Winner!

And hopefully I'll start us off!

:ss/Zygarde:
New Pokémon Name: Zygarde-Wyrm
Stat Changes: 88 HP / 71 Atk / 101 Def / 122 SpA / 99 SpD / 79 Spe [BST: 560]
Typing Changes:

Ability Changes: Aura Break* / Power Construct* | HA: Weak Armor
Movepool Changes (If Any):
Leech Life, U-turn, Lunge
Bug Buzz, Signal Beam
Nasty Plot
Thousand Arrows
Earth Power, Core Enforcer
What Separates it from Other Forms:
Zygarde-Wyrm is a hardcore special wallbreaker with Nasty Plot, relying on its powerful Dual STAB to bully the opposition.

:Ss/zygarde-10:
New Pokémon Name: Zygarde-Canid
Stat Changes: 88 HP / 101 Atk / 99 Def / 71 SpA / 79 SpD / 122 Spe [BST: 560]
Typing Changes:

Ability Changes: Aura Break* / Power Construct* | HA: Strong Jaw
Movepool Changes (If Any):
Psychic Fangs, Thunder Fang, Ice Fang, Fire Fang
Psychic
Parting Shot
Thousand Waves, Earthquake
Core Enforcer
What Separates it from Other Forms:
Unlike it's compatriots, Zygarde-Canid is designed to be a fast wallbreaker that utilizes its high speed to pivot around. It can also serve as a late game cleaner.

:ss/Zygarde-Complete:
New Pokémon Name: Zygarde-Goliath
Stat Changes: 88 HP / 99 Atk / 122 Def / 79 SpA / 101 SpD / 71 Spe [BST: 560]
Typing Changes:

Ability Changes: Aura Break* / Power Construct* | HA: Unaware
Movepool Changes (If Any):
nil
nil
Stealth Rock
Thousand Arrows, Thousand Waves, Earthquake
Earth Power
Coil, Dragon Dance
What Separates it from Other Forms:
This version of Zygarde is an absolute unit defensively, being able to shrug off a variety of hits thanks to it's impressive 88/122/101 bulk. Unaware also makes it serve as a check to many a scary set up sweeper. But alas, without Recovery, it can still be adequately worn down, and probably loses 1v1 versus the other Zygardes.

Thousand Arrows - 25 BP. Hits Three to Six times. Carries the same Effect as in standard.
Thousand Waves - Ground Special Magma Storm clone
Land's Wraith - 120 BP. 95% Acc. 10 PP. 1/4 of Damage dealt is healed ala Giga Drain.

Aura Break - This Pokemon ignores the effects certain Abilities of other Pokemon have on their moves.

Power Construct - At 50% or less the power of Dragon type moves are boosted by 33%.
Thank you to everyone who has participated in this Pet Mod. It has been quite a journey, filled with ups and downs, but in spite of that, we made it. We arrived at our end goal. We hit 25 Slates! 128 Pokémon! That's quite the accomplishment. As we steadily approach the new year, Pet Mod of the Season is looming on the horizon, we can expect our recently completed Pet Mod to see a surge in new players and see our fledgling meta develop at a rapid rate. Will The Big Three finally be toppled, or will a nerf finally nail our resident S ranks? Where will all the Silvallies truly end their journey? Will Genesect-Password-Protected, literal game breaking user claim the throne? Catastroform????? I guess next year will be the time to find out.

Of course, playtesting between now and launch on main will definitely happen and we plan to maybe do a few last min tweaks, but the meta, sans for The Big Three will 100% be largely the same when it goes as it is now. After which council will no longer be actively reworking, buffing or nerfing anything. But what does that mean for future top tiers and current D ranks? I plan on simply oprning up submissions to facilitate a full rework. This keeps the meta fresh and allows for community imput to still have sway even after the meta is completed, while allowing newcomers to still leave their mark if they choose to do so.

Well, other than that, this is me signing out on another completed assignment

New upload! Today, I'll be playing some of my first Alternatium games and using the fact that I fought a rain team as clickbait. I'd like to give a huge thanks to G-Luke and ViZar for their help on too many fronts for me to go over, as well as Superior Serperior and abismal for the games and Scoopapa for all of the work he's done helping put this mod on main! Hope you guys enjoy the video and I hope you all have a successful PMoTS!

Hello everyone! If you are here because of the recent ladder debut, welcome to Alternatium! I hope you have a great time. Time to address a few things.

Firstly, our team is well aware of the current hubbub on the ladder - the lack of teambuilder support, Spikes not working and the disappearance of past gen moves among other smaller issues (Vivillions are bust, I think some Light Ball Pikachus are not working right). Wr are hard at work to alleviate some of these stressing issues and hopefully they can be fixed sooner rather than later. Of course, with no teambuilder support, it must be hard for new players to hop fresh into the metagame, so I have made sure to get the Viability Rankings, the official spreadsheet of all changes / modifications and our Role Compendium as up to date as possible so newer users can know exactly what are the top threats and what these things do. In addition to that, I have sample teams provided by our community, designed to help ease the users into the metagame. And remember, a glance at the spreadsheet and the use of the Import / Export option can be highly useful for you users.

I also got a few Pokémon to discuss, based on our two to three days on ladder, specifically how good they are, some to say how bad they are, and even a few to say how (potentially) broken they are.

The Good

:ss/Eiscue-Noice:
Eiscue-Noice @ Heavy-Duty Boots
Ability: Water Bubble
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Oilslick
- Triple Axel
- Liquidation
- Gunk Shot

Eiscue-Noice breaks out onto the scene as an excellent pivot, utilizing its superb speed tier and weirdly effective coverage that its "three" STAB options provide to gain momentum versus the vast majority of the tier. Oilslick, its Signature move that is a Poison type U-turn clone grabs momentum off of non Steel type switchins, and most Steels in the tier do not appreciate a Water Bubble Liquidation to the face. It lacks booying however, maiing Pokemon that it can't hit for SE hard to muscle past, and the majority of Bulky Water type Pokémon serve as respectable checks. Zamazenta-Crowned :Zamazenta-Crowned: deserves a special mention as it completely roadblocks it, and can proceed to set Rocks or Knock Off the incoming switch in. Regardless of this fact, Eiscue-Noice is a great Pokémon and should be accounted for on every team.

:ss/corsola-galar:
Corsoul @ Leftovers
EVs: 252 HP / 124 Def / 132 SpD
Ability: Liquid Scales
Sassy Nature
- Scald / Will O Wisp
- Poltergeist
- Strength Sap
- Stealth Rock

The definitive Bulky water of the tier, Corsoul provides a lot to team building. It compresses a SR check, a Deoxys-Speed counter, general Special Wall (and physical if it gets off a burn + Strength Sap tbh), you name it, it may be able to do it. Poltergeist allows it to be able to do big damage even for a defensive Pokemon, ensuring that it is no passive wall. But arguably it's defining feature is it's signature ability Liquid Scales, which heal it of 1/10th it's maximum HP after being hit by a move, extending its survivability by a lot and honestly allowing it to live hits it probably should not be able to. Time will tell if this ability proves too much for the metagame.

:ss/muk:
Muk @ Black Sludge
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Atk / 252 SpD
Ability: Water Absorb
Careful Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Gunk Shot / Poison Jab
- Moonlight

Poison / Ground is a great defensive typing. A Poison / Ground type with Water Absorb? Really clutch. Blanketing most water types in the tier is a great niche for Muk, and doing so while setting Rocks is most helpful. Its anti meta nature is why it's so quickly rose up as a great tank to eat all manner of hits in the metagame.

:ss/keldeo:
Keldeo @ Choice Band
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Swift Swim
Adamant Nature
- Liquidation
- Flip Turn
- Close Combat
- Aqua Jet / Knock Off

Keldeo was designed to put Rain on map, and it most certainly does! Keldeo is a menace under the weather, being able to shred almost any threat it faces with it's Rain Boosted Liquidations. Almost anything that eats a Liquidation folds to Close Combat, and Flip Turn provides an easy means to grab momentum against most switchins for its teammates or itself to muscle past later.

The Bad

:ss/thundurus-therian:
Thundurus-Therian @ Life Orb / Heavy Duty Boots
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def /252 Spe
Ability: Levitate
Timid Nature
- Thunderbolt
- Draco Meteor
- Hidden Power [Ice] / Hidden Power [Ground]
- Nasty Plot / U-turn / Focus Blast

Thundurus-Therian was an anti-meta wallbreaker, and unfortunately in true meta fashion, the metagame evolved past it. Electric / Dragon coverage became trivial to wall, 101 speed is no longer a prime offensive speed tier and simply faster and or stronger options became available. ThundyT is still usable, perhaps the best of the "bad" options, but imo requires alot of support to pull off.

(Most) :ss/silvally:

This is a more of a blanket statement, but most of the Sivallies are bad choices in comparision to other Pokémon of a similar type. Whether it's meh abilities, eh movepool, stiff competition or just a fundamentally bad typing, a lot of Silvallies have seen better days, and a few have never seen any. Notable exceptions include Silvally Fairy, Water, Dark, Ground, Normal and Dragon. Steel is also clutch as the only Magnet Puller in the game.

:ss/Darmanitan:
Darmanitan @ Choice Band
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Ability: Sheer Force
Jolly Nature
- Flare Blitz
- Body Slam
- Earthquake
- U-turn / Knock Off / Rock Slide

Its no secret that, with the exception of one Pokémon, Fire types in Alternatium have seen better days. With the tier overprepping for Deoxys-Speed and the ever looming presense of POgre, its hard for a hot Pokemon in this meta. This is no more apparent than in the case of Darmanitan, a Pokémon that at one point, was so great in the metagame it required the very first nerf / rework for the tier, substituting Dark for Normal. It has never been the same since. Almost all Fire resists are physically leaning, and quite a lot of them either resist or are outright immune to Normal, or in the case if Slowbro, just does not care. It also faces competition as a breaker from its brethren Darmanitan-Galar, who is quite good thanks to Technician Triple Axel + Rock Blast busting through quite a few walls rn. Darm has been through alot, and as it is right now, is a pretty terrible pick.

:ss/castform:
Catastroform @ Damp Rock / Heat Rock
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Forecast
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Weather Ball
- Hyper Voice
- Recover / Thunder / Ice Beam

Catastroform is a mess of a mon. With a peculiar and hard to trigger ability and a therefore awkward typing because of it, Catastroform as struggled with finding a niche ever since it's inception into the tier. Weather is not particularly bad atm, but Cat almost feels like a momentum sink there, which is weird since it's ability triggers if weather is present and extends it (as long as its holding a Weather Rock). That last part makes Cat really awkward to fit on a team, as its too weak to used as a breaker with no boosting item and Normal type on a whole is not very good offensively. All weather teams have better ways to set weather so its not even particularly good for that either. Definitely needs a rework if it wants to go forward.

The (Potentialy) Broken

:ss/kyogre-primal: :ss/deoxys-speed:...... :ss/sandslash: (?)

The Big Three. These Pokemon have more or less defined the course of this entire metagame ever since they debuted on the scene, with each of them appearing one after the other. So metagame warping that several checks have sprung up to tackle these foes, to varying degrees of success. KyogreP is the most outstanding member of the trio. It DEMANDS counterplay lest you be swiftly ohkoed by Specs, be outstalled by Rest Talk or set up on by argubly its most defining set, Calm Mind. It has the stats, the typing, the small but quite effective movepool and the demonic ability Primordial Sea, making it essentially the perfect Pokemon. Deoxys-Speed is a seemingly unassuming speedy frail Pokemon, but is completely carried by its wacko signature ability Power Core, which prevents any stat changes from occuring, while simultaneously protecting it from all hazards. This makes Overheat and Psycho Boost risk free moves to spam, and combining with the third fastest speed in the tier and effectively sporting two items, Deoxys-Speed is one of the chief revengekillers and wallbreakers in the tier. Its the reason why bulky Dark types are so prevalent in the metagame, and while unlike Kyogre, the metagame has more or less adapted to it's presence, its still an extremely dangerous threat and decimates teams if their checks have been accounted for. Sandslash-Lustrous is the last of the Big Three and is by far the easiest to answer. Multiple campaigns to defeat theperfect coverage Ground Fairy offers has led to a masive influx of Grass, floating mons and a decrease in dragons. But as of late, imo its fallen off. Make no mistake, its not bad at all, and still is arguably the fourth or so best Pokemon in the tier. But recently, a new Pokemon has risen to quite quickly cement itself as a defensive powerhouse, and it is one that completely nullifies any attempts of Sandslash sweeping. It really nullifies any attempts of sweeping altogether. Of course, the mon in question is...

:ss/shaymin:
Shaymin @ Leftovers / Toxic Orb
EVs: 252 HP / 160 Def / 96 Spe
Ability: Unaware / Poison Heal
Bold Nature
- Giga Drain / Seed Flare
- Knock Off
- Recover
- Leech Seed / Earth Power / Toxic

Shaymin was created with one goal in mind - disrupt the Big Three. And indeed it does. With a typing that naturally matches up with 2/3 of the core S ranks, ridiculous 115/115/95 bulk, and an annoyingly effective support movepool, Shaymin just never dies. Unless you pack a SE STAB attack, you can't truly dent it, and must rely on status and other means to cripple it. Of course every means of screwing over its main Unaware set get tossed out the way if it decides to pack Poison Heal, and even still, it can pack cheeselike Aromatherapy to soove the status fears of its Unaware set. Never has one defensive Pokemon been so prominent since DarmBro days, which inexplicably enough, are the genesis for the individual crration of the Big Three anyway. Its simply too effective a wall, and imo is a much better Pokemon than Sandslash-Lustrous. With its identity so tied to the Big Three, any nerfs to them will be likely to affect this as well.

We hopefully that deep dive will help players figure out what's hot and what's not. After one week of playtesting, we will have our first week Balance Patch, in order to root out any majorly offending presences that run amok in the tier. So look forward to that.

Its been over a week since we launched on main, and we have seen first hand how certain things have shaoed out balance wise. So we came together and thought exactly what sucks and what is wack, and we got to buffing and nerfing. Here we are.

Buffs

:ss/darmanitan:
+Fire/Dark typing

Darmanitan long ago was broken. We nerfed it to Fire Normal. It immediately sucked for a couple meta cyles until it became unviable. Now we buff it back again. Revenge of Depressed Gay look its back. With just how much the meta changed, I dont see this version causing too much problems as it did in the past. If it did that would be embarassing.

:ss/thundurus-therian:
+15 Speed

Making Thundy faster than (almost) every Dragon reaffirms its place as the funky anti meta breaker / pivot, while still having to pick its coverage smarter, can rest assured in its place in the meta, as 116 speed is a funny tier that creeps alot of big metagame threats

:ss/raticate:
+Swords Dance

The (three) people asked for it! And thus it shall come to pass! Swords Dance greatly increases the offensive pressure it exerts against teams, as a +2 Facade is scary to take on. Its rather terrible anti Steel coverage (Fire Punch + Stomping Tantrum) should help keep this Pokémon in check.

:ss/cramorant::ss/cramorant-gorging:
+Beak Blast, +Knock Off, +Nasty Plot, +Focus Blast, +U-turn, +Stealth Rock (Base)
+10 Def, +15 Atk, +U-turn (Gorging)

Base Cramorant is awful. Like, horrible. It plays like worse Cummulus. These new moves hopefully allow it to somewhat carve out its own niche from the dominating bird man. Gorging just got a small defense bump and a adequate attack bump to make Unburden sets more appealing to use.

Now onto something more people are looking forward to see!

Nerfs

:ss/morpeko-hangry:
-Power Trip

I completely forgot to bring this up, but now that I remember, Belly Drum sets are ridiculously powerful thanks to STAB Power Trip. I've seen this Pokemon set up and then simply be unwallable, allowing it to even get off an Agility to make Trip EVEN STRONGER. Now Drum sets are still good but nowhere near as unstoppable.

:ss/sandslash:
-Fire Punch

This just removes a major teambuilding stresser and ensures that Rotom-Fan doesnt instalose once its Wisp misses (trust me it happened multiple times). With how it has settled in Sandslash has been quite comfortable and easier to maange, so this is just tying up lose ends.

:ss/deoxys-speed:
Power Core no longer protects against hazards.

Having such a defining ability be on Deoxys-Speed allow it to rule the meta for quite some time. Even if the meta has somewhat adapted to it, the stress it caused on teambuikding was determined to be too much for the meta, and thus Power Core was nerfed. Maybe this will make Pressure sets more viable?

:ss/shaymin:
-15 HP, -10 Def, -5 SpD, -Unaware, +Oblivious
+Topsy Turvy

Shaymin was too bulky for its own good, stomaching hits it had no business eating and being a general pain for teams to break. This bulk nerf coupled with the loss of Unaware should make it easier to break through. To reminsce on not being set up bait, I gave it Topsy Turvy.

:ss/kyogre-primal:
-All Grass type moves
-Calm Mind
+Water/Ice typing
+Ice Beam, +Frosth Breath, +Ice Shard, +Blizzard, +Haze, +Aurora Veil, +Mist, +Icicle Crash
+Primordial Frost

(Ice - Special - 90% Acc - 10 PP - 160 BP - The user cannot move on the next turn. Summons Mist upon use.)

Kyogre -Primal is a broken Pokemon. The combo of bulk, defensive typing, utility and raw overwhelming power made it unmatched in the metagame. With the loss of its Water Grass typing for Water Ice and the loss of CM, this forces POgre to drop the slow set up based sets its famous for and rely on playing aggresively. A SR weakness is also a major bummer, making RestTalk sets undesirable and putting Specs on a timer. Hopefully this, will be enough, so start stacking water types

Lastly, a few Pokemon have been deemed for multiple reasons to require a complete rework.

:ss/genesect-douse:
Genesect-Password has a complex position in the metagame. It is an extremely matchup basedPokemon, either doing little in a match or absolutely devastating teams all depending on if Private Wifi can be triggered. Shock Drive is the worst offender, but even so, the mon was simply very difficult to lrep for it while handling other major threats. Normally this would just get a nerf, but a major aspect of Genesect-Password is that it has different forms depending on what Drive it holds. This means we have an alternate form of an already alternate form of Genesect, making the sub technically go against the whole point of the mod. Its this reason plus its matchup fishy nature that has qualified it for a rework.

:ss/castform:
We already got into why Castform is that bad, but basically the mon is bad down to its very concept, so tackling from a fresh perspective should help it out.

:ss/gourgeist-large:
Gourgeist-Pulpy has been uncodeable since its inception, it in addition to already having two forms with similar statlines and the exact typing, I deemed that approaching the mon from a brand new angle is the best approach to introducing it to the meta.

So, these Pokemon will be submitted for as if they were never in the mod, and will be open to everyone to resub as a brand new addition to the metagame.

:castform: :genesect: :gourgeist: Rework Slate :gourgeist: :genesect: :castform:

:ss/castform: :ss/genesect-douse: :ss/gourgeist-large: + Drives!
Genesect-Douse, Castform and Gourgeist-Large are in need of a rework to fit into our brand new metagame? Are you up to the challenge to do so?

i know people are bummed that Password's gimmick (the Drives) i s probably defunct, but fear not, as Pokemon are not the only things being reworked. Yes, the Drives are up for grabs too! You can submit up to Four different Drives, and rework them for either a specific Genesect or all Genesects. At the end, we vote for each Drive seperately. Have fun everyone!

:ss/genesect-douse:
New Pokémon Name: Genesect-Password (not password-protected, just password)
Stat Changes: 85/100/85/100/85/115 (570)
Typing Changes:

Ability Changes: Private Wi-Fi (Boosts the user's and opponent's highest stat when sharing a type.)
Burn Blast, Chill Blast, Douse Blast, Shock Blast
Name: Burn/Chill/Douse/Shock Blast
Power: 60
Accuracy: 95%

/

Effect: 1.5x power with matching drive. Sets Sun/Hail/Rain/Electric Terrain before attacking.
Priority: 0
Flags: Protect, Mirror
Intended Roles: Steel-type Switch-in
What Separates it from Other Forms: I wanted to keep the stat boost from its ability and I wanted to keep variety/use for the Drives. In this version, I made it bulkier and faster, but also weaker. It is now pure Steel, letting it being checked by the same mons. The Blast moves provide utility by setting a weather or terrain and allow its Techno Blast to have a pseudo STAB. Okay without Chill, but you get the idea.

:ss/castform:
New Pokémon Name: Catastriophorm
Stat Changes: 116/83/90/100/90/121 (600)
Typing Changes:

Ability Changes: Forecast (Sets weather depending on Weather Rock. Weather cannot be changed when this Pokemon is active)
U-turn
Name: Weather Bomb
Power: 90
Accuracy: 100%
PP: 10
Category:

Type:

Effect: If weather is active, target is hit by a Weather Ball on the next turn.
Priority: 0
Flags: Protect, Mirror
Intended Roles: Weather Support
What Separates it from Other Forms: Hopefully this time I don't make it garbage. With its new Forecast, it is able to support weather teams more easily. Weather Bomb might seem like a annoying move, since it's basically a Future Sight clone, but this mon needs to get good somehow. It's not only Weather support, but also a good weather abuser, thanks to its permanent weather boosted, Weather Balls and its coverage, alongside Calm Mind. I removed some of its Attack too, since it's useless.

:ss/gourgeist-large:
I don't think that this Pokemon needs a rework, since it wasn't coded until now, so we have no idea if it is good or not. I do however, agree that we might change its typing, but I don't think that should be up for competition with subs and rather a discussion with the discord server or the thread.

:ss/castform:
Castform
Type:

Ability: Forecast - Ice, Fire, and Water-type moves deal 1.5x damage
80 / 75 / 65 / 130 / 75 / 110 | 535 BST
Movepool: +Freeze Dry, Scald, Flip Turn, Calm MInd, Aurora Veil, Will-o-Wisp, Soak
Reasoning: Castform gets effectively triple STAB (it doesn't have any viable Normal-type moves). The combination of Freeze Dry with Water and Fire is extremely potent and it would probably pose a threat every time it came in. However, it's a glass cannon in a metagame where a lot of faster pokemon with demonic power levels exist. It's going to need some defensive teammates and pivoting to work properly.

:ss/genesect-douse:
Genesect-Douse
Type:

Ability: Flare Boost
90 / 100 / 80 / 100 / 100 / 100 | 570 BST
Movepool: +Steam Eruption, Scald, Flip Turn, Liquidation, Stealth Rock, -Shift Gear, Thunderbolt, Thunder, Ice Beam, Blizzard, Energy Ball, Giga Drain
Techno Blast - Steel type for this pokemon, 120 BP, 80% Acc.,
Reasoning: This is a bulky wall breaker that can set Stealth Rock, a nice pokemon to have on offensive teams. Its Speed tier is not the best and it has a coverage gap for Water types, but it should be able set Stealth Rock and do some damage in most matches. It should also be very strong on rain teams.

Drives: These each work for all Genesects. The interactions with Techno Blast remain the same for each Genesect. They're based on existing items that each have a buff in addition to a small nerf.
Chill Drive - Raises Def right before the opponent uses any attacking move. One time use.
Shock Drive - User's physical attacks deal 40% increased damage, but it loses 12.5% of its max HP each turn it uses one
Douse Drive - User regains 10% HP when it uses an attacking move.
Burn Drive - User is immune to hazards except for Sticky Web. Fire moves gain 1/3 HP drain.

What Separates it from Other Forms: Fast Adaptability user with pivoting and hazard support. Its Drives give it hard-to-scout coverage (Drives no longer change its form) at the cost of an item slot, though its mediocre attacking stats might leave it short of important KOs.

This pokemon's Fire / Ice / Electric / Water moves have 1.5x power + Original effects from the changes to the drives from the original sub (Charge, 1.25x speed and accuracy, 1.3x attack, 1.25x defenses)
Genesect-Password-Protected is still cracked sorry. Arguably almost nothing has changed about this Pokémon other than the fact that it keeps Bug Steel, which also just steps all over regular Genesect. I'm asking you to change the monnor the drives in such a way to balance it back out.

Also please remember, unless specified otherwise, all stats, moves and abilities will be assumed to be the same as REGULAR Genesect, since these mons are being rebooted.

I was hoping we got more subs but alas, subs close on the 31st.

Voting time. Vote for your favorite of the modifications this slate. For both Gourgeist-Large and The Genesect Drives, the option to vote for their currently implemented variants is up for grabs

e.g.
Gourgeist-Large: G-Luke, No Change, Yoshiblaze

This example here, my modification gets 3 points, No Change gets 2 and Yoshi's would get 1.

Voting ends in 48 Hours!

Castform: ViZar, Scoopapa, Regic Boat
Genesect: Scoopapa, ViZar, Sappy60
Gourgeist: No Change, Regic Boat, (not enough subs, so this last place is free)

Ok no bother.
Winners!

(No changes to Gourgeist-Large).

Congratz to Scoopapa for winning!

To prepare for PMPL, I did some matches and build teams (which are all lost cause I forgot to save them). I figured that I should do some nominations and give my thoughts on some of the Pokemon. I already shared some of them in the discord, but I wanted to make a greater post about them and there were some I missed. First up, I'd like to mention, that there were some code issues, which have been fixed. However, there might still be more, so if you find any, just let me know via Discord.

I think that the meta is in a really good state now. You could argue that some Pokemon might need a nerf, but those nerfs are most likely pretty minimalistic and don't change much aside from making it easier to deal with the Pokemon. With no changes in the foreseeable future, I feel pretty comfortable to make these nominations.

Servus!

With me dropping out of PMPL, I still wanted to contribute to this tournament. Therefore I wanted to provide some Analysis and Sample Sets for the Pokemon in this meta. This list is based on my personal VR and with there being 100+ Pokemon in here, I won't be able to cover everything here, but I will update this regulary. For today (12th April 2022) I want to cover the two S rank Pokemon (it's already a lot; Corsoul will come later today).

Also don't worry, there's no Rick Roll. Moretto has rickrolled me in Paleomons and I know the pain.

Servus. With PMPL almost over and all Alternatium games played, I decided to talk a bit about the used Pokemon and their usage.

I want to add a disclaimer since I haven't seen a majority of the replays. The reason why I didn't or rather don't bother to watch them, is because my motivation for this mod has pretty much died. Largely because of PMPL, but also a lot projects that I started and ultimatively left out. I mean, the "Sets for every Pokemon" project and my articles on "Ground-types in Alternatium" and "Suspect Coverage: Rotom-Fan" are drowning at the bottom of the ocean and I don't think that anyone would be excited to see those post.

Therefore, this will be my last post in this thread, that isn't an announcement or something. I'm doing this post for a sense of accomplishment.

With that out of the way, some Pokemon and their usage.

:ss/sandslash::ss/rotom-fan:
It shouldn't be surprising that these two are the most used Pokemon. With 47.06% (:sandslash:) and 50% (:rotom-fan:) respectively, they have proven why they are two of the best Pokemon to use. Sandslash-L has a great offensive typing and its utility moves in Knock Off and Rapid Spin make it even better and effective in every game. Rotom-F on the other hand has incredible defensive utility, and in PMPL, it used this utility to abuse offensive sets. With Trick Scarf and NP sets being some of the strongest and most dangerous sets in the entire tour.

:ss/slowbro:
With 32.35% usage and being third place, Slowbro has proven that is not only a physical tank that sits around. Sure, this is its main trait, but the chip damage it provides is really great. Rocky Helmet and Scald chip damage are huge for breaking through teams and Slowbro and even run Stealth Rock and open a moveslot on an offensive teammate. Teleport is also great support. Of course, Slowbro has a 4MSS and it can't do everything. It's also rather passive on top of that. Nevertheless, Slowbro is still a solid Pokemon.

:ss/slowking-galar:
Barely behind Slowbro with 29.41%, Slowking-Galar takes up forth place. Dark/Poison combined with Regenerator, good bulk and a varied movepool make for one of the best pivots in the meta. It has so many opportunities to come in and threaten certain Pokemon out. Ground-types being so good in the meta hurts it, but the presence of dangerous Special Attackers such as Eternatus, Rotom-Fan, Deoxys-Speed and defensive Pokemon such as Shaymin, Corsoul, Slowbro, make Slowking-Galar more effective.

:ss/landorus-therian::ss/corsola-galar::ss/zygarde-complete::ss/rotom:
On the other hand, seeing these four with so low usage is a bit odd. Landorus-B has a usage of 14.71% while the other three share the 11.76% usage. They have great traits and usually fit on most teams, but it is easy to see why. Sandslash-L gives both Landorus-B and Zygarde-G competition while being more useful offensively and providing more utility. On top of that Rotom-F hard counters both. Slowking-G is a huge thorn in Rotom's and Corsoul's sight and all of Rotom-F, Slowbro and Darmanitan-Z did their job better.

:ss/kyogre::ss/keldeo:
Rain popping up in some of the last games was a bit surprising. Alternatium never really experimented with Rain or weather teams in general. Largely with the dominance of Kyogre-P and Groudon-P. However, with Kyogre-P's nerf before PMPL and Groudon-P's low usage, Rain was able to show that it's a fearsome presence. The lack of other weather viable also helped it a lot. Kyogre is a versatile offensive threat, with its solid stats and good coverage, but Keldeo's physical power added a new layer of terror. In hindsight, Shaymin and Corsoul check them pretty well and with those Rain isn't overpowered or anything but it's nice to see a weather popping up.

:ss/cramorant-gorging:
Before the finaly, Cramorant-G only had 1 use before, but both finalists used in their battle, giving it a usage rate of 8.82%. Terrains have really good setters, with Slowking providing good backbone, Silvally-Grass and Genesect-TD being good offensive threats and Silvally-Fairy being a middle ground of both. We don't talk about Zacian. The presence of those Pokemon give it the push to sweep lategame, with Electric and Flying being a good offensive combination. I would say that Silvally-Grass is the best for it when it runs Roost, since it can benefit from weakened EQs and the extra 6.25% when roosting. But all of them are good support for it.

:ss/silvally-steel::ss/silvally-grass::ss/silvally-ground::ss/silvally-dark::ss/silvally-electric::ss/silvally-fire::ss/silvally-water:
It was also nice to see a varied use of Silvally, but with varied effectiveness and usage as well. Silvally-Steel was the most used, with 17.65%, and it is pretty much the best check or even counter to Rotom-Fan. Its defensive typing, access to Recover and good coverage made it a solid Pokemon in itself, but trapping Rotom-Fan, and by extension other Steels like Darmanitan-Z, Aegishield and Fibormadam, was its main use. Silvally-Grass and Silvally-Ground had a usage rate of 8.82% and both of them had solid success. Ground went from defensive to more offensive sets in early to mid PMPL, while Grass showed up in mid and late PMPL to support its team with Terrain and abuse it itself. Dark, Water, Fire and Electric had usage of 2.94% and only the former two had good games where their traits were of good use.

With that, I will end my last post here. It was a fun time, but the fun did eventually end.
Here are usage stats, if anyone is interested.

Ciao Servus!
