Overview
New Version:
* Kyurem-W is the strongest Refrigerate user, boasting high 170 Special Attack which is able to pressure common walls in the metagame such as Giratina, Zygarde-C, and Mega Audino.
* Water-types, which tend to switch into Kyurem-W's attacks, are less problematic by carrying Volt Switch which hits them supereffectively while lets Kyurem-W pivot at the same time.
* Due to it being the second strongest Core Enforcer user followed by Mega Rayquaza, Kyurem-W is able to pressure teams without Fairy-types and wear down RegenVest users.
* Kyurem-W needs variety of coverage moves to get past its checks: Volt Switch for Mega Gyarados, Magma Storm for Steel-types and Shedinja, and Secret Sword to simultaneously hit Mega Gyarados and Chansey.
* Speed tier of 95, while outspeeding key threats such as Primal Kyogre, Zekrom, and Dialga, is slower than common threats including Mega Diancie, and both Mega's of Mewtwo.
* Respectable bulk of 125 / 90 / 100 along with resistance to Water-type moves lets Kyurem-W be an emergency check to Primal Kyogre. However, Stealth Rock weakness ends up limiting the number of times Kyurem-W can switch in, and not many offensive teams are able to afford dedicated hazard removal.
* Achieving 2HKOes on threats like Solgaleo, Mega Gyarados, and its own Imposter is not possible without equipping Choice Specs, and Choice Scarf is needed for Kyurem-W to outspeed aforementioned offensive threats. Because Kyurem-W is unable to choose both options, it will struggle against playstyle that it does not aim to overcome.
* Kyurem-W faces heavy competition as a wallbreaker with -ate ability with Mega Rayquaza and Mega Diancie, and it needs somewhat heavy team support to function.

Overview
Unlike other -ate users, Kyurem-W does not rely on priority. While it is weak to them because of its poor defensive stats, it has the potential to fire off strong attacks with its monsterous base 170 Special Attack stat. In addition, Kyurem-W’s unique typing allows it to purge through walls such as Zygarde-C, defensive Primal Groudon variants, Giratina, and Fur Coat users that do not resist its STAB moves.
In addition, Kyurem-W's STAB combination is only resisted by Steel-types, and this gives it a niche due to its capability to purge through defensively oriented teams. It's somewhat easy to prepare a wall for Imposter by carefully choosing coverage moves.
However, weakness to entry hazards usually limit the times Kyurem-W can switch in. Kyurem-W's typing does not provide much resistances and its defensive stats are not impressive. Therefore, it is easily revenge killed or forced out. In addition, Kyurem-W is forced to equip Choice Items to fulfill its role: Choice Scarf is needed to outspeed many threats such as all Mewtwo variants with its mediocre base 95 Speed, and Choice Specs is required to net guaranteed OHKOs against Assault Vest Zygarde-C, Giratina, and Primal Groudon.
