[SET COMMENTS]
With an Assault Vest to improve its lackluster Special Defense and Regenerator, Tangrowth is a solid switch-in to threats such as Ash-Greninja, Tapu Koko, and Calm Mind Tapu Fini, absorbing their hits and forcing them out. However, Tangrowth is extremely susceptible to getting worn down by entry hazards and status and is generally passive. Physical attackers can overload it given its lack of Defense investment, and it's extremely reliant on its Assault Vest to handle special attackers, so taking Knock Off means it struggles to check anything. Tangrowth also faces major competition from the likes of Amoonguss, which boasts an additional Poison typing, can run a passive recovery item, and has additional utility in Clear Smog. However, Tangrowth still has a solid niche over it due to checking Ground-type threats such as Landorus-T and Garchomp, as well as having its own great support move in Knock Off. Giga Drain provides additional recovery and reliability, while Power Whip allows Tangrowth to consistently check Calm Mind Tapu Fini and pressure Mega Tyranitar more. Knock Off lets it consistently make progress on switch-ins such as Galarian Slowking, Blissey, and Heatran, vastly reducing their longevity and effectiveness. Sludge Bomb pressures opposing Grass-types, such as Rillaboom and Serperior, while also threatening to poison Pokemon such as Volcarona and Zapdos. Earthquake denies Heatran a free switch in, threatening a KO on offensive variants after Stealth Rock, while also solidly damaging Electric-types like Magnezone and Tapu Koko. Hidden Power Ice lets Tangrowth soft check Ground-types such as Garchomp, Landorus-T and Gliscor. Meanwhile, Hidden Power Fire lets it soft check Kartana, Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor. The given EV spread allows Tangrowth to survive two Mega Swampert Ice Punches after Stealth Rock.

Tangrowth fits on bulky offense teams that appreciate its ability to check to Grass-, Water-, and Electric-types such as Serperior, Ash-Greninja, and Tapu Koko. Pokemon such as Tapu Fini, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Heatran are stellar teammates, greatly appreciating Tangrowth checking threats such as Ash-Greninja and Serperior, respectively. In return, they cover the Fire- and Ice-type moves from Pokemon like Weavile and Volcarona directed at it. Pokemon such as Tapu Koko and Tyranitar threaten Flying-type Pokemon such as Zapdos and Corviknight for it. Despite Tangrowth's Assault Vest, Ash-Greninja's Dark Pulses can still easily overwhelm it, so Dark-resistant teammates such as Clefable and Tapu Koko are solid partners. Solid entry hazard control from Pokemon such as Corviknight and Tapu Fini is a great asset given Tangrowth's frequent pivoting.

Rock Slide is a viable option to prevent Mega Charizard Y and Volcarona from gaining a free switch in, but it's generally useless outside of that. Focus Blast is a niche option in conjunction with Hidden Power Ice to hit both Kartana and Ground-type Pokemon at the same time, but it has no use outside of that.

Checks and Counters
===================

**Fire-type Pokemon**: Pokemon such as Mega Charizard Y, Volcarona, Heatran, and Victini easily force out Tangrowth with their strong Fire-type STAB attacks, but they must be careful switching in. The first two fear Rock Slide, the last two fear Earthquake, and the latter three detest Knock Off.

**Flying-type Pokemon**: Zapdos, Hawlucha, Corviknight, and Flyinium Z Landorus-T all force out Tangrowth, either getting a free setup opportunity or gaining momentum. However, Landorus-T can't switch in due to fearing Hidden Power Ice.

**Knock Off**: Due to Tangrowth's heavy reliance on Assault Vest to check special attackers such as Ash-Greninja and Tapu Koko, losing its item means it struggles to check these Pokemon and can quickly be overwhelmed by them. Pokemon that Tangrowth normally checks such as Rillaboom, Kartana, and Landorus-T often carry Knock Off and thus can easily cripple it.

**Ice-type Pokemon**: The likes of Kyurem and Weavile force Tangrowth out, but both fear switching in due to Knock Off, as well as Rock Slide and Sludge Bomb poisons.

Assault Vest Tangrowth utilises its decent mixed bulk, stellar pure Grass-typing as well as Regenerator in conjunction with an Assault Vest to function solid pivot to threats such as Ash Greninja, Tapu Koko and Calm Mind Tapu Fini, being able to absorb their hits and force them out. However, Tangrowth is extremely susceptible to getting worn down by entry hazards and status and is generally very it isn't too passive, cuz knock and good coverage passive, as well as its extremely reliant on Assault Vest, so it struggles to check the aforementioned threats if it gets Knocked Off. Mention the immense competition it faces with amoong here, who has Poison typing, black sludge, clear smog etc but tang still has a niche cuz not weak to Ground etc Power Whip can be used over Giga Drain to allow it to consistently check Calm Mind Tapu Fini and pressures Mega Tyranitar more. mention giga drains advantages before Knock Off greatly decreases Tangrowth’s passivity, threatening item removal on Pokemon such as Slowking-Galar, Blissey and Heatran, vastly reducing their longetevity and effectiveness. Sludge Bomb pressures opposing Grass-types such as Rillaboom and Serperior, while also threatening Poisons on Pokemon such as Volcarona and Zapdos, who otherwise freely switch into it. Earthquake allows Tangrowth to deny Heatran a relatively free switch in, threatening a KO on offensive variants after Stealth Rock. Hidden Power Ice lets Tangrowth function as an effective soft check to Ground-types such as Garchomp, Landorus-T and Gliscor. Hidden Power Fire lets Tamgrowth typo nail Kartana as well as hit Ferrothorn and Mega Scizor hard. The given EV spread allows Tangrowth to live two Mega Swampert Ice Punches after Stealth Rock, while maximising its special bulk.

Pokemon such as Tapu Fini, Gliscor, Garchomp, and Heatran are stellar teammates, greatly appreciating Tangrowth’s ability to check Water-, Ground- and Grass-type threats such as Tapu Koko and Ash Greninja this part can be confusing, esp since Tapu Koko isn't water, ground or grass. I think it'd be best to encapsulate both as special attacking threats respectively. In return, they cover the Fire- and Ice-type moves from Pokemon like Weavile Gliscor and Garchomp are not eating ice moves from Weavile. and Volcarona directed at it. Because of Tangrowth’s low overall Special bulk, it can easily be overwhelmed by the likes of Ash Greninja‘s Dark Pulses, so Dark-resistant teammates such as Clefable and Tapu Koko are solid partners. Solid Entry hazard control from Pokemon such as Corviknight and Tapu Fini is a great asset to Tangrowth due to its susceptibility to being worn down by hazards.

The paragraph above can be confusing. I think it's best to lump Fini with Heatran as to why they pair well with Tang because Tang checks Koko and Ash-Gren respectively while Fini and Tran cover for the Fire- and Ice-type stuff, and then talk about Gliscor and Garchomp separately as to why they pair well with Tang.

However, Tangrowth is extremely susceptible to getting worn down by entry hazards and status and is generally passive, split the sentences here and focus more on its reliance on av; without it its basically doesn't check anything as the lack of av makes special attackers overwhelm it and the lack of physdef investment makes every physical attacker overwhelm it asw as well as its extremely reliant on Assault Vest, so it struggles to check the aforementioned threats if it gets Knocked Off. Hidden Power Ice lets Tangrowth function as an soft check to Ground-types such as Garchomp, Landorus-T, and Gliscor. Meanwhile, Hidden Power Fire lets Tangrowth nail soft check Kartana, as well as hit Ferrothorn, and Mega Scizor hard. More accurate wording imo, sciz and ferro are rendered useless against it cus hp fire forces them to roost / switch out: causing them to not set up the things they wanna set up, while kart just gets ohkod (nail implies that Kartana A. switches in on Tangrowth reliably and B. takes advantage of it, it does neither of those things and doesn't even force it out as it cannot reliably OHKO it without a +2 z move, but it cannot get +2 on hp fire tang as such making it a check). Focus Blast is a niche option that can be used in conjunction with Hidden Power Ice to hit both Kartana and Ground-type Pokemon at the same time, but has no use outside of that. Infestation can be run alongside either of the listed Hidden Powers, as it allows Tangrowth to trap and KO foes like Ferrothorn, Gliscor, and Serperior.
