[SET COMMENTS]
Although its fragility and typing give it limited switch-in opportunities, Chandelure's exceptional Special Attack and nearly unresisted STAB combination make it extremely difficult to switch into, and it is also effective at spreading status to wear down its checks. Hex and its chosen status move complement Fire Blast; after they take a small amount of chip from their status, Fire Blast-resistant Pokemon such as Noivern and Volcanion are KOed by Hex. Either Toxic or Will-O-Wisp can be used, although Toxic is generally preferred for its ability to inflict more damage and hit Volcanion and Incineroar. Will-O-Wisp can be useful to give Chandelure a way to status Dragalge and cripple physically offensive switch-ins like Rhyperior, Tyrantrum, and Zygarde-10%. Protect lets Chandelure scout Choice-locked switch-ins, such as Flygon and Zygarde-10%, as well as force the opposing Pokemon to take more status damage. Taunt can be used to shut down the recovery of this set's few reliable counters, Umbreon and Snorlax, making it nearly impossible for defensive teams to handle. Will-O-Wisp is more effective than Toxic alongside Taunt to weaken Umbreon's attacks and avoid being crippled by Synchronize. Energy Ball is useful specifically for Seismitoad, Gastrodon, and Rhyperior, OHKOing them immediately; however, once they are statused, they require only a little chip to KO with Hex. Finally, Pain Split is a niche option that gives Chandelure greater durability versus defensive teams.

Since Chandelure's Hex is twice as strong against statused foes, teammates that spread status, such as Seismitoad, Galarian Slowbro, Toxic Metagross, and Toxic or Thunder Wave Cobalion, make it even more threatening. It is extremely effective at forcing chip damage onto bulky Water-types, which teammates like Cobalion, Galarian Slowbro, Sharpedo, and Barbaracle appreciate. However, its defensive typing leaves it with a number of weaknesses. Ground-type checks like Zarude, Golisopod, and Celebi can prevent Zygarde-10% from claiming a KO against it, Togekiss and Cobalion can switch into Dark-types that may revenge kill it, and Zarude, Roserade, and Seismitoad can take on the Water-types that sometimes force it out. Chandelure also appreciates U-turn support from some of those Pokemon, notably Crobat and Zarude, to bring it into battle safely against Steel-types. Finally, its low Speed means it can be forced out by faster special attackers, such as Raikou and Thundurus. Offensive checks to them such as Choice Scarf Zarude, Choice Scarf Celebi, and Zygarde-10% can therefore be useful.

[QC 1/2] Maybe add Roserade as a check to bulky Waters, Xurkitree, and Raikou and as a source of Spikes support to hasten the opponent's demise. Your call though.

Hex compliments Fire Blast by KOing Fire resists such as Noivern and Volcanion after they have taken a small amount of chip from their status (i would mention status earlier in sentence). Either Toxic or Will-o-Wisp (capitalize) can be used, though Toxic is generally preferred for its ability to hit Volcanion and Incineroar while inflicting more damage. Will-o-Wisp (capitalize) can be useful to give Chandelure a way to status Draglage (typo) and lets it cripple physically offensive switch-ins like Rhyperior, Tyrantrum, and Zygarde-10%; however, none of those Pokemon want to take an Energy Ball. Protect can be useful to help Chandelure scout for Choice-locked attacks on switchins such as Flygon and Zygarde-10% as well as forcing the opposing Pokemon to take more status damage. Energy Ball is useful specifically for Seismitoad and Rhyperior (i feel like gastro could be worth a mention, seeing as its the only one with reliable recovery), OHKOing them. Finally, Taunt can be used to shut down the recovery of this set's few reliable counters, Umbreon and Snorlax, making it it (double word) nearly impossible for defensive teams to handle. (maybe mention how wisp would work better with taunt, as you don't get synchronized and weaken the attacks)
