Welcome to the inaugural edition of BW Grand Slam! The Ubers, UU, RU, NU, and PU Opens will be established for the first time, commencing the competition as players will compete to be crowned as the first ever BW Grand Slam Champion!
The format starts with a regular season consisting in five separate tournaments: The BW Ubers Open, the BW UU Open, the BW RU Open, the BW NU Open, and the BW PU Open. Depending on your performance in each Open, you will be awarded points. The point system is the same as the one used in Smogon Tour, Smogon Classic and previous years of Smogon Grand Slam- see this for further explanation. When all the Opens have been finished, the eight players with the most points will qualify for playoffs. There, the battlers will duke it out in a single elimination best-of-five series until there is one BW Grand Slam champion!
Here is the list of the five Opens and the dates each signups will be posted:
- The BW Ubers Open - Hosted by Eledyr - March 4th
- The BW UU Open - Hosted by Theia - March 11th
- The BW RU Open - Hosted by mkizzy & Lialiabeast - March 18h
- The BW NU Open - Hosted by a fairy - March 25th
- The BW PU Open - Hosted by Zoyotte and roxie - April 1st
If a tier shift happens to occur during a round, it will not be taken into account until the following round. Be sure to join the BW Discord server if you have any questions or wish to ask a host about a decision. More information on the tournament, standings spreadsheet, and any other logistics will be edited here and posted about in the near future -- stay tuned!
