Marshadow is probably the most common answer to this set and is the primary reason why the set dropped in usage in the transition to USUM. It can steal all boosts with Spectral Thief, and simply KO after some chip damage:
252 Atk Life Orb Marshadow Close Combat vs. 252 HP / 240+ Def Arceus-Dark: 320-377 (72 - 84.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO after Stealth Rock
It's also worth noting that variants of CM Darkceus that run maximum speed can be outright OHKOed.

It is of course a check as it cannot switch in after Arceus-Dark sets up.

Blissey as Counter

Blissey @ Shed Shell
Ability: Natural Cure
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 SpD
Calm Nature
- Soft-Boiled
- Heal Bell
- Confide
- Toxic / Stealth Rock / Wish

Walls Darkceus by stalling CM with Confide while taking nothing from Judgment. Preferably have something else at the back (its gonna be stall anyways) as if you face a similar setup mon like Zeo Xern you run out of Confides.

0 SpA Dread Plate Arceus-Dark Judgment vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Blissey: 88-105 (12.3 - 14.7%) -- possible 7HKO

The easiest-peasiest counter to CM Arc-Dark ever. This set had previously been used as part of a nasty dual-CM stallbreaking core, completely counters anything Arc-Dark could send it's way, and threatens a reserve sweep. The best part is that this CM Arc-Fairy defies some of it's typical counterplay. Defensive Ho-Oh and SpDef Primal-Groudon are set up on and smashed. Mega-Gengar suddenly isn't beating this at +1. Pair this mon with a consistent burn-inducer to beat the Steel-types, like Wisp Arc-Poison or defensive Mewtwo, and a CM Toxic-immune partner, like Arc-Steel, and you can beat a significant portion of the metagame. This CM Arc doesn't even care about Marshadow stealing it's boosts.

0 SpA Pixie Plate Arceus-Fairy Judgment vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Arceus-Dark: 258-306 (58.1 - 68.9%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

What the hell is Arc-Dark ever doing to you?

+6 0 SpA Dread Plate Arceus-Dark Judgment vs. 252 HP / 4 SpD Arceus-Fairy on a critical hit: 384-453 (86.4 - 102%) -- 12.5% chance to OHKO

Literally nothing.

this set is pretty nice check for trapping and removing darkceus, as long as it gets a free switch in and has enough hp to get a sub up. it can beat it by disabling judgment, which it can get off easily with substitute, and going for perish song. darkceus can't attack until the turn it faints since its only attack is judgment, while it also can't switch due to stag. this gar can also still mostly operate as a standard one, able to trap and remove other mono attacking arc forms, rays, necrozmas, etc. while having the ability to also trap mons that can usually beat it.

Not much to explain here, unaware ignores any boosts that Darkceus may have and from there you just need one calm mind to 2hko it.

0 SpA Dread Plate Arceus-Dark Judgment vs. 248 HP / 248+ SpD Clefable: 59-69 (15 - 17.5%) -- possible 9HKO after Leftovers recovery

0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Arceus-Dark: 168-200 (37.8 - 45%) -- guaranteed 3HKO
+1 0 SpA Clefable Moonblast vs. 252 HP / 0 SpD Arceus-Dark: 254-300 (57.2 - 67.5%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

A very underrated mon that I have previously encountered earlier on this gen with the same set has once given my cm ceus trouble before. Well anyways, this is a safe check to darkceus cm because it is a good special wall and having access to recovery and status effect can really give this ceus a hard time to really set up. Alongside with this it gets access to noble roar which lowers the users both attack and special attack and this is another reason to how it can prevent darkceus from really just setting up a calm mind and getting that damage it needs, basically this mon is here to stall this set on Arceus, kind of like the gothitelle set.

0 SpA Dread Plate Arceus-Dark Judgment vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Reshiram: 97-115 (24 - 28.4%) -- possible 5HKO after Leftovers recovery

+1 0 SpA Dread Plate Arceus-Dark Judgment vs. 252 HP / 252+ SpD Reshiram: 144-171 (35.6 - 42.3%) -- 90.9% chance to 3HKO after Leftovers recovery

Enough said right there. This thing switches into sd, espeed, or the z move then ohkoes back. Marsh also can come in safely on a sack, and since it outspeeds ekiller, there’s little to no risk to marsh. A very straightforward check. The only risk is if you mispredict and switch marsh into a shadow claw, but that should be easy enough to avoid. So yeah, marshadow just flat out obliterates any ekiller that isn’t chople or sub, and this one’s neither.

Impish Nature

Quagsire. Has the ability unaware, gets curse set up, status, and recovery. It can take a z giga from Arceus and set up on ceus which will give it really not one chance to be able to touch it after a +1 curse set up. And with enough set up quagsire can beat Arceus. This set speaks for itself really.

+3 0 Atk Quagsire Earthquake vs. 36 HP / 0 Def Arceus: 201-237 (51.5 - 60.7%) -- guaranteed 2HKO

+2 252+ Atk Arceus Extreme Speed vs. 252 HP / 252+ Def Unaware Quagsire: 109-129 (27.6 - 32.7%) -- 72.4% chance to 4HKO after Leftovers recovery
