With an Assault Vest, Tornadus-T turns into one of the better specially defensive pivots in the metagame that can also be an blanket check to Ground-, Fighting- and Grass-type physical attackers thanks to its typing. Hurricane is its strongest STAB move that has a nasty chance to confuse opponents. Knock Off is a fantastic utility move that removes a plethora of items: for example, it can Knock Off Choice Specs from special threats like Tapu Lele and Dragapult, which greatly hampers their ability to wallbreak without the power boost, or remove Heavy-Duty Boots, Leftovers, and Rocky Helmet from Pokemon that switch into it, such as Zapdos, Rotom-W, and Clefable. U-turn generates momentum while hitting Pokemon that threaten it like Tyranitar and Weavile super effectively. Tornadus-T has a couple of options for its final moveslot. Heat Wave allows it to hit Steel-types such as Kartana, Ferrothorn, and Melmetal super effectively, while Icy Wind is an option to hit offensive Ground-types such as Landorus-T and Garchomp if Tornadus-T is required to check them often on certain team structures. 252 HP and 88 Defense EVs allow Tornadus-T to survive Surging Strikes from Choice Band Urshifu-R at full health, while 168 Speed EVs with a Timid Nature lets it outspeed Adamant Weavile and base 110 Speed Pokemon like Gengar.

Team Options
========

Assault Vest Tornadus-T is appreciated on bulky offense teams wanting a defensive pivot that can cover both sides of the spectrum effectively. Bulky Water-types like Rotom-W, Slowbro, and defensive Tapu Fini love Tornadus-T shielding them from Grass-type attackers like Kartana and Rillaboom, while Tornadus-T can also cover Choice Specs Dragapult for Slowbro in a pinch with its boosted special bulk and access to Knock Off. In return, they can help Tornadus-T check offensive Ground-types including Swords Dance Garchomp and Excadrill that can overwhelm Tornadus-T, while Rotom-W and Tapu Fini have the bonus of being solid Weavile checks. It should be noted that Rotom-W and Slowbro can form pivoting cores with Tornadus-T via Volt Switch and Teleport respectively. This is particularly notable because Slowbro and Rotom-W draw in Grass-types that Tornadus-T threatens, such as Ferrothorn, Kartana, and Rillaboom, generating significant momentum if they manage to bring Tornadus-T safely onto the field against those threats. Steel-types make for great teammates: Ferrothorn is a sturdy stopgap against Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, and Weavile thanks to its amazing Grass / Steel dual typing; Melmetal helps Tornadus-T check threats like Dragapult and Tapu Lele while also helping out against Weavile with its mixed bulk and strong Double Iron Bash; specially defensive Heatran can stave off Zapdos, Tapu Koko, Dragapult, and Tapu Lele while physcially defensive Heatran helps against Weavile and Tyranitar. As Assault Vest Tornadus-T does not have the luxury of Heavy-Duty Boots preventing it from taking Stealth Rock damage, hazard removers are sorely needed. Sand Rush Excadrill is a fantastic teammate on sand teams as it can force out Electric-types like Tapu Koko to remove hazards with Rapid Spin, while Defoggers like Landorus-T and defensive Tapu Fini are solid hazard removal options on other team archetypes.

With an Assault Vest, Tornadus-T turns into one of the better specially defensive pivots in the metagame that can also be an emergency check to Ground-, Fighting- and Grass-type physical attackers thanks to its typing i feel like its more than an emergency check? like i wouldnt say its something you should 100% rely on but its much more than that. not having boots hurts it but like it still is a fine check to rilla esp w the spread in there w 88 def. Hurricane is its strongest STAB move that has a nasty chance to confuse opponents. Knock Off can is a fantastic utility move that removes a plethora of items: for example, it can Knock Off Choice Specs from special threats like Tapu Lele and Dragapult why do we want to remove specs you could also extend this to choice items generally, or remove Heavy-Duty Boots, Leftovers, and Rocky Helmet from Pokemon that switch into it, such as Zapdos, Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, Clefable, and Toxapex. 252 HP and 88 Defense EVs allow Tornadus-T to survive Surging Strikes from Choice Band Urshifu-R at full health, while 168 Speed EVs with a Timid Nature lets it outspeed base 110 Speed Pokemon such as the rare latis (idt theres anything else even kinda relevant?) and Adamant Weavile.

Assault Vest Tornadus-T is appreciated on you should probably note that this is more on the more bo side generally teams wanting a defensive pivot that can cover both sides of the spectrum effectively. Bulky Water-types like Rotom-W, Slowbro, and defensive Tapu Fini love Tornadus-T shielding them from Grass-type attackers like Kartana and Rillaboom, while Tornadus-T can also take on Choice Specs Dragapult i would say like soft check or something - its really not something i like to primarily trust torn w but its something it helps w for Slowbro. In return, they can help Tornadus-T check offensive Ground-types including Garchomp, Landorus-T specify sd, torn doesnt give a shit about defensive's attacks. i also wouldnt mind just cutting lando out of here, and Excadrill that can overwhelm Tornadus-T, while Rotom-W and Tapu Fini have the bonus of being solid Weavile checks. It should be noted that Rotom-W and Slowbro can form pivoring cores with Tornadus-T via Volt Switch and Teleport respectively and why is this good? you can also have a full sentence on the stuff it can bring in. As Assault Vest Tornadus-T does not have the luxury of Heavy-Duty Boots preventing it from taking Stealth Rock damage, hazard removers pair extremely well with it i would say more like are sorely needed or something. Sand Rush Excadrill is a fantastic teammate on sand teams as it can force out Electric-types like Tapu Koko to remove hazards with Rapid Spin, while Defoggers like Landorus-T and defensive Tapu Fini are solid hazard removal options on other team archetypes.

Knock Off can is mustve messed up in the edit a fantastic utility move that removes a plethora of items: for example, it can Knock Off Choice Specs from special threats like Tapu Lele and Dragapult, which greatly hampers their ability to wallbreak without the power boost, or remove Heavy-Duty Boots, Leftovers, and Rocky Helmet from Pokemon that switch into it, such as Zapdos, Tapu Koko, Rotom-W, Clefable, and Toxapex might be a good idea to remove one or two of these examples, long as fuck. probably do zap rotom toxapex? discretion.
