Overview

Arceus-Fairy is one of the best support Arceus formes in the metagame due to the utility of Fairy-typing in taking on major threats such as Mega Rayquaza and Marshadow. It's excellent in both an offensive and defensive capacity, with its excellent typing and stats being backed up by a wide support movepool which includes Defog, Stealth Rock, Calm Mind, and Recover. However, its Fairy typing also has the drawback of leaving Arceus-Fairy fairly vulnerable to very common Steel and Fire-types such as Celesteela, Arceus-Steel, and Ho-oh. Arceus-Fairy is also rather prone to being worn down as it is vulnerable to all forms of entry hazards, lacks any passive recovery, and has to switch into some of the strongest attackers Anything Goes has to offer over and over.

Support
Arceus-Fairy @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature

- Recover
- Toxic
- Defog / Stealth Rock

Set Comments

Moves
Judgment is Arceus-Fairy's main STAB attack to threaten Pokemon such as Yveltal and Marshadow. Recover keeps Arceus-Fairy healthy, while Toxic whittles away at its opponents. Arceus-Fairy can choose to set or remove entry hazards depending on what the rest of its team requires.

Set Details

Near maximum defense and HP investment and a Bold nature lets Arceus-Fairy take on strong physical threats like Mega Rayquaza better, while reduced HP takes less damage from entry hazards. 16 Speed outspeeds max Speed Ho-Oh and Primal Groudon. An alternate spread of 248 HP / 164 Def / 96 Speed Timid is highly useful for outspeeding Timid Yveltal and Adamant Mega Rayquaza, but the decrease in physical bulk means that Arceus-Ground's +2 Tectonic Rage and Marshadow's +1 Soul Stealing Seven Star Strike will both OHKO Arceus-Fairy after Stealth Rock.

Usage Tips

Arceus-Fairy can check Mega Rayquaza but is not a perfect switchin as Life Orb or Choice Band Dragon Ascent can 2HKO, especially with prior damage. As such, Arceus-Fairy needs to be played extremely carefully around Mega Rayquaza. Try to keep it healthy by using Recover frequently as pokemon like offensive Yveltal or Marshadow can break through Arceus-Fairy if it is weakened sufficiently. Use Defog or Stealth Rock whenever necessary to support your team, generally while facing Pokemon that are forced out by Arceus-Fairy such as Zygarde. Although Arceus-Fairy can reliably take on support Primal Groudon, beware of Swords Dance which can break through Arceus-Fairy pretty easily if caught off guard. ]Arceus-Fairy can also be setup fodder for many Steel-types like Arceus-Steel, so if they pose a significant threat try to keep doubling out to avoid giving them free setup opportunities. Also try to keep away from Mega Gengar and Gothitelle to avoid being trapped and KOed.

Team Options

This set is an easy switchin for most every Steel-type in the metagame so very solid Steel switchins such as Ho-oh or Primal Kyogre, are very important.Secondary checks to Mega Rayquaza such as Celesteela, Skarmory, and Arceus-Rock are useful to provide teams with both a Dragon Ascent and coverage move switchin. Arceus-Fairy also has a very hard time with Mega Gengar and Gothitelle, so Pursuit support from Tyranitar or Alolan Muk is beneficial. Dark- and Ghost-weak pokemon like Lunala or Extreme Killer Arceus really appreciate having a solid switchin to Yveltal and Marshadow on their side. Many sweepers such as Mega Rayquaza and Geomancy Xerneas enjoy Arceus-Fairy's Stealth Rock support, while Stealth Rock weak pokemon such as Ho-oh and Yveltal appreciate the Defog support. Checks to offensive Primal Groudon such as Arceus-Ground and Mega Rayquaza help to shore up another one of Arceus-Fairy's weaknesses. Additionally, Arceus-Fairy is complete setup fodder for Xerneas, so Pokemon such as Arceus-Poison or Magearna, as well as priority users such as Arceus, can help to cover that weakness.

Calm Mind
Arceus-Fairy @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 72 HP / 184 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
- Calm Mind
- Judgment
- Recover
- Earth Power / Fire Blast

Set Comments

Moves

Calm Mind boosts Special Attack and Special Defense, allowing Arceus-Fairy to sweep through weakened teams and better take on special attackers such as Primal Kyogre. Judgment is Arceus-Fairy's main STAB move, while Recover allows it to accumulate boosts while staying healthy. Earth Power allows Arceus-Fairy to hit Primal Groudon and several Steel-types such as Arceus-Steel for super effective damage, while Fire Blast misses out on Primal Groudon but hits Ground neutral or immune Steel-types such as Ferrothorn and Celesteela.

Set Details

The HP and Defense EVs allow Arceus-Fairy to survive a single +1 Lum Dragon Ascent or Choice Banded Dragon Ascent from Mega Rayquaza after Stealth Rock and a +1 Soul Stealing Seven Star Strike from Marshadow before Stealth Rock. 252 Speed and a Timid nature is used to speed tie with opposing Arceus-formes, as well as outspeeding anything slower such as Yveltal.

Usage Tips

Don't expect to sweep until late-game when checks like Arceus-Poison and Ho-Oh have been dealt with, since they shut down Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy rather effectively. However, Arceus-Fairy can still have good utility early to mid game in checking Dark- and Dragon-types such as Yveltal. Try to avoid setting up on status users like Lugia since they can put Arceus-Fairy on a timer. It's generally easiest to set up on Dragon-, Fighting-, or Dark-types you scare out like Zygarde, Marshadow, or Arceus-Dark.

Team Options

Arceus-Fairy is most often fit onto balanced teams that need a check to Yveltal, Marshadow, and other balance breakers. Ho-Oh checks such as Arceus-Rock and Zygarde are useful, as well as reliable Stealth Rock setters to keep it weakened. Steel-type checks such as Arceus-Ground, Primal Groudon and Zygarde-Complete are key. The first two can also set Stealth Rock. Mega Gengar can be useful for picking off or weakening checks such as Ferrothorn, Magearna, or Celesteela for Arceus-Fairy to sweep better. Spikes support from Pokemon like Skarmory and Ferrothorn can also be useful for wearing down grounded Steel-types. Secondary checks to Dragon Dance Mega Rayquaza such as the aforementioned Skarmory and Extreme Killer Arceus are going to be needed because this set opts to not run as much bulk as support.

Strategy Comments

Other Options

Iron Defense or Refresh are options over Earth Power or Fire Blast on Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy to wall Ho-Oh or keep you status free and break through Chansey and Blissey respectively, but both drop crucial coverage vs Steel-types. Support can also run 72 HP / 184 Def / 252 Spe to check Mega Rayquaza more offensively but this hinders its ability to tank hits from stuff Pokemon such as Arceus-Ground. Similarly, a spread of 244 HP / 48 SpA / 216 Spe and a Timid Nature can also be used for outspeeding Jolly Mega Rayquaza on support Arceus-Fairy, especially variants running Stealth Rock, but the loss of bulk is highly noticeable. Offensive sets can opt to run Stone Edge to lure Ho-Oh, but this is an otherwise useless attack. Likewise, Thunder is an option to hit Celesteela and Ho-Oh, but this loses out on more targets overall. Will-O-Wisp can be run over Toxic to hit Steel-types instead of Fire-types but being complete Primal Groudon bait is inadvisable and it's not as useful for crippling other support Arceus formes. Roar or Perish Song are usable on support Arceus-Fairy as well to get rid of setup sweepers and annoy Baton Pass teams, but leaves uninvested Judgment as its only way of doing damage. Calm Mind can also opt to run maximum Special Attack, but the extra power isn't nearly as useful as the ability to take on large threats such as Marshadow. Magic Coat on support carries some surprise factor and allows Arceus-Fairy to shut down Deoxys Speed and Smeargle but again leaves Judgment as its only way of doing any damage.

Checks and Counters

[Steel-types]: Support Arceus-Fairy is an easy switchin opportunity for Steel-types such as Solgaleo and Arceus-Steel, which can either set up or simply KO it with their super effective STAB attacks. Many support Steel-types such as Skarmory or Ferrothorn can also use the switchin opportunity to set or remove entry hazards. Earth Power can deal some damage to them, but it is too weak to even 2HKO most Steel-types and still does not help with Celesteela or Ferrothorn. Magearna can withstand a +1 Earth Power and steal Arceus-Fairy's boosts with Heart Swap.

[Ho-Oh]: Ho-Oh completely walls Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy, and only has to fear Toxic from support variants. It can deal back significant damage with its STAB attacks or cripple Arceus-Fairy with Toxic.

[Arceus Poison]: Arceus Poison hard counters all Arceus Fairy sets and can use the free turn forcing Arceus Fairy out to use any number of status moves it might run, including Defog, Stealth Rock, or Swords Dance.

[Trapping]: Arceus-Fairy has no way to prevent being trapped and KOed by Mega Gengar, as Earth Power fails to OHKO once Gengar has mega evolved. Gothitelle can trap and remove both variants Arceus-Fairy, although it may have issues with trapping Calm Mind sets if it switches directly into a Judgment or Calm Mind.

[Chansey and Blissey]: Due to their incredible special bulk and reliable recovery, Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy cannot break through either Pokemon without Refresh. Both can continually set Stealth Rock versus support sets without fear.

[Unaware]: Clefable and Pyukumuku can wall Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy permanently, as Unaware allows them to ignore its accumulated special attack boosts and either slowly chip away at it with Moonblast or cripple it with Toxic. However, incorrectly switching into support Arceus-Fairy sets can lead to being crippled by Toxic.

[Specially Bulky Pokemon]: Arceus-Fairy has trouble breaking through specially bulky Pokemon such as Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Alolan Muk, all of which can deal significant damage to it in return. However all can be worn down over time with chip damage and entry hazards.

AM QC check here, you're QC so obviously only include what you agree with. Comments in Bold
Ready for checks- QC 1/3 It's actually 0/2 because that's when you write it up (after the two)

Overview

  • One of the best support arc formes because typing lets it take on huge threats like megaray and yveltal
  • Excellent in both team support and offensive roles
  • However, typing leaves it vulnerable to a number of very common steel and fire types like arceus-steel and primal groudon which can give it some issues
  • It can be prone to being worn down from wanting to switch into a lot of different threats and being vulnerable to all hazards and status
Expand this. This is really lacking in effort right here; just at a glance, this should at least mention its sets in some form (CM and Support), it being one of the best mray answers around, few exploitable weaknesses etc

Support
Arceus-Fairy @ Pixie Plate
Ability: Multitype
EVs: 248 HP / 244 Def / 16 Spe
Bold Nature
- Judgment
- Recover
- Toxic
- Defog / Stealth Rock

Set Comments

Moves

  • Judgment is STAB attack to threaten dragons and darks Such as?
  • Recover keys it healthy for a while
  • Toxic cripples Primal Groudon and Ho-Oh, as well as other support arc formes
  • This set either removes entry hazards with defog or sets them with stealth rock depending upon the team Give each their own bullet and expand, what teams need defog (hooh teams, mray+ygod teams, etc)
  • Probably at least mention Roar in Moves

Set Details

  • Near maximum defense and HP investment and bold nature lets it take on strong physical threats like Mega Rayquaza better, reduced HP takes less damage from entry hazards And status
  • 16 speed creeps max speed neutral base 90s like Pdon and Pogre Not speed creep, excise mention of that; also mention that it's Adamant/Modest Primals
  • If it doesn't get its own set, mention max speed Fairyceus here

Usage Tips

  • Can check Mega Rayquaza but is not a perfect switchin as Life Orb or Choice Band Dragon Ascent can 2hko
  • Try to keep it healthy with recover as pokemon like yveltal or DD Ray can break through it if weakened enough
  • Use defog or rocks whenever necessary to support your team When is "whenever seccesary"? What rockers can it switch into? What can it afford to set rocks/defog on? Mention using rocks early game
  • Although this can take on support primal groudon sets, beware of SD or Dual Dance Dual Dance is also SD which can set up freely if not immediately toxic'd or switched out on
  • It can also be setup fodder for many Steel-types like Arceus-Steel, so if they pose a significant threat try to keep doubling out and not let them set up for free
  • Mega Gengar avoidance bullet here

Team Options

  • This set is an easy switchin for pretty much every steel type, so very solid steel switchins (probably more than one if possible) like ho-oh, primal kyogre, etc are really important
  • Secondary checks to bandray like steelceus, skarmory, and rockceus are useful so they can switch into the dragon ascents and this can switch into the coverage moves
  • This also has a very hard time with mega gengar so Pursuit support from Ttar or mega scizor is possible Mega Scizor is really bad, alolan muk plz and ty
  • Dark-weak pokemon like lunala or ghostceus really appreciate having a solid switchin to yveltal with recovery
  • Lots of sweepers like mega rayquaza and geoxern enjoy rocks support, while SR weak pokemon like ho-oh and yveltal appreciate the defog support
  • Sd Dong answers

Set Comments

Moves

  • CM boosts let you sweep and take hits better vs a few things like Pogre An
  • Judgment is main strong stab
  • Earth Power is secondary coverage to hit Primal Groudon and most Steel-types
  • Recover keeps it healthy and lets it set up on more pokemon/multiple times
  • Put refresh in moves; toxic is easily as common as ground-weak steel-types and refresh sets can take on most support pdon somewhat reliably anyway, so while it's def worse it's still similar in effectiveness

Set Details

  • The HP and defense let you take a single +1 Dragon Ascent from Mega Rayquaza (choice band or lum) Choice band isn't +1, as well as just being more Mixed bulky (The set is specifically for mixed bulk)
  • 252 speed timid is good for outspeeding things like yveltal Max speed isn't needed for this pick another example and Mega rayquaza and speed tying with other arc formes

Usage Tips

  • Don't expect to sweep until late-game when checks like Celesteela and Ho-Oh have been dealt with, since a lot of its checks just completely stop it from doing anything
  • However it can still have good utility early to mid game in checking Dark- and Dragon-types like Yveltal
  • Try to avoid setting up on status users like Lugia since they can put Arceus-Fairy on a timer. It's generally easiest to set up on Dragons such as you scare out or passive pokemon (sableye, etc)
  • MGar bullet here
Team Options

  • This mon is very easy to fit onto balanced teams that need checks to dark and/or dragon types as long as they can take on its few weaknesses What?
  • Ho-Oh checks like Arceus-Rock and Zygarde since it's going to be an easy switchin mid-game
  • Steel checks like Arceus-Ground and Primal Groudon are key. Both can also set Stealth Rock, which is very useful for weakening Ho-Oh
  • Mega Gengar can be useful for picking off or weakening things like Ferrothorn, Magearna, or Celesteela for Arceus-Fairy to sweep better I'm assuming hypnosis mgar because you specified celesteela and mag? If so, talk about it.
  • Spikes support from Pokemon like Skarmory Honestly put ferro here, it's much more reliable as a spiker rn and handles POgre+Celesteela can also be useful for wearing down grounded Steel-types
  • Mons with similar checks/counters like xern or other specialceus

Strategy Comments

Other Options

  • Iron Defense or Refresh are options over earth power on CM to wall Ho-Oh or keep you status free and break through chansey and blissey respectively but both drop crucial coverage vs steel types
  • Offensive sets with Judgement/Earth Power/Stone Edge/Recover can be used to lure Ho-Oh and deal more damage in an offensive role if support is not desirable Mention attack investment needed (144 atk, or more for defensive maybe)
  • Fire Blast can be used over Earth Power to lure certain steel-types like Ferrothorn, Skarmory, and Celesteela And deal more damage to steelceus/mag
  • Wisp over Toxic is possible to hit steel-types instead of fire-types but being complete primal groudon and Ho-Oh bait is inadvisable and it's not as useful for crippling other support arc formes
  • If you for whatever reason disagree with the above, include roar and max spe support here
  • More offensive spread to guarentee the OHKO on mray

Checks and Counters

Steel-types: Support Arceus-Fairy is an easy switchin opportunity for Steel-types such as Solgaleo and Arceus-Steel, which can either set up or simply KO it with their super effective STAB attacks.

Ho-Oh: Ho-Oh completely walls Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy, and only has to fear Toxic from support variants. It can deal back significant damage with its STAB attacks or cripple Arceus-Fairy with Toxic.

Mega Gengar: Arceus-Fairy has no way to prevent being trapped and KOed by Mega Gengar, as Earth Power fails to OHKO once Gengar has mega evolved. Put this first, mention dbond/hypno sets as well because otherwise it looks like +1 cmceus would win somewhat reliably

Unaware: Clefable, Quagsire, and Pyukumuku can wall Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy permanently, as Unaware allows them to ignore its accumulated special attack boosts and either slowly chip away at it with Moonblast or cripple it with Toxic. Clefable in particular is annoying as it can cure the status that support arceus tries to spread.

Chansey and Blissey: Due to their incredible special bulk and reliable recovery, Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy cannot break through either Pokemon without Refresh. Both can continually set Stealth Rock versus support sets without fear.

Specially Bulky Pokemon: Arceus-Fairy has trouble breaking through specially bulky Pokemon such as Primal Kyogre, Primal Groudon, and Alolan Muk, all of which can deal significant damage to it in return. However all can be worn down over time with chip damage and entry hazards. Combine this with chansey and blissey, as it's teh same reason and it's not like either one is that much better/more viable than these

Phasing potentially as well, but its def a worse answer.
E: You should really be going into more detail. Overall, however, this is solid work.

  • This also has a very hard time with mega gengar so Pursuit support from Ttar or muk-a or mega scizor is possible
  • Checks to Pdon like Giratina-O and Mega Rayquaza honestly groundceus should be listed here and put gira-o last

not qc but some minor input:

fairyceus gives the freest of switches to any steel-type ever, poisonceus, and sometimes pdon but toxic can handle pdon. should be mentioned in the overview as a big flaw imo

because of the above point, maybe flamethrower in moves? helps with ferro mostly and celesteela a bit, though it still fails to 2hko celesteela. i've used it when I had a spare rocker and another defog user or wasnt in heavy need of a defog user before to hit ferrothorn and it was nice to have.

The Steel thing is in the overview, maybe not super expanded on because not written up but that'll be there. I did slash Fire Blast though, hadn't been sure of that when I started the analysis back in... February, goddamn, but it's been a go-to option for me for months so yeah.

This is high quality and what little I had to say I mostly already touched on, so here's some minor stuff for 2/3. Obviously things will need to be expanded for writup but you've done this before.

  • Secondary checks to bandray like Celesteela, skarmory, and rockceus are useful so they can switch into the dragon ascents and this can switch into the coverage move
  • This also has a very hard time with mega gengar so Pursuit support from Ttar or muk-a or mega scizor is possible
  • Dark-weak pokemon like lunala or ghostceus really appreciate having a solid switchin to yveltal with recovery
  • Pokemon threatened by Marshadow like Extreme Killer Arceus love having a reliable switchin around
  • Lots of sweepers like mega rayquaza and geoxern enjoy rocks support, while SR weak pokemon like ho-oh and yveltal appreciate the defog support
  • Checks to offensive Pdon like Groundceus and Mega Rayquaza
  • This is complete setup fodder for Xerneas, so Pokemon like Magearna and Pdon, as well as multiple priority users, can help keep Geoxern in check

Moves

  • CM boosts let you sweep and take hits better vs a few things like Pogre
  • Judgment is main strong stab
  • Earth Power is secondary coverage to hit Primal Groudon and most Steel-types
  • Fire Blast is an option to hit Ferrothorn and Celesteela, as well as being stronger vs things like Arceus-Steel
  • Recover keeps it healthy

Set Details

  • The HP and defense let you take a single +1 Lum Dragon Ascent or Choice Banded Dragon Ascent from Mega Rayquaza as well as just being more physically bulky for things like Pdon
  • 252 speed timid is good for outspeeding things like yveltal and rayquaza and speed tying with other arc formes

Usage Tips

  • Don't expect to sweep until late-game when checks like Celesteela and Ho-Oh have been dealt with, since a lot of its checks just completely stop it from doing anything Celest isnt the best example I think without a qualigfication,a swe have fire blast now and With that CM fairyceus puts a ton of pressure on that. Maybe Mega Gengar or Poisonceus or Chansey, or specify
  • However it can still have good utility early to mid game in checking Dark- and Dragon-types like Yveltal
  • Try to avoid setting up on status users like Lugia since they can put Arceus-Fairy on a timer. It's generally easiest to set up on Dragons you scare out Just pokemon you scare out in general really, yveltal is another good one
  • Avoid toxic

Team Options

  • This mon is most often fit onto balanced teams that need checks to dark and/or dragon types as long as they can take on its few weaknesses
  • Ho-Oh checks like Arceus-Rock and Zygarde since it's going to be an easy switchin mid-game
  • Steel checks like Arceus-Ground, Zygarde-Complete and Primal Groudon are key. Both can also set Stealth Rock, which is very useful for weakening Ho-Oh
  • Mega Gengar can be useful for picking off or weakening things like Ferrothorn, Magearna, or Celesteela for Arceus-Fairy to sweep better
  • Spikes support from Pokemon like Skarmory and Ferrothorn can also be useful for wearing down grounded Steel-types
  • Secondary checks to DD Megaray like the aforementioned Skarmory and Ekiller are going to be needed because this set opts to not run so much bulk Really just secondary mray checks in general, like a balance team with this as the only bandray check isnt gonna have a good time

Other Options

  • Iron Defense or Refresh are options over earth power on CM to wall Ho-Oh or keep you status free and break through chansey and blissey respectively but both drop crucial coverage vs steel types
  • Offensive sets with Judgment/Earth Power/Stone Edge/Recover can be used to lure Ho-Oh and deal more damage in an offensive role if support is not desirable
  • Likewise, Thunder is an option to hit Celesteela and Ho-Oh but loses out on more targets overall
  • Wisp over Toxic is possible to hit steel-types instead of fire-types but being complete primal groudon bait is inadvisable and it's not as useful for crippling other support arc formes
  • Roar is alright on support set to get rid of setup sweepers but leaves uninvested Judgment as the only way of doing damage
  • Support can also run 72 HP / 184 Def / 252 Spe to check ray more offensively but it really hinders ur ability to tank things like groundceus Put this higher, while it may not be full set worthy its significantly better than edge
  • Calm Mind can also opt to run maximum Special Attack, the extra power just isn't really that useful compared to how the bulk lets it switch into a lot of stuff
  • Magic Coat on support set w/rocks is alright for surprise factor and annoying deo-s and smeargle but again sacrifices a pretty useful moveset

[Mega Gengar]: Arceus-Fairy has no way to prevent being trapped and KOed by Mega Gengar, as Earth Power fails to OHKO once Gengar has mega evolved. I'm ambivalent on this one myself as gengar is significantly better, but this could have Goth too as it also hard traps. Take your pick of including or not.

[Unaware]: Clefable and Pyukumuku can wall Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy permanently, as Unaware allows them to ignore its accumulated special attack boosts and either slowly chip away at it with Moonblast or cripple it with Toxic. Put this lower down. Unaware doesnt wall arc fairy as hard as, say, chansey, and its not like either of them are as viable. They also don't check the support set as well as toxic hurts, either via crippling (pyuk) or wasting PP and then crippling (clef)

[Chansey and Blissey]: Due to their incredible special bulk and reliable recovery, Calm Mind Arceus-Fairy cannot break through either Pokemon without Refresh. Both can continually set Stealth Rock versus support sets without fear.

[Arceus Poison]: Arceus Poison hard counters all Arceus Fairy sets and can use the free turn forcing Arceus Fairy out to use any number of status moves it might run, including Defog, Stealth Rock, or Swords Dance.
