I think She's Tail HAS to go. Broken Move. For the mon itself, I believe in either speed or Atk roughly 20 to 25 points ought to be removed and put elsewhere or discarded (maybe SpA). It's too potent a breaker otherwise.

And that's that on Alternatium EX! Thank you to everyone who participated in creating this metagame, and everyone who submitted regardless. After today, we will be doing ALOT of playtesting matches in order to iron out every single kink in our meta prior to the launch of PMPL. We will also be buffing any mediocre Pokémon we stumble across and nerf anything too broken. So look forward to that!

In preparation for Alt EX, we will be having two Playtesting Tours scheduled for this weekend, both launching at 2:30 P.M. EST for both dates (Saturday and Sunday respectively). More information can be found in the Alternatium EX Discord. Show up so we can fine tune our meta in preparation for this year's PMPL! (You quite literally do not need any experience with the meta, the more the merrier in regards to testing).

:golem: everyone knows this one did nothing. cannon style offered the ability to do z-move bp with fling and iron ball at the cost of using up both your item and 1 moveslot along with nuking your speed, paired with a highly mediocre defensive typing. while thermo fist was more interesting, it was offset by an awful initial attack stat and the facts that nonstab punch moves kinda suck and its stabs remove the only reason for using them. plus it overlapped with gumshoos-totem as a rock/dark physical wallbreaker. so we changed it to fighting to make use of stab punches.
:magearna: this mon suffers from losing the competition hard to vikavolt, who has much better offensive presence, recovery, and levitate. thus we made it water-type to distinguish it from other steels.
:togedemaru: almost as awful as golem-b (what was abismal cooking, indeed). clearly a mon built around ROLLOUT (and a 70 hp wishpasser, and a 90 atk "finisher" or "dual flincher") was going to fall on its face. now it has a much more defined role as a ground-neutral steel with pivoting, hazards, and nuzzle.
:goodra: this should probably be in powercrept mons but i was too lazy to edit the table. dragon poison is not a great defensive typing so we gave it a spd bump along with thick fat to resist the powerful basculectric.
:tauros-paldea-blaze: while tauros-steam has good bulk, it is horribly passive and lacks utility to be a defensive mon. instead, we made it a bulky special attacker with good coverage.

feel free to discuss possible meta shifts, glukes gonna come up w a set compendium

Hey everyone. As you have seen, alot of Pokémon have gotten some changes to them, in some cases radically altering how they can be viably used. I want to do a short set compendium talking about what the typical set Pokemon in our metagame can achieve and how you can apply that to your team.

:ss/marowak-alola:
Alolawak
Typing: Fire / Dark
Stats: 80 / 110 / 90 / 60 / 90 / 95
Ability: Magic Bounce

Alolawak @ Earthen Club
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Magic Bounce
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance / Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Flare Blitz
- Knock Off
Alolawak can be a threatening wallbreaker in the tier thanks t it's access to a potent dual STAB complemented by it's signature item Earthen Club, which doubles the power of it's Ground moves, effectively granting a third STAB. This allows it to make lightwork of most of the defensive Pokémon in the tier. Swords Dance takes it's power to the next level, while slotting in SR grants useful role compression.

Alolawak @ Heavy Duty Boots
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Magic Bounce
Jolly Nature
- Stealth Rock
- Knock Off
- Bonemerang
- Flare Blitz / Earthquake
This set trades attacking power to take more immediate advantage of Magic Bounce and focus on being a pivot. Notable is Bonemerang, which in this metagame is a Rock typed U-turn clone, allowing it to be able to keep momentum against unfavorable matchups.

:ss/qwilfish-hisui:
Aquattack
Typing: Dragon / Poison
Stats: 80 / 105 / 90 / 80 / 60 / 100
Abilities: Poison Point / Skill Link / Merciless

Aquattack @ Life Orb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Ability: Skill Link
Jolly Nature
- Swords Dance
- Scale Shot
- Barb Barrage*
- Liquidation

Barb Barrage - 25 BP. Hits two to five times. Each hit has a 10% poison proc.

The only Aquattack set you need to run, Aqua is a sweeper with dangerous potential options thanks to it's Skill Link dual STABs. It hates Steels, and the buff introduced multiple ones that resist Liquidation, so it will have a harder time getting off a sweep, but with anti Steel support in the form of Golem-A it can bust up teams.

:ss/Samurott-Hisui:
Samurott-Rogue
Typing: Water / Dark
Stats: 90 / 118 / 80 / 95 / 77 / 80
Abilities: Torrent / Water Veil / Defiant

Samurrot-Rogue @ Black Glasses
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Defiant / Water Veil
Jolly Nature
- Razor Shell*
- Ceaseless Edge* / Knock Off
- Pursuit
- Sucker Punch / Poison Jab

Razor Shell - Water type Fire Lash clone
Ceaseless Edge - 85 BP. Sets Spikes against resisted hits.
Samurott-Rogue is a Pokemon that needs little introduction. It has remained one of the most consistent threats in our metagame thanks to being one of the most efficient means if Pursuit trapping, while also being very hard to switch into. Ceaseless Edge punishes resists, while Razor Shell makes it hard to rely on pure bulk to wall it either. Razor Shell into Pursuit is also a great way of applying pressure. Sucker Punch is great priority while Poison Jab hits a few of the bulky Fairies that resist Razor Shell like Oricorio-Pau and Calyrex for big damage.

Samurrot-Rogue @ Life Orb
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Ability: Defiant / Water Veil
Adamant Nature
- Razor Shell
- Knock Off
- Swords Dance
- Sucker Punch / Poison Jab / Close Combat

Razor Shell - Water type Fire Lash clone
Ceaseless Edge - 85 BP. Sets Spikes against resisted hits.
Swords Dance leans fully into wallbreaking, having absurd damage output after a single SD. Very few threats can switch in and consistently wall Rogue at +2, and it takes full advantage of that by bullying bulky teams hard.

:ss/Decidueye-Hisui:
Decidueye-Autumn
Typing: Fire / Fighting
Stats: 80 / 110 / 70 / 110 / 70 / 105
Abilities: Moxie / Victory Star

Decidueye-Autumn @ Choice Scarf
Ability: Moxie
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
- Close Combat
- U-turn
- Flare Blitz
- Knock Off
Decidueye Autumn is one of the best scarf users in the tier, thanks to it's solid speed tier, Moxie snowballing and very spammable STABs. U-turn pivoting is always useful and Knock can be spammed early game to cripple switchins.

Decidueye-Autumn @ Life Orb
Ability: Victory Star
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Jolly Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Fire Blast
- Triple Arrows*
- Nasty Plot
- Hurricane / Hidden Power [Ice]

Triple Arrows - 30 BP. Hits three times. Lowers SpD by one stage on the third hit.
Nasty Plot flips the script, from being a potent physical attacker with a good offense matchup, to a devastating special wallbreaker. At +2, not alot of things can consistently swap in, and the few that do hate matchup up with Hurricane smacking hard for neutral damage.

:Ss/Calyrex:
Calyrex-Mystic
Typing: Dragon / Fairy
Stats: 100 / 90 / 90 / 90 / 90 / 80
Abilities: Dazzling / Aroma Veil / Rubber Armor

Calyrex-Mythic @ Leftovers
Ability: Rubber Armor
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Wish
- Protect
- Moonblast
- Defog / Will O Wisp / Calm Mind

Calyrex-Mythic is the definition of making use of what you got. It's coverage is nonexistent, it's utility is very slim. But what it does have, it makes use of VERY well. It's a core part of bulky and balance teams due to it's miriad of resists provided by its typing and respectful bulk. Rubber Armor acts like a defensive Neutralizing Gas of sorts, essentially shutting down the abilities of any Pokemon that attacks it with a damage dealing move. It's small amount of utility it has are always wanted for it's squad, so it very rarely feels like it achieves nothing on a team.

:ss/oricorio-sensu:
Horrorcorio
Typing: Ghost / Flying
Stats: 95 / 70 / 70 / 118 / 100 / 83
Ability: Necro Dancer

Horrorcorio @ Life Orb
Ability: Necro Dancer
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Calm Mind
- Deathly Dance*
- Focus Blast
- Hurricane

Deathly Dance - 80 BP. Heals for 50% of damage dealt.

Horrorcorio is one of the scariest sweepers in the tier, and it's mainly because of how Necro Dancer works. Necro Dancer gives the next Dance move used by this Pokémon +1 priority as long as a Pokémon on the field fainted. Essentially meaning once it gets up Calm Mind and knocks out a foe, it can chain Deathly Dances and turn into a :very scary threat to deal with. It's reliance on knocking things out to gain priority and it's relatively low speed helps keep it in check.

:ss/lurantis-totem:
Lurantio
Typing: Steel / Fairy
Stats: 100 / 75 / 95 / 85 / 95 / 60
Ability: Intrepid Sword / Magic Guard

Lurantio @ Leftovers
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SpA / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Moonlight
- Light of Ruin / Moonblast
- Knock Off
- Defog

Lurantio can do alot. Especially with the recent buffs giving it an all around stat adjustment, it can make use of it's incredible typing and ability to check lots of stuff. The choice between Light of Ruin and Moonblast comes down to power vs reliability. Defog and Knock Off round out it's utility.
Lurantio @ Life Orb
Ability: Magic Guard
EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 1 Atk
- Steel Beam
- Light of Ruin
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Moonlight
This set trades it's bulk and utility to be a strong special breaker, that relies on spamming it's dual STABs for massive damage output. It usually runs HP Ground to hit Fires and Steels it can't otherwise touch, and Moonlight grants it healing. I've had success slotting Knock Off on more aggressive builds but this is most likely the cream of the crop in regards to Lurantio sets.

Lurantio @ Choice Band
Ability: Intrepid Sword
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Play Rough
- Superpower
- Meteor Mash
- Knock Off
Essentially a lure set that decides to go balls to the wall and double down as a strong physical Wallbreaker, luring in the threats that may feel comfortable checking it's more prominent strats. Intrepid Sword + Choice Band hits HARD, and with correct prediction should blow chunks into most teams it faces.

:ss/Golem-Alola:
Golem-Alola
Typing: Rock / Electric
Stats: 85 / 85 / 115 / 130 / 45 / 55
Abilities: Magnet Pull / Lightning Rod / Galvanize

Golem-Alola @ Choice Scarf / Choice Specs
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SpA / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Thunderbolt
- Volt Switch
- Fire Blast / Flamethrower
- Earth Power

Our resident dedicated MagPuller, Golem-Alola has one job and one job only, and it is decently good at it. Scarf sets favor more offensive squads, letting it trap faster more offensive Steels, while Choice Specs can serve to trap bulkier steels that may be able to live a hit from an unboosted set. It's SpD is pathetic, and it carries a nasty x4 weakness to Ground.

:Basculin-Blue-Striped:
Bascuelectric
Typing: Water / Electric
Stats: 80 / 90 / 80 / 110 / 80 / 70
Ability: Volt Absorb / Mold Breaker / Speed Boost

Basculectric @ Life Orb
Ability: Speed Boost
EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Hydro Pump
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Beam
- Protect

Bascuelectric is one of the scariest late game sweepers in the tier, sporting a menacing dual STAB + Ice Beam covers almost everything currently available. It's very hard to switch into, and demands attention whenever it gets on the field. Priority is usually the main go too for it, like Samurott Rogue, or Braviary-Patriot to help check it. It also has a few defensive checks, like Goodra-Tsudane, who can take both STABs + Ice Beam decently well.

:ss/marowak-alola-totem:
Marowak-Alola-Totem
Typing: Rock / Ghost
Stats: 120 / 80 / 80 / 80 / 80 / 60
Ability: Rock Head / Soundproof / Dry Skin

Marowak-Alola-Totem @ Thick Club / Leftovers
Ability: Dry Skin
EVs: 24 HP / 16 Atk / 240 SpD
Careful Nature
- Bonemerang
- Knock Off
- Stealth Rock / Shadow Bone
- Shore Up

Marowak-Alola-Totem is an interesting Pokémon, primarily due to it's defensive profile. Dry Skin gives it a total of 3 immunities, including Water, which it would otherwise be weak to. This gives it a lot of switchin opportunities and serves as a useful glue mon to shore up specific weaknesses a team may bring. It's access to multiple forms of utility like Bonemerang, Knock Off and Stealth Rock also ensures it always supports your team.

:ss/Cherrim:
Cherrim
Typing: Grass / Ground
Stats: 90 / 110 / 100 / 75 / 75 / 80
Ability: Regenerator / Flower Gift

Cherrim @ Rocky Helmet
Ability: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpD
Impish Nature
- Earthquake
- U-turn
- Stealth Rock
- Synthesis / Toxic / Knock Off

Cherrim is the resident bulky Ground resist thanks to it's useful defensive typing and Regenerator, forming a solid defensive core with other Regen mons and defensive mons in general. It's bulk is a bit on the lower side, so be mindful of that, and don't both with any AV or mixed bulk shenanigans.

:ss/braviary:
Braviary-Patriot
Typing: Normal / Flying
Stats: 105 / 120 / 75 / 87 / 75 / 75
Ability: Defiant / Sheer Force / Battle Scarred

Braviary-Patriot (M) @ Choice Band
Ability: Defiant
EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
Adamant Nature
- Extreme Speed
- U-turn
- Brave Bird
- Close Combat

Lastly here we have Braviary-Patriot, probably one of the best forms of Speed Control in the tier. Braviary-Patriot spams a very powerful STAB Extreme Speed to ninja off frail sweepers that try to threaten teams. STAB Brave Bird is also a huge bonus in order to smack around even bulkier neutral threats, and Close Combat nails the 3 resists that exist for both moves. Brave can also perform Bulk Up Roost sets similar to what it does in standard, but it often runs into severe 4MSS syndrome in regards to what to run, so I generally advise against that.

And there you have it, just a small taste of what mons you might expect to see over the course of this tournament. We will be doing weekly breakdowns of what is successful in the tour and what might need looking into, if any. Definitely bring Water resists, Dragon checks and maybe a Fire check too

I hope everyone has fun!
