets on Hyper Offensive teams can also remove Choicie Scarf Krookodile for Kommo-o.
  • Krookodile and Jirachi can provide Stealth Rock support for Kommo-o. Krookodile can also help check Zeraora for Kommo-o before it has Dragon Danced and remove Rocky Helmet's from Amoonguss and Tangrowth so that Kommo-o can more comfortably pressure them, while Jirachi can provide Healing Wish and U-turn support, and pivot into Latias and Salamence for Kommo-o early-game before it has set up.
  • Tapu Bulu, Amoonguss, and Tangrowth can help to check Choice Scarf Krookodile for a weakened Kommo-o, Rocky Helmet Amoonguss can also check Choice Scarf Jirachi. Tapu Bulu can provide Grassy Terrain support to help offset Kommo-o's Life Orb recoil, while Amoonguss and Tangrowth can provide it with set up opportunities through Spore and Sleep Powder. All three can also help to check Play Rough Zeraora for Kommo-o.

  • Autotomize is a solid option over Stealth Rock on Mixed Offensive sets, that can punish teams reliant on offensively checking Kommo-o with Pokemon like Latias and Zeraora and let Kommo-o clean late game. This set does face massive competition from Clangorous Soul sets however, but cannot be revenge killed by Choice Scarf users like Jirachi and Keldeo unlike the latter.
  • Swords Dance sets with Scale Shot are an option that turns Kommo-o into an immediately deadly wallbreaker, but requiring two turns of set up to properly clean and avoid being revenge killed by Pokemon like Salamence and Latias can make it very inconsistent. Mixed offensive sets therefore end up being more effective a lot of the time as wallbreakers.
  • Choice Specs is a solid option on Kommo-o that can take advantage of its expansive special movepool, typically running Clanging Scales, Aura Sphere or Focus Blast, Boomburst, and Flamethrower. This noteaby has the power to 2HKO Azumarill and Choice Specs Primarina with Boomburst, and Slowking with Clanging Scales, making it able to easily nab some surprise kills, although Choice locking can be especially undesirable around pivots such as Slowking if its set is found out.
  • Defensive sets can choose to drop Stealth Rock in favour of running the combination of Toxic + Protect, making it able to exert more pressure on checks like Latias by stalling out extra turns of Poison and recovery. It can be hard to fit Stealth Rock elsewhere a lot of the time and Kommo-o is a solid choice to set it as it can pressure common removers with Body Press and Toxic.
  • Taunt is an option on Defensive sets to prevent Pokemon like Rhyperior and Skarmory setting up entry hazards against it, Kommo-o is unfortunately slower than common Defog users like Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Salamence however, so it cannot be used to easily prevent this.
  • Roar is also an option on Defensive sets that can help rack up entry hazard damage and force out Pokemon like Nasty Plot + RestTalk Moltres-Galar and Calm Mind Slowbro-Galar. Toxic tends to be more valuable to cripple switch-ins like Latias however, and Kommo-o cannot phaze out other set up sweepers like Calm Mind Reuniclus or Belly Drum Azumarill, while it would prefer to just attack ones like Swords Dance Scizor.
  • Iron Defense can also be run on Defensive sets to turn Kommo-o into a potential win condition with Body Press, but leave it still easily revenge killed by options like Latias and take up a precious moveslot over options like Toxic or Stealth Rock.
  • Scale Shot + Sitrus Berry is an option over Substitute + Salac Berry on Belly Drum, but is typically far more inconsistent as requires two turns of set up making it more easy to check with Pokemon like Latias.
I just don't think those two I slashed are really worth the mention. Put DD in here. Put Soundproof in here.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: While they must be capable of directly switching into Poison Jab from offensive variants, Primarina and Azumarill can easily force out Defensive and Mixed Kommo-o and beat Clangorous Soul Kommo-o if they are at a reasonable amount of HP. They are unable to beat Kommo-o after a Dragon Dance however. Change cos DD oo The rarer Diancie can easily check Clangorous Soul variants if they are fully special, and force out Mixed variants.

**Dragon-Types**: Latias, Salamence, and Kyurem are capable of easily revenge killing Kommo-o if it has not boosted its speed, although they are usually unable to switch in directly safely, although Latias can comfortably switch into Defensive sets. Salamence can also defensively check Belly Drum Kommo-o if it has Dual Wingbeat, allowing it to break the Substitute and then KO it afterwards while living any one hit comfortably. Rarer Choice Scarf variants of Latias can revenge kill even Clangorous Soul or Dragon Dance Kommo-o sets.

**Faster Pokemon**: Kommo-o's average Speed stat leaves it revenge killed by a large number of offensive threats in the tier, such as Play Rough Zeraora, Salamance, Latias, Special Victini, Choice Band Terrakion, and Alakazam. Cut the list down Its typing also leaves it with a weakness to Ice Shard from Mamoswine. Kommo-o's incredible coverage tends to leave these Pokemon unable to safely switch in, but all teams will usually carry multiple offensive checks like this to Kommoo.

1/3

You have a lot of grammar mistakes, most of which are capitalizing things wrong so make sure to fix that up. Also, when you compare Overcoat to Bulletproof I think you need to be clearer that Overcoat is to prevent being put to sleep with Spore and Sleep Powder than it lets Kommo-o hard into them or set up on them, whatever reasoning you gave each time.

:ss/kommo-o:

[OVERVIEW]

  • Expansive movepool of offensive and set-up moves, and solid mixed offensive stats lets Kommo-o be an incredibly versatile offensive threat that can wallbreak or clean late-game.
  • Complemented by solid bulk, and great typing that let it naturally check and take advantage of Pokemon like Rotom-W and Rotom-H consider replacing one of these with Chandelure, and Tapu Bulu.
  • Mixed sets can provide incredible offensive Stealth Rock setters that can heavily pressure the entire metagame; Clangerous Soul sets provide deadly wallbreakers and late game win conditions that can fairly easily set up through strong defense utility and clean easily once checks like Slowking, Skarmory, Azumarill, and Primarina have been weakened. Maybe find a way to condense the Clangorous Soul bit, just referring to it as a powerful sweeper with coverage to bypass checks should suffice
This needs to be cut way down. Just saying that it can allow Kommo-o to pivot in on attacks like Chandelure's Shadow Ball and Amoonguss's Sludge Bomb should be fine.
  • Despite all its positives, Kommo-o faces some heavy competition from other Dragon-types, who are not usually seen on the same team as Kommo-o due to stacking weaknesses to Pokemon like Mamoswine and Azumarill this can be inferred as is so I'd remove it. Salamence in particular offers similar defensive utility versus Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Scizor but can do this much more consistently through Intimidate and Roost. It also faces competition from Terrakion as a Fighting-type who can be more appealing as a standalone breaker due to its extremely limited defensive checks maybe say better offensive typing here instead?, and better Speed tier.
Psychic is more of a mainstay on Victini than ever so I'd maybe just rephrase this to say that Pokemon like Zeraora/Lycanroc can employ coverage to hit it hard (would also help condense the wordiness here a bit more).

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1

  • Clanging Scales is a great spammable move for Kommo-o, preventing offensive checks like Kyurem and Salamence from switching in and being its best option versus targets like Nidoqueen and Victini.
  • Close Combat offers mixed coverage, letting it pressure some special walls like Chansey and Celesteela.
  • Poison Jab gives it near perfect coverage, letting Kommo-o hit Fairy-types like Azumarill, Primarina, and Tapu Bulu, preventing the former two from checking it and making it a great offensive check to the latter don't think this is particularly necessary to include and kind of just add-on information.
  • Flamethrower is an option instead on teams that appreciate Kommo-o being able to pressure Amoonguss and Tangrowth better and check Scizor, as its bulk lets it eat a +2 Life Orb Bullet Punch from offensive sets. This also notably still retains coverage for Tapu Bulu, albeit needing chip damage to kill offensive variants unlike Poison Jab. Flamethrower can also be used over Stealth Rock if a team has another Stealth Rock user, making it even more offensively threatening.
  • Naive Nature is used to let Kommo-o better check Scizor without weakening its attacks.

Paragraph 2

  • Mixed Kommo-o fits on a range of bulky offense and balance teams that appreciate a powerful wallbreaker and offensive Stealth Rock setter that can offensively check Pokemon like Scizor and Tapu Bulu.
  • Offensive Pivots such as Zeraora and Scizor can bring Kommo-o in on Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Amoonguss for wallbreaking opportunities, while pressuring Kommo-o's most consistent switch-in in Slowking. Zeraora in return can pressure offensive checks like Victini and Terrakion for Kommo-o, while Scizor can also bring it in versus Pokemon like Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Skarmory. Scizor can also offer a powerful late-game win condition instead with Swords Dance sets that appreciate Kommo-o pressuring checks like Rotom-H. I don't really think this fits as something to mention when your main focus is pivots. Maybe a new line on setup sweepers it can support with this set that mentions SD Sciz?
  • Skarmory and Mew can provide Kommo-o with Spikes support and form hazard stacking cores, helping it apply further pressure to checks like Primarina and opposing Mew. Skarmory in return provides a check to Pokemon like Azumarill and Mamoswine for Kommo-o; Mew can help check Salamence.
  • Pivots into revenge killers find a clearer way of phrasing this since right now it's a bit confusing to read. Something like 'Pokemon capable of switching into Kommo-o's checks' like Victini, Salamence, and Kyurem are essential. Slowking can check the former two while providing Teleport and Future Sight support, Jirachi can check the latter two and provide Kommo-o with either Wish or Healing Wish support, letting it wallbreak more easily.
  • Tapu Bulu can switch into Play Rough Zeraora for Kommo-o, provide it with Grassy Terrain support to offset Life Orb recoil, and pressure Azumarill and Primarina for Kommo-o. Other Grass-types like Tangrowth and Amoonguss can also check Zeraora and provide Sleep support versus Pokemon like Salamence for Kommo-o.

name: Physically Defensive
move 1: Body Press
move 2: Flamethrower / Earthquake
move 3: Toxic
move 4: Stealth Rock
item: Leftovers / Rocky Helmet
ability: Bulletproof / Overcoat
nature: Bold / Impish
evs: 252 HP / 116 Def / 140 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1
  • Body Press takes advantage of Kommo-o's fantastic defense to provide a solid attacking option, letting it pressure targets like Lycanroc-D and Krookodile, and preventing Celesteela from freely switching into it. idk about including this, doesn't seem like it really does much damage in the grand scheme of things
  • Toxic lets Kommo-o pressure its switch-ins like Salamence, and Slowking maybe throw in a Fairy-type for your example here.
  • Leftovers lets Kommo-o more reliably check targets like physical Victini and negate Stealth Rock damage, but Rocky Helmet can be used to better chip Pokemon it checks like Tapu Bulu and Scizor. I'd note that Rocky Helmet leaves it a lot more open to being chipped down by foes like Chandelure.
  • Bulletproof should be used if intending to use Kommo-o to check Chandelure, it also helps with Sludge Bomb from Grass-types like Tangrowth if something else has been Sleep foddered. pretty sure this sentence doesn't fly by our grammar standards so be sure to polish it up
  • Overcoat is an option otherwise to absorb Spore and Sleep Powder but Kommo-o cannot 1v1 Amoonguss and does not like taking Sludge Bomb Poisons from Amoonguss or Tangrowth. not totally convinced this needs to be a slash honestly considering bulletproof is almost always better for compressing the specs chandy check? ig if you're really strapped for sleep absorbers but meh
  • Maybe a Soundproof mention considering it allows this set to handle opposing Clangorous Kommo-o and switch into rarer foes like Toxtricity/Sylveon.
  • 140 Speed EVs allow Kommo-o to outspeed Bisharp if its team struggles with it, as Kommo-o can be OHKO'd by +2 Iron Head after some small chip damage otherwise. I feel like just stating that it outspeeds Bish is sufficient here.
  • 96 Speed EVs is an alternative option to let Kommo-o outspeed offensive Swords Dance Scizor, while offering a slightly stronger Body Press. If not running Flamethrower, Kommo-o can opt to run 16 Speed EVs to outspeed Adamant Azumarill and Crawdaunt while increasing its bulk. Not sure if 16 Speed is worth bringing up here tbh
  • Impish nature should be used if Kommo-o is running Earthquake to avoid weakening it versus targets like Victini, otherwise a Bold nature is optimal to maximise Flamethrower damage.

Paragraph 2

  • Defensive Kommo-o fits well on Bulky Offense and Balance teams that need a Stealth Rocker and comfortable check to Pokemon like Scizor and Physical Victini a different example may work better here especially considering your next sentence brings up the necessity of Victini switch-ins which could confuse some readers.
  • Kommo-o should be paired with good switch-ins to Salamence and Victini, such as Jirachi and Slowking.
Tapu Bulu can also provide Grassy Terrain support to help provide Kommo-o with more recovery, while these three can also help check Primarina, Azumarill, and Keldeo for Kommo-o, this is especially nice for Rocky Helmet sets which otherwise would lack any recovery. unnecessary info
  • Offensive teammates like Victini and Scizor appreciate Kommo-o checking Pokemon like Lycanroc-D, Chandelure, and Rotom-H for them, and having their checks like Salamence crippled by Toxic.
  • Pokemon like Zeraora and Choice Scarf Krookodile can pressure Kommo-o's checks like Victini and Alakazam. Kommo-o in return can check Pokemon like Tapu Bulu and Rotom-W for them. Krookodile can also help to check Chandelure for Kommo-o if it is running Flamethrower, as it will struggle to do much besidies from wearing it down with Toxic if not running Earthquake. to get your point across more efficiently just say "if it isn't running Earthquake" and maybe say 'further pressure' instead of 'check'
  • Set-up sweepers like Calm Mind Suicune and Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro appreciate Kommo-o checking revenge killers like Zeraora and Krookodile.
- Consider a line on wallbreakers that can help provide some offensive pressure that this set tends to lack at times.

name: Clangorous Soul
move 1: Clangorous Soul
move 2: Clanging Scales
move 3: Boomburst / Close Combat
move 4: Flamethrower / Poison Jab Just make these moves mentions
item: Throat Spray / Life Orb
ability: Overcoat
nature: Timid / Naive
evs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1

  • Clangorous Soul turns Kommo-o into a deadly wallbreaker and cleaner by taking advantage of Pokemon it forces out like Choice-locked Krookodile and Victini, Rotom-H, and Amoonguss to freely set up this is a bit too wordy and setup targets can be cut from this section. If you want a line in paragraph 2 on utilizing them for setup turns is an option to include. The defense and speed boosts help to severely limit its offensive counterplay, letting it easily take priority moves like Mamoswine's Ice Shard. I wouldn't say easily, maybe just say it can more comfortably take it if it's healthy.
  • Boomburst gives Kommo-o a solid option to hit Fairy-types like Primarina and Azumarill, and noteably also activates Throat Spray alongside Clanging Scales in matchups where Kommo-o is unlikely to be able to set up.
  • Flamethrower lets Kommo-o hit Steel-types like Jirachi and Celesteela. adding Scizor here may not be a bad idea
Drain Punch is an alternative to this to help mitigate this issue, but misses out on important KOs such as against bulky Swords Dance Scizor after Stealth Rock. Not convinced this is good enough to warrant a spot in moves
This can be cut down, especially considering mixed sets aren't as common anymore. Just say it's an option on mixed sets for powering up its physical attacks.
Considering mixed is just a moves mention you may not need to specify naive nature for it tbh.

Can also provide a switch in to Pokemon like Kyurem and Salamence and give it set up opportunities versus stuff like Amoonguss with U-turn.
  • Kommo-o appreciates teammates that can break through or heavily weaken special walls like Chansey, Diancie, and Slowking. Alakazam and Double Dance Galarian Moltres maybe a different example considering it doesn't really beat Chansey/Diancie on its own that reliably are great options for this, providing dangerous early-game wallbreakers that can pave the way for Kommo-o to clean late game.
Scizor can likewise also set up against Kommo-o's revenge killers like Mamoswine and Focus Sash Alakazam sash Zam seems weird to specifically mention here unless I'm just tired and missing something in order to sweep.

[SET]
name: Belly Drum
move 1: Belly Drum
move 2: Drain Punch
move 3: Thunder Punch
move 4: Substitute
item: Salac Berry
ability: Overcoat / Bulletproof
nature: Jolly
evs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spe

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1

  • Substitute lets Kommo-o safely set up when forcing out Pokemon like Tangrowth or Amoonguss, and ensures that Belly Drum puts it straight into Salac Berry range.
  • Drain Punch lets Kommo-o regain its lost health and punishes the opponent for switching to a Pokemon to sacrifice it as Kommo-o uses substitute, making it harder to revenge kill with options like Scizor. I feel like this is kind of confusing to read and isn't necessarily game changing info, so I'd just maybe emphasize its boosted power by citing some things it can notably break past.
  • Thunder Punch is the preferred option for Kommo-o's last move, giving it coverage for Pokemon like Slowking, Primarina, and Azumarill, and OHKO'ing Skarmory, preventing it Whirlwinding it out if its Sturdy has been broken. It importantly lets Kommo-o beat Tentacruel, which otherwise can use Haze to clear Kommo-o's boosts and prevents Kommo-o recovering health with Drain Punch through Liquid Ooze. Maybe cut down some examples here or find another way to condense this since it becomes quite wordy
  • Poison Jab is an option that does greater damage versus Hatterene while retaining coverage for Primarina and Azumarill, but leaves Kommo-o unable to OHKO Slowking or Skarmory.
  • Overcoat lets Kommo-o hard switch into Tangrowth or Amoonguss to more easily set up, but Bulletproof prevents these Pokemon breaking its Substitute with Sludge Bomb, which could otherwise prevent a safe set up if this set is predicted.
  • Salac Berry lets Kommo-o outspeed Pokemon like Zeraora after activation, and is triggered after using a Substitute + Belly Drum combo.

  • Double Dance Galarian Moltres is a potent teammate that can weaken checks like Diancie and invite Mamoswine to trade itself for Galarian Moltres, while giving Kommo-o set up opportunities versus Pokemon like Chansey.
  • Entry hazard setters like Krookodile and Terrakion can help Kommo-o by putting Pokemon like Skarmory into range of its attacks after Stealth Rock, in particular preventing it from using Whirlwind to force Kommo-o out.

[STRATEGY COMMENTS]
Other Options
=============

  • Swords Dance sets with Scale Shot are an option that turns Kommo-o into an immediately deadly wallbreaker, but requiring two turns of set up to properly clean and avoid being revenge killed by Pokemon like Salamence and Kyurem feel like this can be cut especially considering the sentence gets a bit wordy can make it very inconsistent. Mixed offensive sets therefore end up being more effective a lot of the time as wallbreakers. Not necessary to include really
  • Dragon Dance sets with Close Combat, Outrage, and Poison Jab can turn Kommo-o into a dangerous late game cleaner for hyper offense teams that can also immediately break with Life Orb boosted attacks. These sets however face strict competition from Clangorous Soul sets which can set up more safely and are harder to revenge kill with priority like Scizor's Bullet Punch.
  • Soundproof is a niche choice for Kommo-o's ability on mixed sets, which lets it check opposing mixed or special Clangorous Soul Kommo-o sets for teams that would otherwise struggle with it. It also can be helpful versus the rare Toxtricity and Sylveon.
  • Defensive sets can choose to drop Stealth Rock in favour of running the combination of Toxic + Protect, making it able to exert more pressure on checks like Salamence by stalling out extra turns of Poison and recovery. It can be hard to fit Stealth Rock elsewhere a lot of the time and Kommo-o is a solid choice to set it as it can pressure common removers with Body Press and Toxic. I don't think this is particularly important info to include given you've already cited the main drawback of foregoing rocks.
  • Taunt is an option on Defensive sets to prevent Pokemon like Rhyperior and Skarmory setting up entry hazards against it, Kommo-o is unfortunately slower than common Defog users like Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Salamence however, so it cannot be used to easily prevent this. maybe remove this? Seems really meh over pretty much all of its other utility options on defensive
  • Roar is also an option on Defensive sets that can help rack up entry hazard damage and force out Pokemon like Nasty Plot + RestTalk Moltres-Galar and Calm Mind Slowbro-Galar. Toxic tends to be more valuable to cripple switch-ins like Salamence however, and Kommo-o cannot phaze out other set up sweepers like Calm Mind Reuniclus or Belly Drum Azumarill, while it would prefer to just attack ones like Swords Dance Scizor. another thing I don't think is very good at all but up to you whether to remove this tbh, no strong opinion
  • Iron Defense can also be run on Defensive sets to turn Kommo-o into a potential win condition with Body Press, but leave it still easily revenge killed by options like Salamence and take up a precious moveslot over options like Toxic or Stealth Rock.
  • Scale Shot + Sitrus Berry is an option over Substitute + Salac Berry on Belly Drum, but is typically far more inconsistent as requires two turns of set up making it more easy to check with Pokemon like Salamence. Not convinced this should be here considering BD is niche as is and the speed boost is often invaluable

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: While they must be capable I think 'wary' or a similar word works a lot better here of directly switching into Poison Jab from offensive variants, Primarina and Azumarill can easily force out Defensive and Mixed Kommo-o and beat Clangorous Soul Kommo-o if they are at a reasonable amount of HP. The rarer Diancie can easily check Clangorous Soul variants if they are fully special, and force out Mixed variants. Maybe Galarian Weezing here? Solid check to non-Clangorous sets and neutrality to Pjab/lots of ways it can punish Kommo-o.

**Dragon-Types**: Salamence and Kyurem are capable of easily revenge killing Kommo-o if it has not boosted its speed, although they are usually unable to switch in directly safely, although Salamence can comfortably switch into Defensive sets this can be cut. Salamence can also defensively check Belly Drum Kommo-o if it has Dual Wingbeat, allowing it to break the Substitute and then KO it afterwards while living any one hit comfortably.

**Faster Pokemon**: Kommo-o's average Speed stat leaves it revenge killed by a large number of offensive threats in the tier, such as Play Rough Zeraora, Choice Band Terrakion, Alakazam, and Special Victini. Its typing also leaves it with a weakness to Ice Shard from Mamoswine. Kommo-o's incredible coverage tends to leave these Pokemon unable to safely switch in, but all teams will usually carry multiple offensive checks like this to Kommoo. this isn't necessary to include. If anything, just say that all of the aforementioned examples can't reliably switch in that often.

[OVERVIEW]

Expansive movepool of offensive and set-up moves and solid mixed offensive stats lets Kommo-o be a versatile offensive threat that can wallbreak or clean late-game. This is complemented by its solid bulk and great typing add "and ability" bc u mentioned chandy or just remove chandy and bring it up in the later bulletproof point to help this flow better that let it naturally check and take advantage of Pokemon like Chandelure, Rotom-H, and Tangrowth. It has solid set versatility due to its range of offensive and defensive options. Clangerous Soul sets provide dangerous wallbreakers and late game win conditions that can fairly easily set up through strong defense utility and clean once checks like Primarina, Azumarill, and Mew have been weakened. Mixed sets can provide solid offensive Stealth Rock setters and wallbreakers that can pressure the entire metagame with its fantastic coverage. Access to a fantastic ability in Bulletproof also provides Kommo-o with solid defensive utility, as a switch in to Pokemon like Aegislash and Tangrowth. Despite all its positives, Kommo-o faces some heavy competition from other Dragon-types the only other relevant dragon-type is noivern if u wanna bring that up too or if u just wanna say it faces heavy competition from primarily salamence . Salamence in particular offers similar defensive utility versus Pokemon like Tapu Bulu bulu is irrelevant imo, id recommend you consider putting smth like zarude and Scizor but can do this much more consistently through Intimidate and Roost. It also faces competition from Keldeo as a Fighting-type wallbreaker that has much better Speed and can get through Mew unlike Kommo-o. Kommo-o's middling Speed tier also makes it easily revenge killed by a reasonable portion of the tier, with Pokemon like Salamence, Kyurem moltres can work here, and Mew easily revenge killing it, the latter is particularly troublesome to Kommo-o as it can easily switch into Kommo-o consistently. This lack of recovery can also make Kommo-o quite hard to rely on to solely deal with a lot of threats in the tier as it is easily worn down through chip damage and entry hazards; common Pokemon like Lycanroc-D also often run coverage such as Psychic Fangs, meaning Kommo-o can struggle to reliably check these Pokemon before their sets are revealed.

Close Combat + Poison Jab is an alternative that gives Kommo-o the ability to break through Primarina and Azumarill +2 max spa boomburst actually does more than +1 uninvested poison jab to an azu, even +1 max spa boom burst does more than +1 uninvested if ur holding life orb more easily after a boost, as well as beat Chansey and a weakened Diancie and exert more early game pressure without wasting Throat Spray if running it. Close Combat however can interfere with the defense boosts offered by Clangorous Soul, which can be less than ideal. true but clanging scales does the same to ur physical defense which is the defense drop that matters, id just say its weaker compared to boomburst bc boomburst gets throat spray boost so it's overall stronger/more spammable outside of certain matchups (basically just the opportunity cost of using cc over boomburst is a pain) Throat Spray gives Kommo-o +2 Special Attack when using Clangorous Soul, however it can prevent Kommo-o from using its attacks before setting up if it needs the boost later in the game. If running mixed sets, Life Orb should instead be run to power up its physical attacks and allow Kommo-o to wallbreak without wasting its item. Bulletproof lets Kommo-o set up on Tangrowth without fear of a Sludge Bomb Poison, and find set up chances on other Pokemon like Chandelure. Overcoat is, however, an option in order to let Kommo-o set up against Amoonguss and Rocky Helmet Tangrowth. If running a mixed set, Kommo-o should run a Naive nature so as to not weaken its physical attacks, while ensuring it takes priority moves from Pokemon like Mamoswine and Scizor as best as possible.

Clangorous Soul Kommo-o is a solid fit on bulky offense and hyper offense teams that appreciate a deadly wallbreaker and win condition, and can offer it the support it needs in breaking through its checks like Primarina and Azumarill. This set also fits well stacking teams, Lead Mew is a great option to provide Spikes + Stealth Rock to wear down Pokemon like non Heavy-Duty Boots Primarina. Jirachi is also a good Stealth Rock setter option on these offensive teams that can provide it with valuable Healing Wish support, letting it more comfortably run mixed sets with Life Orb and wallbreak early game. It can also give Kommo-o set up opportunities versus Pokemon like Amoonguss and Aegislash with U-turn. Kommo-o appreciates teammates that can break through or sufficiently weaken special walls like Chansey, Diancie, and Mew. Nasty Plot Mew and Thundurus are great options for this, providing dangerous early-game wallbreakers that can pave the way for Kommo-o to clean late game. Belly Drum Azumarill can provide another wallbreaker and late-game sweeper for hyper offensive teams that can give Kommo-o set up opportunities versus its checks like Amoonguss and Tangrowth. Other wallbreakers like Swords Dance Lycanroc-D and Scizor can provide Kommo-o set up opportunities against their checks like Scizor and Rotom-H. Scizor can likewise also set up against Kommo-o's revenge killers like Mamoswine in order to sweep.

[SET COMMENTS]

Paragraph 1

Clanging Scales is a great spammable move for Kommo-o, preventing offensive checks like Salamence from switching in and being its best option versus targets like Nidoqueen and Chandelure. Close Combat offers mixed coverage, letting it pressure some special walls like Chansey and Celesteela. Poison Jab gives it near perfect coverage, letting Kommo-o hit Fairy-types like Primarina and Tapu Bulu. Flamethrower is an option instead on teams that appreciate Kommo-o being able to hit Aegislash, pressure Amoonguss and Tangrowth better, and check Scizor, as its bulk lets it eat a +2 Life Orb Bullet Punch from offensive sets. Eject Pack is a fantastic option for Kommo-o that lets it pivot out after using either of its STAB moves, keeping up momentum versus targets like Mew on offensive teams. Life Orb is an option that lets Kommo-o do significantly more damage versus Pokemon like Celesteela and Primarina maybe mention a ko it nets or something here, like guaranteed ohko on nihil after rocks w cc. Bulletproof lets Kommo-o serve a a switch in to Pokemon like Chandelure, Tangrowth, and if running Flamethrower, Aegislash. A Naive Nature is used to let Kommo-o better check Scizor without weakening its attacks.

Paragraph 2

Mixed Kommo-o fits on a range of bulky offense and balance teams that appreciate a powerful wallbreaker and offensive Stealth Rock setter that can offensively check Pokemon like Scizor and Aegislash and maintain offensive momentum. Pivots such as Rotom-W and Scizor can bring Kommo-o in on Pokemon like Tangrowth and Amoonguss for wallbreaking opportunities. Rotom-W can also provide Defog support too prevent Kommo-o being worn down by the Spikes its main check, Mew, lays versus it, while Scizor can also bring it in versus Pokemon like Rotom-H, Rotom-W, and Skarmory. Scizor can also offer a powerful late-game win condition with Swords Dance sets that appreciate Kommo-o pressuring checks like Rotom-H that it can bring in during the early-to-mid game. Wallbreakers like Aegislash and Choice Band Krookodile appreciate Kommo-o bringing them in on Pokemon like Mew id add av gbro or reuni as well with Eject Pack. Mew can provide Kommo-o with Spikes support and form hazard stacking cores, helping it apply further pressure to checks like Primarina and opposing Mew. Pokemon capable of switching into Kommo-o's revenge killers like Mew and Primarina are essential. Zarude can check Mew and provide a check to Aegislash if Kommo-o is running Poison Jab. you could briefly mention incineroar here too as an aegi check and say that it can knock off a bulky prim's lefties Amoonguss and Assault Vest Tangrowth can check Primarina for Kommo-o, while offering Knock Off or Sleep support versus Kommo-o's checks like Moltres and Salamence. Nihilego can switch into and offensively pressure Moltres and Salamence, and appreciates Kommo-o running Stealth Rock so that it can run Toxic Spikes to help pressure Kommo-o's checks like Mew.

Other Options
=============

Swords Dance sets with Scale Shot are a fantastic option that turns Kommo-o into an immediately deadly wallbreaker that can always clean due to Speed Boosts. since this is getting a set onsite down the road maybe briefly mention what item is best on it because it is a good set These sets are typically easily revenged by priority users like Scizor due to both STAB moves lowering defence, so require partners that can handle such Pokemon briefly mention what partners like rotom-h/molt etc. Kommo-o can run defensive sets that let it better check Pokemon like Aegislash and Zarude. There are two options for such sets, either running maximum speed investment and Draco Meteor, Flamethrower, Stealth Rock, and Toxic, letting Kommo-o outspeed and pressure Pokemon like Rotom-W and Rotom-H, and hit Salamence on switch in, or maximum defence investment with Body Press instead of Draco Meteor, taking advantage of its solid defense stat to check Pokemon like Lycanroc-D, and better check Scizor. mention the downside to these sets i.e. can be too passive as times and easily overwhelmed or w/e Dragon Dance sets with Close Combat, Outrage, and Poison Jab can turn Kommo-o into a dangerous late game cleaner for hyper offense teams that can also immediately break with Life Orb boosted attacks. These sets however face strict competition from Clangorous Soul sets which can set up more safely and are harder to revenge kill with priority like Scizor's Bullet Punch also faces competition from dd mence which can snowball. Soundproof is a niche choice for Kommo-o's ability on mixed sets, which lets it check opposing mixed or special Clangorous Soul Kommo-o sets for teams that would otherwise struggle with it. It also can be helpful versus the rare Toxtricity and Sylveon. Roar is an option on Defensive sets that can help rack up entry hazard damage on teams with Spikes and force out Pokemon like Nasty Plot + RestTalk Moltres-Galar and Calm Mind Slowbro-Galar. Iron Defense can also be run on Defensive sets to turn Kommo-o into a potential win condition with Body Press, but leave it still easily revenge killed by options like Salamence and take up a precious moveslot over options like Toxic or Stealth Rock.

also up to you if you wanna put all the other stuff that was removed like belly drum

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fairy-types**: While they must be wary of directly switching into Poison Jab from mixed variants, Primarina and Azumarill can easily force out Mixed Kommo-o and beat Clangorous Soul Kommo-o if they are at a reasonable amount of HP. The rarer Diancie can easily check Clangorous Soul variants if they are fully special, and force out Mixed variants. Galarian Weezing walls mixed and defensive sets, and can easily Defog away Kommo-o's Stealth Rock.

**Mew**: Mew can switch into Mixed sets completely freely, and easily stall them out of their PP, while using Kommo-o as a chance to set Spikes. While not a threat when at high HP, Mew can revenge kill weakened Clangorous Soul variants if running a Psychic STAB move, although offensive variants have a small chance to be KO'd by a +2 Clanging Scales.

**Dragon-Types**: Salamence and Noivern are capable of easily revenge killing Kommo-o if it has not boosted its speed, although they are usually unable to switch in directly safely.

**Faster Pokemon**: Kommo-o's average Speed stat leaves it revenge killed by a large number of offensive threats in the tier, such as Moltres, Starmie, Psychic Fangs Lycanroc-D, and Choice Band Krookodile. The latter two cannot switch in directly on it though, and Krookodile needs a decent amount of chip damage first.

might wanna consider bulky psychic-types like av reun and av gbro which beat this thing no matter what

[OVERVIEW]

Expansive movepool of offensive and set-(RH)up moves and solid mixed offensive stats lets Kommo-o be a versatile offensive threat that can wallbreak or clean late-game. This is complemented by its solid bulk,(AC) and great typing,(AC) and ability that let it naturally check and take advantage of Pokemon like Chandelure, Rotom-H, and Tangrowth. It has solid set versatility due to its range of offensive and defensive options.(This sentence is basically a repetition of the past two sentences.) Clangerous Soul sets provide dangerous wallbreakers and late game win conditions that can fairly easily set up through strong defense utility and clean once checks like Primarina, Azumarill, and Slowbro-Galar have been weakened. Mixed sets can provide solid offensive Stealth Rock setters and wallbreakers that can pressure the entire metagame with its fantastic coverage. Clangorous Soul Kommo-o is a dangerous wallbreaker and late-game wincon that can easily set up and clean once checks like Primarina, Azumarill, and Galarian Slowbro have been weakened, while mixed Kommo-o is a solid offensive Stealth Rock setter and wallbreaker that can pressure the metagame with its fantastic coverage.(I assume this is what you meant?) Access to a fantastic ability in Bulletproof also provides Kommo-o with solid defensive utility, as a switch in to Pokemon like Aegislash and Tangrowth.(This sentence repeats the second sentence. If you want, add the Aegislash mention to the second sentence.) Despite all its positives traits, Kommo-o faces some heavy competition from other Salamence, who in particular offers similar defensive utility versus Pokemon like Zarude but can do this much more consistently through Intimidate and Roost which offers similar defensive utility against Pokemon like Zarude but is more more consistent due to Intimidate and Roost. It also faces competition from Keldeo as a Fighting-type wallbreaker that has due to it having a much better Speed tier,(RC) and being faster than Pokemon like Nihilego and Krookodile. Kommo-o's middling Speed tier also makes it easily revenge killed by a reasonable portion of the tier, with Pokemon like Salamence and Moltres easily revenge killing it;(comma to semicolon) the latter is particularly troublesome to Kommo-o,(AC) as it can easily switch into Kommo-o consistently. This lack of recovery can also make Kommo-o quite hard to rely on to solely deal with a lot of threats in the tier as it Kommo-o also lacks recovery and is easily worn down through chip damage and entry hazards; common Pokemon like Lycanroc-D also often run coverage such as Psychic Fangs, meaning Kommo-o can struggle to reliably check these Pokemon before their sets are revealed.

Roar is an option on defensive sets that can help on defensive sets can rack up entry hazard damage on teams with Spikes and force out Pokemon like Nasty Plot + RestTalk Galarian Moltres and Calm Mind Galarian Slowbro. Toxic tends to be more valuable to cripple switch-ins like Salamence, (AC) however, and Kommo-o cannot phaze out other setup sweepers like Calm Mind Reuniclus and Belly Drum Azumarill. Iron Defense can also be run on defensive sets to turn Kommo-o into a potential wincon with Body Press, but it still leaves Kommo-o easily revenge killed by options like Salamence and takes up a precious moveslot over options like Toxic and Stealth Rock.

Checks and Counters
===================

The latter two cannot switch in directly on it directly switch into it, though, and Krookodile needs a decent amount of chip damage first.
