:sv/brambleghast:

Base stats: 55 HP / 115 Atk / 70 Def / 80 SpA / 70 SpD / 90 Spe
Abilities: Wind Rider / Infiltrator

Noteable Moves:
- Giga Drain
- Power Whip
- Strength Sap
- Shadow Sneak
- Rapid Spin
- Spikes

Pros:
  • Brambleghast's typing and moveset lends itself to fulfilling a couple of roles simultaneously recently decently.
  • As a ghost with strength sap it has a naturally strong matchup versus a lot of common spinners like Donphan, Toedscruel, Forretress, and Tsareena.
  • As a spinner with ghost coverage, its not very comfortably to spinblock for your opponent at all.
  • Its a spiker that compresses its own spinblocking while having the powerful moves to prevent hatterene from trying to bounce Spikes.
  • All in all this gives it the ability to really tamper with teams that are pressured by Spikes and attempt to use non Fogger methods to control them.
  • Ability lets it act as a solid kilowattrel answer, its also got some pretty strong priority with base 115 Attack if you choose to drop Spikes on it that can be useful for Pokemon like espathra and gengar.
  • Solid base speed means it doesn't need to invest into its speed at all and can focus on bolstering its other stats.
Cons:
  • Below average bulk leaves Brambleghast relying mostly on Strength Sap + its typing to check things like Donphan.
  • Noticeable 4mss present, would like power whip or giga drain to threaten Donphan but shadow ball is important to let it spin reliably. Would also love to fit shadow sneak on physical power whip sets but has to give up Spikes to do it.
Tera potential:
  • Tbh don't? giving up your ghost typing is poor as a spin blocker and giving up your grass typing makes life into donphan harder.
Sets:

Brambleghast @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Wind Rider
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD OR 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpA
Bold Nature OR Modest Nature
- Spikes
- Strength Sap
- Shadow Ball
- Rapid Spin

Typical special set that lets you harass all your opposng Ghost-types to stop them trying to spinblock you. Max Spa improves your damage into hatterene and donphan, Max def means you can more comfortably switch into donphan from lower ranges instead. Likely to be an optimal mix of the two with a Modest nature and certain level of investment, but save that for the person building a specific team.

Brambleghast @ Colbur Berry
Ability: Wind Rider
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Attack / 4 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Power Whip
- Strength Sap
- Shadow Sneak
- Rapid Spin

Physical set for teams that either want the toxic spikes spinblocker or have another spiker somewhere else, max attack ensures the best damage possible from your power whips and sneaks. Likely speed investments you can make too but specific to teams.

If I may-

One of the best entry hazard removers in the tier. It puts offensive pressure on your opponent to try to block your Rapid Spin since they don't want to get koed. Strength Sap is a pretty crazy move and often heals close to 100% since its HP is so low. Having priority is another bonus being able to check very threatening pokemon. It's speed is decent but many times is can be OHKOed and outsped by a whole host of things. It is also able to trap things with litt Infestation.
