Arctozolt is niche and outclassed by Galarian Darmanitan and its other fossil bastardizations, Dracovish and Dracozolt. Still, STAB Electric and Ice has very few resistances within the tier and Sticky Web support can make it usable. Bolt Beak is your primary STAB move, since it hits harder against Pokemon that are slower or switch into Arctozolt. Icicle Crash covers most Ground-types that would switch into Arctozolt, such as Gastrodon and Hippowdon. Low Kick covers Ferrothorn and Mamoswine from switching into either of Arctozolt's STAB moves safely. Freeze-Dry seems odd as a fourth move, but it can deal massive damage to Seismitoad and Quagsire. A Jolly nature covers Jolly Galarian Darmanitan after Sticky Web is taken into account; however, Adamant can be used instead if you don't fear Jolly Galarian Darmanitan and would rather apply as much damage as possible. Volt Absorb is the preferred ability, since it gives Arctozolt a free switch-in versus Electric-type attacks. Don't rely on it too much, though, since Rotom-W could use Will-O-Wisp to cripple Arctozolt, or Rotom-H can fire off a STAB Overheat. If used in Trick Room, take away everything with Speed, place it into HP, and give it a Brave nature instead with 0 Speed IVs.

Arctozolt is slow and thus needs foes to be slower than it to get the most damage out of Bolt Beak. While STAB Bolt Beak will heavily damage bulkier threats such as Galarian Corsola since it's a slower threat, Arctozolt will have a difficult time bypassing faster threats such as Mamoswine and Galarian Darmantian without methods to decrease their Speed. Sticky Web is an absolute must when using Arctozolt. Ribombee is a great partner, as it can lay Sticky Web to slow down grounded foes while having access to Stun Spore to hamper Excadrill from switching into it freely. Speaking of which, Excadrill is a great partner, since it can remove Stealth Rock for Arctozolt while providing Stealth Rock support as well. Dynamax offensive sweepers that appreciate holes being punched through such as Hawlucha, Gyarados, Togekiss, and Hydreigon help compliment a Sticky Web team and appreciate breakers such as Arctozolt.

I agree, I think Life Orb is better. Life Orb really sucks for Pokemon that are weak to Rock like Arctozolt, but it's better than locking yourself into an Electric-type move in my opinion.

Arctozolt is niche and usually outclassed by its other fossil bastardizations, Dracovish and Dracozolt. Still, STAB Electric and Ice has very few resistances within the tier and Sticky Web support can make it usable. Bolt Beak is your primary STAB since it hits harder against Pokemon that are slower or switch into Arctozolt. Icicle Crash covers most Ground-types that would switch into Arctozolt such as Gastrodon and Hippowdon. Low Kick covers Ferrothorn and Mamoswine from switching into either of Arctozolt's STABs safely. Freeze-Dry seems odd as a fourth move, but it can deal massive damage to Seismitoad and Quagsire. Jolly nature covers Jolly Darmanitan-Galar after Sticky Web is taken into account; however, Adamant can be used instead if you don't fear Jolly Darmanitan-Galar and would rather apply as much damage as possible. Volt Absorb is the preferred ability since it gives Arctozolt a free switch-in versus Electric-type attacks, though don't rely on it too much since Rotom-W could use Will-O-Wisp to cripple Arctozolt or Rotom-H can fire off STAB Overheat instead. You can try Life Orb instead since it gives freedom to switch attacks at the cost of health. If used in Trick Room take away everything with Speed and place it into HP and give it a Brave nature instead. As well as 0 Speed IVs.

Sticky Web support from Ribombee helps out Dracozolt get maximum power with STAB Bolt Beak and increase its threat presence overall. I think you could clarify this sentence a bit because it's a bit convoluted right now. While STAB Bolt Beak will 2HKO bulkier threats such as Corsola-Galar since it's a slower threat, Arctozolt will have a difficult time bypassing faster threats such as Mamoswine and Darmantian-Galar without methods to decrease their Speed. Excadrill is a great partner since it can remove Stealth Rock for Arctozolt while providing Stealth Rock support as well. Other breakers such as Dracovish are great paired with Arctozolt. Dracovish appreciates Arctozolt having STAB Freeze-Dry to eliminate some of Dracovish's problematic checks such as Seismitoad while threatening Jellicent with STAB Bolt Beak and Gastrodon with STAB Icicle Crash. U-turn and Volt Switch support from Pokemon such as Dragapult or Rotom-W are appreciated as well. I think the section was getting a bit too long and figured that this'd be the best to cut. Dynamax offensive sweepers that appreciate holes being punched through such as Hawlucha, Gyarados, Togekiss, or Hydreigon help compliment a Sticky Web team and appreciate breakers such as Arctozolt.
Amazing job, 1/2.

Did.

Jordy as a response I did this instead:

"Arctozolt is slow and needs opponents to be slower than it to get the most damage out of Bolt Beak. While STAB Bolt Beak will 2HKO bulkier threats such as Corsola-Galar since it's a slower threat, Arctozolt will have a difficult time bypassing faster threats such as Mamoswine and Darmantian-Galar without methods to decrease their Speed. I think this helps explain things smoother as to what the problems are and how to rectify it with Ribombee.

Choice Band and Life Orb both have problems on this thing since it gets worn down easy due to its SR weakness and doesn't appreciate being locked into Electric moves. How about mentioning or slashing a different item instead? Something like Expert Belt could be viable on it (works for choice lock bluffing, it's hitting a lot of things super effectively with its coverage, it still 2HKOs corsola with bolt beak), or even the timbs to prevent it from being worn down since its so vulnerable to hazards and switch matchups against opposing Sticky Web teams.

  • In the opening line, mention it's not only outclassed by fellow fossils but by honestly a lot of other viable wallbreakers. Galarian Darmanitan, especially.
  • I think I'd make it more clear in the team-options-ish part that you want web support on this! I can't imagine using this mon outside of webs.
Everything else is great, glad to have you writing analysis again friend :]
