Tera Type: Ghost / Fairy

[SET COMMENTS]

* Choice Specs Lunala is an excellent wallbreaker on bulky offensive or balance teams. Its combination of Moongeist Beam and Moonblast allow it to 2HKO or OHKO a majority of the tier, with only a few exceptions such as Ho-Oh and defensive Primal Kyogre. Blissey and Chansey also cannot get 2HKOed, but they are more niche. It can muscle through defensive Pokemon sponging neutral hits with ease as it possesses high natural bulk for an offensive Pokemon. With Tera Ghost, no viable Pokemon in the tier can safely switch into it.
* Moonblast is invaluable to Lunala as it makes Dark-types a shaky switch-in. It 2HKOes defensive Yveltal and Arceus-Dark, and is a high roll to OHKO specially offensive Yveltal. Moonblast can also be used as a mid-ground option if the opposing team has a Dark-type in the first place in order to ease prediction.
* Psyshock is preferred over Psyshic as Psychic does not provide any meaningful benefit that supplements Moongeist Beam and Moonblast. Psyshock allows for Lunala to chunk into Pokemon with high special defense, such as defensive Primal Kyogre and Ho-Oh. Psyshock also keeps the OHKO on defensive Eternatus after Stealth Rock and a single layer of Spikes. Another big advantage to Psyshock is that it allows Lunala to save PP on its Moongeist Beam while still dealing meaningful damage.
* Trick is useful as it allows for Lunala to punish defensive Pokemon like Ho-Oh and defensive Yveltal who otherwise freely switch into it. This does come with the caveat of being unable to 2HKO Pokemon like Arceus-Fairy, defensive Primal Groudon, defensive Necrozma-DM after Tera, and Zygarde after Tera. It also misses out on a OHKO on offensive Necrozma-DM, offensive Eternatus, and Giratina-O.
* Tera Ghost is the preferred Tera type that Lunala uses as it enhances its wallbreaking potential. After Tera, Lunala is now able to consistently 2HKO Ho-Oh and specially offensive Yveltal. It also gives it the ability to OHKO offensive Primal Groudon, while also making it so that Arceus-Dark can no longer switch in lest it gets 3HKOed. Tera Ghost also provides defensive merit to Lunala as without the extra weakness to Ghost and Dark it can now tank a Hex from special utility Giratina-O, a Foul Play from defensive Arceus-Dark, and a Poltergeist from Life Orb Marshadow without Shadow Shield. At full, Lunala becomes able to tank a Poltergeist from Tera Ghost Life Orb Marshadow, a Poltergeist from Choice Band Marshadow, a Dark Pulse or Knock Off from Tera Dark specially offensive Yveltal, and a Poltergeist from Giratina-O.
* Tera Fairy is also an option to consider over Tera Ghost. Terastallizing into a Fairy type gives it an outstanding defensive typing, It also provides Lunala the capacity to take hits from Arceus-Dark, Giratina-O, Marshadow, and Yveltal. It also provides it the capacity to OHKO defensive Yveltal and Arceus-Dark with Moonblast. However, Tera Fairy comes with the con of weakening its matchup into stall. Removing its Ghost typing allows Chansey to freely spam Seismic Toss against it. Tera Fairy should be considered on bulky offense teams that may lack the backbone to handle Lunala's threats.
* Lunala thrives against bulkier team structures. It is able to punish defensive Pokemon fairly reliably given the right prediction. Unfortunately, hyper offensive oriented teams have Pokemon that tend to overwhelm Lunala. Being choice locked allows Pokemon like Zacian-C, Arceus, and Ultra Necrozma a free set-up opportunity, conceding momentum. If Shadow Shield remains intact Lunala can often trade with some Pokemon such as offensive Primal Groudon, Ultra Necrozma, and Zacian-C. Otherwise, Lunala is reliant upon its teammates during these matchups.
* Lunala struggles into the tier's Ghost and Dark types, and so having defensive Pokemon that are able to handle them allow for Lunala's potential as a wallbreaker to be fully materialized. On a balance or bulky offense team structure, Coil Zygarde, defensive Arceus-Fairy, and defensive Arceus-Dark are three such examples help assist in dealing with Pokemon that would otherwise capitalize on Lunala, such as Marshadow, Yveltal, physically oriented Giratina-O, Arceus-Dark, and Ho-Oh.
* Pokemon that synergize well with Lunala offensively can punish opposing Pokemon that otherwise brush off Lunala's hits. One example would be Zacian-C. Zacian-C used in conjunction with Lunala can create an excellent offensive core on bulkier teams. Lunala deals with Primal Groudon, Dondozo, Necrozma-DM, and Alomomola which otherwise check Zacian-C. Zacian-C does the same for Lunala by dealing with Marshadow and Yveltal. Zygarde can also help Lunala offensively as much as it aids it defensively, being able to threaten Ho-Oh. After Zygarde Terastallizes into a Water type, it can also sometimes beat defensive Primal Kyogre, granted that it does not get burned by Scald early on.

[SET COMMENTS]

* Choice Specs Lunala is an excellent wallbreaker on bulky offensive or balance teams. Its combination of Moongeist Beam and Moonblast allow it to consistently 2HKO or OHKO a majority of the tier, with the only a few exceptions such as Ho-Oh, Blissey, and Chansey. It can muscle through defensive Pokemon sponging neutral hits with ease as it possesses high natural bulk for an offensive Pokemon. This can be reworded a bit. Emphasize that no in the tier can safely switch into Lunala as it is capable oh 2HKOeing the entire tier with Tera Ghost.

* Moonblast is invaluable to Lunala as it can deal damage to the common Dark-types of the tier. It consistently 2HKOes defensive Yveltal and Arceus-Dark, and always OHKOing specially offensive Yveltal after Stealth Rock. Moonblast can also be used as a mid-ground option if the opposing team has a Dark-type in the first place in order to ease prediction. It is always a 2HKO so no need for consistently. Mention that Moonblast makes Dark-Types a shaky switchin (first sentence). Moonblast is a high roll to outright OHKO specially offensive Yveltal so mention that and add that it always does after Stealth Rock.

* Psyshock is ran alongside Moongeist and Moonblast so that Lunala is can deal super effective damage to Eternatus, while still dealing meaningful damage to Blissey and Chansey if Stealth Rock is up. This bullet needs to be reworded. Pointing out that Psyshock is run alongside its other moves and hits Eternatus super effectively doesn't need to be mentioned as we can assume the reader is familiar with the type chart and is going to be able to read the moveset. What is important is what Psyshock does for Lunala and why it is included beyond 'its STAB'.

Psyshock dissuades Eternatus from switching in as it OHKOes defensive Eternatus after Stealth Rock and a single layer of Spikes. It does allow Lunala to threaten Chansey and Blissey, but it should also be mentioned that it allows Lunala to save Moongeist PP while still doing decent damage. There are a couple of other things but they are more suited for the usage tips bullet. Also

* Trick is useful as it allows for Lunala to circumnavigate its issue with Ho-Oh, Blissey, and Chansey. On a predicted switch-in, Lunala is able to hinder them from doing their defensive utility jobs effectively. This does come with the caveat of being unable to 2HKO Pokemon which ones? List them that it could prior, so it should be used with caution. Another reason Trick should be used cautiously is due to the common immunities to the move (Primals + Arceus formes). Include this

* Tera Fairy is the preferred Tera type that Lunala uses. Terastallizing into a Fairy type gives it a generally outstanding defensive typing. It also provides Lunala the capacity to take hits from Dark and Ghost typeswhich ones? list them that would otherwise threaten power through it. Most importantly, it prevents Lunala from being OHKOed from Marshadow when at full. A downside is that Lunala can no longer switch into Chansey with impunity and can be worn down with Seismic Toss, weakening its matchup against stall teams. Specify that Tera Fairy is an alternative option on bulky offence teams that may lack the defensive backbone to switch into Lunalas threats.

* Tera Ghost is also an option to consider over Tera Fairy. Terastallizing into a Ghost type powers up Lunala's Moongeist Beam while shedding off one of its weaknesses to Ghost and Dark. After Tera, Lunala is now able to consistently 2HKO Ho-Oh with Moongeist Beam. Swap this with Tera Fairy. Ghost is going to be the default Tera Type due to the degree to which it enhances Lunalas wallbreaking capabilities. 2HKOing Ho-Oh should definitely be mentioned. There are quite a few other calcs worth mentioning. For example, Moongeist Beam OHKOes defensive Primal Groudon after Stealth Rock and a single layer of Spikes. It also 2HKOes specially offensive Yveltal and prevents Arceus-Dark from freely switching in.

* Lunala thrives when pitted against bulkier team structures. It is able to whittle down defensive mons fairly reliably given the right predictionIf Lunala predicts correctly something is going down or getting an item they don't want to. Whittle is the opposite of what Lunala does. Chose a word which reflects this. Unfortunately, more hyper offensive oriented teams have Pokemon that tend to blow past Lunala or not give it an opportunity to fire off one of its powerful attacks. In matchups against offensive teams. During these matchups, Lunala's Shadow Shield should be kept intact so that it doesn't get blown past when attacking. Lunala tends to be overwhelmed against HO teams as locking into an attack can give something (Arceus, Ultra Necrozma, Zacian-C usually) the opportunity to freely setup and conceeds momentum. If Shadow Shield remains intact Lunala can often trade with some Pokemon (give some examples) if Shadow Shield remains intact but often relies on on teammates.

* Defensive teammates benefit Lunala the greatest. On a balance or bulky offense team structure, Coil Zygarde and defensive Arceus-Fairy assist in dealing with Pokemon that would otherwise capitalize on Lunala, such as Marshadow, Yveltal, physically oriented Giratina-O, Arceus-Dark. Ho-Oh, Chansey, and BlisseyThis sentence is obviously unfinished so I'm not sure what the thought is supposed to be. Emphasize that Zygarde and Arceus-Fairy are excellent switchins to Pokemon which scare Lunala out such as Marshadow, and Yveltal. These pokemon are both incredibly difficult to switch into otherwise.

* Offensive teammates like Zacian-C used in conjunction with Lunala create an excellent offensive core on bulkier teams. Lunala deals with Primal Groudon, Dondozo, Necrozma-DM, and Alomomola which otherwise check Zacian-C. Zacian-C does the same for Lunala by dealing with Chansey and Blissey, as well as providing valuable offensive prowess in dealing with Marshadow and Yveltal Eternatus. Lunala doesn't have issues with Chansey and Blissey. Zacian-C also has a good matchup against more offensive teams which Lunala tends to struggle with.

* Trick is useful as it allows for Lunala to punish defensive mons Pokemon fix other instances of this like Ho-Oh, Chansey, and Blissey use more meta-relevant examples, mentioning the blobs this often would give the impression that they're meta defining that would otherwise switch in to it. This does come with the caveat of being unable to 2HKO Pokemon like Arceus-Fairy, defensive Primal Groudon, defensive Necrozma-DM after Tera, and Zygarde after Tera. Should rephrase this bullet point to first go over Lunala struggling against Dark and Ghost-types, especially as some of the examples given to check Lunala aren't offensive, then give a mention to special walls like Ho-Oh (don't mention the pink blobs).
* Offensive teammates like Zacian-C used in conjunction with Lunala create an excellent offensive core on bulkier teams. Lunala deals with Primal Groudon, Dondozo, Necrozma-DM, and Alomomola which otherwise check Zacian-C. Zacian-C does the same for Lunala by dealing with Marshadow and Yveltal. Should go a bit broader here than merely focusing on Zacian-C as a partner, what desirable traits are wanted to be a good offensive partner for Lunala? Analyses are meant to give a guide to teambuild, not just give a core unless it's really mandatory viability-wise. Also mention a few more examples partner-wise here.
