Pet Mod Alternatium - Post PMPL Rework

alternatium as it is currently is hypercentralized on maybe 10-20 mons. council decided the meta needs an upheaval so prepare yourself for a massive amount of changes:

93/111/75/69/85/97

+ Air Lock
- Delta Stream
these are the current top dogs of the meta and were simply too overtuned. with less atk sandslash doesnt 2hko everything with double edge and without delta stream fantom is much more easily pressured offensively.


101/95/75/95/75/109
deltasect's speed makes it very constraining when matching up against offense builds given its immunity to priority and hard-hitting expanding forces. this nerf should make it easier to outspeed.


90/75/140/95/75/30
slowbro's physical bulk is insane, only being 2hkod by sandslash's double-edge at +2. the nerf should make it easier to boost past as a physical wallbreaker.


- Strong Jaw
with slowbro's nerf this mon has few checks, so its power has been nerfed as well.

60/60/140/50/130/60
+ Stealth Rock, Teleport, Spectral Thief
while aegishield's bulk is impressive it has pretty much no utility. this should help it support the team better.


+ Nasty Plot
this should greatly boost its viability as a sand abuser.


120/85/85/108/75/111
keldeo largely overshadows this mon as a rain abuser so it was only natural to distinguish it by making it specially inclined.


+ Trick Room
Coral Crash is now 110 BP with 90% accuracy

corsola's niche as a poison-immune cm mon has largely faded out so it gains a new role as an otr mon.


+ Flamethrower
minor buff to give it stronger coverage for steels.

+ Body Press, Rapid Spin, Spikes
dugtrio-a's utility and special bulk left much to be desired. this should help it support the team better.

+ Swords Dance
- Belly Drum
eiscue struggles to distinguish itself from kyogre-primal, so we leaned into supporting fishious rend.


Dark/Flying
while grass gave it stab leaf blade it also made it both weak against steels and difficult to switch in. this change should kill two birds with one stone.


Fighting/Ground
+ Earthquake

as a monofighting farf-g is outclassed by cram-g. adding another stab should distinguish the two.


+ 10 Atk
very minor buff to boost the power of shift gear sets.


+ Thunderbolt, Energy Ball
minor buff to add coverage for water-types.


+ Flip Turn
Primordial Frost now has 130 BP and drops the user's SpA by two stages

kyogre-p's nerf was a bit harsh and right now its pretty mediocre. this change solidifies it as a very strong and slow wallbreaker.


Fire/Ground
75/115/95/65/80/112
- Rock Head
lycanroc having pu stats did it no favors so its stats have been souped up and now it has a better typing that differentiates itself from groudon-p.


Normal/Fairy
Relic Song is now Fairy and hits Steel-types supereffectively

normal/psychic is not a great typing defensively and especially offensively, so fairy was given to strengthen its calm mind sets.

+ Regenerator
Light Blast is now 80 BP

mimikyu having no recovery or effective ability made it almost unviable. in addition, its signature move was way too weak to be noteworthy. with regenerator it becomes a very effective defensive pivot.

+ Rock Head

- Transistor
mimikyu-s has the coverage to break apart common defensive cores but those moves make it kill itself too quickly. with rock head, head smash, and a buffed speed tier, it has a much stronger offensive presence.

+ U-Turn, Recover
muk is hard to justify on a team because its bulk is a bit lacking and fantom uses it as setup fodder. with reliable recovery and a pivoting move it becomes more effective as a defensive pivot.


80/70/85/120/85/100
ninetales-a has a heatran-like feel to it, having a similar speed tier and an ice-type magma storm. of course, it is much worse than heatran due to its ice typing, so a speed buff was needed. this should indirectly buff sandslash-a as well, who has seen little use.


Light Ball cannot be knocked off when held by Pikachu, Pikachu-Belle, Pikachu-Idol, Pikachu-Libre, or Pikachu-Partner
makes them much more consistent in power.

Electric/Grass
+ Giga Drain, Energy Ball, Leaf Storm

- all Psychic-type attacks
pikachu-phd suffers from its defensive typing, where most hazard setters have ground stab or coverage. this change makes it a better pivot.


Grass/Steel
+ Stomping Tantrum

- High Horsepower

psychic was an absolutely awful second typing. with steel its steelworker-boosted iron heads hurt much more.

better speed tier to make up for its mediocre typing.


+ Electric Surge
- Lightning Rod
electric surge makes this mon more powerful and more useful for unburden mons.


+ Steam Engine
- Flash Fire
with steam engine it can now switch into fire and some water-type attacks and use nasty plot to deal serious damage to teams.


Psychic/Water
95/95/110/110/70/30
Shell Side Arm is now Water-type
slowbro-g's bulk is mediocre and its awkward defensive typing does it no favors. with this change it can be a more effective cm user.

+ Spirit Shackle, Encore

this distinguishes itself from pulpygeist.


+ Calm Mind, Surf
minor buff to leverage its physical bulk and hit grounds better.


+ Earth Power, Roost
minor buff to check fantom better and hit steels harder.

minor buff to improve its offensive presence

- Hurricane
having no coverage is really bad so we fixed it with tinted lens.

+ Jungle Healing, Earthquake, Spectral Thief, Megahorn
minor buffs to give better STABs and coverage.


+ Grav Apple, Magic Coat, Taunt
minor buffs to lean into worm's suicide lead role more.


Fighting/Poison
+ Poison Jab

monofighting is not a good typing so it gets poison stab for a better defensive typing and forcing out fairies better.

Dragon/Dark
+ Swords Dance, Gunk Shot

dragon/psychic is a super awkward offensive typing. with sd it has a better offensive presence.


Land's Wrath now heals for 50% of the damage dealt
applies to all zygardes and was more of an oversight as healing for 25% is just weird.


+ Tail Glow, Core Enforcer, Stored Power, Heal Order
wyrmgarde was unviable due to its bad offensive typing and lack of recovery. with tail glow and a much more spammable stab, though, it can be a big threat with weak armor.

- all Dragon-type moves, all Psychic-type moves, Superpower
- Solar Power

groudon being the only chlorophyll mon (and it not being very good at that) is very sad. meanwhile exeggutor-l is hard to justify over its kanto counterpart due to the latter's better offensive typing. so here's a more dedicated sun setter that's radically different from exeggutor base.

all the gourgeists being ghost type was pretty boring and basegeist was really hard to justify using because it was walled by slowking-g, a very splashable special wall. this rework makes it a bulky setup mon thats very different from the other gourgeists.

muk-o is wholly outclassed by slowking-g due to the latter's access to regenerator. with sd and taunt though now muk can present itself as a bulky physical wallbreaker and stallbreaker.

with this change frosttom can become a good offensive pivot at the cost of its nasty plot sets.

protean is a great ability but not with a shallow movepool. now it has a greninja feel with ice beam-low kick-spikes-uturn.

obviously this is a massive change to the metagame so we would like to hear your guys' thoughts. gluke has also proposed an alt tour so keep an eye out for that.

With that, I will end my last post here. It was a fun time, but the fun did eventually end.
Another statement of mine that aged poorly

good changes but it feels kinda weird that around 33% of the mons came from me

Some more buffs/reworks!

+Nasty Plot and Aeroblast
Makes Cummulus less passive to use and makes for potent offensive sets.

:ss/morpeko-hangry:
Electric/Poison
+15 Atk, +10 SpA
-Gluttony, +Pillage
+Baneful Bunker

Aura Wheel now alternates between Electric and Poison every other turn.
Morvilant is pretty directionless after it's initial Power Trip nerf, being much worse Muk-Oilslick and Slowking-Galar. Thus it was decreed to be the resident Pillager of the tier, and that gives it the unique role to annoy the multitude of Regenerators in the tier.

Can use all Drives
Techno Blast is now 100 BP, and changes type to match Drives again.

Genesect like the previous mon, is a rather lost addition that doesn't do much of anything. Now MG and the og Techno Blast effects in addition to the new drives effects may finally give Genesect that edge it needs to carve out a niche in the tier.

+Neutralizing Gas
Castform still sucks! Maybe now it won't. If not it's most certainly the most Normal type to ever be. (Yes we are throwing shit at the wall).
